VAIO Duo 13 Wifi problem - No Wireless-N, the low bitrate

Whenever I connect to an access point that allows all types of 802.11abgn, the speeds are always chosen from the 802. 11a / g series (6/9/12/18/24/36/48/54), not 802.11n series (7.2/14.4/21.7/28.9/43.3/57.8/65/72.2 or 15/30/45/60/90/120/135/150) as expected.

With other devices, I get five bars and 150 MB/s per stream at a distance of 10 meters. With the Duo of 13 at a distance of 1 metre is 24.0 to 2.4 GHz and 54.0 Mbps in 5 GHz. I don't know why the 2.4 GHz is only 24.0 Mbps.

Whenever I connect to an access point that allows only 802.11n, I get the error message "unable to connect to this network. The newspaper of the following appears:

Root cause:
The wireless settings of the adapter on this computer do not match the settings of "* SSID."
The selected data rate is not correct.

Detailed root cause:
802.11 connection failed due to status 18 code: Association denied due to the station asking does not support for all data in the BSSBasicRateSet parameter rates

I tried to update the drivers to the latest on the Sony site.  No luck.

I have a Sony Vaio Duo 11 SVD11216PGB.  The wifi does not work for more than 10 minutes.  After that, I hae to reboot the computer.  I applied all the updates of windows and all updates of the Sony update with no improvement.

If I can't solve this problem at the time wherever I am back to work, I plan to return it.

    any ideas?

    Hello Sean,.

    Thanks for the post.

Download and install the wireless driver once:

    http://www.Sony-Asia.com/support/product/svd11216pg

If the problem persists, try the following steps:

    http://www.KB.Sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C1023252

Alternatively, you can try the following steps for wireless connection problem:

    1. Turn on the wireless network adapter using the SmartWi connection utility.
    2. Disconnect the power from the router and modem, if they are separate devices, wait a minute and then reconnect power. Wait for the lights on devices to indicate connection was established and then test the connection.
    3. Configure the autoconfiguration WLAN service to start automatically.
    4. If possible, try another computer on the wireless network.
    5. If another computer is successful, this will ensure that the problem is not with the ISP, modem or router.
    6. Disable the setting for the wireless network adapter power management.
    7. Repair the wireless connection.
    8. Disable the Internet Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).
    9. Computer to start in safe mode and test wireless connection in Internet Explorer.
    10. If the connection works in safe mode, problem is probably caused by software anti-virus or anti-spy.
    11. Check the IP WAN address of the router according to the manufacturer's instructions.
    12. If the router does not have a WAN IP address, problem is probably caused by a problem with the ISP.
    13. Reset the router or modem according to the manufacturer's instructions.
    14. Check if wireless interference are the origin of the problem.
    15. Setting parameters try on WLAN router, such as the frequency of wireless channel or the MAC address cloning.
    16. Change of wireless encryption protocol can solve some problems.

In case, if the problem persists, restore of the system at any earlier date.

  • problems with wireless after the motherboard, cpu and ram upgrade adapters

As the title says, I have recently updated my card mother, cpu and ram (increased from Asrock extreme6 z77/i7 3770 k/Kingston 8 gb hyperx for EVGA ftw/i5 z97 4670 k/g. Skill ripjaw x 16 gb). I always use the same installation of Windows 7 64 via the same SSD. After I was installing new equipment, I used the disc that comes with the motherboard and installed all the drivers that were available (twice, just to be safe). All the features of the OS I had before seem to be there except to exit Device Manager to correctly install the drivers for my wireless (Linksys AE1000 and TP Link N900) adapters. I downloaded the current driver for the Linksys Web site and I have the disc for the TP-Link and I tried several times to install, but keep the same message ' Windows found driver software for your device, but has encountered an error trying to install it. Device Manager recognizes the device and it is not any question of State symbol (IE yellow triangle, etc.) that is displayed in conjunction with an adapter. I tried disable/re-enabling and uninstall/re-installing times and keep having the same problem. I tried to search in several forums of people with similar problems, but none of the resolutions seem to work or are suitable for my situation. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

When you upgrade your motherboard, cpu and ram, drivers for particular devices may not be related to other drivers. That's why I suggest you to install all the drivers for the chipset from the manufacturers website and see if that helps.

