vCAC network IP profile varies

VCAC 6.0.1

I have intermittent problems with the assignment of a network profile to an action plan using custom properties:

The property name is: VirtualMachine.Network0.ProfileName

Property value is: Internal153subnet

I have networks in the verified booking and have not selected profiles.  The IP address is always right, but the network VLAN is random.  I don't want to continue to create reservations with Blueprints to control what VLANS are my systems.

Thank you

VirtualMachine.NetworknProfileName property must be used with a VirtualMachine.Networkn. Property name.  The network must also be enabled in the reserve and have the associated profile.

With the help of VirtualMachine.Networkn. The only name not will automatically use profile, unfortunately.

In other words, you must explicitly use these properties together - there is no logic built-in to use one if the other is selected.

  • VCAC 6.0.1 network IP profile for Centos Blueprint award

    Hello

I wonder if anyone has had luck get a machine of Centos to deploy from vCAC and be given an IP address on the network profile defined in vCAC? I managed to get this working well on Windows Server 2008R2 action plan, but can't seem to make it work on Centos.

I followed a few guides out there that has gotten me to the point where I can join the Centos template customization of comments if the guide is for deployment via vCenter and requires manual intervention for the customization of work (you set the IP address in the customization, and then edit the material virtual and remove/re-add the vNIC) which is the kind of thing that would not be easy to imitate behind vCAC.

    See you soon,.

I believe that the solution of the cleaner to keep me, had to start the virtual machine with no NETWORK card at all and delete configurations in sysconfig and then he can go back. I then added the NIC back in before I put him as a model.

  • Pier show shared network - Manager profile

Running the Server 5 and el cap, if I add network shares to a dock users that they show as a question mark that is not resolved when you click on it.  I think it's because of the network shares mapped AFTER THAT the docking station is responsible.  It wasn't a problem at the time of the Workgroup Manager, but things have changed to ovviously...

I created a login script to 'kill the dock' after a period of time.  I also have a logoff script that did other things, so I don't know that the correct settings are enabled to allow scripts to run.

Runs the script .sh during the session of the user refresh the dock and the network properly shortcuts card.  However, it is not automate as I want it too.  Ive has set the script to pause for 20 seconds, but it still does not for some reason any.

Here is my script that is saved as a .sh and CHMOD 777 and then transferred to the Profile Manager in the section "login scripts.

  • Missing network connection profile

For my home network, network profile under 'Manage wireless networks' is no longer in effect. And I can't connect to my home wireless network. I can connect to other wireless networks, as in an Internet café or a similar place. He always seems to have the information network somewhere, I can't find it.

    A few ideas:

    • Make sure that your wireless router is enabled and functional.
    • If your computer has a switch to turn the wireless on the case, be sure that it is turned on.
    • Make sure that the wireless network connection is enabled.
    • In "Manage wireless networks", click 'Add' and create a new profile.

  • vRO 6.0: how to get network vRA profile data?

I'm trying to write a vRO workflow will get each vRA network profile, enter the (external) static IP address ranges and display them (for now).  The problem is that I can not yet understand how to make the first move (get vRA network profiles).  Someone has an idea?  Thank you.

    -Stephen

    Hello Stephen,

    You can use the vCACEntityManager.

Your NetworkProfiles are stored in 'StaticIPv4NetworProfiles'.

Address ranges and the use of intellectual property, you will find in 'StaticIPv4Ranges' and 'StaticIPv4Addresses'.

Search for example CRUD Infrastructure tasks management Scripts using the vCACEntityManager

  • Machines Linux taking two IPs of network profiles, but enrolling in vCENTER.

    Hi all

I have 2 problems here with vcac network profiles.

When I use profiles network with reservations, I'm having windows machines configured right but the machines Linux booking 2 IPs in the network profiles, but registering with the profile of a network. I checked to see if the Linux machines have been set up to have two vNIC, but no. However, I tried to assign network profiles at reserves using the custom property 'VirtualMachine.Network0.ProfileName' and this way, I'm having the same problem as described. But this time for windows and LINUX machines.

Secondly, I have network profiles configured with mask, gateway, DNS server address, and Suffixes. When my machine is using network profiles, inherit from the shape of the network profile DNS suffix or I have to use the 'VirtualMachine.Admin.NameCompletion' property so that my machine to register in the DNS server.

    vCAC version: 5.2

    Custom spec: using

    Static: Yes

    Appreciate the HELP in advance.

    Nits

Yes, the Linux machine will inherit the config of NP in the CustomSpec. In addition, if you install the GuestAgent (instead of using the CustomSpec) which will also set the relevant parameters. To do this, the action plan requires that the custom property VirtualMachine.Admin.UseGuestAgent be set to True.

