  I am running the following:

  vrops Version 6.0.1.2523163

  Log insight Version 2.5.0 - 2629935

  I installed the v1.0 vROps 6.x content pack in Insight Journal and used this article very useful when configuring the liagent.ini file

  Everything seemed to go well, but the end result is no data of vrops Li and connection errors in the newspapers of the agent without clear indication of why it is not agent connection.

  Viewing the log file, I see a lot of counters indicating the date, the agent of time shows that he has worked for a few days now with more 8 million observed events.

  However, interrupted events number matches the 8 million observed number of events which means that everything has been ignored "due to the overflow of local storage or rejected by the server" as stated in the article.

  Two things, I thought maybe to blame that I don't know how to fix:

  1. vmw_vr_ops_hostname = IP address? same as address of node? My cluster shows the node address as the IP address rather than a FULL domain name. I tried to provide as well in the ini file, but doesn't seem to help, but I find it weird that I don't see the name domain FULL configuration section that I linked to suggested that I should. And what is listed here would be that I filled in the ini file to vmw_vr_ops_hostname file?
  2. In vrops, under Administration > Support > newspapers > change the Logger Configuration > export to Syslog, no matter how many times I uncheck the box 'exit of syslog server logs' external and click ok the box remains checked off the coast. I'm sure that this must be unchecked, but even if it were problems, as I understand it, it would be especially causing duplicate rather logs that prevent all newspapers to appear as is my case.

  According to this article it is said: "If export syslog is configured then the required configuration of the specific agent is not set and the syslog Protocol is used instead of the cfapi." It is also very important to note that configurations can and will be replaced!   Given that syslog export was apparently when I first tried to set this up, it would make sense that this is what causes problems, but how could I then set? Especially when the user interface won't let not disable me export syslog on vrops?

  Very useful - I think that the problem is with the [server] section if your configuration. What is the host name = value? It can be solved? The reconnecting log messages are expected that the delayed connection makes it sound like the configuration of the host name does not.

• Vcenter 6 - integration vRealize Log Insight user access rights

  I'm to deploy the solution to the latest version of vRealize log Insight. In my work asked me if I could create a user account only to integrate Vcenter vRealize Log Insight that wasn't the root of vCenter. Search for documentation, I found information on this subject. Also important to remember that this account will collect newspapers of my hundreds of ESXI.

• Log Insight 3.3 shows several entries host consuming licenses - can I clean it?

  So I installed the Log Insight 3.3 for vCenter and it helped me to set up log shipping. Everything works well except two things:

  1. Duplicate hosts (see below) consume all my OSI licenses. Anyone know how I can clean one of the entries? (Of course, I can add FQDN ESXi host name if this is useful and supported)
  2. 5.5 ESXi hosts are not in list host - configuration double checked and restarted syslog. Possible due licenses OSI are consumed by the host entries a copy?

  Release notes:

  The host table can display devices more than once.
  The host table can display devices more than once with each in different formats, including a combination of IP address, hostname and domain FULL name. For example, a device called foo.bar.com may appear as foo and foo.bar.com.
  The host table uses the host name field that is defined in the syslog RFC. If an event sent by a device via the syslog Protocol does not have a host name, vRealize Log Insight uses the source under the host name. This can cause the device being listed repeatedly as vRealize Insight Log cannot determine if the two formats are pointing to the same device.

  # 1 there is no way manually clear entries - for/admin/hosts the entry will be deleted once that all data from this host spun on (i.e. based on the retention period), for/admin/license if you click the question mark next to medium active HMOs, it says "The average County OSI active is the daily average number of hosts sending events to Log Insight." the big question is why are you seeing duplicates? Duplicates saw if DNS front AND rear are or are not configured correctly. Duplicates can also result in malformed syslog events.