I recently reset my Dell factory Inspiron 13 7347 and updated updated instantly on Windows 10 build 10240. After tweaking my security settings on my laptop, I found that my wireless connection is very unstable. On my camera, I have a Dell Wireless 1708 802.11b/g/n (2,4 GHz).

On the IMAGE 3, I try to reconnect to my connection, however she changes her IMAGE 5 and labels that not connected and no connection is available and shows the IMAGE 1.
No deactivation and activation of my adapter works.

Is there any solution to my problem? From the Device Manager, I have uninstalled and rebooted but that didn't fix it.
Also, I downloaded driver [Dell 1708 WiFi Wireless + Bluetooth Driver] but it has just updated my bluebooth, not the wifi card.

    Help, please.

    Hello

So I got my Dell inspiron 3148 recently. Everything was fine until I upgraded to win 10. I got the same questions as everyone else - unstable Wifi connection. I have tried many options/suggestions available out there, none worked for me.

But I noticed a pattern - everyone was pointing to faulty drivers.

So I decided to delete the driver wireless Dell Wireless 1708 and installed the Win delivered 10 - 6.30.223.256 Broadcom driver that seems to solve the problem for me. No connection or erratic speeds drop.

  • 13 VAIO duo wifi device disappears

I have the duo 13 red vaio edition and in addition to the very poor wifi performance, my SDIO card disappears from the Device Manager on once a week.  I need to reinstall the driver to help my computer "find".

Is the wifi device: Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless SDIO Adapter

    Driver date: 17/06/13

    Driver version: 5.93.98.4

When he disappears, I can't see all wifi networks.  The device is MISSING from Device Manager and the only way to see this is to enable the devices hidden in the view menu.

Any suggestions on how to remedy without a reinstall every time would be very useful.  Thank you!

(Patches to the strength of the wifi would be useful as well, but there is another thread, I have taken on this topic.)

Hi, the driver you have is the last version of accredited driver Sony. I just want to know a bit more about what is happening on the part of driver wifi. We received many comments on the wifi feature (which can be caused by the driver being "hidden" in the Device Manager) lost until you restart. It is an accident in Win8 across all series Vaio models. When the device becomes hidden in Device Manager and when the computer is unable to see wifi networks, it also loses the switch "wireless" in the settings of Windows 8 PC? If this isn't there, say, just plane, Bluetooth, NFC are the only switches, you just need to restart the computer. Reinstall the driver causes the computer must be restarted. If restarting the computer, the problem is mitigated until its next occurrence. This question is quite different from the wifi signal that is covered in a different thread.

  • Sony Vaio Duo 11 screen burn-in problem HELP!

So I have the above mentioned material element and overall it is very good.

BUT I have a problem which becomes more noticeable from day to day.

When you use an application for a period of time, say 10 minutes +, whether subway or office back to the main menu of tiles Win8 show up with a burn-in of the previously closed app. This "burn" doesn't go away unless I turn the computer off for about 10-15 minutes. But using the PC as usual always brings the same effect.

I am not running any unusual software or configurations bizaar. I tested this on different levels of brightness and 40 Hz and 60 Hz, but the problem still persists.

Nowhere can shed some light on whether this is a normal occurrence on the Duo 11? If this is not the case, what steps to follow recommended action?

    Thank you!

Someone has some feedback to help solve this problem?

  • VAIO DUO 13 slow Wi - Fi - is there a fix available?

    Hi all

A month ago I have a VAIO DUO 13 as a gift from my father. From the beginning, I liked the design and the performance of this great device. However, I noticed that the WiFi signal is too weak, and data rates are really slow.

