Vista does not recognize my edge diskGo flash drive. __

I just got a new computer with Vista and when I placed my edge deskGo into the USB, my computer does not recognize my backup file on this subject.  He considers that this is on A floppy drive and I don't even have a floppy drive.  I can't see all of the files on my disk.  I think that the diskGo is configured to be compatible with XP but not Vista.  This would be the case?  If so, how can I fix it?  Thank you

First thing to do is to check its Vista compatibility at the link above, and if not to see what patches/solutions are available from its manufacturer...

If they do not have a solution, you will need to buy a new one.

Sorry to tell you that everything you have * is * acknowledged. Although
you think you have a 640 GB drive, you actually have a 596 GB disk.

All drive manufacturers qualify hard 1 GB 1 000 000 000 bytes, while
the rest of the computer, including the windows world, defines it as 2 to
    the 30th power bytes (1 073 741 824). So is a disk of 640 billion bytes
    actually about 596 GB.

To some people pointed out that the official international standard defines
the 'G' of GB as 1 billion, not 1 073 741 824. Correct if they
are, using the binary value of GB is so well established in the
World of computing that I consider using the decimal value of 1 billion of
    be misleading marketing.

  • Vista does not recognize the mass storage controller driver

How can I get microsoft to recognize their own software and files show as my controller driver of mass in diagnostic checks and updates storage?

    * original title - BUG not installed mass storage controller driver *.

I don't really understand your question. The mass storage controller driver is available from the website of your computer mftr. (if you have a machine of brand OEM like HP, Dell, etc.) and is included in the card mother/chipset drivers OR you would get the driver from site of the card mother mftr. If you have a generic construction machine. You don't want to update these drivers from Microsoft Windows Update in all cases. If you installed Windows 7 and that you have not installed these drivers, this is your next step.

    General information on the drivers:

Never get the drivers from Windows Update. Bring:

    1. site of the device mftr. ; OR
    2. site of the card mother mftr. If the material is on board; OR
    3. website of the OEM manufacturer for your specific machine if you have a PC OEM (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the Web site where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

    1. read all documentation that you got when you purchased the computer.
    2. If the computer is OEM, access the site Web of the OEM for your specific model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway)
    3. download, install and run a program of inventory of the free system like Belarc Advisor or System Information for Windows.

  • Canon 60 d does not recognize the 430ex II flash. Any suggestions?

Canon 60 d does not recognize the 430ex II flash. On the menu screen, it says that flash is where not compatible.

Any suggestions? Books or guides recommended?

    Thank you

    A few...

I hope that you have verified that the flash lights up completely and you get the red light showing that it is ready to fire.

On your system menu 60 d, if you find the "Flash control" option, you can ensure that you have not set the external speedlite to 'disable' - although I think in this mode, you wouldn't get the message you describe.  that is, I doubt it's, but you can double check.

A more common reason for the failure is that the flash of the camera can perfectly communicate with flash.  This is usually due to a bad connection in the 'foot' of the lightning.

The flash must be in place in the rails of the claw.  Make sure that the lock is released, fully slide the flash into the rails of the hoof, stop.  Engage the locking of the foot, so we got him firmly (it will slide to the right and then click sur-pour-snap (you must press the button to release the locking lever).)  This is not * only * snug foot... He also puts a tiny metal pin locking in a small hole in the claw so that flash can't get out.

At this point, the "foot" of the flash is actually the "ground" connection and he is in contact with the metal rails of the claw AND the five contacts on the foot must be in contact with the camera.

This means there is nothing wrong with the flash - and there could be something wrong with her.   So if you are convinced you fully secures the flash, then remove the flash and inspect the "foot" on the flash.

The metal plate on the bottom of the flash must be strong... If you use your fingers and try to move it (do not use a heavy force... we do not break - just firmly grasp and see if he's going to move at all) it should not move.  If it does not move that this means that the foot is loose and is not attached to the body of the flash (there are four very small screws which hold it firmly, but they are accessible from the inside of the flash.

