Update problem (Windows XP)

Automatic update of windows every day keeps updating. Even if I put it at the weekend only he keeps updating even during the week. It still have the same update content. Here is the content (in order):

Office-KB980470

Windows Xp-KB977816
KB978338
KB979683
KB980232
KB981332

Office one note-KB980729

Office outlook-KB981433

Office-KB981715 system

KB890830-malicious software removal

All is well now. The problem is that whenever I try to install these files by closing it doesn't install at all, but he takes his time to install (in closing), even if it's not installed well. But by installing them manually (from the task bar), it is installed. But I don't know what are the cause of these problems. Hope that there will be an update which fix this kind of problem.

A few days ago I got updates not installed nearly 100, but my laptop has been stuck at 0 KB to download and made no progress.  I finally downloaded a Microsoft Tool that is supposed to fix the errors in the software update that claims to fix many things (but except 0 x 80070057).

Later he enrolled as ever after searching updates, and when I tried to look for it would just get updates constantly without result.  Restores system attempt to before the bug was encountered failed.

I finally gave up and returned to the factory (from partition) settings, but my new installation has the same problems, so I don't have any update that it is and can not find them with the "search for updates".

I don't know what to do here exactly.

  • Update problem Windows Windows 7 Home Premium

I have problems with windows update and download.  Not updating current definiton, but that before 1.87.836.0 when I tried to download after you search for updates it faiiled twice. According to me, because I had many programs upward. Once I left the programs that I could not download the update. He wasn't there when I checked the updates. Even when I turned off my computer and turn it on again and the update wasn't even there and now update definition 1.87.1042.0 later has downloaded and still no 1.87.836.0 updates. My question is can I still get the update when checking for update updates on the window of the window cannot find it? Are there other ways I can get this update failed? Also I tried downloading the update of definition from the Microsoft Web site, but it did not work. Thanks for any help.

Are you referring to Windows Defender updates or...?

Updates for the defender and Forefront (Microsoft Security Essentials) are successive and cumulative times. In other words, if v1.87.1042.0 (or v1.87.1076.0) is installed, you don't need v1.87.836.0 as cancels and replaces the old (replacees) the latter.

In short, don't you worry in this regard as a defender (I guess) is auto-updated at least twice a week.

  • HP EliteBook 850 G3: HP EliteBook 850 G3: its problems after the update of Windows 10 anniversary

    Hi people!

After the update of Windows 10 birthday I have problems with my sound card. There are two sound cards listed by Device Manager. The first is "Conexant Audio of ISST" and the second "Intel High Definition Audio". I know not weather it was the case before the update. I just recognized it after the update when I had sound problems.

In any case, on a sound start works on the other boot it does not work. It seems that Windows chooses the sound card, every time when it starts. Sometimes it takes the bad sound card.

I tried to uninstall maps its and their resettlement. On the HP site, there is a driver for the Conexant map bot no driver for Intel High Definition Audio card. 10 Windows itself is not find a driver for this sound card. I also tried to reinstall the other drivers, chipset drivers for example. But unfortunately it did not help. I also tried to disable the Intel High Definition Audio, but also without success.

What else can I try? I don't want to reinstall Windows. There must be a solution without this. Any ideas? Here's a screenshot of my device manager, perhaps it helps:

If you need more information, please let me know.

    Best regards

    Ty

I just tried this driver and I still have sound after 6 resets.

I have an audio problem, then before moving to Windows 10 or the update of the anniversary of the audio working properly after the update I noticed immediately that the sound is distorted or "crunches".
I haven't identified the problem because it's random, very often and it's very annoying, my sound system is its IDT DTS + I tried to reinstall the drivers with the latest version but some of the problem persists...
Only, I noticed that the problem is more 'feel' when the bass setting is higher or when I change the audio setting to my taste.
I ask you to help also became very boring because without my custom settings is really horrible!
    Thank you.

    Hi there @Alexcpp,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that, after the update of Windows 10 anniversary, you had some sound problems.  I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

Check the support page for your model of HP Pavilion 500-215el desktop PC, there don't seem to be updated drivers, and you have already tried to reinstall existing ones.

You can always try to use the HP Support Assistant, HP PCs - using HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7) to see if there is a driver available that is not displayed on the support page. It is unlikely, but there is always a chance that the page has not yet updated.

Another possibility is to make some adjustments on your system, just in case there is another driver or software that interferes with the audio, which could cause problems of lag. You can try the search, even if these: computers HP - computer is slow (10 Windows), HP - slow Internet troubleshooting (10, 8 Windows) computers.  They are never a waste of time because often there is something that could help the overall performance of the system.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

    Hey,.

I have problems with the automatic update on windows 7 64 bit. I bought this laptop (Toshiba Satellite L650 - 11Z) last July.

When the computer begins to do the automatic update, there a while and reports the problems mentioned in the subject.

I tried to find help for Windows support, but there is a statement, that if windows is installed in the laptop before buying it, I should consult the producer of the computer.

    Hello

I found this info on the 800706BE error:
+ Error 800706BA is a standard Windows error with many causes. It more often refers to Microsoft COM Internet Services (CIS) on the call of client DCOM Distributed Component Object Model (RPC_S_SERVER_UNAVAILABLE); the RPC server is unavailable (Windows Event ID) 1722. That's when a RPC request expires and 800706BA error results. +

  • Wanted: White screen after 10 Windows Update - problem even when back in windows 8.1

    Hello

I've updated to windows 10 and after a few hours, the main screen of my laptop went blank but my second monitor that I use with a HDMI cable still works.

Here is a screenshot - one screen shows white and I'm typing this on screen 2 (continue below)

I've updated my drivers in Device Manager but problem persists, here's my profile for screens and link to full

From my understanding the cables of the screen white screens LCD is still, this problem started after the update of Windows 10 so I'm reluctant to think it's that. My laptop is still under warranty but do not want to send in if he didn't need that I need for work.

I found some information online saying that a restore Image will not work, but I have an and you can try it if need be.

Other information found online says that my computer basically "forgot" that I have a main display to get out information in and make the screen and that's why my second screen works perfectly and me might be able to solve this problem with the start of the saving mode and try to fix it from there again I've never done this and don't want to cause more problems doing things like that.

What could be the best way to go forward with this problem is to say. :

    * Is there a way to check the LCD cables without disassembling the computer. (Don't want to do that, and don't think it's the fault)

    * System Restore will help

    * Where / who should I contact for help in this regard

Thanks for any help provided and please tell me if you need any other info to help. I really want to to fix the problem rather than take it to a guy or HP

It's a bad screen. The upgrade of Windows 10 timing is a coincidence. You can continue to use it as a desktop computer with an external monitor forever.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi @Johnymac,

    Thank you for your response.

What is your specific model of HP Compaq laptop?

There is a link in my previous post to help you find this information.

If you have a firewall (firewall of Windows example) make sure that Windows update is on the white list. You can also try disabling the firewall and retry the Windows Update to see if that helps.  If it do not forget to reactivate it later.

Have you checked against viruses and malware?

When you try to upgrade to windows 10 I received the error message 0 x 80080005 - 0 x 90016 after watching in Microsoft support forum, I found that the problem was related to windows 7 is not not to date. I checked and found that my computer has stopped udating a couple of years. I tried to run Fixit MS that has not worked. Tried to reboot (BITS) and got ERROR 126 (module not found) I then followed the instructions at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2700567 on how to reset the Windows Update components. During the process, I have the following errors:

I guess my question is what I have to do a restore of the system under windows 7, before I can upgrade to windows 10? Or y at - it another way?

    Hello glockrow ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about windows update problems and wanted to help.

I would that be able to say that updating to Win10 was an exact science where we know exactly how he does it, and what it should - but the flooding of this and other instances of Win10 problem after that problem indicates that, at best, we are all guessing.

So, I think, from what I've read and done on my PC, is that you SHOULD be able to avoid the problem of missing updates by updating using Win10 created using this MS link media: 10 Windows Installer using the media - Windows help authoring tool

After you create the DVD or USB, NOT boot from it. Instead, insert it into your PC and, if it does not auto-start, right click on the file setup.exe and run it.

HOWEVER - and this is important - PC Win7 have a rate low success updated Win10 without problem - primariluy lack of OEM Win10 drivers.  Typical problems include display artifacts (to cause to be obliged to use the driver for the card of Microsoft Basic), not wireless and touchpad problems.  The drivers Microsoft provides have only the most basic features, with none of the extras that the HP drivers bring to the stage.

It is further complicated by the function Win10 GoBack, whereby you can return to your original operating system, being known to be unreliable. So when your upgrade machine malfunctioning, only then you discover that you cannot return the machine to work, that you had originally!

You can protect yourself against ending up with a damaged machine - seriously considering using a free third-party product that works for airport Imaging/restoration - Macrium Reflect.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

So now you can recharge before with the upgrade, knowing that whatever happens, you will be able to return to your currently works in a few minutes.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Windows 7 update problems

    Hello

I have windows 7 installed on my PC, and whenever I try to install the updates, the information updates box, freezes, and finally, the system responds with a failure to download and install.

I'm not sure what I should do...

You receive errors related to updates?

    1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programs and then click Windows Update.
    2. In the left pane, click view update history.
    3. Find an update for Windows that has failed to install, and then double-click the update to view more information.
Updates that have failed to install will display failed under status, next to the name of update.
    4. In the Windows Update dialog box, next to the details of the error, review the error code for the update has failed.

Follow the links in the Windows Update dialog box under more information or help and Support to resolve the problem, then try to reinstall updates by using Windows Update in Control Panel or by mail with the error code and maybe someone may be able to help others.
