USB device descriptor found where?

  1. There a registry tweak described in Microsft Support for Disabling active usb ports- it requires the creation of a key in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\UsbFlags
  2. It sounds simple enough, but the key must be given the name of the USB descriptor.  Is this available in one place or it is necessary to dig across this line merged?  In both cases where information can be found?  The problematic section of the tutorial goes like this:
  3. Type the name of the new key in the following form:
    vvvvpppprrrr
-where vvvv is a 4-digit hexadecimal number that identifies the provider (idDevice, starting from the USB device descriptor).
pppp - is a 4-digit hexadecimal number that identifies the product (idVendor go USB device descriptor), and
-rrrr is 4-digit binary coded decimal number that contains the revision number of the unit (bcdDevice go USB device descriptor).

    Hello

I'm faced with the same question. I went to settings of your laptop and ran the recovery, but it did not help. I went to Device Manager and I noticed an error: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) A request for the USB device descriptor has failed. Tried to fix that with an alternative of Microsoft Community (http://support.microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/?wa=wsignin1.0), but the issue could not be resolved. I don't know if they are related, but I think so. Spent so much time trying to solve this problem and would be really grateful for the help. Have had the computer for less than 3 weeks...

    Hi Ewa,

    Thanks for the reply.

I suggest you to update the drivers for the chipset of your computer and check if it helps. You can use the link below. Select the appropriate component and the operating system from the list. The link given below is for Lenovo 11 2 yoga, if you have any other device then please provide us with the exact model number or select the correct model number.

    http://support.Lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/Yoga-series/Yoga-2-11-notebook-Lenovo?c=1

As you mentioned that the other two USB ports work correctly, according to me is not a problem with the driver. It seems to be a hardware problem.

    Let us know the status.

  • Ask to read a USB device descriptor

I'm wrung in a test sequence to test the functionality of a prototype Board, including GSM, Bluetooth, JTAG,... etc. However, before coming to these modules, I want to have a module that could apply for and receive general information of the Board of Directors (office revision, firmware, etc.). What are some ways to go about this? Is it achievable with LabVIEW code only?

    Thank you very much

    Trung.Bui wrote:

According to me, I need to clarify my goal more far. Take for example an Arduino UNO R3. I want to know is the type of room and the firmware. This information is stored on the card somehow, correct?

Is not necessary.  A micro controller can have as much or as little information about it as you want.  If you embed a way to ask the room type and the firmware, then Yes you can read that.  Take for example the LIFA for the Arduino.  Who has no way to query which version of firmware or type Commission part of the Committee.  It is possible, should be, and it would not be too much work to add the code for it.

So it really depends on the hardware that you want to query, and each device will be different, unless it has something like IVI that can use the same protocol for several devices and interfaces.

    Hi waly,.

Thank you for the information. I suggest that you unplug all USB connections and refresh your laptop. Then try to use your webcam. I think that the problem with the USB connection that gives you the error and not your webcam. Here is a document on how to update your PC to solve problems (Windows 8).

If you are still experiencing a problem with the webcam and then one of the documents in the previous post should help now. Any stage of document Windows 8 will be the same for Windows 8.1.

I'm also including this document how trouble Code 43 errors that will help determine which USB product causes the error to appear.

I hope that this information help, please let me know how it goes.

Good luck and have a great day!

  • I use a USB device for the first time. My computer windows Xp does not recognize. How can I fix this prob, and where can I get the info to fix it?

When I insert my USB for the first time, it is said that it has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. Am I missing driver for USB or what? I need step by step instructions on how to fix this prob. I'm an amateur. Thank you.

I need step by step instructions on how to fix this prob. I'm an amateur. Thank you.

Step 1.  Identify the make and model of the USB device.
Step 2: Identify the version of Windows XP you have, including service pack (start > run > winver > OK)

Although the following steps 1 & 2 you could get extra help, I suspect that the 'USB device' has indeed "defective" and you have to go back to where you got it and request a refund or a replacement.

  • Bluetooth Lenovo S10e has stopped working - device not found / not recognized USB device.

