  • Cisco ASA 5510 L2L VPN on the backup interface

OK, here is what I have and I even if I knew how to do this, but it has not worked for me.  I hope someone out there can help you.

I have an ASA 5510 running 8.4 with double configuration of ISPs on 2 different interfaces: outside (primary), backup (backup).  I also have a site to site VPN ASA another in another city.  The VPN is now configured on the external interface and works very well.  What I wanted to do, is to make the VPN running on backup interface only.

So, I changed the card encryption on the remote side to use the backup interface IP and created a tunnel-group for her.  Then, I created a map encryption for backup interface and activated ikev1 on it.  The default route is configured to use the external interface, so I created a static route that routes traffic destined for the external interface of the remote side to the backup interface default gateway.  I can get to establish tunnels, but no traffic passes through them.  I have however while I need a NAT device for the tunnel traffic to I created a NAT so but still no transmitted traffic.  I tried the packet - trace and he said: the traffic was allowed and show its crypto ipsec command, I see the configuration of the tunnel, but no traffic will pass through it.  Can anyone help?

    Ben,

you use a code to version 8.4, I recommend starting by removing the config NAT statements at both ends. This version does not have the NAT and control, and if you don't need... I've seen instances with 8.4 (3) where a NAT even though apparently correct was causing not to pass through the traffic.

    Site A:

NAT (inside, backup) source static obj-SiteALAN obj-SiteALAN static obj-SiteBLAN obj-SiteBLAN

    Site b:

    NAT (inside, outside) source static obj - 192.168.5.0 obj - 192.168.5.0 destination static obj - 192.168.3.0 obj - 192.168.3.0

If possible, you should increase your AES encryption, but this is a personal point of view and should not stop the traffic through the links. You should be able to see the counters for the data transmitted / received are these incrementing?

Do you have the ACLs that are from the inside to the outside and internal interface to the Interface of backup (duplicated.

In this model, the control is the routing.

    Best regards

    Ju

  • S2S VPN Asa 5510 to 5505 no traffic passing (hair Pulling)

I have one site to another configured between a 5505 and ASA 5510, the tunnel is in place but can not pass any traffic one way or another. A 5510, 8.4.3 while the 5505 was 8.2. I find the version 8.2 the less confusing when configure the VPN. The new NAT throws me for a loop on the 5510. I have 1 tunnel upward and will already and it works fine. But when I do a new online, it won't pass any traffic.

    The traffic I'm EFS is 5510 (192.168.180.0/24, 172.25.11.0/24)<-------> 5505 (192.168.197.0/24) many thanks in advance!

Here's the configs for the two.

    Hello

The reason for the DECLINE suggests that the ASA has still attached to the L2L VPN VPN filter configuration that prevents traffic.

Check the configuration and remove atleast VPN filter temporarily for testing purposes.

  • Site to Site VPN ASA 5510

OK my forehead is painful to all keyboard strokes that I know that it must be something simple, but I am brand new to the SAA.  I had a site to site VPN configuration via routers 1751 that worked very well, but we're looking to add some more remote field offices, and I felt that it would be easier to maintain several sites is on the ASA 5510.  I have the VPN configured on the SAA and he said that the tunnel is up.  I can telnet to the ASA and ping the remote gateway on the even side of VPN and it pings fine.  If I try to ping on a local computer, I get a "Request timed out".  If I makes no changes apart from go to the computer room and replace the network cable the 1751 and then through the 1751 I can now ping the remote door way to my computer.  The remote router works obviously very well, my statement of route on my router for vpn push through the ASA (same ip address) IP traffic that has been used by the 1751 works obviously. It seems so just like ASA is not being pushed in the ethernet0/0 VPN traffic or at least it is not encrypted.  I also noticed that the ACL for NAT seems to increase in number of access either it seems, there is really just one small thing missing to make the ASA except and encrypt incoming traffic on ethernet0/0:

My network is not configured with a DMZ is something like that, the ASA ethernet0/0 and my local network on the same subnet:

    Router (Cisco 2811)

    |

    Layer switch 2 (ProCurve)

    |                                      |

    ASA5510 LAN computers

I'm trying to except both sides of the VPN in and out on Ethernet0/0 traffic I saw there was a framework for this "permit communication between VPN peers connected to the same interface' and I've activated this option.