  # 2, the question is not duplicated OSI - if this does not work, it means that something is wrong. It could be the network report including DNS resolution on the ESXi host or network firewall configuration (no configuration host firewall). You'll probably want to connect to and 5.5 ESXI host and check things like syslog configuration validation, confirming the network connectivity to LI, confirming DNS resolution to the syslog destination is work, etc..

  There is no more free license of Foundation with the release of vRealize Operations Manager, but you can always use the Foundation free vcenter Operations Manager, that version 5.8.5 supports even the vSphere 6, see: VMware vCenter Operations Manager 5.8.2

• vSphere crash dump collector in vCenter 6 device

  I am looking for the collector of crash dump in market unit of vCenter in version 6.  Looking at the configuration steps following it does not appear that they have been updated for vCenter 6:

  Specifically, I'm not able to navigate to the device of vcenter configuration options using the port 5480, for example:

  Just in case anyone else is looking for the configuration I found it in the web client of vsphere standard (9443) administration-> system configuration-> services-> VMware vsphere, ESXi core dump collector.

  From there, the value of the service to start automatically and started the service.

  It looks OK on the collector side, I don't then PuTTY would host ESXi6 and ran the commands here:

  This seems to complete successfully, however when I test the configuration it times.  Anyone know of any additional measure?  Will there be a port to the firewall that I need to open?

  I have deployed the virtual appliance of vRealize insight journal for that purpose instead.  VCenter not sure whether the device is intended to be used as a collector of crash dump.

  I have a cluster of vROPs of six nodes in which each node is of average size is to say 8 vCPU and 32 GB of memory.

  Is it possible if I can convert the appliances virtual vROPs of large size, i.e.16 vCPU and 48 GB of memory and then shrink the clusters to 4 knots?

  I got up the ladder 8 knots from small to large just by taking a node offline, turn it off and add the necessary and memory.

  Finally I got the solution for this questions, "log/Storage/Log" partition used 100% vROPS because of who unable to continue improving.

  After clearing old newspaper on this partition, it will be upgraded successfully.

  Three weeks ago I improve my vmware 5.5 to 6.0 platform, and I installed a new copy of vRealize Operations Manager 6.0.1 Appliance virtual.

  

  So, I read that is a version 6.2 (Yes, guys very late, I know) and I wan't apply the update of my current 6.0.1 version 6.2 last version.

  For 'Collection', you would need to the vCenter with spread level activated:

  • Global reading: sanitary storage view: views

  To "Record", which is done only once when you first set up the instance of the adapter, you must:

  • Extensions: Register, Unregister, update extensions.

  Some people use an account with all the perms, some have two... It's just preference of the customer.

  Previously, where Hyperic has been installed as a stand-alone installation, we may enter vCenter and configure the Management Agent and perform the installation directly from the vCenter client.   I believe that you intend to vRealize Navigator Infrastructure that had a Web Client vSphere and VAPP plugin which has helped distance the Hyperic agent deployment.  WINE currently cannot be used for the deployment of the endpoint operations officers.

• HOL-SDC-1610 Incorrect Credentials for vRealize Operations Manager

  In the laboratory HOL-SDC-1610, during step 55 module, when you are prompted to enter the user credentials in the web client for vRealize Operations Manager, credentials given instructions not to allow access:

  Authentication source: local users

  User name: admin

  Password VMware1

  

  The credentials must be admin / VMware1!

  Please give that a try. Was he in the lab manual or the README.txt file where you found the password for this?

• vRealize operations - custom data center

  I have created two centres of custom data in the vRealize operations 6.1 Standard edition (each consisting of two Clusters of ESXi).   The grey '? "badges at the start are expected.  (1) the created object is new. (2) vROps needs time to aggregate scores badge for multiple groups added to your custom data center.  It is therefore quite normal.

  As to why they would disappear, I have no idea, but here are a few things to check.  Check under explore the inventory and see if your custom data center still exists as an object.  If this is the case, make sure that you connect back with the same user ID that you have created with.  Make sure that the user has permission to view this object.  Preferably, use admin if possible.
