Treatment of multiparts programmatically SMS messages

Hi all

I am getting and concatenate multi part SMS with my app - however, I have some problem to access SMS messages header segments.

DatagramConnection datagramConnection = (DatagramConnection) Connector.open("sms://");

DatagramBase datagram = (DatagramBase) datagramConnection.newDatagram(datagramConnection.getMaximumLength());
datagramConnection.receive(datagram); // blocking

int segCount = 1;
int segNumber = 1;
String messageID = null;
try
{
  segCount = ((Integer) datagram.getProperty("sms-total-segments")).intValue();
  segNumber = ((Integer) datagram.getProperty("sms-segment-number")).intValue();
  messageID = ((Integer) datagram.getProperty("sms-ref-number")).toString();
}
catch (Exception e){
   // this is not a concatenated SMS
}

String sender = datagram.getAddress();
String text = new String(datagram.getData());

See you soon

    Not the answer to your question. But I think it will give more of your understanding of the problem.

    There is a way to send sms via applications through what we call servers SMS-gate.

    Usually the server SMS-door installed on the site of a wireless provider.

    And if you want to use this server, you must sign the contract with your provider of wireless and get access to this server. You will get technical documentation - addresses, protocols, URL, etc..

  • Group SMS messaging

    Is it possible that I can specify to use SMS to a particular group message?

    I have a group where I don't want everyone to have the number and each other, or what I want to do 'reply to all '.

    Are there other options if SMS is not an option?

    Perhaps an app that I can download?

    Hi there edwiley06,

    It's an interesting question you asked who had me try a few options. Just to clarify, you want to be able to send one group SMS message where others can not see the contact information of someone else, and responses are not sent to everyone in the group. I tried a few different ways, so I'll share what I found.

    To send a message to group with these settings, you disable iMessage and group messaging, but you will have to leave the MMS messaging on. When I sent a group text to my brothers and sisters, she didn't until I switched back on MMS. In my text, I asked if they could see all the coordinates and both answers came back that they couldn't. In addition, their responses are returned to me.

    Insofar as an app that you can use instead, I searched on the App Store by using the words "group message" and a number of pieces came. For those, you need to test them individually to find the right one for you.

    I hope this helps!

  • My iPhone is set up to autoforward SMS messages to another iPhone.  The first iPhone must be activated so that the SMS messages automatically to the front?

    I have a working iPhone which is implemented through iMessage auto before SMS to my personal iPhone.  If my work phone is not activated SMS messages don't not autoforward.  Must the phone working be enabled so that SMS autoforward work?

    Yes, in any kind of call or the transfer of text, each device in the relay channel must be turned on and connected to the network.

  • SMS messages "not delivered".

    I am looking for previous discussions and haven't seen much on this particular issue. My wife 6 IPhone (9.3.1) can not send (or apparently receive) SMS text messages.  iMessages work very well.  I confirmed that SMS messaging is enabled in the settings of course.  She took him to the AT & T store and they tried to change the card SIM, but that did not help at all (and for some reason, pretty much completely reset the phone settings).  They suggested that it might be a hardware problem... ?  Is there a separate or similar SMS radio chip?  Any ideas as anything else, we can try or check?  Thank you.

    Non - SMS is generally a problem of carrier and if iMessage works ok then the phone seems to be good

    It may be the SIM card at all - maybe it's the account on the backend setting

    This is a recent development? Has anything changed your side you know?

  • Disorders of SMS Message after update

    I recently updated to IOS 9.3 and OS x 10.11.4. Since these updates, I had difficulties to send SMS.  iMessages forward vigorously. But I often get errors failure-to-send three and four times in a row when trying to send an SMS message longer than one short sentence.

    I have friends with non-Apple devices I have text frequently. Before the latest updates, my SMS messages would pass them quickly. Not now.  I don't know how to make Apple aware of this situation. I sent a direct message to @AppleSupport on Twitter. Not sure how that will be effective.

    Does anyone else have this problem?

    Why would you make Apple aware of a program that has nothing to do with them or the update.

    SMS / text from always a function of carrier and not apple.

    If you are unable to send/receive text you can watch here If you cannot send or receive messages on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support

    If this does not work then contact your cell phone provider and ask them why their functionality does not work on your phone.

  • SMS messages send to the non-users of iPhone!

    good so I tried to send a message to my friend who is an Android user. For some reason, none of my SMS messages seem to cross. I can receive their message, but never received mine. The last time I texted him a week ago, they sent very well. The recent update could have anythinf to do with it? I did everything deactivation iMessage to reset my network in total! Help, please!

