VMware View 3.1 & WYSE V10L - display refresh problem

Hello world

We are just in the middle of a VMware View 3; 1 deployment using new WYSE V10L thin client. We seem to have a bit of a problem with the screen refresh rate. Let me explain better (and just to the preface, the dorsal VMware environment runs VI 3.5 on 5 nine HP blades and a NetApp SAN.) The entire network is running Gigabit as well)...

I don't know if it's just a limitation of the RDP Protocol, but a few of us working on the project need some checks. Basically, a session running on one of these WYSE Terminals it looks like the screen is choppy and the refresh rate of the screen is mediocre. Just regular browsing (scrolling up and down on a Web page) seems to be quite rough as well. Just to give you a comparison, if he were an ordinary PC, I would say that it didn't install the correct display driver. Even simply minimize windows seem to be trolling and the display seems wrong to draw images of the session. You would think that we ran in a remote office WAN, hundreds of miles away. But they were just on a local network (with no sign of any claim/network latency that we see).

I hope I explained it well enough for you guys to understand. We expected just the performance to be a bit better from a point of view to display. But maybe we ask too through a regular session of the RDP. I'm hoping that someone has faced a similar problem and then I help (or tell us that this is the best we can expect). Of course, it is difficult to really see what I want to say without seeing the problem with your own eyes. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you, guys.

  • VMWare View 5.1 and authentication RADIUS - password problem

I use Trustwave for 2-factor authentication on a Server View 5.1.1.  The Server Proxy of Trustwave requires that you enter your password to Active Directory followed by a comma, then the access provided by Trustwave code.  After that, you get the VMWare View normal login where you have to put your password in Active Directory.  Is there a way to remove the comma and the password of the first login box and simply pass the Active Directory password for the 2nd dialog box?  See the following two dialog boxes.

NOTE: All works fine, but it is confusing for the user to enter his password to Active Directory twice.

NOTE: When I check the box in the authenticators, manage, use the same username and password for Windows and RADIUS authentication, I naturally get an error because it is passing the password to Active Directory, the comma and the password of Trustwave at the 2nd fret of the connection.

    Laughing out loud

What happens with multiple RADIUS servers, is that the first guest username and password in AD. There is then a Challenge to get the access token code. In this case, you can configure view to ignore the next AD password prompt that the view can take the original RADIUS (AD password) authentication code and use it for the part of the AD authentication.

A certain RADIUS vendors operate in this way.

If the RADIUS of Trustwave server can be configured to do a Challenge of access, it would be a more standard approach to try to analyze the fields password in this way.

I can see why this would not be irritating to users.

    Select this option.

  • Display refresh problem: Pixellations

Pixelation occurs only in Firefox. I tried to plug in computer screens and other screens, LOC and the problem is that the same no matter what screen is hung. It only happens with Firefox and not other browsers or other programs on my computer, including the desktop. Because I can't post a screenshot, I will try to describe what I see. The header sidebars and Firefox display a master random gray squares that hide the text as the text menu, but not white address bars. If I move my mouse over the gray block, it refreshes and correctly display the menu icons and text. The passage of the mouse refreshes the text and icons, but not the background of the menu headers or the sidebar. They remain cut upwards with random blocks of color opaque dark squares, rectangles and the combinations of these sizes.

    Hello

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    • Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
    • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
    • You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    • Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

  • Testing VMware View 4.0 problems

I test a trial version of VMware View 4 and needs help with some problems, that I manage to get the software to work.

    The problems are:

-Use of vSphere 4.0 Client to manage the ESX, the feature 'Models and virtual computers' server is missing from the inventory menu.

-After creating a Windows XP VM on the ESX Server, I am not able to create a model of the virtual machine.

-Help the administrator view, there is no source of office, and I'm not able to create jobs, or add users or groups, even if I am connected to the server VirtualCenter and display server in the Configuration section.

I have installed and configured the following:

    -ESX 4.0

-VMware vCenter with View Composer on a Windows 2003 server,

-Find out the connection to the server on another Windows 2003 Server

-A Windows XP VM with the view on the ESX Server agent

-client vSphere 4 on my PC

The problems I encounter are similar to the following thread:

    http://communities.VMware.com/thread/255512

the difference in my case is that I installed vCenter and view server connection?

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

It seems that you connect directly to the ESX Server and not to the vCenter.

Sources of funds will be filled when you configured your pools correctly in the display manager.

  • Wyse V10L with WTS 6.3 and VMware View show

Hi, just got the WTS 6.3 Wyse today and upgraded a V10L. Then entered the IP of our server VMware View, that meets our OK thin client device and presents us with a nice box of connection of VMware. I then enter my login details and I get the error "No. SUPPORT TUNNEL '...

