Upgrading switch issues

I currently have 5 switches catalyst as the backbone of my data center 3548XL. I want to my network of the segment that is planning to do so using a combination of VLANS, VTP on the switches and using my router gateway as a router-on-a-stick with virtual interfaces for each subnet. Then I decided that what we really need, is to move to a GB LAN that would ease some of the time slow transfer we, network backups, and all SQL replication that we do.

Which led me to look at new switches and I try to get a few questions about the 3560 and 3750 switches. Any help is appreciated.

I think that both the 3560 and 3750 are layer three switches, right?

If they are three layer which eliminates the need for a router to route between the VLANS?

I use a Netflow monitor for my routers. I would be able to monitor switches using Netflow?

According to the intro video on the Cisco's Web site the 3560 is the stand-alone version of the 3750. Is the main difference between the two, just stackwise technology? Is stackwise replacement of VTP?

The 3560 s always use VTP since they do not have the ability stackwise?

How the ACL is implemented on switches? They are VLAN based, port based, MAC based?

If I have a dish network (single subnet with no VLAN) could I use an ACL on an IP or a specific port and limit traffic to it?

Let's say you have 3 VLAN

VLAN 10 = 192.168.5.0/24

VLAN 11 = 192.168.6.0/24

VLAN 12 = 192.168.7.0/24

For the moment, you have a router interface fa0/1 connected in your switch. This connection is a trunk link. So you should have something like this on your router

If you don't like the idea of static, you can use EIGRP on the 3560 to share roads.

    I have upgraded to 4 GB as from Toshiba Web site says it supports 4GB. In the bios, I only see 3070 MB and Windows 7 64 - bit says (3.00 GB RAM) 4.00 GB RAM usable.

    I recommend to check the advanced startup options:
    1. Click Start, in the search bar type msconfig and press to enter.
    2. System Configuration window appears on the screen.
    3. click on the tab named "boot".
    4. click on "Advanced Options" and uncheck the box 'memory Maximum.
    5. now restart again and check the available memory.

    Bought the package upgrade XP here in Spain. Impossible to install on the PC with installed English Windows 2000. No indication on the box or elsewhere in the package that the upgrade is specific to a Spanish version of W2K.

    Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade from one language module to another, you may need to perform a clean system installation if you want the Spanish version of the operating system. You cannot go directly from English to Spanish.

    I am eager to deploy QoS on our 6509-E switches. They are running firmware 12.2 (33) SXH and have not been restarted in 7 years. Due to their function in the company, I would rather not restart them where they do not return.     Cisco documentation indicates that H-REAP is designed for WAN environments, but I'm interested in the use of REAP H and local switching in a LAN environment. Basically want to control and data + auth traffic are separated.

    Also because the controller is local that I have to use H-REAP, I can just do local switching?

    Yes, local switching is a sub-feature of REAP H so it must be HREAP to local switching.

    The only advantage that you find using the local switching without WAN is that you don't need a big connection to the WLC since it will not process the data traffic, so you can plug a port of the WLC only. Depending on how your network look like, enlighten you really the network between APs and WLC, because traffic goes directly from AP to the destination, without transiting by for WLC.

    On the other hand, you lose the advantage of having a roaming and similar advantage brought by the WLC couche3 WLC.

    You have a copy of Windows 7 that came with a few OTHER computer HP<-->
    You try to use the "copy Windows 7 HP" to upgrade to Windows 7 Dell laptop<-->

    If it is true and the copy of Windows 7, you are trying to use has been obtained with a specific HP computer - your problem is that the HP Windows 7 license is NOT transferable.  You must obtain an upgrade of Windows 7 retail or the full license to install Windows 7 on your Dell laptop.
     
    Before doing this, however, is it wise to assume that you checked that Dell supports the laptop Windows 7 operating system. provide hardware device drivers for Windows 7 can communicate with the hardware inside the laptop?

    We're going from the standard virtual switches to virtual switches distributed in the coming months.

    We will use the Cisc00 1000v. The supervisor module runs on hardware, Cisco 1010.

    My questions are.

    1. is it better to keep management on virtual if possible standard switch connections?

    2. our Virtual Center servers are virtual machines should I move them to physics?

    This is why I generally prefer vDS with LBT, NIOC & SIOC; with this configuration you could use two connections rising 10GbE and be perfectly fine.

    Just use the standard pool and put the secondary 4th uplink for all networks.

    @LVTravel my laptop came with Windows Vista installed, but last Christmas, I installed Windows 7 Home Premium. It actually came with 64-bit disk, and the activation key.

    I understood the part when you say that I have to reinstall all my programs basically. I'm not sure what you mean by data files, they are available when I insert the backup? Where can I insert the disc to backup at all? My question is, how to restore these "data files"? Also, sorry for all the questions. :)

    Data files are the files that you create with your programs such as movies of documents, spreadsheets Excel, Word, photographs, etc.  If the files have been copied on the device to backup using Windows Explorer you can just copy them to the refurbished computer.  If you used a backup of some program you type then need to use this program to put the files back on the computer.  Some backup programs will create an image of the drive hard and if you do not select the data files only you could possibly replace your 64-bit operating system installation.  I would recommend that you get your cousin to ensure that data is backed up and the restore is performed correctly.