Next, inspect the 5 metal pins on the bottom of the flash.  Each of these areas is spring loaded so that they will stand against the 5 points of contact in the camera shoe.  I sometimes saw a performance of something (for example, a bit of sand) getting stuck and 'jam' a PIN so that she she brings more contact with the contact on the hoof.  If you view the foot of the flash of an edge - on view, all the pins it is back to the same height.  If one of them is lower than the rest... indented it is blocked.

The 430EX II has a solid reputation as a flash work horse.  It tends to be among the most reliable flashing on failures is rare.

It is also possible that the problem is in the camera.  A simple test of this is to try an another speedlite (if you have one, or if you have a friend who has a).  If it's your speedlite, and it is under warranty, then it is probably a simple remedy of service Canon.

If the flash is not under warranty and that the problem is with the hot-shoe is is not solid, it is often an easy repair.  If a foot have been irreparably damaged, the entire foot can be replaced (everything is a module) and it is an easy and I think a little low cost repair.

Make sure that Windows is updated appropriately that there have been several USB updates.

1 check that the driver letters for them, for a player, if the drive of the default drive letter is changed, what is happening.
Mine was h: I added a device that took H: and the player stopped. So I put it back to H: and the other
device to J: and everything worked again. If necessary start - type in the area of research-> disk management find top
-Right-click on it - RUN AS ADMIN

Don't forget to remember the MP3 must be set to the PSG to sync with WMP, and meteorological service of Canada to copy and delete files
    and update the firmware.

If no joy follow these steps:

You may need a powered hub. (all the USB ports on your computer are not powered, often only 2)

    Try these:

    Make a Restore Point

Control Panel - Device Manager - click in the empty area - VIEW - show hidden devices

Here, your devices are the MP3 player.

Now look everywhere EXCEPT the USB controllers for your devices (cannot be found) and if you find
It RIGHT CLICK and UNINSTALL all.

now go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers in the category, but the category itself.

    APPLY/OK

    RESET

This refresh battery USB and hopefully it will allow the unit to install. (You may need a powered hub)

    Hello

HP 6120 t (vista) BIOS does not recognize the second IDE hard drive connected via IDE-SATA controller. The other SATA disk and the DVD player came with the machine.

I hooked my old 200 GB Hitachi drive via the controller. I also put the jumbers in the present as a slave. I also took the original WD drive and just connect the IDE hard drive. BIOS do not show any drive at all.

I would try something possible at this time I have a lot of my data on the old disk.

    Thanks appreciate any suggestion.

Try to enter the BIOS and I believe under change of Advanced menu of SATA to IDE or Enhanced.

You need to do when you install Windows XP or you will get a blue screen and it does not start.

  • Windows Vista does not recognize my external hard drive, Eagle Consus AND-CS2PSU2-BK

I have an HP Presario laptop running Windows Vista and it does not recognize my external hard drive, or my flash drives.

I have an external hard drive Eagle Consus AND-CS2PSU2-BK.  It worked fine on my desktop, which works on XP.  I plug it to my computer laptop and nothing.

When I plugged it in the first place, he says that he needed to download the drivers.  I clicked 'ok' to automatically download drivers and a few seconds later, he said that it successfully completed the driver download/install.

I look under the drives in my computer and he's not here.

I went to start, right click computer, left you click on Manage and double-clique then under storage disk management.  All I see are C drive and recovery disc (D).  No other drives displayed.

I exitted who and set up the Control Panel, double click on Device Manager.  He said in the other topic peripheral USB to ATA/ATAPI bridge.  I don't know whether or not it is my external hard drive.  It indicates the Type of device: Other Devices and under device status it says: "the drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28).  This operation requires an interactive window station.  To reinstall the drivers for this device, click on reinstall the driver. »

He asks if I want to reinstall the drivers, so I clicked that.  He couldn't find them / install them.

Still, I don't know if USB to ATA/ATAPI bridge is still linked to my external hard drive.

Help, please.  The same thing happens when I try to plug a flash/USB.

