Very strange thing happening with Vista administrator/Standard username/password - please read!

I have a serious problem, I was using a standard account for awhile until I decided to activate the Admin account, I have created a password for it BUT disabled then the password and when I used the Standard account and needed permission from Admin to do something in the standard, IT would BE STILL ASK me for PASSWORD BUT I did NOT NEED TO TYPE IT I just clicked OK and it went through

The problem I have now is that I have disabled the administrator account from the command prompt (net user administrator / active: No.) to use only the standard, BUT NOW IT ALWAYS ASK me for THE ADMIN PASSWORD, BUT IT IS No. BOX to TYPE IT IN AND I can't USE a PROGRAM, I see a box with an "OK". I can't click or password I can't type in

Now when I try to activate the administrator account with the user Standard order confirmation, it wont let me not allow him, so my Admin account is lost and I can't get Permission to do anything as a Standard user, I'm not a windows vista disc, I need advice on how to enable Admin account again Thank you.

Hey, Vincenzo. If I read that post of the OP correctly the problem is not one of the password lost, but rather that he or she does not have a current administrative user on the system. It disabled the administrator built-in, but I forgot to make one administrative account, leaving only a user active Standard on the system.

"DismalDaze" - try to go to Safe Mode. Although the built-in administrator is disabled, if there is no other administrative user on the system administrator can be activated in Mode without failure. Go in Safe Mode, press the F8 key as the computer starts. If you see an icon for administrator on the Welcome screen, connect to it and set up your users as recommended at the end of this post.

If you don't see the icon for the administrator mode safe account, then the built-in Administrator account is always disabled and you will need to work more. If you have an installation of Vista DVD (not a recovery DVDs), you can start the system with it. Select the default language, then select "repair your computer". Then select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes [Enter]

[Note: do not enter the brackets!]

If you do not have a Vista installation DVD (only have a recovery disk), the computer mftr. may have given you the option to repair Vista (not a system recovery!) system in the diagnostic menu. This menu of diagnosis is the same one where you can choose Safe Mode.  Or you can do a repair file Vista bootable DVD in this link:

Now remove the rescue CD/DVD, you have done, reboot Windows and log on to the built-in Administrator account, you enabled. After you have created your additional administrative account by the recommendations below, log in there and disable the administrator built-in yet for security reasons:

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

Exit the command prompt.

General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult.  It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but there may be more that you want to do. Better not to put you in a bad situation at first.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

    If do you a RDP from your PC to the client session, port TCP/3389 is used on the client side and not on your side. So your ACL should be the following:

    VPN_Filter list extended access permitted tcp 172.31.2.0 255.255.255.0 eq 3389 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0

    Remember: in a VPN-filter is the syntax = remote destination, local = source. Port 3389 is on the remote end.

    OK, this can be confusing because it is to me. Here is what happened.

    My two hosts ESXI 1 (. 75) and esxi host 2. (81) where work very well (connecting to databases) (total 9)

    what I did try to install another physical server (the network) not vmware naked 2008 Server and connect to the same table (for the installer backup) then all of a sudden when I formatted one of my (UNUSED) of records in the table the esxi server 1 INTERRUPTION of the connection to this specfic table. ESXI host 2 has no trouble accessing and seeingboth of data stores. I tried reseting network management and even restart ESXI host 1. I am able to access VIA putty to get out of trouble. If I try to put scsi under static IP address I get an error below (please help it is a production server)

I think I've changed my password, then returned to add a hint, but who has not to enter a password and confirm it. How windows 7 would react to this. He now tells me the I just changed password is incorrect.

    The new password is now empty.

    It would be a good time to plan in advance and create, test and the paper has a Director of spare, even you have a spare House key. Surely you don't want to take the risk of setting locked out by relying on a single administrator account.

    The launch is double to triple the time of CS5. About 60 bounces up and down, amazing. Never seen a software take so long to launch. What is happening with this? My imac 27 "has no problems with other applications.

    You open the application and there is a presentation text of text called recent items, and yet it is not clickable. I clicked and nothing happens. Then I'll file, recent items, but it is grayed out recent items.

    I choose my work space, but after that I have quit/restart, my workspace is not launched, because of the default value.

    Finally, in preferences, I choose the white light of appearance, but again, after that I quit/restart if lance in its color dark by default.

    It is certainly not true.  CC 2015.1.2 takes about four seconds to launch on my desk and less on my laptop that has two SSDS in raid0 configuration

    How many fonts you have? When Photoshop is launched, you will see the splash screen?  If so (and you definitely should) look at the progress window (framed in red in my screenshot and try and see what Photoshop does when it is at a standstill)

    Do you have any third party plugins or extensions?  Launch Photoshop while holding down the SHIFT key. This forces the latter supported without these plug-ins, so if it loads a lot faster, you know where to look.

    Have what arrangement of drive work you done in the preferences?  For example, if you have assigned a drive that is fault or past mode standby, Photoshop would take time wake up this drive, or decide it's OK to go ahead and use it.

