    Hi all:

I have this problem on and outside.

This time, it's ok and next time can be bad that the USB device is unable to detect Win 7 64 bit. It's OK to Win Xp all the time.

I have referred to as the previous posts for this problem and remove the VID_0781 by REG_EDIT, also try to uninstall the device from the hardware in the computer and re - install the device. I also did the replacement of usbstor.inf in c:\windows\inf to another subfolder.

    from c:\windows\.

The result is intermittent it's Ok this time and not okay at other times. It's really wasting a lot of time to try this or that, and the result is intermittent.

Can anyone or Sandisk people leave a good and permanent solution to this problem?

    Thank you and best regards,

    tangsuan

    Hi all:

I want to update this solution for this problem of Sandisk support.

This solution may be different from one case to another, but if you have installed Samsung KIES in PC, then most likely it is the solution.

If you kill the KiesTrayAgent.exe, the Sandisk can be detected smoothly whenever you plug it into my laptop.

Thanks and respect of the best.

Driver does not, will not be at level or take the repair made by fixit

    Hi 58boomer,

This problem may be caused by corrupted files of INF. To resolve this issue, try to copy these files from a known 64-bit Windows 7 computer.

    1. Please copy the usbstor.inf and usbstor. PNF (c:\windows\inf) from another known computer 64-bit Windows 7 to the problem computer. (You can download them from another computer on your email and download them to the computer problem)

    2. restart the computer control if it is detected and works very well.

  • 1 TB external hard drive works on XP but not Windows 7

1 TB Toshiba external hard drive.

It works on my laptop that runs Windows XP bot not on the laptop that is running Windows 7, if the hard disk works. It also works on Vista.

My Seagate (320 GB) hard drive works on the Windows 7 laptop - so the USB ports are not defective.

When I plug the hard 1 TB drive that it appears not on the Manager list of devices, or the title of the disk management, still green light from the disk hard flashes and lights up like it normally does when plugged into the laptop XP.

I have read all the forums and tried the following: edited the Registery values for mass storage devices USB (deleted and lower filters);  Edited the "Usbstor" INF file as suggested check, the Toshiba site for any compatibility issues, and they have suggested that it is a problem of windows 7, given that the player works on other platforms.

Because the disc is not visible in device etc Manager I can't try the other options.

    Any input would be appreciated

I found the problem to be with the controller Toshiba uses on their external hard drives.

I removed the hard drive Toshiba of the carcass, put it in an envelope of SeaGate (thus using a SeaGate controller) and it worked fine.

To my knowledge there is no software around HD Ext Toshiba and W7 work. Take the HD out of the envelope, buy a cheap eSATA to USB connector & problem solved.

  • My laptop with Win7Pro 32 bit does not read the new USB drives.

    Hello!
When you insert a new USB device in my computer with Windows 7 Pro 32 bit, I have a problem with the installation of the driver for this device.
At the same time with the old devices, where the driver was successfully installed before, there is no problem, everything works fine.
I checked several new readers: my kindle fire tablet, USB keys and external usb HDD. There is no problem on other computers with them.
    Some information about the system:

    • Laptop HP EliteBook 8440p;
    • 3 ports usb 2.0 + 1 port usb 2.0 & eSATA port;
    • Windows 7 Pro 32-bit (Russian edition) SP1 (with the latest updates).

What I was trying to do:

    1. Remove the device driver, unplug the device in the connector, and then install the rear unit.
    2. Even with a simple reboot system;
    3. Manually and automatically update the device driver - the result, get a message: "system windows found a driver for this device, but when you try to install these drivers, it was a mistake. USB mass storage device. File not found"(translation from Russian);
    4. I checked the presence of files: etc in the folder windows\inf and USBSTOR usbstor.inf, usbstor.pnf. SYS windows\system32\drivers.
    5. All on-site. Also I tried to replace these files on the previous (before the update) and I also tried to replace these files from another computer - without result;
    6. I tried to follow a tip on a site and deleted INFCACHE.1, but it did not work.

    Could you help me?
    Thank you!

For me I think it's a short-circuit USB port and driver combination uninstall/replace thanks Tauheedul Ali, worked for me.

  • missing windows usb apps

Hi, somehow in the latest updates, all the following elements is missing from my system.

    windows\inf\usb.inf

    windows\inf\ntprint.inf

    windows\inf\\usbprint.inf

    windows\inf\usbstor.inf

In my opinion, that's why my printer, well reinstalled, says my driver is missing.

    What to make or repair?

As Shalini says you can try to update the drivers. If this fails, you can try running SFC scan. Check the link for more information:

  • Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 - driver not found

I have the latest version of the driver (Version 1.4) downloaded from the Microsoft Web site. The driver installs fine, but the headset always has a yellow icon in the Device Manager. Just to confirm that the helmet actually works, I tested it in a virtual machine running Windows 7 Ultimate and it picked up right away without me having to install the driver manually. I don't know why it does not work on my desktop.

Just a little history, I have not used this headset for a few months (maybe years). I used a regular 3.5 mm jack headset until it just broke today. This headset is a USB headset. Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

I thought about it. It turns out that there are a few files that are necessary to enable the USB composite devices working properly (USB with audio and/or video devices). These files should be found in C:\Windows\inf. The list of files are:

    - usb.inf
    - usb.pnf
    -usbport.inf
    -usbport.pnf
    -usbprint.inf
    -usbprint.pnf
    -usbstor.inf
    -usbstor.pnf
    -usbvideo.inf
    -usbvideo.pnf

Missed me the first two which are in bold. I don't know how or why I was their lack, but I'm just happy that it's a simple solution. To retrieve these files, I got everything just them to a fresh install of Windows 7 on a virtual machine. You can probably catch them from another computer, you have in your House too.

  • WPD file system Volume driver does not (code 10)

My card reader has been giving this error in the Manager of devices for a few weeks, I reinstalled Window 7 Pro x 64. He has never had this error previously with Windows 7 Pro x 64 and the card reader didn't come with all the drivers of its own. There is an exclamation mark next to 4 devices in Device Manager marked as "WPD file system Volume driver" in the category of portable devices. There is also an entry under drive for these 4 devices called readers:

IN - WIN CF Card USB Device, IN - WIN MS Card USB Device, SD Card USB Device IN - WIN SM Card USB Device IN - WIN

I tried a drive letter to each of the 4 devices allocation but the drive letter will stick only if there is a device inserted into the appropriate slot and the drive letter is removed when I remove the memory card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me crazy.

p.s. I just tried the Microsoft Fix It utility, but even if she found the error and reinstalled the driver 4 times (once for each error), it has not solved the problem. Perhaps there is a updated driver somewhere?

    Hi Bendigo,

As you have tried all the steps, you can try the steps and check mentioned below.

This problem may be caused by corrupted files of INF. To resolve this issue, try to copy these files from a known 64-bit Windows 7 computer.

    a. try to copy usbstor.inf and usbstor. PNF (c:\windows\inf) from another known computer 64-bit Windows 7 to the problem computer. (You can also download them from another computer on your email and download them on computer problem)

    b. restart the computer check, if it is detected and works very well.

    See the Microsoft article below:

  • Windows 7 is no longer reads the USB storage devices

I have a problem similar to some other posts, but different enough so that I write it here.

When I insert a USB storage device (like a Microcenter * Go Flash) Windows 7 Ultimate just shows a yellow exclamation mark next to the device in Device Manager. OtherDevices, USB Flash drive. Software update driver fails, no update.  Uninstalling and reinstalling has no effect.

There is no ping, no popup. Nothing. All this used to work very well, and now, when I need to copy files to work urgrnetly, he's dead.

Just rub a little salt, I CAN access the device through Linux in VMWare Workstation. But when vmware is not current execution, or when I disconnect and try to attach to host, nothing happens.

I tried each storage device USB I can find and no luck on any of them.

    Thank you

    TMB

After digging through the forums, I tried to copy the usbstor.inf and .pnf to the Windows\inf directory and reinstalled the driver through the Device Manager, and it loaded right up.

I don't know, but I suspect that the impact of this change, there are other devices that can complain. For now, the process of transfer between W7 and VMWARE/linux seems flawless.

  • I messed up. How to fix?

I tried to turn it off for everyone but administrators usb drives.  Instead, I accidentally did so that I can't change the security for usbstor.inf as administrator.  How can I fix it?

I doesn't have administrator privileges.  They remained in total control but I changed users to refuse to read.  Then, he denied access to security settings.  Is there a way to reset this?  My goal that only allows users with administrator privileges can use a USB key on this computer.

    Hello
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

You can access the properties of the files, select the Security tab, click Advanced. In the dialog box, on the permissions tab, click on change. Remove all entries of Deny and add entry allow for administrators only. Now click apply and then Ok and then Ok. Now that the file is accessible by administrators only and other users/user groups cannot access.

Response if the issue is not resolved.
