View Composer on vCenter 4.1

I recently updated my server vCenter 4.1 and I try to install this server view composer.  Not quite sure of the database DSN.  I install a 32-bit DSN on the server and when I go through the installation I get an error.  I do not see the DSN I install and when I try to create one with the istall the error I get is... Setup cannot run the ODBC Administrator: odbcad32.exe.  I'm guessing that the error is because it points to the bitODBC 64 and not 32 bits.  It is a 64-bit server.  Can't seem to get the working capital facility.  Any thoughts?  Thank you.

Perry

View composer Server 2.5 is a 64-bit application and requires a 64-bit DSN.

  • Problems with View Composer / vCenter 4

    Hello

I upgraded my server vCenter v4 yesterday (build 162856) and ran into problems of performance and pages of material due to a collision with the port 8443 - that was used by the View Composer.

Then... I moved my View Composer 18443 port number, that makes all the cunning vcenter work, but now does not work my composer. I changed the port in the overview Manager it connects to and I can get as far as the button complete, when I create a new pool configured automatically. vCenter then creates the folder for him and he removes (or almost) immediately. View Manager then up a ' composer of internal error. Contact your system administrator.

I am currently deployment of VMWare view for the first time in a test environment and have hit a problem I have not been able to get around despite several searches on google and trial and error.

Hoping that someone here could suggest something.

View the VMWare versions are all 6.0.1.

    vCenter is on a device.

VMWare view connection manager is on a 2012 R2 VM server.

VMWare view dial is on a separate server 2012 R2 VM.

    I have a 2012 SQL on a separate server 2012 R2 VM Server installation.

SQL databases have been set up for the composer to be able to reach it, it uses ODBC 64-bit via SQL Server Native Client 11.0.

I tried troubleshooting by exchanging 32-bit, but this is not connected, it seems so 64 bit is correct.

I have a windows 7 64-bit Enterprise Edition VM under my Golden image. There are VMWare tools on it and the VMWare agent on it.

The virtual ipconfig/release performed top machine, he was then stop and a snapshot taken as my source.

The problem is that when I go to deploy a pool of offices, I get the above error.

If I connect to the VM created via vCenter readers persistent and temporary show very well.

Based on the error, I tried different settings such as change the path for the reader of DVD VMs of D: to Z:, spread unique persistence and the temporary disks on multiple data-stores or data stores and even remove the drive of DVD of VMs completely. I have also looked at newspapers under composer view but find nothing to explain the behavior.

SQL Server seems to work for configuration through the error logs and virtual machines are created and added to AD as expected.

I must point out that the virtual machines are as linked clones.

Can anyone offer a clue as to the cause or something, I can check it please, did everything I can think and Googling the error does not come to the top with something useful so far.

    Thank you

IF you use an Agent 6.0.2 Please downgrade 6.0.1 agent and let me know the results

  • A point of view composer for 2 HA/DRS-Cluster or 2 data centers?

    Hey,.

I have a question of design, on a separate installed View Composer.

Is it possible to use a view of the Horizon with a vCenter and a View Composer environment, so that I can create view in desktop computers

    (a) two different ESXi Cluster in the same data center?

    (b) two ESXi-Cluster different, who are in their own dedicated data center?

It would be nice to get a useful response.

    André

    Hello Andrew

It is possible to deploy desktop computers view in two different groups in the same ms as well as two different groups under different domain controllers. However, where are deployed clones full and linked clone depends on where the image of the mother or the model is present. If the view desktop computers that are in the same pool will be deployed where the master image is present.

  • Activate the view composer errors

My setup here is to separate my database of vcenter on its own server, which is a different my vcenter Server vm. When I try to click on "Enable View Composer" I receive a message indicating "none found Server View Composer. You have entered an incorrect port or a network connection error occurred.

I have installed and configured the composer db on this server and the service is started successfully and can be restarted without any problem.

Is there a limitation for this work due to the fact that my vcenter Server break a db are disparate?

The composer software and service must be on the vCenter server.  The database can reside remotely but everything else must be on vCenter.

  • View composer Wizard can not find the AD domain

    Hello

I'm trying to configure VMware View Composer. I followed the installation guide, but I can not any further only the configuration of "Guest" customization of the Wizard (2nd to the last step!). There is a drop down menu where you select to add the linked clones to, but it is not filled with my domain name (or any other for that matter). This is the view 4.5 and ESXi 4.1. I have composer installed on my machine vCentre (standard Win 2008 64 bit VM) and the connection to the server in its own VM, also W2008 64 bit. The ad server is also a virtual machine and also W2008 64 bit. All servers are part of the domain and domain accounts work OK on each machine. The domain use the default schema (Windows 2003 Server) for AD. The guest for the virtual desktop OS is Win7 32 bit.

I have been sent the Office a few virtual machines from the same model desktop VM that I used to create the VM base for the foregoing. Then I created these as static pools and they work OK. When I have them deployed since the template customization vCenter them to join the domain automatically without problem.

I tried to cancel the wizard and leave in case it was a glitch, but no joy, same problem each time.

    Any suggestions gratefully received!

    TIA

Can you check - part of the vCenter server server configuration?