    Out of curiosity, if you open Photoshop, then close and immediately open once again, it loads faster?

    That said CS5 etc, but apply to CC

    Tried to migrate the settings of Photoshop CS5 and could well have messed up.  Try to reset the preferences (preferences > general tab)

    So still stuck, uninstall Photoshop and run the cleanup tool, and then reinstall it

  • Strange things happening to the sepia images in Lr 4.3

    I am at my wits end and hope someone can help out me! I spent hours and hours with tech support Adobe to have a hard time to understand thick accents and not enough knowledge to understand the question. And my case was dropped because of schedules; I was busy with Thanksgiving that seemed to make no difference for the one who is not celebrating! But I digress...

    I don't really remember what happens in Lr 3.5, but it's in Lr 4.1 - 3 and the only effects Sepia toned images that I modify most of the time. Just finished about 200 images of an event where I'll put them on a DVD to music for the purchase. They all was going well when I'm done with them. I exported to JPEG, the side long 1024, quality 74. The rest of the short iMovie, long history made looks terrible, co-opted to iDVD. First time visualizing everything was good, but after several viewings after reorganization/add/remove images of the project, they look crap. For some very strange reason, many takes a pink/reddish color and often introduce artifacts that were simply not there in Lr I watched my images edited on 2 different Mac and the question remains, so not my computer.

    I have an iMac 27 ", OS 10.6.8 (completed to date), 3.3 GHz core duo, 12 GB RAM, 960 GB of free space on a 1 TB HARD drive. Warranty the display and the recalled hard drive have been replaced, so my 4.3 Lr is completely fresh; not from a backup. With the new recent HARD disk, I have not calibrated my computer at the moment. My images are on a WD 3TO with 1.25 TB of free space (a bit on the low side, but should not do anything). My camera is a Sony A33 and strictly I shoot in RAW to sRGB; using ProPhoto in Lr and for a while now that in the manual.

    I would be grateful if someone can explain why it is a problem. I need to finish with this DVD for the event, and if I can't understand this point, he has lost time and money! It is true that I did not this very long, so if this is something I am doing wrong, I would really like to know what that is...

    Library and slide show must be identical. Develop is a special case where you can sometimes see very subtle differences in hue to the library, but this does not sound subtle for me at all.

    The trick is to select the pictures (or its VCs) work and export a new catalog of this (file-> export of catalog).     The recovery disk allows you to reinstall Vista and all the Toshiba drivers and tools.
    Don t be afraid to install Win 7.
    If something goes wrong, you will be able to retrieve the laptop using the recovery disk. This will outline the laptop back to factory settings

    On the latter, I think that the geodetic coordinate systems enveloping the land around and just keep still once you exceed +/-180/90. I translate your longitude, for example, as

  • Moniter shuts automatically just after passing on PC. Just installed Windows 7. Didn't happen with Vista!

    Since having Windows 7 set my PC I find this imerdiately after all fires the moniter turns off.  I ran all the tests available on the moniter and they all come back as OK.  One had the same experience or any suggestions on how to solve this problem.  It becomes very annoying whenever I turn on!

  • I don't even know what to call this problem with Windows 7! Can someone please read and help?

    I have half a dozen problems with Windows 7 right now, but let's start with the most irritating.  Screens disappear and reappear.

    I'll open a window and then open another (at the same time) for a reason, and if I don't have my mouse entirely on whatever the window, it "disappears".  That is, it will become transparent with just sort of 'framework' around him.  The content is gone.  But they come back.  It makes the idea behind 'Windows' laughable.

    And try to block and the copy is a nightmare of one window to the other.  Or even on the same page.  I try to block something and move away, and the "block" disappears.

    I thought it might be my mouse, which is your ordinary Microsoft Optical Mouse 2V.0, I went to devices and printers and formatted my mouse (I've never done this before) and my Microsoft Keyboard and recorded.  Nothing wrong with the keyboard.  The mouse just kept screwing as it did before, and I used your basic standard settings - nothing fancy or different.

    Now I write in this little place and nothing is to move, the mouse behaves - what IS IT?

    I am getting this problem in Windows 7 because honestly, I have no idea where else to put it.

    And I have just started with the problems.  Can you please, please, please help?

    I can't help but think that all the problems are related, so I'll put one little summary of what else is happening.

    1 out of nowhere part, I got a notice saying that I had to change the settings to allow Windows update immediately and without my permission (I think that's what he said and I know that there is a setting in devices and printers? or something like that where I allow edits without review)

    2. I can't convince my printer there is NO residential group and that I am the administrator and the only person using the computer.  This screw with my settings (wired) network too.

