Unwanted Indian call center calls

I received a phone call from a person claiming to be a technician Microsoft informing me that my computer has problems that I might not be aware and asking me to connect it to my computer so that problems could be fixed. I was suspicious and asked for proof of their good faith. They have insisted that they acted on behalf of Microsoft. I asked was there a fee for this service which told me only if I decided to have it fixed. I refused! How these scammers get our personal information and Microsoft is doing to prevent what is happening and how they advise their clients to ensure safety?

They simply chose your details in a telephone directory, or perhaps one e-mail sent you to a friend whose computer is infected with a virus.

I just had a phone call very similar to some that I read on the forum.

The man was of Indian origin saying his name was Mike Davies of Microsoft in Oxfordshire and our computer had generated error reports that slowed.

He wanted me to RUN a file named prefetch unwanted files, I was a little dubious and told him that I had to pay for my computer and it is supposed to be remembered!

  • dealing with the unwanted incoming call to SX 20 during the Conference

Could someone help me please with a problem I have with a new system of SX20.

Is it possible that the system can be set to do not disturb when the first call is in place?

The Polycom VSX 7000, there is a setting in the option multipoint-to-multipoint auto-répondre calls, no auto answer or reject the call.

This means that the first call can be set to auto answer mode and all calls will be rejected.

Is it possible that the SX20 can be put in place in this same mode - auto answer the first call and then dismiss all other incoming calls in "do not disturb" mode

The only option that seems to work is either reject all calls or unwanted calls "ringing" in the session.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

You can change default "Allow" on "deny".

    Conference 1 IncomingMultisiteCall Mode: enable

Deny: An incoming call will be rejected if you are already in a call. You will not be notified
on the incoming call. However, the call will appear as a missed call in the call history list.

  • How to show multiple photos and remove unwanted Windows Media Center photos?

Original title: Windows Medica Center - get photos

I have updated from Vista to 7. I loaded hundreds of photos in the computer since then.

However, I can see only one photo at a time. How can I view multiple photos at a time and how I delete unwanted photos?

    Thank you

    Hi jdhill93,

You cannot view several pictures at the same time on a single screen on Windows Media Center.
See See pictures and videos in Windows Media Center

Step 1: Remove a photo from your computer
    a. on the Windows Media Center start screen, access images + videos and then click picture library.
    b. navigate to the image you want to delete, click on the image, click on remove and then click Yes.

Note: Deleting files permanently removes files from your computer. Back up the files before deleting.

  • Anyone receiving calls from Microsoft Windows (call center from India by the sounds of it) saying that you have a corrupted file? Or is it a scam?

We received a call last night from someone who claimed to be the Windows technical department saying that our computer has a file corrupted Microsoft on this issue.  First name: Richard Williams.  0261 004030 callback number.  Sounds like an Indian call center.

I can't believe that cold Microsoft calls people.

A quick search on google news suggests that people in Britain were targeted by something similar.

  • Auto unwanted calls hit on my E Expressway

    Dear all,

The unwanted automatic call hitting my E. Expressway from [email protected]/ * /.

How can I avoid or block it so that this appeal will stop hiting on my EXP_E.

Also suggest me if I want to block temporary external public VC call and how do I do this?

    Thanking you.

It is a well known problem that has been raised repeatedly in recent years. Take a look at some of the threads in this thread: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12484441/hack-attack-vcs-express and this could be interesting:.

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/discussion/12472426/rogue-calls-Expressway-e-can-they-be-blockeddropped

In short, you can block these types of calls by a combination of CPL and search rules, the corresponding section in the Administrator's guide is referenced in some of the threads.

You will not be able to stop these calls hit your E, but at least you can prevent these calls succeed, Yes, they will appear in the call log, but that's all.

If you want to block all external calls, you will need to put behind a firewall and do not allow something external.

Moreover, for calls SIP that you can prevent a large number of these calls by disabling SIP UDP, however, prevent the H.323 calls is not as simple as that.

I had 4 phone calls during the month. The first, I was late for an appointment, and I had to go. Fortunately, I had time to think and realized it was a scam... Be caught unawares gives them the advantage

The second, I knew it was a scam. I listened and then never said thank you and hung up.

During the 4th, I was ready for a little fun. First of all, I unplugged the ethernet from the modem, just to be doubley sure.

He guided me through his wicked manouevers, and every time I lied I did. When it asked me to press the Microsoft icon to the right of the Ctrl key and 1, I said "I have an Apple on this key". He said 'you have a Mac. I said: 'no, I have Windows to the top. Microsoft icon beside the right Ctrl key. A man with a voice of Indian call center called and asked my friend to connect to his computer because they knew that she had had problems with the help and he called for a "windows service center.  She asked for a number to call back and he hung up.  There is a phishing scam rightnow?

It is a phishing attempt! Do not give any information.

Reported people on these calls for a person who represents Windows (note: not Microsoft).

It is a scam! Not to follow their instructions or advice and not to provide ANY information to them.

Because they use the internet lines and/or phone to complete their fraud, there may be federal agencies in your country who are interested in discovering their calls. Their report directly to the appropriate agency if you feel you can contribute to their arrest and the charges.

Microsoft do NOT pick up the phone and start dialing customers and never phones/e-mails asking for personal information or asking them to visit a web site!

    Hello

    It's a scam.

Microsoft does not contact you unless YOU have made prior arrangements with them to do.

There is an article in the link I'm you provide at the end of this one

    Read this Information from Microsoft:

Either these so-called "Microsoft" Tech companies want to sell you a worthless software, or remote access to your computer to try to steal your credit card and bank information and also achieve an identity theft on you.

If you gave them remote access and you did the Internet banking, you'd then contact your bank, to explain, and change passwords.

If you have used your online credit card, you should cancel it and get a new one issued to you.

And the only way you should know that you are free to them is to backup your data and do a clean install of your operating system.

  • Error followed by phone call report scam.

    Hi all

4-5 days, I allowed my system to make an error report after a glitch that makes Windows close. I have not done this before and hardly have these glitches.

Today, I got a phone call from an Indian call centre telling me that they were Microsoft answering my error report. They had checked and found a deadly Virus that they could correct if I accepted were using their protector of the Advance system. This would eliminate the problems that I had seen (I'm NOT having continuous problems) and speed up my PC.

I could barely hear what was said the helmet/phone line were terrible, and I told them.

They said I could join their system of protection to 70 books online and my cyber-world would be safer and faster.

I said that if their software was as bad as their phone equipment, I wasn't interested.

However, my REAL concern is that it was the only time where I received my system Windows make an error report. It seems strange that my error report has been so closely followed this call scam.

This company there in detail the report error and my phone number.

Or was it just a coincidence.

    Thanks for any input.

The phone call was not from Microsoft. I suspect that your computer is infected and the 'error report' you got the malware, which sounds like a rogue security program came. Make sure that the computer is clean.

If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). Please be aware that not all shops are skilled at removing malware, and even if they are, your computer may be so infested that Windows will have to be properly installed. If possible, have all your data backed up before taking the machine into a shop.
