Touchpad works do not (HP laptop)
Hi all
I have a HP Pavilion dm4-2165dx Entertainment PC. For some reason, the system is no longer recognizing the touchpad. Here are some details:
-J' already tried typing on the left corner. It does not work.
-None of the keyboard shortcuts work.
-J' tried to update drivers, but I get a message saying that the new driver is the same version as the one already on my computer.
-J' tried to uninstall the current driver, but I don't seem to be able to. The crucial problem is that my touchpad is more listed in the pointing on the control panel devices. I have attached a screenshot. Note that only my external mouse (HID-compliant mouse) appears as an option.
Maybe it means that there is a problem with the physical connection. Did I forget?
Thank you very much
Roger

ALPS touchpad works do not correctly with Windows 8 dm4-2070us
I upgraded to Windows 7 to Windows 8 on my laptop dm4-2070us, and now I have more use of gestures or scrolling on the Alps touchpad. The left and right buttons work and I can move the cursor anywhere on the screen, but that's all. Everything else seems to work fine. I can't find drivers anywhere for the Alps touchpad for Windows 8. All the world has noticed what is happening? I hope that a new driver will soon be developed but not optimistic. Any suggestions out there?
Hello
The ALPS Win8 dm4-2xxx pilot will be SP58700 and should appear on the ftp site, when it is released. I have no ETA, but it should be soon.

We couldn't get a picture of my friends PS3. I agree with the previous posters, this is the worst tech purchase I did for years. No support, not a single valid reason why this is happening. No wonder they're going in the hole, I hope they go bankrupt.

Satellite P200-144: Touchpad works does not after Microsoft Windows Update
Hello
I have a Satellite P200-144 and since I installed a new Synaptics driver provided for me through Windows Update the touchpad did not work.
I tried to roll back the driver, re - install a new installation of a driver Alps (as suggested by a messsage on board), but this has no effect. I tried to revert to a previous state of the system, but this fails to happen.
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium that came with the noteboos when I bought a few months ago. I also went in the settings in the control panel and none of the settings work - help!
Someone has it has happen to them, or does anyone know of a fix for this?
Kind regards
Chris
Hello
a quick and efficient solution would be to backup your data on an external (DVD, USB - HDD, etc.) to recover your machine and then to AVOID such Windows updates, as this driver IS not native drivers from the manufacturer. Just install the drivers supplied by toshiba, since they act on your machine.
Unfortunately I have Don t have another solution for you, then it would be best to try this method and give a quick answer if it worked.
Welcome them

I understand that you upgraded to Windows 10, but due to a problem with the cursor freezing frequently, you returned back to Windows 7. Now the touchpad or keyboard to respond. The touchpad scrolling does not work after upgrade to Windows 10
Hello world
I used everything on my laptop Satellite uninstalled and reinstalled Windows 10.
Now, toshiba applications disappeared.
This isn't my problem. My problem is that on my touchpad scrolling is not working.
Synaptics is gone and when I try to install a new driver (Touch Pad driver) it gives an error after installation.Synaptics is installed accept for the uttilities mouch.
Someone can help me.
Greetings, Jiska
I don't know what model of laptop you have, but it turns out that not all series of phones are supported to win 10 upgrade.
In this case Win 10 drivers will not be released on such unit...The touchpad scrolling requires additional touchpad driver...
If your device supports Synaptics touchpad, you can also use the driver for the Synaptics driver page:
http://www.Synaptics.com/en/drivers.phpBut currently driver to Win 10 is not available... you can try to install and to use the Win 8.1 driver but I'm not sure if it will work properly...

HP Pavilion Gaming: Touchpad works not when you press keys
As the topic says I can not use the keyboard and mouse at the same time. I tried to disable Smart sense in the Symantecs click buffer settings by moving the slider all the eway to the left, but this has not solved. I also went in the mouse and the parameters of the touchpad and value no delay, but it also did not resolve my problem. I have the latest drivers (19.2.11.38) installed. Is there another setting I'm missing?
Hello
Normally, you just have to disable SmartSense or PalmCheck Control Panel of Synaptics - but from what I've seen, it seems no longer works for Windows 10 versions of this driver.
You may be able to work around this problem as follows.
First, download the Synaptics driver on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.
Version of the Synaptics 17.0.18.8 driver
Disable your wireless card (should be f12 ).
Open Control Panel, open programs and features, right click on the Synaptics driver and select uninstall.
When finished, restart the laptop.
When windows rebooted, open your download folder and re-run the installer of Synaptics - when it is finished, restart the laptop.
Open the Synaptics settings panel, disable SmartSense or PalmCheck , then check if the touchpad works now with a key on the keyboard is pressed.
If so, turn on your wireless card and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the Synaptics driver.

HP Pavilion dv7-4190us: touchpad buttons do not work
Last week, I received two HP Pavilion dv7-4190us laptops from Amazon. Both had the same problem: the buttons on the touchpad do not work. If you hit one of them, the result is the same if you hit the main part of the pad. Affecting the buttons in a particular function does not work. I checked in the Information System, which showed the touchpad as having 0 buttons. I spent over 2 hours on the phone with HP support, but they were unable to resolve the problem. I sent two computers laptops back to Amazon, ask for a refund. It's a shame that these otherwise great computers are rendered by this problem, making them unacceptable for me.
It turns out that the buttons on the touch pad work. The result of this 'problem' is my confusion over the operation of these buttons. On this touchpad (which is not like the others, I've used so far), the buttons are flush with the surface of the touch pad, and they do not respond to touch, but only in the same way as a button on the main part of the pad. The fact to the specific button functions, to firmly press a button. I found this by reading the answer to another user who has reported the same issue. I hope this can help to avoid confusion of someone else in the future.