The DUO 13 connects to my router with slower speeds from other devices I own, even from the iPhone 3GS or a laptop of 5 year.

We took the first DUO return to the store and asked a new, and after almost half a month, I got a new 13 DUO.

But once again, the SAME PROBLEM! Other owners are having the same problems?

SONY has announced or informed a fix?

I really think that to ask for a refund.

    Thank you

    Can someone answer please?

  • Network configuration of Roaming Wifi problem I just bought an Airport Extreme and I intend to use it as my router

I just bought a refurbished Airport Extreme and I intend to use it as my router & combine with our old time Capsule of existing one to create a roaming Wifi network.

The new Airport Extreme (renovated) is in my studio/Office - directly connected to our internet broadband wireless (WAN port)

Our small ethernet is connected to my iMac [mid 2010 running OSX 10.11.5] & a PC and extends up to 2 other domains through an ethernet switch.

This configuration works very well, our internet speed has improved slightly - better than our old T-Link router bit.  WiFi available throughout the House - better on one side.

Time Capsule (2 TB) is connected by ethernet on the far side of the House, offer backup Time Machine and strong Wifi to this area.

This time Capsule was an existing installation that went perfectly with the T-Link before I bought the Airport Extreme.

I used the Airport utility to set everything up and it seems to work.

    The problem is:

Combines the Capsule and extreme connected & active, the Internet gradually slows down and grinds to stop. -Wifi seems to follow suit, but is much more gradual.

If I disable the Time Capsule, the internet connection is back to normal, Airport Extreme Wifi signal is strong and extends to almost all areas.

I got to the departure of the two units configuration problems, so I reset both factory default and from that moment managed to do all this work - with the exception that the internet connection slows down.  Whenever I visit a different web site, it takes more time to load/link upward.

I spoke with our ISP, the link to our tower is solid. The technology suggested that I put Wifi on each unit to use a different channel (2 frequencies & several channels each available).

So far, this has not resolved the problem, I will continue to make adjustments.

I googled this - most of the answers are not to date - usually 2012, 13, 14. and not directly related to my situation.  But I will continue my search.

I'd appreciate if anyone here has any suggestions

The new Airport Extreme (renovated) is in my studio/Office - directly connected to our internet broadband wireless (WAN port)

What is the number and the model of the modem or modem/router that your ISP has provided you?

Should we assume that you use a Mac with the help of a current or recent operating system?

If you get out of the Capsule of time and leaves disabled for now, the network AirPort Extreme continue to run at full speed for a few hours and not slow down?

We ask these questions because we must first confirm that the AirPort Extreme works properly until we can begin to troubleshoot the connection to Time Capsule.

Airport Express (WiFi connection to the EPA as an extension of network)

Various devices are connected, air-conditioned and equipped with DHCP (Mac code) reservations, including the Airport Express.

I need to install another (new) Airport Express to extend the network in a room where I have very limited it WiFi reception.

Problem is that the new AE is not recognized by the Airport utility.

At first, I thought because of DHCP reservations so that I plugged the EA directly to the Airport Extreme.

Bingo: the Airport recognized the new AE utility, allowed me to update the firmware and did the configuration. Of course, as a wired connection. I was able to get the Mac address of the AE again.

After all this was done I disconnected the new Airport express, has made a necessary DHCP reservation for the new AE and tried if now, it connects to the WiFi. N °

    Only the orange light flashes.

Airport utility is showing the "old" set-up works perfectly (green dot) and the 'new' AE still cabled to the Airport Extreme, but with the message that it cannot find the device allowing me to 'forget '.

    What I am doing wrong?

I need to install another (new) Airport Express to extend the network in a room where I have very limited it WiFi reception.

Can confirm you that the AirPort Express Terminal will connect back to your main AirPort Extreme to extend the network? We ask this because Apple won't allow the network be extended twice.

Another way of saying the same thing is that you can have more than one airport, extend a wireless network, but each extension must be connected to the 'main' airport, not to another airport that is already set up to expand the network. This means that each extension would be at about the same distance from the main airport... and... ACH Extender must be closer to the main airport rather than another airport that already is the extension of the network.

    What I am doing wrong?

At this point, you configure the new extension unit to connect using a wired Ethernet connection, so the Express is programmed to expect a wired connection. When you remove the Ethernet cable, the Express can't find the link that he had been informed to use logging by using Ethernet.

The bottom line... implement you the Express way will connect to the network. If you want the airport to connect using an Ethernet cable, you set up this way.  If you want the airport to connect wirelessly, you cannot use an Ethernet cable to implement the Express.

But, first of all. We need clarification on the first question above... before... we approach overall to the top of the new Extender.

  • iPhone WiFi problem

Hey, my iPhone 5s has a Wifi problem. I'll send text messages, but will not work iMessage. I can receive emails and receive phone calls. But, when I open my apps video/social media (Youtube, Amazon, Instagram, Snapchat, video etc.), the wifi does not work. Can someone tell me how to fix it? Thank you

Here's a tip for the user on the problems of Wi - Fi. Suggest from the top and bottom. Maybe one of them will help you.

    (1) perform a forced reboot: hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Leave the device to reboot.

    (2) resetting the network settings: settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Join the network again.

    (3) reboot router/Modem: unplug power for 2 minutes and reconnect. Update the Firmware on the router (support Web site of the manufacturer for a new FW check). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (recommended for 2.4 to 20 MHz bandwidth).

    (4) change of Google DNS: settings > Wi - Fi > click the network, delete all the numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or otherwise 8.8.4.4

    (5) disable the prioritization of device on the router if this feature is available. Also turn off all apps to VPN and retest the Wi - Fi.

    (6) determine if other wireless network devices work well (other iOS devices, Mac, PC).

    (7) try the device on another network, i.e., neighbors, the public coffee house, etc.

    (8) backup and restore the device using iTunes (ask for more details if you wish).

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201252

    (9) go to the Apple Store for the evaluation of the material.

First of all, try to review the steps offered by Community Member

    @Great-Christine-Tree:

First of all, we have a step by step guide to guide you through the process of diagnosis here:
Troubleshooting your wireless network and Internet access

A second option is to try the following steps:
    Powercycle the network:
    1. turn off your laptop.
    2. unplug the power to your router.
    3. disconnect the power to your modem.
    4. wait at least 45 seconds.
5 reconnect the modem and wait for it to come back online.
6 plug in the router and wait for it to come back online.
    7. turn on your laptop and test your connection.

Turn off the power to the adapter:
    1. open Device Manager. (Win Key + R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
    2. expand the network adapters.
    3. right click on the Ethernet adapter / wireless, and then click Properties.
    4. click on the power management tab.
5 remove the check mark next to allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    6. click on OK.
    7 test cycle.

Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without the quotes and press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

It can also help to reset the winsock catalog:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes, and then press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

    Reinstall the NIC drivers:
    1. download the drivers from here , but do not run them again.
    2. go to your Start menu/screen and type Device Manager.
    3. expand network adapters.
    4. right click on the wireless adapter and choose uninstall.
5 install the drivers downloaded in step 1.
    6. restart your PC and test.

    Test an ethernet connection:
Explicit. Test if the problem persists on a wired connection to the adapter hardware troubleshooting wireless can be directed to the appropriate areas.

    Test another connection:
Many people excluded their home network as a problem if another device working on the same network. Networking is not as simple as that. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to exclude the settings for this device until the laptop has been tested on another network.

If these steps do not resolve the problem, try this document published by Microsoft for network management issues: wired and wireless network problems. You can change the operating system with the drop-down list in the upper right of the document.