    Hello

For no reason that I know, installing bluetooth on my small S10e has stopped working.

I noticed a few times when stop I had a "BTstackserver" does not message.

I use the laptop to download regularly from a device compatible bluetooth.

Today, when I go to connect, it says "bluetooth device not found".

"Verify that your device bluetooth is properly connected and turned on".

Hardware manual displays the config of LED and is correct, that if I press the "Fn" keys and "F5", I get the menu to turn on and off both the wireless and Bluetooth. I can turn on and off Bluetooth and wireless both with this menu option, BUT when I activate the bluetooth, I get the message 'one of the USB devices attached to the system is faulty or is not recognized.

I deleted the Bluetooth installed and re-installed software by using the two bluetooth install files published on the list of drivers on lenovo S10e. Neither one works. I know that you need to install dir C:\DRIVERS once Setup has finished unpacking.

I tried several other obvious things but without success. I also enabled "Bluetooth coopération" in the wireless LAN settings.

All I can do now is get to the Bluetooth device under the keyboard cover and take a look at that? Anyone who has any suggestions until I get out the screwdriver? (The unit is out of warranty).

I received my replacement bluetooth module and installing it, bluetooth is working again.

I keep getting "BTW stack server" stopped responding when stopped down, but this does not seem to cause any problems.

Too bad that original bluetooth module did not survive barely a month after the end of warranty date...

I'm used to a greater reliability of Lenovo.

  • ESXi 6 - unable to connect the USB device to VM

    Hi people:

I have a problem with a specific USB 3 device to try to connect to a virtual computer.  The device is a Toshiba USB 3 5 TB hard drive, and it is recognized by ESXi I see when I do a lsusb command, but it is never offered as a choice available to connect to a virtual computer.  I tried to restart management agents, restart ESXi with the connected device so that it is immediately detected at startup.  I tried using the web client to vcenter server appliance and the native client C.  She just never appears as a choice just as if it is not there.  Other USB 3 devices, including a Startech gigabit network device and another 2 TB Toshiba USB drive appear as a choice, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with USB 3 devices as a whole.  I have connected to other computers and even an Arch Linux VM under the same ESXi which has a Startech USB 3 connected via PCI Passthrough controller and it works in all places.  I tried to connect to a USB 2 port just for the heck of it, and I got the same result (invisible to virtual machines) here is what information I have via the newspapers.  I see a few entries on the device being suspended in the vmkernel journal, but I don't know if it is normal for a device until it is assigned to a virtual computer.

Any ideas what is wrong or how to fix welcome.

Hi guys, I just had the same issue and it resolved on my test environment.

I got the device ID using "lsusb".

Bus 004 Device 002: ID 0480:d011 Toshiba America information. Systems, Inc..

where 0480:d011 is the device ID

    Then ran the following command:

    oddities s esxcfg-module = 0480:d011:i usb-storage

After a reboot I was able to cross the device for my VMs.

I'm not an expert in this field, as far as I can understand of this thread: problem mit USB Passthrough (eine andere nicht, geht HDD) - to vSphere5 / ESXi 5.0 5.1 - VMware Forum und "usb-storage" module crashes when you try to access the drive and does not pass through to the arbitrator of the usb. The person in this thread turns off the usb storage but I boot from USB and so I couldn't do it. Steal the idea of this thread: zero calorie tech deals: VMFS formatted USB sticks in VMware vSphere 5.1 I could exclude the USB from the usb-storage module device (I think).

I have not tested how this affects other features, but initial test is positive.

  • ProBook 4740 s will not feed if USB devices are connected

G ' Day, I have a ProBook s 4740 and after taking the laptop to the site, when I'm home and plugged things back, by pressing the power button would see it for a few seconds and then od light out. The LED above the power would have flashes once and then turns off. Needless to say, it would not start up.

After a lot of frustration, I found that by unplugging all (wired Ethernet and USB devices) and by pressing the power button it would start up and even when starting I could plug the devices and everything is OK.

