USB drive not recognized in windows 7 but is recognized in windows xp

I downloaded music files from my computer windows xp on a sandisk cruzer usb flash drive. I tried to download these files to my new laptop with windows 7, but the laptop has stated that it does not recognize the device. What I d0 now?

I have a 2 GB SanDisk Cruzer so I'm sure it 'll work with Windows 7. It is possible that the Sandisk has installed a software owner and Windows don't is not running. There is an updated version of the US software on SanDisk site which may help.
http://KB.SanDisk.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/3682/SNO/0

Personally, I would remove the U3 of the reader software because it is NOT necessary for training at work. I had to search the disk and launch a program to "delete" in the Launchpad folder on the drive. Once removed, it should work without interference from this program.

Here is a link to the SanDisk site as well. You should be able to easily do the XP.

  • USB drive not recognized on the A30-151 in XP

After a clean install of Windows XP Pro on a Satellite A30 151, a USB device remains in the category 'Other' (after installation of the graphics and audio drivers, modem) for which no driver seems to be available on the drivers CD. At this point, the category "USB" contains four entries, two standard "Universal Host Controllers" and two "OpenHost' controllers, with the default drivers.
I suspect that the missing device can be a USB 2.0 "PCI controller host improved USB" from another manufacturer, but Toshiba does not offer a driver for XP for it then it should be supported by the OS (?).
Any suggestions as to what can be and what drivers need?

It turns out that XP does support USB 2.0 according to the SP1, it seems a pre - SP1 version of XP Pro leads the native Windows drivers is not available. For anyone in a similar situation, it seems as if a) upgrade to SP1 or b) install the hotfix Q312370)

  • Floppy USB drive not recognized when installing WinXP on Satellite Pro L40

    History:

I bought a Satellite Pro L40, it came with windows vista. I can't stand vista windows for obvious reasons. so I formatted the HARD drive. I have a copy of windows XP.

IV ' e read on the internet that I need Intel storage driver manager...

IA´ve got the driver, he got on a floppy, and it does not, because when I start to install XP, it works (after pressing F6 & choose the driver to install). I come to the part of license agreement, press F8 accept...

I select the partition I want to use (in format completely on vista). It starts to load more stuff... so he said "PLEASE INSERT LABELD - INTEL MATRIX STORAGE MANAGER DRIVER - DISK IN DRIVE A:" "PRESS ENTER WHEN READY."

The disc that I used in the first place is always in. when I press on enter, nothing NOT to PAST (the USB floppy drive is not yet into action)

How can I make it work? It is that I can get.

I DON'T WANT BACK TO VISTA - HELP!

This could happen if the floppy USB doesn t drive supports the standards of law. Some people have reported on different websites many floppy drives are not recognized.

However, worry guy. I have a solution ;) (jeaaa: D)

Try to create a new XP CD using the software called nLite!
Then, you could include the SATA (Intel Matrix Storage Manager) driver in this new CD and then you could boot from the XP CD again.

For details and how to use the nLite please Google because there are a lot of useful Web sites.

I have a western digital external drive who worked originally on windows XP Edition family, unfortunately this computer crashed and had to reinstall everything. I can connect to other computers running the same operating system and he shoots very well if it is not the drive. It seems as if a driver is missing, but I checked with Western Digital, and they say the questions is a mistake of operating system, all updates and service packs have been installed. Ive tried all online of the easy solution like just unplug the computer and the drive and restart, remove and reinstall the drivers in the OS System. Hello grasshopper.

This problem may be caused mainly by broken printer drivers, this could have been caused when you installed the updates. I suggest that you start with a restoration of the system on the computer by choosing a restore point when it was working fine.

    a. Click Start, type system restore in the search box and then in the list click on the system restore program.

    b. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.

    d. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    e. click Finish.

You can see the following article for reference:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/system-restore

You can also try driver restore on the computer and check if it helps.

To roll back a driver in Windows send the driver to the version that was finally installed for the device. Restoring a driver is an easy way to return a driver for a working version when a driver update fails to fix a problem or maybe even a new problem.

    a. open the Device Manager. To do this, click Start, type device in the area Manager search and then click on Device Manager in the list programs.

    b. right click on the device for which the previous version of the driver is desired and then click Properties.

    c. click the tab drivers.

    d. click on Roll Back Driver.

Thanks in advance!

  • Windows 7 - "USB device not recognized" - to load the new electronic Cigarette device. Help, please?

I have Windows 7 Home Premium.  I just bought a unit of the electronic cigarette, manufacturer is "Innokin Cool Fire IV", the usb charger plugged on Acer laptop and comes to the screen "USB device not recognized".  I loaded different brand before without problem, I don't know what to do and I am NOT GOOD WITH COMPUTERS!  My settings are at "install updates automatically" and I DON'T WANT WINDOWS 10!  Can someone help me please?  Thank you for taking the time to read this.

This seems to indicate that the charger has actually been detected as a device, but Windows can not work it out.

Normally such a device should only connect to 5v and 0v pins and have no connection with the pins of data, in this way, that it will not be seen by Windows. I would be concerned by the quality of the device if it has some form of data connection. If you want to continue with this charger, that I would recommend to use a power supply of 5v USB instead of risking the USB port of the laptop, a lot less expensive if it does not. It has been reported several eCig Chargers catch fire. Something like this:

  • Error "USB device not recognized", but nothing is plugged in and my webcam is not working. It says webcam not connected
