  Such an external Notebook Cooler will not help you solve this problem. The internal cooling fan is designed and tested for this laptop and everything will work perfectly even on high usage. External cooling is not necessary.

  It's old enough laptop model, so I imagine that a lot of dust blocking the cooling fan. Therefore, clean it with a jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans. The exact procedure is described here:

  I'll share my questions here, just in case someone else comes on this post and wants a definitive answer, as I did...

  My problem
  My computer randomly shuts down as if the power was out.   I use the combo of security point thing.  I will then get in the phone... go do something and then hey look, BLACK SCREEN.  Well it is cutting itself.  I had this happen at least 7 times now.  Occasionally I can use it for a few moments, and then it happens again.

  I would try the following:

  Start in SafeMode so that the no you have installed applications won't loaded. Turn off the Droid.   If this sounds too difficult so I suggest going to a Verizon store. Go to a 'real' store of Verizon, not a wireless Zone franchise.