TouchPad gestures works do not [Aspire V5]
So I hope someone who works at Acer reads this. Or someone who is technically advanced.
So, I first noticed the issue with sensitivity. The mouse is very sensitive. Then I noticed that the gestures do not work either. I can't scroll with the mouse. I went in deep and tried to understand the problem (but no solution).
So I performed these steps:
- Changed the speed of the pointer for the fastest (I didn't like the speed of the slow pointer). The pointer was still quite slow.
- Has decided to modify the specific drivers for TouchPad. I go to the tab MOMENTUM under the mouse settings. I look and see that the 'Options' button is greyed out. I also noticed it says "Standard PS/2 Mouse.
- I decide to find the software to change the settings and it located in C:\Program Files\Elantech. I open ETDAniConf.exe and decide to do a test. I uncheck the click right left click and some other parameters of scroll. Nothing helps.
- Then I decided to uninstall it and install the drivers. Did. Nothing has changed. Modification of the wiretap, the scrolling options button does nothing. The mouse settings still shows as 'Standard PS/2 Mouse' even if the tab says MOMENTUM.
- I decided to make a big step and just reinstall Windows 8 altogether using Recovery of Acer. Reinstalled, still faced with the same problem. Always known as "Standard PS/2" mouse
- I try another way to try to solve the problem. I'm trying to find the similar driver more up-to-date. I find on that was much more recent (version 2013 rather than 08.2012). To install it, restart computer. Always without success. Always known as "Standard PS/2 Mouse.
- I decided to go the final round before asking the question here. I downloaded a copy of Windows 8 Pro from the Microsoft Web site and transferred the ISO in the bootable flash drive. I split the hard drive in a clean score (60 GB) and installed fresh Windows 8 Pro on it, without all the Acer drivers. Of couse I was missing the network drivers, so I had to go to my desktop to download the drivers online. I decided to first download the TouchPad drivers. Downloaded, copied to a Flash drive down them on the Acer laptop. Restarted the computer. Always face the question.
So here I am at the moment. I had the laptop for a good discount of my work (as a bonus working there). It's a time discount. As you have noticed, I mentioned he was grateful as "Standard PS/2 Mouse. It's huge index that tells me that the drivers are really bugs. The problem here is that the TouchPad drivers are not recognized as if it were a touch pad, but as a mouse. A mouse that can just right click, left click.
If someone is facing this problem or knows how to fix it, please help me.
So I worked with a Microsoft Technical Support, and apparently the problem is on the side of the Acer. The automatically installed recovery partition the Elantech Drivers for the TouchPad and downloads Web site showed that the pilots Elantech. After some research, we found the Synaptics drivers on their official website and everything started working normally. Please, please, please, please fix this issue. I am frightened by the number of customers who will have to deal with this issue.

Left mouse button doesn't work is not on my laptop
My left button of the mouse is suddenly no longer works on my laptop. Instead of the function of click, she appeared a little icon of 2 triangles with a dot in the Middle, and they were in the circle. Instead of click, it scrolls vertically on the page. Now, it does nothing when I click on the left button of the mouse.
I checked my settings of the mouse and the left button is set to "Click" according to its function, not scroll or anything else. I just started this suddenly, doing without all the parameters being modified.
Can someone please? It's driving me crazy. Thank you very much!
PS - I have a Toshiba, but I think this is not the laptop, it's Vista (?) Also, I have not installed anything recently, etc..
Hello
Try the system restore before that happened:
How to make a Vista system restore
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-System-Restore-how.html
==========================================If necessary: (make sure that you have restarted at least once, if the above did not work)
Panel of configuration manager devices - mouse and pointing devices - Double click on the touchpad - the driver tab-
Click on update driver (it comes may not do anything like MS is far behind the drivers of certification), now right CLICK
on the TouchPad and UNINSTALL.Then go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers except the category itself (all in). RESET
This will refresh the driver for the TouchPad and battery USB. This does not prevent the touchpad from working.
Here is the similar procedure under XP, Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific device if present.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310575Then go to the system manufacturer's website and get the latest touchpad drivers.
Download - SAVE - go to where you put it-click on - RUN AS ADMIN.

Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 on laptop won't let touchpad works.
I have a Dell Studio 15 with Windows 7.
I chose to disable the touchpad on my laptop computer touchpad options menu when the wireless pointing device is connected. I do this because I accidetally press.
The touchpad does not work when it is first started, unless I turn the bluetooth mouse ON and then turn OFF again, the laptop computer touchpad won't work. If I don't have the mouse with me, I can't use my touchpad. Even if the mouse is turned off, when I boot I get a notification in the status bar that my touchpad has been disabled because a wireless pointing device is connected when in fact it is not connected.
I already know of workarounds for the touchpad, click on turn off, but I don't want to do that, I have no mouse connected.
I already checked dell and Microsoft updates the driver. I can't find one for the mouse, but I have the latest drivers for touchpad.
Does anyone have a fix or I have this problem?
Nothing in the BIOS cost to help. I tried to turn off the Bluetooth radio, and of course it did not work at all when Windows starts up. I found myself keeping just the keyboard power. I discovered that if I put the wireless hardware switch that is on the side of the laptop it allows the touchpad works so I can uncheck the 'disable the touchpad when the USB pointing device is connected.
It could be that the touchpad software just works well with a bluetooth for the option to disable touchpad mouse.
I'll just leave all the time now anyway. It's just a pain when I type, and I think I touched the touchpad and the text is in another place.
Thanks for the help.