    Try this:

In the right click 'USB to ATA/ATAPI bridge' Device Manager under the other devices section, click unsintall or press the delete key. Reset with the connected hard drive it must be reinstalled, but under the USB controllers. Make sure the device works on the other computer cable can also go to bad.b

  • Windows Vista does not recognize the removable storage device

    ISSUE INITIAL 2010-03-03)
    Here's the scenario:
    1. Insert the card compact flash.
2 computer recognizes the removable storage (that is, it is assigned a drive letter and appears in disk management).
    3. use the icon remove the device safely in the taskbar to stop the machine to remove safely.
    4. remove the card compact flash.
    5. Insert the compact flash card.
    6. the computer does not recognize removable storage (that is, it is not assigned a drive letter and does not appear in disk management).

The only way I can get windows to recognize the drive is to restart my computer. How can I get windows recognize the drive without having to reboot?   This problem does not occur with USB flash drives.

Windows Vista Hame Premium, 64-bit, Service Pack 2 operating system

    UPDATE (04/03/2010):
I have more information, I hope this helps to reach a solution.

-J' repeated the steps above 1 to 3, with open Device Manager.  In step 3, in the Device Manager window, the icon for the question USB mass storage device becomes the exclamation point in yellow triangle icon.  Check its properties on the tab "General", in the "Device status" box, it says: "Windows cannot use this hardware device because it has been established for"safe removal", but it has not been removed from the computer. (Code 47)  IX this problem, disconnect the device from your computer and then reconnect it.  Click on 'Search for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. »
-J' then removed the card and rest of the error state.
-J' I re inserted the card, and rest of the error state.
-J' I then tried to update the driver by accessing the tab "driver", click on "Update driver", click on "Automatically search for an updated driver", and the result was "the best driver for your device is already installed."

I found the solution on this hp web page:
    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=bph07910&tmp_task=solveCategory&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=3876397&lang=en#N1074

Basically, it says NOT to use the function "remove the device safely.  Instead, just right-click on the drive in the Solution Explorer, then choose "Eject".  Works perfectly.

    Some excerpts...
"Memory card readers are devices that use the icon remove the device safely in the notification area in the taskbar). Do not click stop in the window, remove the device safely. Doing so can disconnect the card memory reader for Windows. In this case, restart the computer to reset the memory card reader. »
"An alternative to the restart of the computer is to use the option optimize for fast moving functionality in Windows.

  • Tecra S3: Installation of Vista does not recognize the HARD drive

I try to install Vista Ultimate on my Tecra S3, but installation does not recognize the HARD drive.

I tried to find the driver for Vista for my computer, but not found RAID.
Tried it with XP drivers, but no longer works.

Do you have an idea where I can download Vista drivers for RAID?

    THX

    Hello

Your suggestion is good. The Tecra S3 supports the RAID, and the RAID driver is required to install the OS on the HARD drive.
On the European driver Toshiba page I found a RAID for XP driver.

I put t know if this driver will run under Vista, but I recommend to test.
The RAID XP 1.3.8.0 driver version can be downloaded from this site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

Please note; You can store the RAID driver on an external USB and Vista should recognize it!

  • Vista does not recognize my drive sata hard.

    • I have a Sony Vaio and this laptop is running Vista on a drive sata hard and the hard drive failed, I am trying to load Vista on a clean hard disk SATA of Toshiba. Vista does not see the hard disk and can not find the drivers for the SATA hard drive. I called Toshiba and they said that the hard drive is plug-and-play this is why there is no drivers and asked me to call Sony to the motherboard drivers. Sony said that you need for the Vaio recovery disc. I ordered the recovery disks and still have the same result. I have checked the BIOS and can not see anywhere to set up a sata drive. What can I do to fix this?

    Hi Dl54,

    A. is the hard drive is detected in the BIOS?

    B. what happens when you restart the computer?

    C. you get errors?

    D. What is the exact error message that you receive?

You can check if the drive is detected in the BIOS, but will not all SATA configuration option in the BIOS.

I suggest you to download the SATA drivers on the Sony site on a flash drive and load it during the installation.

After that you start from the vista DVD, follow the instructions on the screen to install vista. You will see a screen where you choose the partition to install vista. You will find an option to load a driver on the same screen to the bottom of the left hand of the window.

Click load a driver > Browse to the location of the drivers and start installing the drivers.

    Please answer in return.
