vSphere not showing do not free space after deletion

Hello

We have ESXi clocked at our remote data center. I recently needed to free up space on the data store, so I used the tool FastSCP remove one VM folders, as I could find no way to do it using vSphere. It seems only to remove no problem, and the deleted folder no longer displays in the view FastSCP or through the vSphere client. But in vSphere, the figure of the free space has not changed. Are there any other required step that I neglected to find that space?

Thank you

vSphere client-> configuration-> storage-> refresh?

  • Reclaim free space after deleting Partition Bootcamp

After installing a new SSD and gives back to the top of time Machine, I deleted my Bootcamp partition on my MBP using Boot Camp Assistant. The Boot Camp partition, although MS-FAT was no longer bootable after recovery, and I thought again and use Winclone to retrieve my Windows backup.  The result of delete Boot Camp seems good:

    XXXs-MacBook-Pro: ~ the name list $ diskutil

    / dev/disk0 (internal, physical):

    #: NAME SIZE TYPE IDENTIFIER

    0: GUID_partition_scheme * 960,2 GB disk0

    1: disk0s1 EFI EFI 209.7 MB

    2: Apple_HFS Macintosh HD 959,3 GB disk0s2

    3: disk0s3 Apple_Boot Recovery 650.0 MB HD

But when I look at the storage, I find that I went 113 GB on my hard drive MacIntosh partition (or says my Time prior Machine backup) to more than 300 GB.  The Boot Camp 118.5 GB partition is gone, but the 'Other' segment seems to have increased to 284 GB.

I see a lot of solutions online for free space recovery after the removal of Boot Camp, but they do not seem to apply to me.  Many are for removals of Boot Camp failed using disk utility.  Several involve CS, but I have no basic storage.  I tried to boot into recovery and repair.  I tried several reboots to clear space.

    Any ideas, please?

Please after the release of the following OSX Terminal commands...

    diskutil list

    Cs diskutil list

    sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

  • No free space after deleting files - trouble with optimized storage?

Hi, I have macos Sierra and I deleted many files to my main drive and also to my external hard drive (both to the Mac OS Extended format) in preparation for the boot camp. I also emptied the Recycle Bin, although there is much less space on the two disks that it should be and the majority of the space is obviously indicated under "purgeable". I thought it would not be a problem, because I assumed that the space would be released, if I move all of the files there and if I need for the new Windows partition. However, this assumption was false. I can't simply use storage that I released. I can't move there all the files and I can't create the partition from free space. What can I do with it? It's pretty frustrating... Thanks for the help!

You must use the Bootcamp Assistant to create the Bootcamp partition.

Please provide details on the total space and free space on your internal drive. Post screenshots of what you see in system-> storage information. In addition, select the drive in Finder-I press control and post a screenshot of the window read the information.

Only solution is umount the point of editing or the db bounce. It is because of 'SEMAPHORE '.

Semaphores are sharable resources who take a non-negative integer value. They are manipulted by the P (waiting) and V (signal) functions that decrement and increment the semaphore, respectively. When a process needs a resource, a "waiting" is issued and the semaphore is decremented. When the semaphore contains a value of zero, the resources are not available and the calling process turns or blocks (if applicable) until resources are available. When a process opens a resource controlled by a semaphore, it increments the semaphore and the waiting process are advised.

    Version Infra grid: 11.2.0.4

    OS: Oracle Linux 6.4

    Storage: Enterprise-class storage (EMC VMAX)

Newspaper archives are stored in ARCH_DG diskgroup. Because of the unexpectedly heavy workload, our diskgroup ARCH_DG became full and we got the usual error

Although I could see messages "deleted archived newspaper" as stated above there are 2 inconsistencies (odd behavior)

1 inconsistency. Not a single byte released upwards of archive diskgroup. Each log archiving is 4 GB in size. I got "journal archived deleted" message at least 25 archived log files. For example, 100 GB should have been released.

The diskgroup to archive has remained at 99.9% as shown below and the DB was inaccessible.

