  Hello, Stanley.

  A cisco console cable probably will not work since they usually have a RJ-45 on one end.  However, a regular serial cable should work just fine, as long as your computer has one, or you have a USB serial adapter.

  The parameters for the console port are as follows:

  Bits per second: 38 400

  Data bits: 8

  Parity: None

  Stop bits: 1

  Flow control: no

  Once you open the connection, you will need to hit enter once something appears.

  You can also check this switch via telnet console, by connecting to the IP address of switches with a telnet client and use admin as user name with a blank password.

  I use a Dell Inspiron 700 m family machine with Windows XP Edition as an OEM installation. I wanted to try a commercially available cloud operating system just for fun. I installed it on my assembled desktop PC and everything works great, and then I decided to install it on my laptop, that everything is OK until I restarted Windows to the end of the installation. The Boot Manager does not restart and started directly in the new operating system. I know that the windows installation is still on my laptop because I can see the files in the file browser in the other operating system. I know that this probably isn't the place to ask for another operating system, but they do not yet have answers. For your information, I'll give you the name of the operating system I installed and give you the address of the download page. I am out of Windows XP and the new operating system is unable to console me anyway.

  Yesterday my software anti-virus let me know that a virus was trying to access my computer, had quarantined it and claimed a reboot of my Portege M200 to remove it completely. Restart, the laptop is not actually restart and just hung. It gets past the Toshiba window and crashes. I tried to start in safe mode but nothing helped. It starts to load files and crashes to a particular system file that is obviously now corrupt. I tried to enter my recovery console using Windows XP Recovery discs, but was unable to do so. The discussions on this forum have been useful, however I still have not solved the problem.

  I have my product recovery DVD-ROM, but I'm afraid to use it as the next warning with her said that reformatting will lose all my work and I do not know if it will automatically reformat my hard drive (which I have no back ups of my work) or I will give a choice? Also, I see BONES of your forums, that it will correct not actually of corrupted files. I've also seen queues to make an image ghost on a floppy drive but I don't have a floppy drive on my Portege M200.

  You are right about image recovery. Recovery image is designed to clean BONES only and there is no option for the repair of the BONE. What you can try is to get the disc of Microsoft WXP installation and Startup Repair option.

  I hope this will help you and you will be able to boot OS preinstalled. If it will work on the first back up all your important data.

  If you are able to connect to the server of Maxl Essbase.

  I try to install the VMware Remote Console Plug-in for my browser of 32-bit Internet Explorer 11, and I get an error message during installation: "Unable to install the driver of hcmon."

  I have Windows 7 64 bit with .NET installed 4.5.5. Anything installed in my device manager, there is no hcmon.

  Also, I got an error on the USB in my Windows logs Arbitration Service, but following the steps described here, and retry the installation also failed with the same error 'hcmon' described above:

  I have installed and configured the services foundation, eas and essbase in windows 2003 server, afteEA r configuration I have observed that there are no tables for eas schema then I found that it was a bug and applied patch and set up again it has been successfully configured.

  When I tried to connect to the administration via the regional service console server. He States unable to connect to the administration server. everything else works.

  I see only 4 services in services.msc

  Oracle hyperion configuration manager

  EMP web server application

  opmn services

  OSH services

  all services are started with the exception of oracle hyperion configuration manager. I tried to start, but it does not start... is - this service has an impact on the administration server.

  I checked the logs, I can't find anything in easserver.log.

  any suggestions?

  Looks like you have deployed web applications to a single managed server that is running on a port by default of 9000, then try to add the server to the Regional service as servername:9000

  OK so Essbase is now running, so you should be able to test a connection through Maxl, run c:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\EssbaseServer\essbaseserver1\bin\startMaxl.bat

  I have setup a new vCenter to replace the old (new on MS server 2008, an old man on MS server 2003), but after registering the VM´s, I am not able to connect to them with the console. Error message: unable to connect to the MKS: Timeout during an attempt to read

  If you use vcenter to manage your servers from another computer. You should try to disable the windows firewall on the vcenter computer that manages the esx server.   I installed the whole EPM 11.1.1.3 on Windows x 64 platform. When I try to connect the server essbase through the Regional service console, I get the following error:

  The customer has expired waiting to connect to Essbase Agent using the TCP/IP protocol.
  Check your network connections.
  Also, make sure that the values for server and port are correct
  
  I checked the CFG file, which shows the correct port as well. I can connect to the Administration of Essbase server located on the same machine, but do not know why I get this error message. Below I have pasted the contents of the CFG file, in case where someone wants to cross check it out.

  There is a clue in the error message and the CFG file you posted.

  The error message:
  ...
  Unable to connect to [localhost:1423].
  ...

  CFG file indicates:

  ...
  ; AGENTPORT 1423
  ...
  AGENTPORT 1424
  ...

  The port default (1423) is commented out and changed in 1424. Your EAS connection must use port 1424 and not default to 1423.

  Try to use "localhost:1424" (without the quotes) in the Essbase server field when you add the Essbase server to EAS.

  Hi guys, I have first pick in forums and countless other sites including instances of Bethesda Softworks.
  You have 2 similar cases with the console of the game Fallout 3.
  However, I turned to Microsoft for answers, because I found the problem: just need a specific solution.

  Information on my computer:

  Dell Studio XPS 1340 (laptop)
  Windows Vista Ultimate updated to service pack 2 (64-bit)

  To only justify some obvious things:
  -Yes my computer meets and exceeds the requirements of the game.
  -Yes the ~ button works in other programs.
  -Yes, I tried Shift + ' do ~ in the game (does not work)
  -Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game
  -Not my computer did not come with a remote
  -J' entered in the menu options (in the game) and changed another command for example like button next with ~ to see if the game was recognized and it didn't.

  There are a few bugs that can be made initially to counter the problem with the console.

  • Change the size of the screen so that you can see the "missing" console (where infact it was just out of sight)
  • Set up the document Oblivion.ini - bAllowConsole = 1 (corrected most of the problems where it was set to 0)
  • Download a mod to change the game and use it to activate the console in a different way (in this case using equipping an item)
  • If you have Microsoft Media Center, then; Disable the MIRC / Microsoft transceiver eHome infrared (or (EC) ITECIR infrared receiver), or inside of the appliance to manage

  My specific problem I have identified is that my laptop has a built-in infrared censor (and has the installed Microsoft Media Center), this has been identified on many forums as contradictory with the game console button (~). According to most of the solutions that have been validated by disabling it should fix it.

  I found the Microsoft eHome infrared transceiver AND IR receiver ITECIR (EC) in my device manager under human interface devices.
  But I can not disable - the option is greyed out =)
  (And Yes, I'm the administrator of this computer [the only account as well])

  So to make a very long explanation to a question.
  How can I disable the infrared in my device manager hardware when I am the administrator, but it is grayed out?

  I was searching Google earlier, I have the same problem. Sometimes I play a game called "Farcry" and in order to show the console (for once coming from servers if they are tks, spwnkillers, cheaters, etc, and of course the order entry), I have to set up the "key (located under my ESC key). Until today, I have to keep uninstalling 'infrared transceiver Ehome' whenever I start my computer laptop, or sometimes just when I connect a mouse or something.
  Fortunately, I found a solution on Google :) (The below is copied from another forum):

  (* Note that if you have Microsoft Ehome... you click right on this and uninstall for number of step 3).

  (5) turn the SSDP Discovery:
  -Follow the signs to start and select 'Manual' from the drop-down menu (Startup Type)-> Apply-> OK