  • Access to the network-> ACS 5.4 authorization profiles

    Hello

    For ACS 5.4:

In-> authorization of network access profiles, there is an access profile allow it. If you try to change it to the top of the POPs a message that says:

"The profile you have selected is reserved and cannot be deleted or changed.

Nobody knows what this profile contains in its base of rules? If I wanted to create a similar profile what common tasks or attributes Radius would I use? The same would go for a profile to deny access. No one knows what it would look like?

I looked at common tasks and the Radius attributes for the new profile, and it seems not very intuitive.

    Thank you

    Jim

Authorization profiles are used to define the RADIUS attributes to return in an Access-Accept

The permitted access profile contains no attributes at all and is actually an empty response. You can create an equivalent profile by simply giving it a name and no other attributes.

Common tasks and the RADIUS attributes are the two ways to set the attributes to return:

-Normal: provide an abstraction of seizure/selection of the use-specific RADIUS attributes and values are entered when using

-RADIUS attributes. manually enter the however, attributes, and its value

There is only one profile predefined for DenyAccess that issues a rejection of access and can not be created manually

  • Difference between "Home network" and "Business Network" WITHOUT a domain name in Windows 7?

I'm paranoid and always try to choose security options more high.  In preparation for the implementation of a small Windows 7 network behind a NAT router wireless and wired, I'm working through "Microsoft Windows 7 in depth" by Cowart and Knittel (what, rights of copyright 2010).  I fell right on the following steps (mentioned verbatim in p. 446-447), that I don't understand.  (The steps are clear enough but the real difference between the first two choices is not.) :

«.. . Click on change settings, click Network ID...  You are prompted to select the option that best describes your computer:

    • This computer belongs to a network of business; I use it to connect to other computers at work.
    • This computer is a computer at home; It is not part of a corporate network.

«That one you choose made a significant difference...»  If you choose the option "Business Network", Windows configures your computer for a better level of security it will be for domestic use [my underlining].  The wizard then asks you choose one of the following responses:

    • My company uses a network with a domain name
    • My company uses a network without a domain name

«.. . If you build your own network as described in this chapter, select a field, then click Next.  The last question asks a name for the network working group.  Leaving the WORKING group by default in place".

It seems that you can set up a "Business Network" 'without a domain' that outward behaves as a similar "home network".  If Yes, what is this 'higher standard of security' that will result? -JCW2

There is only one difference between home network and profiles work that appears when you sign in for the 1st time.

A profile of home network allows to create or join a homegroup, on a job profile that you can not. So what it means actually using the term "business" is false and the differences in security are limited.

One of the limitations of a workgroup can access one action requires the credentials of all users to set up on the host pc, setting up a homegroup automatically creates a common user between computers that could be considered a low security setting...

  • Join the domain and keep the Local profile

Research on the Internet for the solution and find no official response from Microsoft.

Have updated the registry settings in "ProfileList" and updated the permissions on the folder of network user profile - now station immediately disconnects.

This seems to be a feature of Essentials connect Assistant, but we need this in the standard.

  • Problems of Smartphones with WIFI blackBerry without a data package (network of curve 8520 O2 - UK)

    Hi all

Sorry if it sounds a little vague but a buddy of mine has one just entered into the world of the blackberry and some problems, so I thought that I try and help out. It is not the data packet at the moment (trying to persuade, but thinks he can take the time lol) and attempts to use the wifi on the phone to access the internet at home. The phone is connected to its network and has received an IP address but still does not seem to let you browse the web.

The browser settings have changed to the hotspot browser and I think the preference of connection has been replaced by a preferred WI - fi connection. Are there settings I can change that I may have missed that could help or is it something that has been locked by O2 to make you buy the data service?

    Thanks for any help.

    Robb

If you have the hotspot active browser, should all needed.

Go in manage connections > in the first section, to WiFi, is the WiFi network name listed, and what is right, a green check mark, dash white or what?

Now click on manage connections > status of Services. What is next to the heading "WiFi network", active profile, etc.?

  • 4.2 ACS profiles with Ganymede?

    Hello

I use 4.2 ACS (device) with network access profiles. It's a very big problem that profiles only support the radius Protocol, I need to use the Protocol Ganymede with profiles. I need Ganymede for permission command. Is it possible to have such a regulation on ACS 4.2:

-If the logging of NetworkDeviceGroup1 using RADIUS uses local authentication

-If the logging of NetworkDeviceGroup2 using Ganymede use RSA securID (external Radius Authentication).

    Best regards

    Hello

GBA 4.X NAP works only with the RADIUS.

-If you want you can go to ACS 5.X, which is more flexible.

run the IT role-based authentication / authorization and you can combine roles you need to be more flexible.