I had to return to the site today and when I came back again, it wouldn't power up until I unplugged the USB devices. USB devices are external hard drives only, all running through a powered USB hub.

This configuration has worked without any problems for wells in the year I've had the ProBook.

    This could be the cause?

    Thank you.

    The last update :-)

After downloading the BIOS update, I decided to wait until I had a break in things until I applied it. Then around one hour before, I saw the red exclamation mark on the HP Support Assistant in the taskbar. Open it, there was an update of the available BIOS, so I decided to let him do. At this point, no indication that it was the F.60 update.

I hate doing these updates that work at the machine code level where if things go wrong, they can go horribly wrong.

Well, everything went well. Updated the BIOS and restart the computer. I went back in to the support assistant and got the information on the computer, and he says that it is now the F.60 version. If she went from F.43 to F.60

I power it off, wait a minute, then restarted with everything plugged in and it worked correctly.

    Thanks again for your help.

  • 15 - p030nr: Boot Device not found

Need help on how to fix a problem where it says "boot device not found." He worked to find one day and the next time I turned on the computer, she appeared with this error message. After reading some things, it seems that it is a right of common mistake around the 1 year mark, but I don't know which is correct. Are there methods I could do to fix this problem.

OK, if it was an old PC, my guess would be that the hard drive is a failure, but on a PC old of a few months, it is unlikely.

However, it would be interesting to follow these instructions to check the hard drive:

Presume withdraw OK, what might work is booting from CD or USB and running CHKDSK to see if this helps to repair the file system.

CHKDSK is the short name of a utility that provides MS that will do a check of the file system and attempt to repair problems.  A damaged file system may prevent your computer to start correctly and get to a Windows desktop.

Because you can not boot from your PC, then you need to download one of the following options and follow the instructions it contains to make a bootable USB stick or a CD:
    (1) miniTool Partition Wizard
    (2) EASEUS Partition Master
    (3) assistant Partition AOEMI

Once the media, boot from it and use the option to check the disk.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • IPod Classic 7 G 160 GB ' there was a problem installing this hardware: Apple iPod USB Device ".

    I have recently (June 2014) bought a brand new Ipod Classic 7 G 160 GB Model A1238.

Whenever I connect via USB to a PC running XP SP3 and Itunes V10.0.7.2 it is always treated as if it were a new connection, i.e. "new hardware found". After trying to install it, it says so "cannot install this hardware" and "there was a problem installing this hardware: Apple iPod USB Device."
I have also a 2009 16 GB Ipod Nano 4 G model 1285 and this is recognized by the PC whenever it is connected through the USB port itself.
I connected the Ipod Classic 7 G to a laptop running Vista and Itunes V10.0.7.2 where the Ipod is recognized and installed.

Even if the PC States that there is a problem installing the Ipod, it still appears in Itunes and I can download music to it and disconnect by using safe mode disconnect.

PC XP SP3 - Ipod Classic
I watched "Device Manager" under "Drives", the Ipod Classic is listed as an "Apple Ipod USB Device", but has an exclanation score against it.

Right-click on the 'Apple Ipod USB Device' properties and the "Volumes" tab it shows the drive with the exact name and the size of the data, by clicking on the properties of "Driver" tab it says 'Unknown' driver provider, driver Date and Driver Version as being "not available". By clicking on the "Driver Details" properties, it shows a driver file-

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\PartMgr.sys, File Version 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp080413-2108).

Under "Device Manager" USB controllers, there is an entry for "Apple Mobile Devices USB Driver" and a "USb Mass Storage Device"

The 'Apple Mobile Devices USB Driver' lists two drivers:
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\usbaapl.sys and
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\usbaaplrc.sys

The "USB Mass Storage Device" list a driver:
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\USBSTOR. SYS

PC XP SP3 - Ipod Nano

I repeated the steps above with the Ipod Nano, connected to the PC and the driver provider is presented as Microsoft with the driver as 07/01/01 Date and Version of the driver as 5.1.2535.0.
In the "Driver Details" properties, it shows TWO driver files:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\disk.sys AND meanings
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\PartMgr.sys.
At the same time with the Version of the file 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp080413-2108).

