Update on Satellite S70-B-10N wireless card

Hello

Just got a laptop above this morning and I would like to upgrade the card wireless inside an AC7260 module. There is a significant lack of documentation on the inside of this laptop with no info on youtube either.

Research on Amazon there are several variations of portable different for the AC7260 and I'm not sure there is anyone know what model number is made for this machine?

Also did anyone know if this port is accessible by simply removing the backplate of the laptop because there is no access panel and I did not want to try to remove the keyboard.

Thanks in advance
A

The laptop was equipped with the Intel Wilkins Peak1 WLan card / module combo BT

So I guess it's the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 module, such as reported by this Web site.

    Hello

I think that the PA3416U-1MPC should be compatible.
I mean the laptop supports wireless Mini-PCI network card and PA3416U-1MPC is a Mini-PCI wireless network card.

The WLan antenna behind the screen of the laptop computers must be connected to the connectors on the wireless Mini-PCI network card.

No there's a white list of BIOS that will prevent the installation of any wireless card other than that provided by HP with the original from the sale of the unit. And there must be a version of HP of the card, not only the same chipset. Pages 57-58 lists the options available:

  • Satellite 1905-S303 PCI Wireless card does not start code 10

I put a PCI BCM94306PM broadcom wireless card in my laptop. The laptop is equipped with led however one is damaged and can not be connected, these cards may work with only one side and I even read somewhere that they can work on a short range with no led. My problem is the Device Manager indicates that the device cannot start code 10. I have a fresh install of XP Pro SP1 (not from the original restore disk). With this in mind, I think there must be some Toshiba utility or the missing driver to allow the map to work. Any help appreciated.

    Hello

Code 10 means that it is not present, not working not properly, or does not have all the drivers installed.
In this case you need to download the latest driver on Toshiba website and install it.

Yes, I think that all wireless with drivers Windows 98 PCMCIA cards would be OK, perhaps that some of them are for max. 11 Mbps transfer speed only...

  • Satellite L300-17N (PSLBCE) - wireless card does not work

    Hello

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite L300 (PSLBCE) that came without any operating system and the dirvers. I installed WXP PRO SP2 above and downloaded all the drivers from the Toshiba site. Everything has been installed ok and functional except for the WLAN card. The wireless network card, it is a Realtek RTL8187B but it is not recognized by my laptop: if I Check Device Manager it does not appear (it does appear that "Network controller" with yellow mark). Then I went to Realtek website and download new drivers from there and installed again... also with these dirvers WLAN card still not recognized.

No idea this coud be the problem? I don't know that I have downloaded the correct dirvers from Toshiba Web site as well as the Realtek site... but none of them helped. The chipset drivers have also been installed and also the last BIOS version (my BIOS version is newer than the one on the site of toshiba with the drivers for this model)
May this be a conflict with the other dirvers or WXP PRO SP2?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy

Satellite L300-17N does not support Realtek RTL8187B but Intel 11 a/b/g (13ch) - Golan Wlan card.

I recommend to visit the portal of Toshiba Europe WLan and recommend to download and install the driver Intel WLan from here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/?page=downloads

Here, you can try the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945/4965/5100/5300 driver package!

    I would appreciate your comments

  • Satellite L505 - 10K lose wireless card comes and goes

Im having a problem with my new Satellite L505 - 10K.

I lost my internettconnection when I was surfing. So I tried to fix it. The computer did not map.
Then I rebooted (3 times), is still no map. the key 'FN and F8' was disabel (are not when I press FN)
I looked in the device under network adapters Manager: only Realtek PCi Lan was which are listed there.
So for me it looks like not the card has been broken. but when I take the computer to a walk in another House to get help. then the card is back.

Is this a problem anyone knows?
To me, it looks like a connection inside the computer problem?

    Hello

To be honest, I also don t know the reason for this, but first, I would try to update the WLAN driver. You can find it on the Toshiba site.

Also, make sure that you use the latest version of the BIOS.

In the worst case there s a hardware problem and you need help, but authorized service I guess that your laptop is under warranty, the repair should be free.

    Hello

Your machine was built before 2015, so the opportunity to upgrade wirless card is very thin votes to zero. But its Service and Maintenance Guide (page 4), it has aerial support for 802.11a/b/g/n with 2 × 2 MIMO support even with standard n, you are still very good speed.

  • Satellite Pro 6000 - pc wireless card only works in one slot

    Hello

I have a problem with my wireless pc card.
It works in a slot, but when plugged in the other it gets stuck on acquiring network address.
Is it possible to fix it, or are the two different ports.

    Hey Buddy,

According to the manual the two slots is normal PC card connectors so that the WLAN card should run in both slots.

But why is it so important that map PC works in both slots?
You have another PC card that you can test in the second slot?

What operating system you are using and what WLAN card is it exactly?

    Hi Fred

Have you tried to start the Hardware Wizard? If the card is there it will be shown, and if the card will not be detected that it is possible that this card has been removed.

    Hello

I assume that the laptop has been delivered without any WiFi card and you have installed the minPCI wireless network card. Am I wrong?
Well, first of all, how did you install the wireless network adapter?
As far as I know there are Brown and white 2 cables. The white goes to the hand and Brown to auxiliary voltage
Then Device Manager should recognize the device is an additional device. I put t know what WLan card you use, but the drivers compatible, you should find on the Wlan card manufacturers website.

On the left side for laptop, you'll find a Wlan antenna switch. This switch must be turned on (LIT) If you want to use the Wlan

  • Update internal laptop DV6500 Wifi N Wireless card?

    Hi all

I was looking to see if it was possible to upgrade my laptop wifi internal card a G wireless with a Wireless N card.  I would avoid making the USB card or expresscard because the expresscard is too expensive and you can't really find them much more, and just USB sticks out too far and use USB ports.  It seems that it is not difficult to do the physical replacement, I found the card looks like, it can be all just unscrewed and replaced.  However, after looking at some threads here and other observations and comments online, it seems you need to find just the right part to do, even if I did not really reach a concrete conclusion as to which is the right side and where.  It seems that HP is quite picky about what cards you can put in those laptops.

So my question is, if I want to do an upgrade of a Wi - Fi N, is there a compatible card to use my laptop?  Here are my specs:

    Laptop DV6500z

    AMD Athlon X 2 64 1.8 gHz processor

    4 GB of ram

    Windows 7 32 bit

Wi - fi + bluetooth (which is another question, is bluetooth built-in wifi module or is separated in this laptop?)

I looked at the maintenance and Service of Guide (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01295877.pdf), and he mentions on the bottom of page 4 top of page 5, the types of wifi modules.  It shows a few Intel ones and some Broadcom ones.  In my hardware device manager it appears as a Broadcom 802.11 g network adapter.  On the module itself, it does not seem to show a lot of additional information...  It simply shows the part number 441090-001.  After watching this pn in HP partsurfer, I get the following description:

    Wireless 802. 11 b / g mini PCI card (Broadcom, Hoya) adapter - 54 Mbps data rate

So which PN I get at this level to WiFi N?  Thank you!

Actually, scratch that... I guess I won't do anything else with this 'thing'. Finally, he gave the soul the other day, and nothing I've done has been able to revive. Owell. RIP I guess. Whatever...

    Hi nthorne1,

All WLAN drivers, you can find on the official Portal of Toshiba WLAN:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

And no one here can tell you which driver you are interested exactly if you n t see more info on your laptop, but it will help you:
