  • Re: Satellite C660 - One USB does not work

    Hello

As the title says, I have a c660 that has only a working USB port. The other is dead and has been dead since day 1.

I tried to uninstall the USB controllers, re-boot and allowing the automatic hardwarediscovery run and install again. This has not solved the problem unfortunately.

I am running windows 7 by the way.

Another had a similar problem or has any ideas?

    Thank you

    TFM

If only a single USB port does not work and if the other is OK then I think it is a dysfunction of the USB port and not related to any software.

So in this case, I think you should visit the ASP from Toshiba for a verification of the motherboard.
The USB ports are part of the motherboard and possibly you need new mobo.

  • Satellite A200-1tw psae6e - USB ports not working not

I use windows 7 ultimate on Satellite A200-1tw (psae6e-06u030du) and my usb ports no longer works correctly.
In fact they recognize certain usb devices, but not all (for mouse and printer example work, but my USB does not work)

Looking at the Device Manager, everything seems OK... No problem!

Does anyone have a solution for my problem.

    Thanks :)

    Hello

Try resetting the USB ports. This means that you need to remove the USB ports/hubs/controllers in Device Manager.
Then, you have to restart the laptop to get new USB ports.
In my case it has worked.

By the way; I recommend upgrading the chipset driver and disable the feature for each energy-saving usb port.
This can be done in the Device Manager-> port USB-> properties-> tab to save energy

  • 8.1 Windows 64 - bit 3 USB ports not working not

I have a model computer T430s 2352CTO, running Windows 8.1, 64-bit version. Before upgrading Windows 8.0 all drivers have been updated. The USB ports 3 worked properly, in particular an external hard drive of 1 GB running. After the 8.1 update, 3 USB ports work always, but only for about 30 seconds, then the hard drive stops. The power led remains on the hard drive, but it no longer displays in windows Explorer.

In Device Manager, I'm gone to Bus USB-> USB controllers Root Hub-> properties-> (under general it says "this device does not work correctly)-> Power Management-> unchecked the box"allow the computer to turn off this device to save energy. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to stop the problem. Any ideas?

  • HP a6554f: Front USB Ports not working for a6554f

Hi, I cleaned the dust from my computer yesterday for the first time because the computer kept crashing. I removed the motherboard, so I unplugged everything that was clinging to her and I also removed the hard drive then plugged everything once I had finished, (do not know if I just plugged in as it was, even if I took a video of it, but the wasen can't good quality so I had to guess a little). I also added thermal compound to the cpu.

Anyway, everyhting seems to work except the 2 usb ports front of the case. It was working fine until I opened the case (this is why I do not open the computers, but the dust was just too). The audio ports and microphone located in the front work correctly. And the rear USB ports are working properly.

What I've done so far is running pilot Booster and also I went to Device Manager > USB Bus controllers, then I turned off everything on the list, then allowed them again. And nothing has worked.

I don't know much about computers so I don't want to go to the hassle of opening the case cause once again I was scared lol but could I maybe hooked up a cable in the port of fake?

Also, is there a diagram to show where each cable goes to the a6554f model?

As you pointed out the audio before and MIC ports are working, then it might be just the plug for the ports before USB is not properly or is in the wrong place.  Here is a page that relates to the motherboard. In the lower right corner of the image or the page layout scheme, there are two blocks header before normally taken into USB ports.  Says F_USB1 and F_USB2.  Either we must work to the front ports.  Check to make sure that the wiring box beam (which has the wires going to the front USB ports) is connected on one of them.

  • I get message "USB device not recognized", but two USB devices are actually works very well. Poster sometimes Device Manager 'unknown device', then it will disappear and reappear.

Poster sometimes Device Manager 'unknown device', then it will disappear and reappear with the error message.  Sometimes, I see the message even when there is nothing in the USB port.

    Hi malsnano,

I see that usb devices do not work on xp. I'll help you with this problem.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. what security software is installed on the computer?

    3. have you made changes on the computer recently?

4 is the issue limited to these usb devices?

    Method 1:

Run the fixit from Microsoft Fixit article and if that helps.

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

    M odes 2:

Put the computer in a clean boot state, then check if that helps.

How to solve the problem by performing a clean boot state:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Once you have completed troubleshooting, perform the steps in step 3: to reset the computer as usual.

    Method 3.

Run a full scan of the computer with the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is virus-free.

    Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

    Method 4.

You can disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:

    1. click on start and then click Control Panel.
    2. click on system and Maintenance, click System, and then click Device Manager.
Note that if control panel is in Classic view, double-click System and then click on Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
    3. in Device Manager, double-click to expand the "USB Bus controllers", right click on the controller host, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".
Check that if at all, there is an exclamation point on the pilot, it suggests problems with the installed driver.

  • How I fixed my USB ports not working not problem. Two ports left side previously does not... HP Dv7

So I do not know what is not "where it will honestly, but put there just to try to help someone else who has struggled with this as long as I did it...» I ended up having my two USB ports on the left side (turned out to be my 3.0 ports) working again when they recognize nothing. I could use the USB 2 on right 2.0 ports, but the transfer rate was terrible.

My answer on another question where someone had a similar problem... good luck!

    'Hi. '

Not sure if this will help, but I had the same problem, the two ports on the left did not work on my Dv7. All this time I thought that the USB on the right were my 3.0 ports so I thought that would be nice, but it's been over a year that I initially had this problem and made a bunch of maintenance of the system meant that I would look through it again. In any case, I went to the Device Manager through the computer management tool. I know that you can go straight to the Device Manager, but just give you exactly how I did it. You can search just to start computer management.

So I chose Device Manager in the menu on the left side and it looked like ordinary Device Manager. Went down to Universal Serial bus controllers... at this stage, I watched the action menu on the right and select more actions, opinions and you click Show hidden devices. After that I went through my USB controllers one by one as I had done many times before and checked them, tried the update of drivers, etc... Under the USB controllers Section, I noticed something like xHCI Host controller of compliance Test... I right click it and went into its details, I tried the driver updated and installed the new driver. 2 new USB controllers immediately arises: Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller and root hub.

Switched on a test drive from the right thumb to the left and the computer instantly recognized and installed the driver for the stick.

And that was all... hope it helps even if this is later. "