The 'Apple Mobile Devices USB Driver' and "USB Mass Storage Device" are the same as for the Ipod Classic.

I followed the procedure to remove Itunes and even the update to Itunes to V11.2.2 nothing works.

I am aware that the system is also that XP can now be updated.

So, why not not Windows Installer Ipod Classic and why the disk.sys driver does not appear

According to the details of the pilot?

Is the 7 G Ipod Classic not compatible with XP SP3?

Yes it is compatible with XP SP3.

Try asking in the forums of Apple iPod:

  • PIXMA MX340 Windows 10 device descriptor request failed Code 43

Hello.  I recently bought a new computer to office 810 - QE HP Envy Phoenix yesterday.

The first thing I did was to finish the free update on a clean slate ("save anything") of Windows for Windows Professional 10, 64-bit edition 8.1.

The specifications of the system are:

    32 GB RAM DDR3
3 TB hard drive 7 200 RPM SATA
    Integrated Realtek / Beats Audio
Processor Intel Core i7-4790 3.6 GHz 4 hearts

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 4 GB DDR3 video card

My Canon Pixma MX 340 multifunction printer is not able to be recognized by this new system.  I installed the software and drivers for the printer, however, Device Manager keeps telling me that this printer is a "unknown USB device: device descriptor request failed, code 43"  I also tried to download the latest drivers directly from Canon specifically list of compatibility with Windows 10, which did not help me at all because the drivers are not able to find the printer during the installation.

I had originally this printer connected to one of the USB ports 3.0 at the back of the system, but I have also tried using this printer with the USB 2.0 ports, as my old system had USB 2.0.  No change, it still gives the same exact error.  I also tried this printer connected directly to the USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports on my computer without effect before.

I checked to see if this printer is "compatible" with 10 windows, and according to the compatibility of Microsoft website, it says that the Pixma MX340 should compatible.

Advice, tips or suggestions would be very appreciated.  Thank you.

    I FOUND THE PROBLEM.

I forgot that not only I used an extension USB cable, but I was also with a long USB cable and the USB extension as well.  This long USB cable was the culprit!

I just noticed this and decided to test it.  With the long USB cable, I get the error. But when going back to a standard length cable, the printer was correctly as a Canon MX340!

If I switch back to the long cable, it will be impossible to find.

However, I can still use the USB extension cable.  This cable does not cause a conflict any!

  • Handspring Visor is a "unrecognized USB device" for Windows XP

    Hello World-

I feel as if I have a career to synchronize my PDA hot! I used to hotsync regularly on my old HP Windows 98 machine, and now that I have this new (er) eMachines Windows XP Pro system, I got nothing but heartache. Here's the situation:

My Visor Deluxe runs Palm OS 3.1H3, apparently the latest version which will work with it. The computer is running Windows XP Pro SP2. I have hotsync a few times when I got to the computer, but it has never been reliable. Now I surely CAN NOT synchronize! When I press the button on the cradle, Windows hotsync ALWAYS reports, "USB device not recognized" and of course the visor says he couldn't make contact with the office.

HotSync manager is running (I have the blue and red arrow on the taskbar icon), and if I look at the Device Manager when I try to sync, is apparently trying to get the driver, he simply painted the same list. The list does NOT include the Palm, Handspring or unknown devices.

I followed the directions "clean uninstall" I found on this forum and re-installed Palm Desktop 4.01. That worked once a week or two ago, but now when I arrive at the end of the installation, when I'm supposed to hot sync, I get the error not recognized USB.  I even tried to install Palm Desktop software version 6.2, but which ended up in a mess - I was getting errors like "Ordinal 23 could not bewildered because of the trajectory messed up', or words to that effect... I think it's ok for XP, but not "peripheral" as my trusty old visor :-)

I know I should try to use the same configuration on another computer to be sure that the visor is ok, but I don't have access to another machine; In addition, the PDA has no other wierdness. Soft resets do nothing, but I don't want to try a hard reset until I get everything synced to the top! I am at my wit's end and don't know what else to try. I tried both my cribs and a number of different USB connections both at the front and the back of the PC. The USB hardware in the computer seems to be fine with everything else - mouse, camera, mp3, flash drives. I'm beginning to suspect that I need to plug with USB 1 and these are 2 USB, but I don't know how to check either of these things, or how "throttle" in the case, I have to use the USB as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance to everyone that these figures. I'll be very grateful to have everything works again.

