Transport CANADA share disks over WAN

Hi, here is my setup:

I have the DSL modem/router (cannot access the administration panel (ISP does not give) - so it must be in router mode acting without DHCP) hooked up to my no. 1-2 to time capsule (latest model, latest firmware 7.7.7 - in Bridge mode - acting as a dhcp server).

My 2nd time capsule, also of 2 TB, latest firmware 7.6.7, is connected to the extended bridge ethernet mode (mode dhcp client) 1 St time capsule.

I installed all the capsules of the time with the overall dynamic hostname and entered my apple for the CCMM ID (green light is on in the airport utility).

Now the problem is when I connect to the external IP I can properly connect to the 1 St time capsule and browse files, backups, etc, but I can't connect to my 2nd time capsule of the external IP address.

The two time capsules appear fine in the finder when I'm off the LAN, but it does not connect to a 2nd.

What is the problem? Am I missing something?

Part of the discs on WAN is not an option for me as I said I can't put no.1 Time Capsule in router mode due to my ISP give me admin for my DSL modem access.

Thank you

Your problem is that the two TC are on the same (your public WAN) IP address and the same ports, according to the standard CCMM. So the first TC in the chain is the one who gets the attention and captured the port.

Apple didn't CCMM system able to cope with two of the devices themselves I guess.

The usual way around this kind of thing is to use a different port. Unfortunately, Apple has hidden everything and so there is no way to connect to another port.

The only solution I can think to... other than the simple move all the files you want to the first TC... is to use VPN not CCMM.

Buy a VPN router... What are cheap... type of SME end pretty cheap, you can buy or you can buy a router in most common domestic type and run it to third person (dd - wrt, openwrt, Gargoyle, etc.).

Once you have established a tunnel in your local network, then all in the local network is fully accessible.

You are able to share the drive within the network?

Open the router configuration page and go to storage tab, click Activate the FTP server FTP server void tab and enable access to the Internet.

Now, go to the status tab and check the IP address of the Internet on the status page. Note the Internet IP address. Consider the Internet IP address X.X.X.X. . Open the Internet browser and in the address bar, type ftp://X.X.X.X .

Hi, James, you should switch to vSphere 5.5 first, because it introduced management of disks in virtual machine (vmdk) more than 2 TB. Once upgraded, you will be able to use the latest version of Veeam Backup and replication (v7 R2) which fully supports vSphere 5.5.

  • VMware View Agent 5.2.0 PCoIP over WAN fails

Recently, I did an upgrade on VMware View VMware view horizon 5.2 4.6 square.

After the upgrade the 4.6.0 view agent in virtual machines of my parents to view agent 5.2.0 and rebuild the office pools, external PCoIP does not work. Can I open a session in the 5.2 Client view, see the list of office pools, select a pool, the desk at work close and try to open remotely. After 1 second, this error appears:

Error: Overview of VMware View Client: The connection to the remote computer has ended.

    What does not work:

    • External/WAN via PCoIP for workstations with the view Agent 5.2.0

    What does not work:

    • Internal/LAN via PCoIP for workstations with the view Agent 5.2.0
    • Internal/LAN via RDP for workstations with the view Agent 5.2.0
    • External/WAN via RDP for workstations with the view Agent 5.2.0
    • External/WAN via PCoIP for workstations with the Agent View 5.1.3 or lower (tested up to 4.6.0 Agent view)

I even tried to build a new pool of desktop Windows 7 in a new OU in the active without optimizations VDI directory or group policy. I tried with and without the firewall Windows is activated. In any case, this new office pool works externally via any Agent from view but the view Agent 5.2.0.

Is it the 5.2.0 Agent view have the same firewall/port that the Agent View 5.1.3 requirements? What else can I test or try to get external PCoIP for desktop computers to work with the view Agent 5.2.0?

Finally, we discovered the problem / solution. We on a security apparatus of Palo Alto Networks that blocked traffic PCoIP 5.2.0 but not PCoIP 5.1.3 traffic.

According to a backline Vmware engineer:

"A change was made to the ephemeral TLS connection that is used to establish trust and to negotiate parameters for subsequent UDP traffic network. This change allows the customer to use their own certificate for TLS server for this connection. For more details of what happens during the installation of PCoIP, and how this changed view 5.2, see KB 1038762. »

It seems that Palo Alto Networks did not like this change. When we removed our Palo Alto of WAN device, PCoIP 5.2.0 connections could be created. We finally had create a rule to allow the category: private-ip-addresses and URL: pcoip - by default-sni. Once this change has been made, connections WAN PCoIP 5.2.0 started working.

  • Transport CANADA is no longer a part of my network, but my wifi network still works, for the most part. That's happened?