    3. I have a four-in-one printer (print, copy, scan and fax).  I am at home lately and will be years apparently, so I decided that I wanted to get the printer scanner and fax.  He was already printing and copying.  I turned off, unplugged and did not know that I had to uninstall all software and then reinstall it.  I don't have the time to do it again; I want a clean computer before you set up the printer.  Well, it seems to create small problems in the world.  I keep getting directed to devices and printers, but I want to read all the information before I uninstall just in case.

    4 modules!  They are the bane of my existence.  I do not understand what they are doing when I go and look at them individually. I tried to use IE10 without addons and it's just a big headache.

    5 constantly getting a yellow banner at the bottom of my screen asking me if I want to run * some * and I wanted to know the risks involved.

    6. constantly asked about Active X.  What is it and what does want of me?

    7. all of a sudden an hour ago, my computer has decided to go to "sleep" mode and wants me to change user for myself and when I do, it says it is locked, but I hit the beautiful image and it opens on the regular Windows screen.  WHY?  I don't use a screen saver and I got 20 minutes sleep mode which is just the entire dark screen until I touch the mouse.  No more!

    Guys do you see why I'm going crazy?  Help, please!  I spend all my days this last week and one before that trying to move things.  All this because I wanted my printer to scan.

    Click Start or press the Windows key and type mouse but do not hit Enter. Search change how your mouse above control panel section.

    When this new pane opens, uncheck the Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse. Click OK at the bottom to save your changes.

  • Strange things happening: opening on their own programs, mouse clicks things I click...

    I had some strange problems on my Windows Vista laptop. He just started acting today. This time, I tried all sorts of scans, cleanings, controls problem, but nothing helped.

    It is quite difficult to describe, but basically the computer seems to act as if the mouse is which is clicked when I even touch it not. Thus, for example, then I click on the start menu or right click to bring up a menu drop down, it flashes briefly upward but then disappears. Or I run an application, and a box pops up saying: 'Are you sure you want to close this program' when I have not pressed on what. In Excel, I try to type something in a cell, but before I finished typing the text disappears (exactly the same happens when I type an address in the web browser). Sometimes a window will close only on its own.

    This is not the case all the time and even when it happens that I can still do a lot of normal stuff on the computer. But once it flows in the it does not seem to worsen progressively. Then, when it becomes too much and I have to restart the computer once it has restarted, it starts to get really loud constant beep, and I have to press F8 a few times to stop the ringing and bring up this menu of options (safe mode, etc.).

    I'm not particularly computer literature and have exhausted all avenues, I know that to solve the problems. There is no reference to this problem in other messages of the forum here. Any help would be much appreciated.

    My laptop has a touchpad, but I use a wired mouse. (And Yes, I tried a different mouse, the problem persists)

  • When I try to load a photo CD, nothing happens at all. The same thing happens with the help of CD audio.

    I put my CD in the drive and the only thing that happens is some sound then nothing. The CDs are not load as they did.

    Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
    ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
    contacts data with a pencil eraser.

  • Strange thing happened when I tried an update of security of El Capitan

    Hello. Basically, I got a pop message yesterday saying ICloud could not connect with my Gmail account and then as I proceeded to update my disconnected iMac but would not open a session as a progress bar would not end. I have tried rebooting without success, then after another reboot I tried the command R - disk utility - first aid and everything was fine. Then a reinstall via the R command yet and the progress bar ran twice but could not complete the second run so I let him all night. I came back the next morning found he had not completed but got the same popup message iCloud I had before. Don't know what I exactly bar clicked on a few options, but the Desktop reappears then things work ok now. The only thing is that the update is not completed and I hesitate to do so scared that the same thing is happening again. Can someone please enlighten me as I have now two updates pending? Thank you

  • Strange things happens after installing 11.10.4 El Capitan.

    Here is what happened on my mac after installing 11.10.4 about 32 hours ago.

    1. the mac has begun to run very slowly.  Rolls of almost every click.
      1. I give it some time to come because I think the new OS kind of learns his way around and will be exploited later more quickly.
    2. My reminders up and restored to a set of callbacks so that I was updating their previous and reminders that I had previously entered simply disappeared.
      1. all preferences indicating reminders would be updated to legacy via iCloud were selected.  However,...
      2. a day after the installation of 11.10.4 on my mac that reminders on my iPhone had not last updated with new reminders on my mac.  Maybe it's because new reminders were written before that I installed 11.10.4?
      3. I entered a new reminder on my iPhone at around 18:00 5/11
      4. At about 20:00, 5/11 I started working with reminders on my mac.  While I was doing if the older iPhone reminders has replaced the reminders on my mac, actually go back to a previous version.
      5. Maybe it's another example of 11.10.4 ' entering the stream?
    3. My email signatures came back to a previous series of signature after using a new signature for two days.  As reminders, the new signature disappeared.  Also, signature preferences came back to the default of not having a signature that is automatically included in every email.
      1. My new signature had been kept in my sent mails, so I did a simple copy/paste, choose the signature to use in the value of the email, and I'm back to where I was.

    Someone else, El Capitan upgrade problems?