    Please check if your problem in SIM card or service provider number. If possible, transfer your SIM card in another phone and try to send someone a generic SMS message. If it works on another phone, so the question is your iPhone. If it is not in contact with your service provider for a replacement of SIM card or help.

    If your iMessage is on,

    Go to settings > Messages > Send as SMS (turn on)

    You can also try to go in send / receive and make sure that 'Start New Conversations From' has your check number.

    To learn more, contact Apple support.

  • How does SMS Messages?

    I am trying to understand the functioning of the Messages:

    (1) is it only show the Apple special messages or regular SMS messages come here also?  Can I send text messages to phones that can not be iPhones? I just received an SMS on my iPhone that does not appear on the Messages app that I opened on my MacBook Air.

    (2) the station icon for my application of Messages open a little red "1" on this subject, but I don't see a new message in the Messages - How can I find out who are the new unread messages?

    (3) once I am connected to Messages, can I make and take calls on my OS X laptop 10.9.5 via my iPhone on the same wifi network?

    Just to be sure, all your questions relate to these features on your Mac? They have been added to the Mac with the upgrade to OS X Yosemite. You'll need spend as Mavericks to use.

    With respect to the Dock icon, new messages have a small blue dot to the left of the name of contacts - it looks like a new message on the iPhone.

  • A way to send and receive the SMS messages on ThinkPad T440 with Sierra EM7345

    I have a T440 with Sierra LTE. It works fine to connect to mobile networks.

    But here in New Zealand, one of our suppliers also provides free wifi hotspots to customers on certain plans. To use this property, I have to enter a password which is sent to me by SMS.

    Is it possible that I can display SMS messages sent to the SIM card inside my laptop?

    Now, I need to remove the SIM card from my ThinkPad (with all the hassles that implies), paste it into my phone, get the password, then transfer the SIM card in my ThinkPad (and often do not, it is y no food taken located nearby, so I can't restart because I had to disable the internal battery during the installation/uninstallation of the SIM card).

    So, if someone can point to a way I can just see these SMS messages on my ThinkPad, I'm grateful enernally.

  • Audible alert options for SMS messages

    Why is it after all the releases of the webos you can't always choose different sounds for incoming SMS messages?  The sound of an incoming message is also identical to an incoming message.  I submitted an application for this feature with justification several months back and still no change.  They have a high priority for change the clock police but not the sound alert for SMS single and adjustable?

    The problem here is that I am a COMPUTER professional who is oncall 24 x 7.  I use SMS messages to inform me of any databases and server problem that must be solved immediately.  With the PRE, the sound is so light that I never hear it while I SLEEP.  The alert is too soft, too quiet, too short and sound identical to spam entering the phone.  I need an alert that will make noise.  I've owned three other phones palm I used for this same purpose and never had a problem before.  They were the Treo 300 600 and 700.

    Does anyone else have this problem?  Or people buy this phone as a gadget and not care about audible alerts SMS?  I think that people in the I / T field are the main users of this device and it would be a major difficulty.  I might have to empty this phone just for the next short if it isn't fixed soon or I might do a bad evaluation at work ( ).

    PALM, help out me here!

    If you open the messaging application, in the menu drop down go to preferences & accounts. There is 'Sound' by default its alarm system. You can change into a ringtone to choose from all your ringtones, you can add any mp3 to ringtone PRE list which allows them to select what you want. This does not change your ringtone for calls, which remains the same.

    The email app, you can only use the default tone he has. Or you can turn it off, set to vibrate. These options are in the accounts section & Pref in the email app, click on the email account and they are raised.

    Edit: I'm still in 4.4.4

    I had this problem in the past with me bike origin x and s3, this has nothing to do with the phone. It is a network of the USC problem. #228 and it should fix the problem. It normally happens to me when I am roaming.

  • SMS messages that appear in the wrong order

    I've had this phone for 1 week verizon's version now, and from the beginning I was using Message + for texting. Since yesterday I have SMS messages or send/recieve began to appear in the wrong order. For example, USUALLY the person who finally got a text Message from their conversation thread is displayed at the top of the list. Now, it's not happeneing. In addition, in a conversation thread most recent SMS sent/received message does not appear in consecutive order. Rather, older messages (from yesterday) will appear at the bottom, and to see the latest messages sent/received I need to scroll to the top of the older posts. Why my texts appear without all of a sudden? Any ideas?

    Message + is not an app Sony stock so if you have a problem with it either to your network or the developer of the game store for example to bring that to their attention
