VPN client, ip local pool &; mask
Hello
I use cisco with a 7206VXR vpn client.
I set up a "local ip pool" that gives us the ip address for each connected client.
The pool is set up like this:
pool of IP local pool-Z 10.3.1.1 10.3.1.254
and we use it like this:
Configuration group customer crypto isakmp ZHANG
key AKEY
pool pool-Z
ACL ACL - Z
The problem I have is that we get an IP with a 8 mask but the mask I want to use should be 16.
Where I specify the network mask?
Thank you
Hi Benoit
You must specify the NETWORK mask in client configuration group
Configuration group customer crypto isakmp ZHANG
key AKEY
pool pool-Z
ACL ACL - Z
subnet mask 255.255.0.0

Problem Cisco VPN Client with local authentication
I configured PIX for the Cisco VPN client for remote access. It must be connected and also inside network is accessible. It is without any authentication username. It works well with a vpngroup name and the password for the vpngroup, configured on PIX and also on the Cisco VPN client. (version 4.6)
When I configure crypto for local authentication, it did not work. configuration is as follows.
#crypto card: name of the map of local authentication client
I created a user with private = 15.
Client VPN must be connected, and then it pops up a window user name and password. After giving these details. The user is not authenticated.
Are there patterns more to do in / isakmp / ipsec / aaa configurations.
Thank you

VPN clients are unable to access internal resources
Hello
I have problems with internal resources from access to the content of VPN Clients. They connect using Cisco VPN Client, they connect correctly, an IP address from the correct range is given and I ping to the internal server, but any other type of access as Server terminal server. Ping to server ip from the inside is answered by interface router public ip instead of the internal server and I don't know if it's this way. There isn't any ACL applied.
Crypto ipsec debugging I see this error when I do the server terminal server:

Hi Anotino,
Problem seems to be with the NAT configuration on the router. The NAT config is now below:
access-list 1 permit 172.16.72.0 0.0.0.255
NAT_WAN1 allowed 10 route map
corresponds to the ip address 1
match interface Dialer1
IP nat inside source overload map route NAT_WAN1 interface Dialer1
We need to change it to look like this:
access-list 100 deny ip 172.16.72.0 0.0.0.255 172.16.73.0 0.0.0.255
access-list 100 permit ip 172.16.72.0 0.0.0.255 any
NAT_WAN1 allowed 10 route map
corresponds to the IP 100
IP nat inside source overload map route NAT_WAN1 interface Dialer1
This should make sure to go to the pool of clients VPN traffic United Nations concerns and therefore, you should be able to access the network using the private IP (172.16.72.2 for example).
Try this and tell me if this solves your problem.
Kind regards
Assia

Can the NAT of ASA configuration for vpn local pool
We have a group of tunnel remote ipsec, clients address pool use 172.18.33.0/24 which setup from command "ip local pool. The remote cliens must use full ipsec tunnel.
Because of IP overlap or route number, we would like to NAT this local basin of 172.18.33.0 to 192.168.3.0 subnet when vpn users access certain servers or subnet via external interface of the ASA. I have nat mapping address command from an interface to another interface of Armi. The pool local vpn is not behind any physical interface of the ASA. My question is can ASA policy NAT configuration for vpn local pool. If so, how to set up this NAT.
Thank you
Haiying
Elijah,
NAT_VPNClients ip 172.18.33.0 access list allow 255.255.255.0 10.1.1.0 255.255.255.0
public static 192.168.33.0 (external, outside) - NAT_VPNClients access list
The above configuration will be NAT 172.18.33.0/24 to 192.168.33.0/24 when you go to 10.1.1.0/24 (assuming that 10.1.1.0/24 is your subnet of servers).
To allow the ASA to redirect rewritten traffic the same interface in which he receive, you must also order:
permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

How to check if the address pool is used by the vpn client
Hello world
I need config anyconnect VPN on ASA existing who also owns the remote VPN client running.
Under the ASDM when I click the address pools
I see two address pools
Pooldefault that I can see is used by vpn distance courses.
PoolX - this subnet is not assigned to the user now.
Is there a way I can check if PoolX subnet is configured to assign the IP address to the remote VPN?
Concerning
MAhesh
Hello
On the CLI, you could check the output of
See establishing group policy enforcement
and
See the tunnel-group race
to see if the PoolX is used nowhere in the VPN configurations.
Of course, you can also just simply look for the configuration and see if there is anything else than the current configuration of the PoolX on the SAA.
See the race | PoolX Inc.
This should probably display only the command "ip local pool ' if the address pool has just been created but is not used anywhere.