    SQL > select name,.

Inconsistency2. The number of available archived newspapers remained unchanged. He was always showing 301

    SQL > select count (*) from v$ archived_log where status = 'A ';

    COUNT (*)

    ----------

    301

RMAN later > remove obsolete; command removed 17 archived newspapers.

This means that 17 x 4 = 68 GB should have been released.

But Diskgroup of free space and the County of v$ archived_log.status = 'A' is unchanged, as mentioned above.

, Of ASMCMD, I deleted manually a full archive directory connects using rm-rf command.

Even after running rm - rf on a whole directory full of archived newspaper space was not released and we always receive ""ORA-00257: archiver error '. "

So, we had to shoot down the cluster using "stop crsctl crs. After the cluster has been raised using 'crsctl start crs' on both nodes,

space has been freed up, and the DB became accessible.

I wonder why the ASM diskgroup space was not release despite the removal of the archive logs. Are the 1 & 2 above mentioned inconsistencies caused by something handle to open the file ?

    Hello

Please run command you at the level of the ASM, below

    Hello

In NO case should remove anything from the recovery partition.

Your recovery Partition was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.

    1. to reinstall Vista from in the case of a failure of the system, based on individuals or the keys at startup.

F10 or Alt + F10 or F11 are a couple of different manufacturers use sequences.

You will need to ask your manufacturer for proper sequence.

    2. to make the recovery disks on if your drive hard breaks down, so that you can then reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive.

Also ask them how to make records.

Your D: Recovery Drive is should not be used for backups, defragmented, etc..

There are backups on an external hard drive.

To resolve the problems that have arisen with the recovery D: Partition, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to remove all that has been added to it.

  • Why my UNDO is not free space?

    Hi all

    11.2.0.1

    AIX6

We continue by executing the same batch of jobs and app every day.

I want to check what UNDO is my data used in a day.

So I reset my undots1 drop it, created a new undots2 for a fresh reboot.

Then, I followed the use of CANCEL at the end of the first day. It has reached its use 6 GB.

To my knowledge, I thought it will just all reuse the days of size and extend no more.

But when I check the next day, he grows up to 7 GB and the next day as well.

My CANCELLATION continue to grow forever?

What happened, if I put my UNDO_RETENTION = 0? so it will free up the space used immediately?

Is this possible? How can I configure my UNDOTS to release quickly once I have post the transaction?

    Thank you all,

    pK

As I said before, if you're not facing problems, you don't need to change anything. Your settings look good.

If you look at several that queries will fail with errors, you can then start diagnose more on UNDO tbs parameters.

You can read through the following about the holdback, the optimal undo retention period.

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/server.112/e25494/undo.htm#ADMIN11463

To the size of your Undo tablespace, use the Advisor to cancel, you first estimate these two values:

-The length of your planned more long running query

After the database has completed a cycle of workload, you can display the field in the query to run longer on the subpage of the activity of the system of automatic the Undo Management page.

-L' longer interval that you will need for operations to Oracle Flashback

For example, if you plan to run Oracle Flashback queries for 48 hours in the past, your Oracle Flashback condition is 48 hours.

Then take the maximum of the two values, and use that value as input to the Advisor to cancel it.

The Advisor to cancel running does not change the size of the undo tablespace. The Counsellor simply returns a recommendation. You must use ALTER DATABASE to change the size of the tablespace data files.

  • vFRC shows no free space after restart of the vcenter

I have a new cluster I implement vFRC on. The cluster runs great and the vFRC which seems to work without problems. Unfortunately to restart my VCenter the hosts in the cluster always show all they have vFRC installed, but show 0 MB of available space. The only way to clear it is to place the host in maintenance mode.

It is of course difficult since it happens to all hosts on the cluster at the same time. Forces me to each stop all the VM on a host or disable vFRC on the virtual machine to a host to get into maintenance mode.

Anyone know if this is expected behavior?

or if there is problem kb/known, and I'm not finding?

or a good direction to go to diagnose why this is happening?