    Gary Benson

I was with you until the end. I hate to ask, but could you clarify this just a little:

Then, reinstall your Palm desktop from the CD and do a hotsync. If she asks
for a user name and you synchronized your device before you put "test" If you "
no sync before creating a hotsync name.

Ok. I read three "if" statements, and try to understand what is meant here. If they ask you a user name AND if I synced before, AND if I do not synchronize before creating a hotsync name, I put in 'test '. Means I can't use the name I used for this camera? Or are you suggesting that, really, should I open Palm Desktop and create the username before I hotsync for the first time (after the new installation)?

I * have * synchronized before, and I don't plan to sync until everything is set up right, which to me should mean that Palm Desktop is ready with a username to match your handheld.

Also, these indications seem in conflict which advised you to in the first paragraph, where you said:

When you install Palm desktop, skip the hotsync process and complete the installation. After installation, adjust the conduit in hotsync manager for handheld overrides desktop, then synchronize with PC. During the connection process, it will ask you a username, enter the same username which is located in the upper right of the screen on your handheld hotsync.

It * seems * that what you say I have to do is:

    (A) clean uninstall - move data to safe places, uninstall, and then remove all traces of "Palm" and "Handspring" of the registry.

    (B) restart the computer.

    (C) install Palm desktop, but not hot sync again.

    (D) open Palm Desktop, add the user name (Tools/users) and set the lines for handheld overrides Desktop.

    (E) hot sync.

Isn't it? Sorry to be so simple, but I want to make sure to proceed exactly right. Thank you very much for your reply and for your help.

  • Device not found Airport Extreme

We have an airport extreme connected generation via Ethernet to a switch that provides network access to our entire House (about 10-15 connections) via wifi access points all Ethernet hard wired (linksys + apple) and a direct wire to a PC. Airport extreme is the dhcp and is connected to a gpon fiber using PPPoE.

The problem now is that the AirPort Extreme disappears from the airport on iOS Mac utility and Windows, it is found however the network and the Internet continues to operate normally on all connected devices. I can also continue ping on the router.

I have reset the AirPort Extreme to the default settings, but the problem continued...

I tried to unplug all devices and have AirPort Extreme only connected to him have the fiber but the problem persists...

no idea how I can fix this problem?

You describe a known problem with Back to My Mac which first appeared around July 13. The problem manifests itself in a message "Device not found" meant to be displayed in triangular AirPort your AirPort base station with a yellow icon utility, while the router of the device functions others continue to work normally.

If you use an airport Time Capsule, backups will not work using that device or USB hard drive units connected to it.

Apple will only be able to solve this problem, so all you can do is wait for them to do. If you want to contact them to tell them about it, using the contact Support link.

There is a solution: on a Mac, open AirPort Utility and select file > configure other...

For each of your routers Apple AirPort Base Stations serving their respective networks: its IP address and password (if you don't know either of them, read the Note that follows the horizontal rule below). Then, on the tab of the Basic Station , delete all the entries in the Back to My Mac using the 'negative' button, then click on Update.

Which must be re-established appearance of this base station in AirPort Utility, as well as in a side bar of the Finder, if all shared disks are plugged on. It will also restore possibility of Time Machine to save on these discs, if this has also been a problem for you.

If this seems to imply that you will not be able to use Back to My Mac until Apple fixes it, you are probably right. Well to diagnose problems of the CCMM is tedious work that I have not yet finished.

Apple does not participate on this site except in a very limited way, so don't expect is not a response from them, here or elsewhere for that matter. We'll just have to wait for them to fix it.