I can plug directly into the virtual machine in question using RDP in Wyse client, so assume its something to do with the SSL through the broker. Disabled the requirement for SSL and changed my broker on the device of Wyse http://x.x.x.x, (instead of https)-same error.

Has anyone else seen elsewhere, or have any idea what is the problem?

    Hello

Open the view administrator, select your display server, click on edit and activate (direct connection on the desktop)

This is because the customer of Wyse ThinOS with does not have components of tunneling.

You will need the option direct conect. The thin client connects to the Server View, authenticated, get its information session and after which connects via RDP directly on the desktop.

    Thank you

  • Level of encryption between Wyse ThinOS and VMware View desktop

Can someone help me determine the level of encryption between my Wyse thin clients and virtual desktops.

I use the latest Wyse ThinOS and VMware View connection Server 4.0.

I have a manual desktop pool configured with things THAT RDP disabled. I'm also using smart card authentication.

With direct disabled RDP is a configuration of SSL tunnel for the connection to the server and the RDP session to the virtual desktop by tunnel through this SSL connection?

Yes that's right, although strictly that you should say server/connection security as if you use a security server, then this is endpoint of the tunnel rather than the CS.

  • VMware View displays information of State Office

I am trying to view the status of the office in a pool of offices to Horizon of VMware View. Using the cmdlet "Get-RemoteSession" indicates only that the status 'Connected' or 'Disconnect '. State as inaccessible and already used Agent information is absent. Is there a cmdlet to view the office and that already used such status, Agent unreachable etc. ?

I'm afraid there is currently no cmdlet that provides this information.

  • Full screen with Wyse V10L (WTS)

I saw a few discussions on this before, but none of them have more than a workaround... and not a very viable at this.

When you use a Wyse V10L (running a WTS operating system), users who log on are presented with a "windowed" mode... the bar of WTS on the background (think windows start bar) is present when running a guest operating system.

This poses a problem, because users often end up clicking this button instead of the windows XP Start button.

The workaround is to log on to the workstation using VMware View Client and set the full screen mode, first.  Therefore, all additional connections, either by the client of broker/thin or view, by default in fullscreen.  Change the option in the settings of thin client is not possible... it is grayed and on any computer virtual does not use the Client to view the value "windowed mode".

There must be a configuration file or a setting or something I can change programmatically... somewhere it's just a matter of finding that the configuration.

Does anyone have any ideas where I could start looking for such a config file?  It would be perhaps in the VMX somewhere, or is it stored somewhere on the server?

You need to login to http://commerce.wyse.com/ - your Wyse account representative should be able to get an account for you, if you have warranty or maintenance Wyse thin clients

We test VMware View 7 with as many Thin Clients and customers zero (Teradici)

When we try to connect via RDP Protocol, it works fine. When we try to connect via the PCoIP Protocol, desktop display seems to blink (about 2 times per second) and display resolution is not acceptable. So, there is a problem with the Protocol (broker or Office VM)

There are no firewall in the middle.

Desktop virtual has a clean install.

    Hello colleagues!

    VMware View 6.1.1 construction-2769403

    VMware vSphere 6.0.0 2776511

That's what's wrong: used SecurityServer and connecting to the server. External connection - via a router. When it is connected to a vmware PCOIP Protocol (Internet) outside of the view with a Windows client and a web browser, it works fine. But when connecting from Android or Linux (Ubuntu 14) load the desktop does not occur. Android immediately displays the message 'connection to server lost', Ubuntu delivers all messages - I'll be back on the screen to select a pool table.

Which connection via MS RDP connection protocol is correctly to all customers.

In the settings ConnectionServer in PCOIP Security Gateway set up the external address of the router.

    Redirect them router ports:

    -TCP 80,443,8443,4172,32111

    -UDP 4172,32111

    Any ideas?

In security settings server in 'URL of PCOIP' was FQDN, but it must be the IP address.

Hi guys, I want to test creating Pools with 2 Active Directory domains. I have set up my environment as follows:

    Domain A

    1. connecting to the server

    Server 2-composer

    3-Security Server

    4 - vCenter Server

    Domain B

    1. connecting to the server

    2. created a separate account to View Composer

For now seen Horizon 5.3.2 is fully functional on the field. But I need your help deployment pool using domain B. After you have configured the connection Server (joined to Domain B), I tried to add domain B by using view composer account by logging in to view Admin(Domain A) > Edit vCenter Server > change display composer settings > check server information (under Domain) but I'm 'Bad domain name.

You guys please help or send me a link of approval one way of installation which is required for VMware View, so that I can deploy Pool using domain B.

Without creating confidence, I added redirector conditional field B on the field which allow me to add domain B without "Bad domain name" pop up. But I don't know what to do next. Anyone can guide me please.