6500 IOS router Cisco VPN Client using DHCP no Pool of IP
Hey guys,.
I have a little trouble trying to get my vpn client to use a dhcp server rather than the pool of intellectual property. When I use the command IP pool everything works fine, but when I use the dhcp command I get an error on the client-side saying that no address private IP was affected by the peer.

I can see the dhcp request and offer on my dhcp server but nothing is for the customer. When I use a pool I ping the dhcp server, which makes me think the roads are okay. Anyone has any ideas.
You need the giaddr in an EasyVPN server configuration. Try adding looping to your switch and test it again. If you use an iVRF, make sure that the closure is in the VRF and the interface to the server.

ASA VPN cannot ping ip local pool
Hello
We have ASA 5510 a device be deployed for a period of time. Everything works fine except customers local VPN cannot ping local customer VPN which get their IP address to the local swimming pool. They can ping anywhere on the local network of company, but not each other. I don't know there's a logical explantion for this because of an ACL but all appreciated the advice...
Thanks in advance
Keith
Hi Keith,
I think that, in order to allow a customer VPN reach another VPN client, the SAA should turn the VPN traffic (because it will receive the traffic of a VPN tunnel and re - again to send another tunnel.)
Can you add "same-security-traffic intra-interface permits" and try again?
Federico.

Hello
is it possible to install?
I have a pc and I want to connect to the Remote LAN.
PC (using vpn client) - vpn (internet)---> ROUTER1 - a vpn (MPLS network)---> ROUTER2---> SERVER site
How can I connect to a remote server? Is there an easy way?
I did the configuration of the vpn client (I can connect ROUTER1 and access a LAN via vpn with 192.168.1.x), but I can't connect to the server, even if I set the subnet (192.168.1.x) under the access list of site to site vpn (access list for traffic that must pass between ROUTER1 and ROUTER2).
Please advise! Thanks in advance.
Looks like I've not well explained.
On ROUTER1
===================
1 ACL VNC_acl is used to split tunnel, so you should include IP server_NET it NOT vpn IP pool.
2 ACL najavorbel is used to set the lan lan traffic between ROUTER1 and ROUTER2, 2 you should inlcude
IP 192.168.133.0 allow 0.0.0.255 0.0.0.255
You must change the crypto ROUTER2 ACL of the minor or the najavorbel of the ACL
The other way to is to the client VPN NAT IP to a local area network lan IP ROUTER1, in this way, you don't need any changes on ROUTER2. But I have to take a look at your configuration to make the suggestion.

We are testing the upgrade to version 8.2 to 8.4 on the ASA 5505 and ran into a problem. For VPN connections, we created pools. Some of the pools were limited to a single IP address. After the upgrade, the ASA rejects the pools which had only an IP address instead of a range. In the command line if you type a question mark after typing in the "local ip pool (pool keyword)' in config mode it says" specify an IP address or a range of IP addresses: start [-end] ' by the word 'or' sounds as it should, except a single IP address, but it doesn't. The error is "Please enter a valid IP range."
Does anyone know the soultion to this problem as well as increase the range?
Thanks for your comments.
The syntax below worked for me on 5505 with ver 8.3
test mask 192.168.10.1 IP 255.255.255.255 local pool
Check if it works for you.

How to allow access to a local area network behind the cisco vpn client
Hi, my question is about how to allow access to a local area network behind the cisco vpn client
With the help of:
- Cisco 5500 Series Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) that is running version 8.2 software
- Cisco VPN Client version 5.0 software
Cisco VPN client allows to inject a local routes in the routing table Cisco ASA?
Thank you.
Hi Vladimir,.
Unfortunately this is not a supported feature if you connect through the VPN Client. With VPN Client, that the VPN Client can access the VPN Client LAN host/local machine, not host from the local network to business as customer VPN is not designed for access from the local company network, but to the local corporate network.
If you want to access from your local business to your LAN network, you need to configure LAN-to-LAN tunnel.

