Virus that resembles an antivirus program

My computer has a virus that looks like an antivirus program that will not let me remove anything, open menus, files, etc.   Any way to get rid of it, I can do it myself without launching the recovery CD?

I recently had to have my rebuilt computer caused by a virus. Now I have Mozilla Firefox with ABP and see that Firefox has a program's built-in phishing and viruses. Do I need a program additional anti-malware? If so, the one that works best with Firefox? Seems put more you on these things the you have more trouble.

The anti-phishing protection and malware that Firefox uses checks against a list of websites that have been reported to contain a form of malware and then alerts you. Firefox itself does not scan files to see if they contain viruses/malware. You still need a form any anti-virus and anti-malware protection. You must also use a firewall.

The antivirus program that program anitvirus I try to install claims is still on my computer came with the computer when it was bought a little more than a year before.  This antivirus program was followed by another antivirus program.  The antivirus program on the computer at the time wherever he bought has been removed until the following antivirus program has been added.  The second antivirus on the computer program has been removed before my attempt to install the third-party antivirus program which States that the original anti-virus software came with the computer is always on it.  The antivirus program that is allegedly still on the computer is not on the list of installed program computer.  None of the two antivirus programs that were on the computer is on the list of installed programs computer.  How can I remove a program that is no longer on the computer?  Why the antivirus program that I try to install again could think that a program is still present on the computer where this program has been deleted if long ago?

I just got my phone a week ago... and I have anythin to this topic so I guess formatting will be straightfroward.

    Hello

It must be a very intractable virus.
I don t use Norton Antivirus because in my opinion it s not very good program. I have read in many computer magazines that some viruses was not recognized or are not able to remove by Norton Antivirus.
    I use Karspersky antivirus program.

In any case, I think that if you have important data on your laptop, you can use the Toshiba Recovery for the new installation cd.
After installation, you must immediately update your antivirus program.

PS. You can also use an adware programs. These applications are freeware and search of Trojans and other malware.

  • IPhone 3GS Best Antivirus Program/Protection

I heard a lot of rumors on how IOS does not really need an antivirus because the software application is quite sure just within himself. Even if I have OCD and I am always worried about something. That being said what is the best Antivirus Program (free) that I need to download for the safety of my Iphone 3GS. Even if I could not ever having a virus problem or whatever the cause. It is just a type of "peace of mind" of the thing im dealing with.

It must also be free software because I have no money to invest in the purchase of a request right now.

Please someone help me to find what I'm looking for.

May God bless those who can help me understand my situation.

    Thanks again.

There is NO antivirus program for iOS. Because iOS does not privilege any sufficient demand to see what is happening in the operating system or install apps. Your 3GS is safe. There is no need and that you can not use an antivirus.

One of your antivirus programs? You should not have two or more on the computer much
less running. They load the pieces themselves at startup and interfere with each other

  • Y at - it an anti virus that goes with my default firewall for windows xp

Y at - it an anti virus that goes with my default firewall for windows xp? I had microsoft essentials, but it comes with a separate firewall

Microsoft Security Essentials does not include a firewall, it fits with the (default) Windows Firewall. During installation, Microsoft Security Essentials scans the PC to determine if a firewall is enabled on the PC. If no firewall protection is present, you can turn on the Windows Firewall. See features and benefits-Windows Firewall integration. http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/products/security-essentials/product-information

  • What I have to buy extra (Norton or McAfee) anti-virus or is the antivirus in Windows Security Center enough?

What I have to buy extra (Norton or McAfee) anti-virus or is the antivirus in Windows Security Center strong enough? I have McAfee on my computer, but my subscription has expired. I wonder if it is necessary to update? or if the antivirus and security installed in the Windows Security Center is all I really need. and everything is a little more kill?

    Hi RevStevieB,

Windows Security Center helps improve your computer's security by checking the status of several security essentials on your computer, including firewall settings, Windows automatic updating, anti-malware software settings.

If Windows detects a problem with any of these security essentials (for example, if your antivirus program has expired), Center security displays a notification and places a Security Center icon in the notification area.

I recommend you to download & install the antivirus or security software up-to-date so that it works correctly.

You can also download & run Microsoft Security Essentials on your computer.

    Hope the helps of information.
Please post back and we do know.

  • It is better to have two antivirus programs to be sure?

    original title: MS Security Essentials?

I am now under Webroot Internet Security complete and I was wondering if I have or should run/download MS Security Essentials? I read somewhere that it is better to have two antivirus programs to be sure. What should I do?

    Hi Richard,

Contrary to what OU a course, you must have a real-time protection anitmalware/antivirus program installed on your computer. Major reason being disputes between two to treat an infection. However, you can have other scanners on request, indeed since no antimalware/antivirus software is 100% sure I'd say at least one to increase daily or weekly scans with your resident security program.

Microsoft Security Essentials offers protection in real time for your home or small business PC that protects against software viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

  • Microsoft Security Essentials is compatible with Antivirus programs?

I want to know if Microsoft Security Essentials can be used in conjunction with other programs such as Norton or McAfee Antivirus.  Usually, a single Antivirus program denies it.  I'm just curious, because I have Norton and I installed Microsoft Security Essentials on a VAIO from XP because Microsoft was pushing it and nobody mentions do not use if you already have antivirus software installed.  It seems that everything is working OK, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.  Please advise because I wouldn't do something that would affect my computer.

Oh yay fellow in love norton and mcafee. I can add you to the fan club? We have T-shirts, expressing our... love... for these programs. hehe

I'm kidding. On the fan club. I also share the feeling that be freeze before I used these products.

Conflicts occur between 2 programs trying to do the same thing, so if you had 2 AV programs both with antivirus real-time protection, they would have conflict while dealing with the virus.

So as long as you do not have 2 programs trying to protect you against the same thing at the same time, you'll probably be fine.

On my computer I have MSE for protection in real time, Spybot to monitor my registry (among others), and Malwarebytes just like an anti-malware scanner, not real-time protection and I cannot remember a time when I never had any conflict.