Looks like composer for your vCenter settings are misconfigured or not configured.

When you configure them you must also make sure that the account used for operations of composer has enough privileges in AD (view 4.5 installation guide, p25).

  • View Composer or View Manager need most of the CPU and network?

    Hello

I intend to start experimenting with the customers see 6-8 to find the notion of vView...

I installed View Manager to a virtual machine: (x 64) svr Win2008 connected to the same subnet that all thin clients in the view are connected.  My VCenter server where I installed View Composer works to a dedicated old (physical) (x 64) svr Win2008 connected to the view Manager / computer thinclient subnet via a 100 Mbps firewall.

More traffic view CPU and network for thin clients would be the composer or Manager?  I wonder if the 100 Mbps "bottleneck" and the former composer server hardware will be a problem.  Or it's okay with such a low customer account...?

Second, the View Composer installer asked a database connection.  He would be allowed to use the same (SQL Express?) as the Installer installed VCenter?  If Yes, where can I find information about how to create a composer under SQL Express database...?

Thanks for the comments on these issues

    Best regards

    Tor

Customers of 40-50 reviews could be possible in SQL express without a lot of questions. Go through your response, it is clear that the subnet22 is the network that will be using the network more than any other w.r.t. view desktops. (and your assumption is right).

The network configuration in the ESX to connect virtual machines to the Subnet22, this is called VMNetwork

User name by default and passoword for the SQLExpress will be the account used to connect and install the server vCenter in windows machine (it is windows authentication). You can connect as below.

    • Download and install SQL Management Studio from the microsoft Web site in the virtual center host operating system
    • Open SQL studio, then click on connect, the server name is "localhost\SQLEXP_VIM" and select windows authentication
    • This way you can manage SQL express and create the new database.
    • You can also view the DSN for vcenter server which automatically created during installation

Most of the VirtualCener servers are VMs I believe, but according to my understanding, both are very popular.

Defenitly peacekeeping vCenter in VM have a lot of benefits and felxibilities.

    Thank you

  • No server found view composer

I think that the solution to the problem can be simple, but I'm not find clue in the documentation I see.

I'll put up a view view environment 4.5. I have a vCenter server, SQL Server on the same environment as View Composer and Connection manager. There are no firewall in the environment or enabled on the operating system of these machines. The View Composer and the connection manager are on the same VM.

Problem: When I try to add the vcenter Server, it throws the following error "no composer view server Found. Either a bad port has been entered or a network connection error occurred", as shown in figure below.

My research in VMTN and Internet, has pointed out to me that the problem may be with configurations of network or administrator rights, but as mentioned before all these machines are on the same VLAN and there is no firewall. Also I use a single user from the administrator of domain for all these machines., (this is a laboratory environment, this is why we can afford to do).

    Your suggestions are very appreciated.

    Thank you.

The composer of the view must be installed on the vCenter server and not on the display connection server.

  • View composer 2.5 installation problem

We did a separate server for our oracle 11 and the other for our vCenter. (the two server are 64-bit win2008 SP2 Enterprise)

So first of all, we made the DB for the vcenter server and installed the server vcenter without problems.

Then we made a second database for the composer of the view and try to install the composer 2.5 to vcenter server. but when you get to the screen to enter the DB options, we're stuck.

    The ODBC tests succeeded.

In the vmware-sviconfig, we see that when it occurres:

This image shows the databases on the Server DB

There is someone who has had the same problem and found a solution or someone who can help me?

    TNX

Sorry for the multiple posts, so come back to my first posting on the bug in ODBC and .NET, Oracle has brought out a patch for the Windows Client.  The patch number is 9966926.  (connection can be made using the opatch utility that is included with the installation).

One thing to note is when I was doing my patch, I fails me on update oci.dll.  This happened again after that judgment of the Oracle base services.  When I ran process monitor on my host, I have determined that these services were also hung in the DLL:

    Application system COM +.

    Distributed Transaction Coordinator

VMWare tools service (this is because I'm running my Virtual Center on a virtual machine)

Once I confirmed that nothing had a hook in this DLL, the patch was able to successfully apply.  After a reboot, I ran the installer to View Composer and installed.  At this point, I didn't run any test extended beyond installation, but its progression without a doubt.

  • There was an error trying to connect to the View Composer.

Like most others, I try to get 4.5 view running

    I have Vcenter 4.1 and 4.5 seen installed on Windows 2008 R2 VMs 2.

I installed view composer 2.5 on the Vcenter server on the default port 18443.

I have disabled the firewall on both machines to make sure can communicate.

But when I try to connect to the server to connect to the composer I get only error while trying to connect to View Composer.

I am at a loss at this stage,

The only thing I can find in the case of the newspapers is lower, it shows the same time I did install it.

There is no information identifying the appropriate default server on this system. This will prevent server applications that expect to use the credentials of the system default to accept SSL connections. The directory server is an example of such a request. Applications that manage their own credentials, such as internet information server, are not affected hereby.

I think that stuff VM manages its own credentials.

    Any ideas?

Have you checked that the composer function is running on your vCenter Server? Nothing in Event Viewer related to the composer?