Installation of VM with VPN client access to the network local provents
What is the best approach for the connection to the VPN in the following scenario?
We want to install VM for our projects as VPN client networking (using the cisco vpn client). In many cases the VPN profile that is configured by the client is configured to prevent access to the local network, but rather the tunnels all through the VPN.
I tried the NAT and Bridged networks and once you connect to the VPN client, the conectitivy of the virtual machine is limited to the VMWare console. SSH and other connections no longer work.
Thanks for any idea.
I'd VNC - that's what I use for a VM XP that uses the client VPN SecuRemote CheckPoint blocking the same way (wisely) off incoming traffic when the connection is made to the other end of the VPN.
Just paste lines similar to the following in your .vmx file when the virtual machine is shut down:
RemoteDisplay.vnc.enabled = TRUE
RemoteDisplay.vnc.port = '5910 '.
RemoteDisplay.vnc.password = 'somepassword '.
RemoteDisplay.vnc.keymap = 'uk '.Note that you point your VNC client software on the IP address (and port of your .vmx file) to your server 2.0, not the virtual machine host. Use a different port for each computer virtual you need simultaneous to access.

Cisco VPN Client cannot ping from LAN internal IP
Hello
I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge about it, but I got a version of the software running ASA 5510 7.2 (2) and has been invited to set up a site with a client, I managed to get this configured and everything works fine. In addition, I created a group of tunnel ipsec-ra for users to connect to a particular server 192.168.10.100/24 remote, even if the connection is made successfully, I can not ping any IP on the LAN 192.168.10.0/24 located behind the ASA and when I ping inside the interface on the ASA it returns the public IP address of the external interface.
If someone out there could give me a little push in the right direction, it would be much appreciated! This is the current configuration of the device.
Thanks in advance.

Hello
Seems to me that you are atleast lack the NAT0 configuration for your VPN Client connection.
This configuration is intended to allow the VPN Client to communicate with the local network with their original IP addresses. Although the main reason that this is necessary is to avoid this traffic to the normal rule of dynamic PAT passing this traffic and that traffic is falling for the corresponding time.
You can add an ACL rule to the existing ACL NAT0, you have above and the NAT configuration should go next
Add this
permit inside_nat0_outbound to access extended list ip 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.11.0 255.255.255.0
Hope this helps
Let me know how it goes

VPN site to site &; outdoor on ASA 5520 VPN client
Hi, I'm jonathan rivero.
I have an ASA 5520 Version 8.0 (2), I configured the site-to-site VPN and works very well, in the other device, I configured the VPN Client for remote users and works very well, but I try to cofigure 2 VPNs on ASA 5520 on the same outside interface and I have the line "outside_map interface card crypto outdoors (for VPN client). , but when I set up the "crypto map VPNL2L outside interface, it replaces the command', and so I can have only a single connection.
the executed show.

Windows - Internet access, no split Tunnel L2TP VPN Clients does not
Greetings!
I have four ASA 5505 that I configured with 4 site to site VPN tunnels (works perfectly) to connect to our company facilities 4. The ASA is also configured with remote access L2TP/IPsec so that a specific group of users of portable computers can connect to and access to all facilities. It also works very well except for one important exception - my split tunnel setting doesn't seem to work, because I can't connect to the Internet outside the VPN resources.
I accept the inherent risk of allowing tunnels to split from a security point of view since I take the necessary steps to secure the systems used for remote access. I would appreciate any feedback on how to get the job of split tunnel.
Here is the configuration:

ASA Anyconnect VPN do not work or download the VPN client
I have a Cisco ASA 5505 that I try to configure anyconnect VPN and thought, I've changed my setup several times but trying to access my static public IP address of the external IP address to download the image, I am not able to. Also when I do a package tracer I see he has been ignored through the acl when the packets from side to the ASA via port 443, it drops because of the ACL. My DMZ so will he look like something trying to access the ASA via the VPN's going to port 443. Here is my config
