VPN Client 4.8 use/needs in bandwidth

Apologies this has answered before somewhere...

No one knows the approximate bandwidth of 4.8 customer needs? Basically I have an internet connection of 7 MB to the dedicated address and I need to know how many concurrent VPN IPSEC users I can accommodate before having to pass the pipe.

Kind regards

Stuart

  • How to match tunnel-group with auth ASA 8.2 and IPSec VPN Client using digital certificates with Microsoft CA

    Hello

I set up a lab for RA VPN with a version of the ASA5510 8.2 and VPN Client 5 software using digital certificates with Microsoft CA on a Windows 2003 server. I did the configuration based on this document from Cisco's Web site:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/partner/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a0080930f21.shtml

Now, the vpn works fine, but now I need to configure a tunnel-different groups so I can provide different services to different users. The problem I have now is that I don't know how to set it up for the certificate is the name of tunnel-group. If I do an ASA debug crypto isakmp I get this error message:

% ASA-713906 7: IP = 165.98.139.12, trying to find the group through OR...

    % ASA-713906 7: IP = 165.98.139.12, connection landed on tunnel_group DefaultRAGroup

So, basically, when using certificates I connect always VPN RA only with the group default DefaultRAGroup. Do I have to use a model of different web registration for application for a certificate instead of the user model? How can I determine the OU on the user certificate so that match tunnel-group?

    Please help me!

You can use the group certificate mapping feature to map to a specific group.

This is the configuration for your reference guide:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/partner/docs/security/ASA/asa82/configuration/guide/IKE.html#wp1053978

And here is the command for "map of crypto ca certificate": reference

    Hope that helps.

    Hello

I have a big problem, we have implemented Cisco VPN client to connect to outside to our internal servers. My problem is that all users access to the internet while using the Cisco VPN client. We use the split tunneling, but still all VPN clients access the internet. An advisor to prevent access to the internet through VPN client.

You said earlier that you allow split tunnel. Are you still doing that?

We would need to see all of the VPN configuration - including access lists or objects referenced - to provide comprehensive advice.

  • Through a PIX VPN client

    Hello

It seems to me having confused TAC with this question:

I have a client who has two firewalls PIX 501. One in DC (pix - a) and one in San Diego (pix - b). They are both connected via a static IPSec VPN. Works fine, no problem. I also set up two of them to accept connections from Cisco VPN Clients for these people who are on the road a bit. It also seems to work in most situations.

However, when you try to connect to one of these two firewalls with the Cisco VPN Client when I'm behind other PIX (resembling a third party site that is not attached to a pix - a or pix - b by all means of transport), establishes the tunnel, but I can't move the traffic to the Remote LAN. At first I thought it was due to the NAT on my home PIX (pix - c). Then, I tried to work, behind a PIX who don't use NAT (pix - d) and got the same results. I should mention that trundle making IPSec is enabled on pix - c and pix - d.

Establishes the VPN connection very well from outside pix - c or pix - d. I can connect and ping perfectly.

I thought this would be a simple "oh yes, this turns ' or"this is is not supported", but the TAC engineer who picked up my case does not seem to grasp the concept, nor understand how to read my .gif image of visio four firewalls PIX drawn in the exact scenario described above.

    Thank you

    evt

What version of IOS is there on pix - a, pix - b?

What game of transformation for vpn clients do you use?

In all cases, you must enable NAT traversal on pix - a, pix - b.

  • Using Cisco VPN Client in Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

    Hi all!
I need to use Cisco VPN Client to connect to my server in the company, because my company uses lotus notes Server, I have to connect Cisco VPN to access e-mail. But now my windows version is Windows 7 Pro 64 bits that cannot directly install this application, I already installed XP Mode and creatde shortcut to Windows 7, I plugged the Cisco VPN to my Cisco VPN server, but I can not access the server, Pls help me and show me how to solve this problem

Open the XP VM itself, do not use the shortcut that was published in
the W7 boot menu. You need to install Outlook / your email client
Inside the virtual machine, as well as on the side of W7. You can point to the same
PST files if you have local PST files, but you just can't open them in
at the same time of W7 and XP VM.

There is no way to bridge using the shortcut of publishing app

Some people have reported success with the third party IPSec
replacements as customer universal shrew or the NCP. Your IT Department.
would like to know if these are supported

  • Using VPN Client coming out behind a PIX

As I understand it, a PIX can operate as a VPN endpoint for IPsec tunnels, or allow IPsec traffic to pass to the other endpoints behind him; My PIX is an end point, but there are a few users who wish to use the VPN Client to connect to outside points beyond the firewall.

Is it possible to configure a PIX to two pass through IPsec traffic AND be an endpoint?

On a related note, two customer software VPN hosts can connect to each other?

    Thank you

    Marc

My pix company does exactly what you posted, there is lan - lan vpn, and we again establish vpn to other companies via a software vpn client.

concerning the transmission of described video, it should not need additional acl or configuration assuming that there is no acl on the pix. a question must be noticed is that the other end (i.e. the end point of the remote vpn client) needs to nat-traversal since the local pix usually perform nat/pat.

However, the vpn directly between two clients is not feasible as its name suggests (they are the two client).

  • Need help configuration IOS IPsec to enable communication between the VPN client

Hi, I need help with the configuration of IPsec VPN router 2811. I want to allow communication between VPN clients, is that possible? I know that ASA, you can do this by using the command "permit same-security-traffic intra-interface".

The fact is that each Client IP communicator installed, but when they tried to call each other, he failed. I guess that's because the connectivity between them is not permitted because of the VPN connection.

    Thanks in advance...

  • What are the ports used by the Cisco VPN Client?

    Hello

I need to open my outgoing traffic on my firewall to allow two interns (LAN) Cisco VPN Client to connect to their Internet virtual private network.

I already opened the port 500/UDP, but they are not able to connect. If I open all outgoing ports, they can connect.

What are the ports used by the Cisco VPN Client?

    Thank you

    You need to open:

    UDP 500

    ESP protocol

You must also open the UDP 4500 port (if using NAT - T).

In addition, if the clients are connecting to a VPN 3000 Concentrator series and it is configured for all other options of NAT-transparency, corresponding ports must be open. By default:

    1. If using IPSec over TCP 10000, then open TCP 10000.

    2. If using IPSec over UDP 10000, open UDP 1000.

  • How to check if the address pool is used by the vpn client

    Hello world

I need config anyconnect VPN on ASA existing who also owns the remote VPN client running.

Under the ASDM when I click the address pools

    I see two address pools

Pooldefault that I can see is used by vpn distance courses.

PoolX - this subnet is not assigned to the user now.

Is there a way I can check if PoolX subnet is configured to assign the IP address to the remote VPN?

    Concerning

    MAhesh

    Hello

On the CLI, you could check the output of

    See establishing group policy enforcement

    and

    See the tunnel-group race

to see if the PoolX is used nowhere in the VPN configurations.

Of course, you can also just simply look for the configuration and see if there is anything else than the current configuration of the PoolX on the SAA.

See the race | PoolX Inc.

This should probably display only the command "ip local pool ' if the address pool has just been created but is not used anywhere.

You need the giaddr in an EasyVPN server configuration.  Try adding looping to your switch and test it again.  If you use an iVRF, make sure that the closure is in the VRF and the interface to the server.