In short, I need to understand why the VPN tunnel shows that upward and I can ping the remote of the SAA, but peripheral gateway on my network can not ping to the remote gateway through the int Ethernet0/0 on the SAA.

From the console of the ASA, I get this:

    ASA5510 # ping 192.52.128.1

I haven't added anything to the config except what seemed necessary to get the job of VPN tunnel.  It should be fairly clean.

Thanks in advance for any help... I really hope that it is something really simple as a recruit ASA just forgot

Strange, but good news. Thanks for the update. I'm glad everything is working.

  • Site to Site VPN - ASA 5510 / 851 router - no Sas?

We have installed an ASA 5510, version 1.0000 software running.  In a remote area, we have a Cisco router to 851 with tunneling IPSec VPN for a PIX 515e.  I try to open a backup between the 851 and ASA connection new, and I have a problem.  I used ASDM on the side of the ASA and CCP on the side 851 and created a new VPN site to site on both, with PSK encryption algorithms, etc..  I checked the connectivity between the external interfaces of the two devices, and the associated ACLs are simple, because they allow all IP traffic on the internal side of the two devices to talk with each other.

When I do a "crypto isakmp to show his" on the SAA, I get "there is no its isakmp.  When I do the same on the 851 router, I see only the existing connection to the PIX.  It seems that the tunnel does not run again.  I turned on debug various crypto and sent a series of pings, and I don't see any tunnel initiaion even be attempted.

CCP has a VPN to test the tool built in to the router.  ASDM has a similar feature?  Here's the relevant configs (at least I think... the SAA is enough Greek to me):

    Michael,

Since you are using the same ACL, subnets, even and even while on your router to your VPN 1 tunnels config and 2, your second VPN tunnel will not succeed because the router already has a tunnel with the PIX for the same traffic.

If you want to configure the ASA as peer backup scratch the second card encryption and instead, add the public IP ASA as a second peer under the original crypto configuration.

    Like this:

    crypto map SDM_CMAP_1 1 ipsec-isakmp

    description Tunnel to65.42.15.142

    set peer 65.42.15.142

    set peer 12.49.251.3

    game of transformation-ESP-3DES-SHA1

    match address 102

The router will attempt to connect to the PIX and if this fails (which means that the PIX has never responded) then it will try to connect to the ASA.

To test it, you could do either of two things: 1. taking the internet conection low PIX will make the router try to connect to the secondary host. 2: change (temporarily) on the router address peer of the PIX to a bogus IP that won't respond, when only one omits the router must try to negotiate with the ASA.

    I hope this helps.

  • WiFi comments at the Public VPN (ASA-5510)

    Hello

I have an ASA 5510, that has the following configuration:

    interface Ethernet0/0

    nameif outside

    security-level 0

address IP 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.240 (fake IP for obvious reasons)

    interface Ethernet0/1

    nameif inside

    security-level 100

    IP 192.168.0.200:ABCD 255.255.0.0

    interface Ethernet0/2

    nameif comments

    security-level 100

    IP 10.10.10.1 255.255.0.0

    Global 1 interface (outside)

    NAT (inside) 0 access-list sheep

    NAT (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0

    NAT (guest) 0 access-list sheep

    NAT (guest) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0

    -------------------------------

What I do for a client (eth0/2) Wifi comments access to our VPN configured on the external interface?  It is a Cisco AnyConnect VPN installation using the mobile client.  As it is, they identify the DNS since the WAP and try to connect to "vpn.mysite.com", which resolves itself into the public IP (interface) outside my ASA.

When I was asked first to authorize this change, I thought it would be a simple NAT rule but I think I'm missing something that I can't get this to work.

    Thank you

They are not capable of VPN for the external interface of the IP address of the guest network because it is by design not permitted.

They need to connect to the IP comments to be able to VPN to ASA comments network, and you will need to activate AnyConnect on the interface of comments as well. "vpn.mysite.com" would then need to resolve the IP comments when they are connected via the comments interface.

  • SSL VPN ASA 5510 connect Any

    Hello

I want to configure SSL VPN for mobile users on ASA 5510 I have following requirements

    > What are the condition of licence on ASA 5510 VPN with Anyconnect SSL?

    > VPN users have full access to the local network via ASA

    > Authentication method preferred, Local or AD (LDAP)

    > users use not laptops should be limited to the Clientless SSL VPN

    > How to add a URL is visible to users in the Web page

    > Can someone view example configuration for the above requirements

    TIA

    Hitesh Vinzoda

    > If you need both AnyConnect and WebVPN (Clientless SSL VPN), you can buy the AnyConnect Premium license (and this is a base user license). The ASA would come with default 2 SSL VPN license.

    > To have full access to the local network, you must use AnyConnect SSL VPN. Here is an example of configuration:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a00808efbd2.shtml

    > You can authenticate to AD or Local or RADIUS, etc. By default, this would be local authentication.

    > Here's some example configuration for clientless SSL VPN:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a008072462a.shtml

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a00806ea271.shtml

    Hope that helps.

  • With the help of ASA 5510 L2L and VPN L2TP

I would let my remote users access to all resources bhind the ASA and my remote branches.

Here's my setup.  ASA5510 as a hub to the data center.

172.21.x.x of internal network directly connected

    DMZ directly connected 172.22.1.x.x

    L2L branch1 VPN 10.47.x.x

    L2L branch2 VPN 10.47.y.x

172.21.y.x remote users L2TP Windows Client

I can access my internal resources related to the ASA but not the DMZ or branch offices. I need injection road routing and reverse?

You also need to configure crossed.  http://goo.GL/vLqAR

  • ASA 5510 L2L VPN static gateway of azure and branches and

    Hello

I am trying to configure an ASA to operate as a hub between two site-to-site VPN, at our office and the other on Azure.

    i.e.

    Office <-- internet="" --="">ASA <-- internet="" --="">Azure

On the two sites I can establish a VPN for the hosts of the ASA and access on our data center network, but I can't seem to get the connectivity from end to end of Azure at our office or vice versa.

Any ideas on what I can try as I have been hitting my head against a wall with this one.

    Hello

If traffic also came from the blue to office network so it would seem that there is a problem with configuring VPN L2L between ASA and Azure, very probably on the Côte d'Azur.

  • Cisco ASA 5510 multiple dynamic config VPN L2L necessary

    Hello

We have a Cisco asa 5510 with static IP address. Also, we have a remote office with a dynamic IP address. We now have a dynamic to static VPN configured L2L. And now, we must add new tunnel to another site with a dynamic IP address. Is this possible? Does anyone have an example of woking, or manual?

The config only you need in the ASA is: -.

    (2) political ISAKMP

    (3) dynamic Crypto map

    (4) default group L2L & PSK

  • Cisco ASA 5510 VPN Site to Site with Sonicwall

I am trying to configure a tunnel between a Cisco ASA 5510 VPN (Version 8.2 (2)) and TZ200 Sonicwall. I rose tunnel and go and I am able to ping the internal IP address of Cisco ASA of the Sonicwall LAN but nothing work. When I try to ping a host behind the Cisco ASA of the Sonicwall LAN I get the following message "rules asymmetrical NAT matched for flows forward and backward; Connection for tcp src outside:10.20.10.x/xxxx dst inside:10.20.2.x/xxxx refused due to failure of reverse path of NAT"on the SAA

Googling the error above shows the problems with version 8.3 or later that resembled the nat commands have been changed SAA, train is still on 8.2 but I another common question does not add an exemption of NAT I have double-triple checked that I did add an exception rule of NAT of the hosts on the network from cisco for the guests of the Sonicwall network. Looks like I hit a road block so any help would be appreciated. Thank you

    Hello Manjitriat,

Okay, detected IPSEC parody is normal, that means you are trying to send unencrypted on a line of encrypted packets.

Now, if you see on the plotter of package that traffic will hollow the VPN channel all its fine in your site.

Now the packet tracer must be something like this:

    entrance to Packet-trace inside private_ip_lan destination_private_ip_lan 1025 tcp 80

Please provide us with the result of the following instructions after you run the packet tracer.

    See the crypto Isakamp SA

  • Unable to connect to server vpn behind ASA 5510 with windows clients

    Hi all

I've seen a number of posts on this and followed by a few documents of support on this issue, but I'm totally stuck now, nothing seems to work for me.

This is the usual scenario, I have a VPN windows 2003 Server sat on the lan deprived of our ASA 5510 firewall, and I try to get my Windows XP / 7 laptop computers to connect to it.

    Within the ASDM:

    (1) Server Public created for Protocol 1723

    (2) Public created for the GRE protocol Server

    3) created two public servers have the same public and private addresses

    (4) the foregoing has created config Public Private static route in the section NAT firewall

    (5) rules to Firewall 2 also created above on the external interface for both 1723 and GRE

When you try to connect, I get the following entry in the debug log.

    6 August 6, 2010 17:09:37 302013 195.74.141.2 1045 1723 ChamberVPN-internal built ride connection TCP 1889195 for outside:195.74.141.2/1045 (195.74.141.2/1045) to the inside: ChamberVPN-internal/1723 (XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/1723)

    but nothing else.

The server shows not attempting a connection so I think I'm missing something on the firewall now.

Also inside interface there is a temporary rule:

    Source: no

    Destination: any

    Service: IP

    Action: enabled

This should allow all outbound traffic only as far as I know...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

ASA newspaper indicates that the connection is interrupted because of "syn timeout. This means that asa receives no response from the Windows Server. Right now, we need to clarify some points.

1 - your vpn server committed a correct default gateway error or the path that lies in your fw interface asa.

is 2 - possible to start capturing packets on Windows Server. Hereby, we can get data flow information beetween client and server. And we can be sure that Windows Server wonders vpn.

  • False claims RADIUS of customer VPN Cisco ASA 5510

    Hello world

I use the Cisco VPN client 5.0.7 and Cisco ASA 5510 (7.4 and 8.4.2) VPN RAS solution. Clients are authenticated using certificates and RADIUS AAA (ACS 3.3) and AD.

Each time, when the client connects, ASA 2 RADIUS requests questions, correct first - which is successfully authenticated by FAC and immediately - second that always fails. I couldn't find information related to this strange behaivor. Function "Double Authentication" (more sympathetic to his name) is only accessible to Anyconnect customers who we do not. When I'm authenicated by using password group, there is only one query RADIUS.

What is the source of such behavior?

The negative impact is that my logs are filled with the failed authentication attempts fallacious and users are incrementig attempts failed in the AD meter.

    Hello

It is a 'classic' error and has nothing to do with dual authentication, but rather with the fact that you do both radius and authorization of RADIUS authentication.

    If you remove this line:

    authorization-server-group RADIUS01

you will see that it starts to work properly

In short: when ASA no authorization of RADIUS, it sends a request to access radius with the username as a password, that's why you see the second application fails all the time.

This is because the RADIUS authorization is intended to be used when authentication happens using certificates (only) so there is no password.

Also note that within the RADIUS protocol, authentication and authorization are not separate things, both occur in a single step. So if the ASA makes the radius authentication, he already gets the user attributes in the authentication step and it makes no sense to also make a separate authorization stage (except in a few very rare scenario where you have 2 radius servers, one for authentication and another for permission).
