  Of course you can do it. On this Qosmio laptop TV tuner works on the same principle as usual TV. You can watch movies on Qosmioplayer or using Media Center Edition VHS. In both cases start movie VHS and let Qosmioplayer or MCE sweep all TV channels. On one of them, you will see the picture of VHS VCR.

  I am connected using the S-video cable and the sound is displayed but no sounds, the sound is still coming from the laptop.

  You can use the S-video cable with additional cinch audio cable. Then the noise should come also from the TV.

  If you want to connect to the external audio system to be able to use the headphone(S/PDIF) outlet.

  If you want to change it, download TweakMCE (available on the MS site) or modify the registry.

The video material is copied on the HARD drive, but when the DVD is created the image quality is very bad (LCD TV). I tried with a few different applications (WinDVD creator, Adobe premiere and Nero Vision Express), but always with the same result.

  I'll be very grateful if any of you have experience with the creations of DVD and try to explain to me what can do to make it better.

  Could have different reasons:

  -Kompression
  try to set the MPEG compression at a higher quality (means: larger file size-> better.)

  -Cables used:

  Try to use RGB (SCART, YUV) or cable (aka Hosiden) SVHS instead of Chinch-video (aka FBAS).
  Also try to use good quality cables (not only those in the category - 5) here.

  -Monitor the device (used TV)
  Try to see the videos on a common TUBE TV (CRT) (not LCD or Plasma, not even on the tube cathode-pc screens)
  On the LCD or PLASMA TV screen you will be self a greater amount of compression artifacts.

  Please tell me if this solves the problem.

  Hello
  I try to connect a video recorder/player for my Qosmio G20-108 and have had no luck so far.
  Tried the red-yellow-white cables that came with the laptop, can get sound via the laptop, but no image.

  Then tried the input cable tv/satellite of the RGB output on the video via Media Center but can't get the laptop to tune into the video signal - just says there is no signal detected even when the video player is on and play a tape.

  Any ideas anyone?

• Qosmio G20: could not save due to a problem of unknown calendar

  I just installed vista on my laptop QOSMIO G20-102 (PQG20), I have media library now.
  My laptop came not like MEDIA CENTER EDITION, it came under the home edition of Windows XP (laptop purchased in July 2005).
  I got 3 cables which I have no idea how to use...
  laptop was purchased in Dubai/Emirates and I live in Malta

  1 which of these cables do I need? Im just trying to figure out how to get my satellite tv or digital cable to work on my laptop.

  The best way to set up your TV's with Media Center 2005 edition.
  Cables:
  Check the back of your cable TV installation box and find the composite or SVHS output. If you have only the composite, you can use the composite cable of the posted image. If your TV decoder has the SVHS, so you should use, to the better image than composite. You must obtain a SVHS cable for this.
  Look for the audio output rca, too. Mix with the composite cable for the audio Qosmio.

  But you must have:
  1 control cable IR, for media center 2005 configuration as well as your TV decoder. It is cable connected to the remote sensor (see fact sheet on the back).

  2 sensor for your remote control and configure it with the remote control of your TV decoder. In this way, you can control the receiver cable channels, using the remote control for your Qosmio G20 media center edition.
  Recovery: you can change the channels on your TV decoder using the qosmio remote control.

  3. remote control for you media Center 2005, one that came with your Qosmio g20.

  Open the TV on Media Center 2005 configuration and follow all the steps required for installation.
  You must follow the guide, as is explained in the image you posted:

  Are you sure that your G20 was delivered with a DVB - T tuner and analogue TV tuner not only 100%?
  As far as I know the g-20 was delivered with a different hardware configuration

  But if you camera supports DVB - T tuner, so I think that digital signal is not strong enough to receive the digital channels.

  Go to my computer right click on the CD/DVD drive.
  Now go to properties; Click the Recording tab and check "Enable CD writing on this drive".

• Qosmio G20: How do you get TV to work?

  Hi, I recently bought a laptop Toshiba Qosmio G20.

  I want to watch a Divx on my TV using the laptop as the player. But, I can't get anything to display on my TV, my TV remains empty.

  I tried pressing on now the keys Fn and F5 and this doen't seem to do anything. I opened the Nvidia graphics window and expand on my secondary display and I also tried to have a vision of "clone" of the laptop computer on my TV screen by clicking on the Advanced button. Nothing seems to work.

  Could someone help me please? I think that I am using a DVI cable (this is the cable where you can hang on the back of the laptop). In addition, if no one can give me more information so can someone give me the phone number of the technical support for Britain?

  Qosmio G20 supports the S-video port or video-D. You can connect to the TV with these ports.
  To view the video on the TV, be sure to set up the other parameters that you can see that nothing is displayed.
  Don't forget to use the FN + F5 shortcut to select the display device before you start playing the video. Don t change the display device all in video game.
  If the TV is connected to the computer, set the TV type in display properties.
  Click the setting tab, and then click the Advanced button. Click the Geforce tab, click current view and select TV. Click device settings and select TV format that your TV supports.
  When the TV is connected using D-video cable and the 1123i or 750 p is selected then kept copy of DVD video cannot be played correctly.

• Qosmio G20: Question of Media Center Receiver - recovery question

  As the abvoe really, I usually leave my computer running from one day to the next day and yesterday I went on it to find that I had 80 MB hard drive (60 GB HDD) to the left. Error messages had popped up and a record of these was recorded in the folder pchealth, under userdumps, or something like that. Anyway I deleted 58gigs with a value of these userdumps, but the same error message kept popping up.

  It was a mistake with the Media Centre receiver, but I don't quite know what it is, but it was founded in the ehome folder which I think is located in the main folder of Windows.

  I have been into msconfig and stopped the ehhome.exe to start but that seems to ruin the tv/video within the media library settings.

  I recently installed the codec and divx player to play divx movies.

  I was wondering is that it would be more prudent to use the CD recovery and re - install windows and the software and create a restore point, and then install the codecs to see if the same problem arises, or if someone has had this problem and it heals.

  Finally, I actually ran the recovery cd to the above, but when the cd starts the first line on back said something like, 'running Setup for windows 98'. XP is certainly on the 98 and no recovery cd?

  Can someone please confirm this for me and all the answers to the above problems.

  I can t believe that Windows 98 is placed on the recovery CD.
  AFAIK the Qosmio G20 was delivered with the MCE window.
  There is no recovery of Win98 CDs for Qosmio units.

  In my opinion, this message occurs due to RAID or other drivers that load at the beginning.

• Qosmio G20 - no sound, no sound device install

  On my system device, I get tab of exclamation next to the Audio on high definition audio bus device.
  It does not install correctly and watch does not.

  When I go in I get error 10 code updated to the point.
  Audio codec IDT high definition, do not work.

  Alcahest do you really know if this player can play all region codes all the time? I am very interested in this topic.