Until last night, I was able to see and edit my TC through the airport on my MBP or my iPad 2 Air utility. Now, I have received a message in the airport utility which said my TC is no longer part of my network and is no longer accessible.

  • understand the average physics to share the virtual disk

    Hello

I wanted to understand the physical way to share a virtual disk by configuring the scsi controller.

    ShareDisks.JPG

As you can see in the image as an attachment, I chose the option - "physical - virtual disks can be shared between virtual machines on a server any."

So, I have a scenario and please let me know if the above applies or not?

I have 2 ESX host. I have created a virtual machine on ESX host1 and now I want the virtual disk of the virtual machine to be shared and eventually used by the virtual machine on the other ESX host2. can I use the option above to satisfy my need?

Also on a special note, 2 ESX hosts are not on the shared storage. they run with their own local disk.

Still, I'll be able to do what I want?

    Thanks in advance.

No storage shared or using the storage equipment. The 2nd esxi host does not see the local storage on the original host.

Discover will have on the creation of a Cluster of Mirosft see how you can share disks. You can create a cluster in a box on the same host or use of RDM with shared storage to allow multiple vm' hosts aces acros the same storage.

  • Configure via missing WAN

So I try to implement my 4th gen airport Time Capsule Version 7.6.7, for use with a server that I can access via the internet. I've seen many tutorials that say I need to activate the configuration over WAN.

The image above is of the previous version of the utility AirPort and not my system.

Here's what it looks like on my system:

How am I able to get it set up on Wan and does not remove anything? Soon, any help would be wonderful!

    Thanks in advance!

There may be some configuration of remote access options in this article: AirPort Disk - access remote (3 methods)

In addition, the WAN configuration option is available on your base station? May need to set up there.

Hope that there is something of value here.

  • TC Wan

I have a 5th Gen Time Capsule ("TC") (firmware 7.7.7). I would like to extend the network wireless using a TC of Gen (firmware 7.6.7) 4th (TC both have the latest firmware available for them). I want to do it without an Ethernet cable connecting the two transport CANADA. I tried to follow instructions of devices Airport Extreme, nothing helps. The process works very well with the two TC connected by Ethernet. But I can't make it work wireless.

I went completely through these two:

Implement 802.11n (AirPort base stations: install and configure a wireless network extended (802.11n) - Apple Support) May 13, 2016

Configure 802.11 g (Wi - Fi base stations: extend the reach of your network wireless by adding additional base stations Wi - Fi - Apple Suppo...) August 11, 2015

The problem seems to be that the TC is tenacious, even if it's the expansion of the wireless network, it must be connected to the internet itself.

How is the installation of the Gen5 TC if it has no internet? He must have dhcp works at least for the installation to work.

Introduction to extend wireless should be the simplest possible configuration.

You factory reset the Gen4 TC before you start...? If you do this, it should pretty much work automatically.

Some screenshots where things go wrong help no end.

I just happen to have a TC Gen5 and a Gen4 in the same room so I can easily reproduce the Setup program.

It seems a little research on Google, it's more than a level higher than a real hardware device interface. I don't really know what it's for, or what is the probability I will miss it in the case of a recovery. Should I spend time worry right now?

The thread said http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/wan-miniport-sstp-driver-problem/f83493ae-8127-47dd-a7b7-7e5b3460b6a6 should not 'more often' but I was wondering if exceptions could be encountered during recovery (when I want to use WiFi to browse and restore my system to the State non - factory, as well as to make diagnoses on a HARD drive may be bad).

    Hello

AFAIK Miniport WAN is a part of the Ethernet controller and you will need to install the LAN / Wlan driver.
You should go to control panel-> network-> Lan-> properties control.
Here, you should check if all protocols are installed.

But as you have already said: it of not really a necessary point

  • Using time capsule secure airport on WAN

How can I access my Airport Time Capsule remotely?  What I need to 'allow the Setup program on Wan' or can I access it using a VPN and activation of the sharing feature?  If I WAN configuration is it secure?

"Allow installation over WAN" is necessary only if you want to use AirPort Utility on your Mac from a remote location to access and change the settings of the router from Apple. If you want only remote access to the data on the Time Capsule, you will not have to "allow the Setup program on Wan.

What is security, it is unlikely that someone else would know the public WAN IP address that your provider is provided for you, but even if they did, they would still have to enter a password for the device to enter the router configuration or access any other devices on your network.

Apple back to My Mac (BTMM) is by far the easiest game for users to implement with regard to access to the hard drive from a remote location via Internet Time Capsule. For a summary of this installer and other methods to connect to the Capsule remotely, see this excellent tip for expert forum user Tesserax:
