Update Windows of W7 non-fonctionnel and greedy

In recent months, my PC W7HP + SP1 was slow and I finally found that svchost.exe (netsvcs) used nearly 50% of the CPU for a few minutes after starting. I just find it ends if I stop Windows Update from running in Services. While this may help some, I wonder why Microsoft does not offer a customer without this fault, many have reported.
More recently, WU continued to find updates even when he says: he is looking for them and while noting some very skillful corrections and explanations, I still wonder why Microsoft does not provide a client that works properly.
A person is hoping to encourage people to install Windows 10? My PC, DVD LightScribe and the scanner are old and they discouraged me, too old to react that way!

I'm looking for a simple professional response and additional programs and instructions and I wonder where Microsoft is in all this.
Notes: -.
Microsoft has WU customers that can be installed separately although the two that I tried did not help:
My WU will say he's looking for updates if the client is running or stopped:
WU can be defined not chasing start in double clicking on it in the Services: and
I don't know what are the other practical effects stop WU's they are no worse than existing customers defective or whatever.

I would be very interested to hear from you if this works:

What is the box ticked for "always use the private browsing mode"?

If Yes, then what you have found is logical: private windows share a pool of "session only" cookies separate Windows non-private, and you have all the non-private with automatic private browsing windows.

  • Safely put to update windows

first on the last three days, I tried to fix my laptop, my laptop was unbearably slow (like 20 minutes to get to the office) which was to install a game, so I refreshed the pc and everything was fine (should have restored but I thought that the discount has the new restoration) so I tried to install all updates windows (all 112 of them) and after hours to install something went wrong and he tried an auto repair that did not work and said it was something wrong with the srt file trail.txt. I have fixed only after trying a lot of different things on the three days but now im afraid to update windows because it's the second time a broken windows update my computer laptop (first time he had to be wiped) so is there a safe way to do all of these updates without making them just a?

    Hi Ronanb,

You can do automatic updates to install updates one by one instead. If still a problem with the installation of updates, you can consult the troubleshooting steps in the following Microsoft Help article.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates#1TC=Windows-8

To activate the automatic update try the following steps:

    1. Open Windows Update by hitting on any fly in the right edge of the screen (or, if you are using a mouse, pointing to the corner bottom right of the screen, move the mouse upward), tapping or clicking on settings, tapping or clicking change PC settingsand then by typing or clicking on update and recovery.

    2. Press or click Choose how to install the updates.

    3. Under important updates, choose the option you want.

    4. Under recommended updates, select the give me updates in the same way I receive important updates recommended , and then click apply.

For more information, you can consult the following Microsoft Help article.

It's really annoying because I have important files on this computer work and can't afford to get in shape!   I put my confidence in using windows and keep it updated.   During the installation of your updates, it made my system fails and does not restart.   I'll be very upset if this update of windows xp causes me to have to reformat and lose important files!

Any advice on a solution?   I need to get this computer work as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Ben River

I ordered the Dell XP disc and did the re-install. It works fine now. The Dell technical support had me do some updates on the web as well. I have not had problems since. What happened with the automatic updates completely wiped out my operating system. At least I don't have to buy a new computer.

If nothing else works, try reinstalling your operating system. It worked for me.

  • Restore and update Windows

When you use the windows restore and restore your PC to an earlier date... Windows Update (I put to download, but let me decide what updates to install) offer again updates have been installed after the date of your restore point.  You can see these updates in Windows Hostory.

Are these updates of window offered because they are installed is no longer even if they appear in the story and you have to click on install, or, they are still installed, even if her restoration before be offered and not deleted when restoring to an earlier date... and you select install you are simply overwrite the same update?

The view update history list may differ from the list of installed updates. When you do a system restore in Windows 7, updates that have been kidnapped by a specific restore point still appear in the history view update but do not appear in the installed updates. It will be offered by Windows Update and then appears twice as successfully installed and show different installation dates.
The list displayed when you click on the link to view update history in a file named DataStore.edb.
This file can become very large, but can be removed if one chooses to do.
My system 7 it shows currently beyond 25 MB and my XP system it shows more than 50 MB. As you have discovered, it is not always accurate as to what updates are installed.

As an experience, that I moved to trash, did a scan for updates, and a new was created. Since no new updates have been detected, downloaded, or installed, when I clicked on the link to the history of update of view he said that updates had never been installed. The list of installed updates begged differ and showed all the updates installed.
Then I did a system restore, a copy of DataStore.edb has been restored to its original location, but the view update history list said that no update was already installed. The installed updates list remained the same and no updates were offered as none had actually been removed.

    I have one more problem.
I tried to defrag my computer, and I can't do it either. I get a grey screen and if I click on anylise or defragment, it does nothing, no error message or anything else. Tried to manually defragment Traore does not work, tried to load a defrag on the web program, wouldn't let me load it.

    Hello shessy49, welcome.

I would recommend that we run a SFC (System File Checker) first scan to see what he finds. Try this:

    1. click on START
2 type "msconfig" (without the quotes) and press enter
    3. go to the "Startup" tab and uncheck all the entries displayed
    4. click on 'Apply' at the bottom right
    5 restart your computer

    ---
    After the reboot
    ---

    1. click on START
    2. Type "cmd" (without the quotes). Right-click on the result at the top of the menu START and select 'run as administrator '.
    3. type "sfc/scannow" (without the quotes) and press enter

If the question started very recently, you can try a system restore:

    1. click on START
    2. click on "all programs".
    3. click on "Accessories".
    4. click on "system tools."
    5. click on "system restore."

6 follow the prompts shown to restore your system to a date before the problem started. Although the system restore does not target the personal data, it is recommended that you back up all data such as music, photos and documents in case something is not bad.
