Two Pavilion computers: HP Support Assistant Server error

Two Windows 10 machines fully patched and works perfectly.  It is three months, the other four months old and up to date to win 10 version 1511.  HP Support Assistant worked very right up until two or three days ago.

On both machines, if I check the version of product updates, HPSA scans for a minute or two and then warns the following-'server connectivity issues were found.  Please try again later. "If I have HPSA will search for messages and updates, nothing happens except that the analysis runs and runs indefinitely.  If you stop the scan, closed HPSA but then re - will not open unless the computer is restarted.

HP may have a server problem, judging by some of the other jobs on HPSA and scanning.  However, this type of problem has developed before (years), and that could be a problem of jamming one of the newest latest updates Windows or Windows Defender antivirus definitions.

I haven't the time to uninstall the updates to solve problems.  I leave alone HPSA and see if that sorts it.  If this isn't the case, HPSA can always be uninstalled.  You can get updates from the driver through Device Manager.

Very busy at work.  I'll check in a few days to see if someone has something new to report.

Dave

Just ran Support Assistant on two pavilions.  Connected to the server to check updates and device updates and messages.  Worked well.  In my case, the question seems to have been resolved - to that for now.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Unless you still have the installer, download the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the page on the link below - download links are to the bottom of the page - and Save the installer to your download folder.

    http://h18021.www1.HP.com/helpandsupport/HP-support-Assistant.html

Then, if you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip.  Please note that If you have a 64-bit installation, download and install the Installer x 64 64-bit .msi on the link below.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

Then, right click on the HPSA installer you download earlier, select Extract 7 - Zip, select the files, and then click Ok.  The newly extracted folder, right-click on UninstallHPTCA and select "Run as Administrator" - you may well see no progress of this attempt uninstalling, then leave the laptop at idle for a good 10 minutes before restarting it.

When Windows has completely recharged, run Microsoft 'Fixit' on the link below again before trying to install the new version of HPSA...

  • HP Support Assistant fatal error 1603

I have a 2 week old Envy 15-j151sa. This morning I noticed that an icon for HP Support Assistant had appeared on my desk, it did not exist before. I thought that maybe he had updated itself so I clicked on the icon, but as soon as he tried to open it it crashed. The message says "Error 1316 HP Support Assistant. The specified account already exists. Then followed another message "1603 Fatal error during installation". Windows Installer Help, msi.chm or MSDN for more information "then finally,-3.

I tried to uninstall HPSA and re-setup, by using SP68201, but I just get everything above. That means "the specified account already exists." What account is this?

    Thanks for any help.

Ok. I had sorted it. I used a Microsoft Fixit, uninstall and install Fixit. That allowed me to remove the offending are based of HPSA. Then, I was able to install the last sp68201.

  • Pavilion A7F22AV: HP Support Assistant problem

I download the latest version of HP Support Assistant. This is the version 8.1.52.1. For unknown reasons, a yellow exclamation point is on the question mark icon blue HP Support Assistant updates the day I planned the HP and messages. I know from experience after which means I have to open HP Support Assistant and decide on something. I watch the action log and messages and there is nothing to comment on, and I see no update has been done.   The only way I can get rid of exclamation point on the icon question mark HP Support Assistant is to RESTART my computer. What is causing the exclamation on the HP Support Assistant icon?

    Drumman2, welcome to the forum.

If you have enabled for Messages and updates and there is nothing available, I suggest you uninstall HPSA and install the version appropriate for your computer from here.  It is possible that a problem has occurred when you installed it.  I've seen this kind of problem before.

  • Pavilion g7: hp support assistant interrupts constantly

HP Support Assistant dialog box always appears and makes my laptop slower execution.

the dialog box displays "this application has encountered a serious problem and needs to close.  Click OK to automatically restart the application. "However, no request has been closed.  If I click close in the box if displayed, it nothing happens.  I have to click with the right button on the symbol of question mark in the dialog box, then choose 'Close this window'... then it takes a while before the dialog box disappears.  How can I get rid of this feature?

Go to Control Panel, programs and Features to uninstall it. Retart your laptop to finish. If you want to try the latest version which should work better you can download it from here to install it.

  • Pavilion DV6T: HP Support Assistant said there is a newer version, but will not install

HPSA said that there is a newer version of the wizard of support, but when I clicked to install it, it does not install it.

It's the screenshot showing what I get after that upgrade to the new version. How can I fix it?

    @DennyC

HPSA 7.6.x version is perfectly acceptable, in my opinion - and by staying with Version 7.x, your HPSA still provides the focus feature, something lacking in the last series of HPSA V8.x.

For later use, you can - if you want - download and install from Microsoft .NET Framework.

    Examples:

Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Web Installer)

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 (Offline Installer)

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 (Web installation program)

You might consider to download copies of all your latest Windows 7 drivers Support Page your laptop - these support pages tend to stick around... until they don't.  You can save on your computer if you need copies later.  You can change the name of each .exe file to include a description of the driver, or you can download and keep a copy of the support page.  You can also check the properties of each of your downloaded .exe file to display the name of the content.

  • Pavilion dv1060us: HP SUPPORT ASSISTANT for the XP NOT FUNCTIONING

Just reinstalled Windows XP Pro. I don't get notifications of HP drivers or updates to the BIOS as before.  How to reactivate the wizard?  I tried the automated on the support site, but it only works with Win7 and beyond.

It is perhaps because Windows XP is no longer supported by anyone.  If possible, try upgrading to Windows Vista or 7.

Given that you just re-installed Windows XP, you will not lose a lot of things because you don't have much. I would like to get a new computer, especially if you guessed it with Windows 2000 or XP brand new, I think that the hard drive will not last much longer.

  • Pavilion 11 x 360 PC: HP support Assistant could not update the bios

    Hello
I have a laptop with the name of the model: 11 x 360 PC Pavilion.
HP Support Assistant failed to update the new Bios. I got windows and I tried again to day but also failed.

    Best regards
    Mohsen

You already have the latest version of the BIOS installed on your computer.

HPSA gives a false update of the notification you and suggest that you disable the notification.  It is one of the many problems besetting the HPSA in Windows 8.