    Concerning

    Hello

I've done below the configuration to create 2 different pools where VM is joined to 2 different domains.

I have Domain A and domain B, having 2 confidence way configured by the AD team.

I sent 3 win 2 k 8 Server and added to the field.-a. On a single server, I installed vCenter & composer on one server I installed the login server & the other I did the Server fall back to the existing connection server.

In connect to server, I added vCenter & composer. I have 2 different users who have domain join rights in Domain A and domain B.

    Domain-A\abcUser

    Domain-B\xyzUser

I added above 2 users in the view composer under domain settings. PFA.

When creating a pool, in the comments tab customization for users of domain-A, I chose identifier of domain-A\abcUser machine Domain-A and the AD container, which is present in Domina-A place machines.

for domain B user created another pool, and tab customization of comments, I chose domain-B\xyzuser and the AD container that belongs to the domain B to place machines.

If you want to add a different machines, you must not deploy a connection/replica server in each domain. Just add the ID domain user under domain composer view tab and choose the right ID when creating the pool.

  • Is it possible to remove the disposable disc to a pool configuration in VMware View?

I would like to remove the option of disposable disc several persistent pools in VMware View Horizon 5.3.1 (where virtual machines are already using disposable disks); However, there doesn't seem to be a way to do this in the options of the pool. Is it possible to remove the disk otherwise option or should I remove the old pool and create a completely new without this option enabled?

I used disposable disk option seems to be to save storage space, but I discovered that disposable disks have been updated only when displaying launched a turning off the virtual machines in the pool (which never happens). I thought that disposable records updated each time that a client shutdown/restarted the VM... but which is not the case. Given this information, I would like to stop using disposable disks as they really may not confer any advantage the way our persistent virtual machines are configured.

Thanks in advance for any help!

OK, you're right... only the drive letter customization is allowed.

Now to answer your question, the one and only formally is to remove the pool by archiving all disks persistent (user data disk), and then create a pool with the same name (but without SDS).

In addition, select all the archived UDD and then click on, "recreate". All new desktop computers will be recreated with the new spec,

Another way (not officially committed / not sure of its effects)

EAP-SVIVmPersistentDiskSpec entry will be there to ADAM OR = database server groups (VMware KB: connecting to the Database View ADAM)

This entry will be there for disposable system that has a parameter "DiskUsage is SystemDisposable".

Upron deleting the corresponding entry * may * end configuring don't not the SSD for the supply of others.

  • VMware View customers logout - log for debugging PCoIP shows "sessionDisconnectTimer: set the timer to 2147480 seconds.

I have operators who are still on my desktop 24/7/365.  Assuming that there are no other problems, they get kicked out of their sessions from view after about 24 days.  We use Thin Clients HP running ThinOS and VMware View Client.  When I check the log for debugging on the Windows 7 VM, I see that when the connection is established, he wrote the following line:

    2014-09-09 08:44:30, 807 DEBUG < MessageFrameWorkDispatch > [wsnm_desktop] sessionDisconnectTimer: set the timer to 2147480 seconds

After the expiration of the time limit, I get the following messages in the same newspaper and the client disconnects:

    2014-09-09 08:30:08, 571 DEBUG < TimerService > [wsnm_desktop] sessionDisconnectTimer: triggered timer, session is disconnected.

    2014-09-09 08:30:08, 571 DEBUG < TimerService > [wsnm_desktop] session::SessionDisconnectTimedOut: Disconnect message posted on the desktop

    The host is EXSi 5.0.0

    VMware View Server is 5.0.0 - 481677

    See Agent 5.0.1

Operating system is Windows 7 Pro running on the virtual version 7 machine

It is a known problem that has been fixed in 5.3.2 view - the global time-out in minutes is converted to a time in milliseconds, which then overflows a 32-bit counter. See Overview of VMware View Release Notes

A desktop session is timeout and be disconnected after about 24 days, 20 hours and 31 minutes, even if the Session time-out setting has been set to a higher value.

  • Can VMware View - I connect with Microsoft RDP?

    Hello world

Can I connect via the Microsoft's RDP client Vmware View environment? No view, just Microsoft RDP client. I have a thin client model and just support Microsoft RDP Protocol. I want to connect environment seen through this customer.

    Thank you.

    Grosbois

You MUST have a client of VMware view. Then you can connect through it to view desktop using PCoIP or RDP Protocol.

You will be able to connect to the desktop using RDP display if your thin client is located in the same subnet (and if RDP is enabled on the desktop to view server and you know its ip address) but would not use vmware view (if you want to connect directly to your desktop from RDP Why would you need to notice), which would also directly access to a machine as you access all the other Windows VM.

And its always advisable to disable direct RDP on view desktops.
