When I type fast I noticed that wordswillnotspace correctly (for example) when I press on the tab normally. words are space correctly only when I hit the key more difficult.  Is there an option that allows you to change the sensitivity of the keys when you type?

It is probably worn. There is no Gill covers sensitivity level.

  • Dock keyboard W510 stuck in limbo?

    Hello

I plugged my dock + combo tablet to the charger before going to bed. In the morning, I noticed that the keyboard dock does not work anymore, the battery in the part of the Tablet has not been charged, and the little red light in the keyboard dock stays on even if it is not plugged to the charger more. The part of the tablet on its own works very well and is now in charge directly from the shipper, without the keyboard dock.

Is there a way to 'reset' of the keyboard dock somehow (some combination of keys for example)? Or would it help if I would just drain the battery of the docking station until it is empty by connecting a USB flashlight to the USB port (it is at least feed)?

Really, I wouldn't send the keyboard to the service dock, once again, after the trackpad issue was fixed last time. It is not very cheap to send it at my expense in all of Europe.

I drained the battery so that the small red light off. After connecting the Tablet part, keyboard and trackpad work again. However, one problem remains: Windows claims that battery #2 (i.e., one in the dock) is not present, and the led in the dock of small red flashes. I'll see what is going to do a bit of charge.

  • W510 does not detect 16 GB of RAM

Hi, I bought Thinkpad W510 a month ago and then I updated memory up to 16 GB. My laptop detects only 8 GB of RAM. I tried to change the RAM, but it detects only the RAM into the slots on the keyboard. It does not detect the RAM which is at the back.

    My Ram is DDR3 - 1333 - PC3 - 10600. I have 4 X 4 gigabits.

Am I missing something or I have to configure to make it happen?

    Thanks for any help.

    Ok. Fixed.

Necessary for installing memory in specific order.

Open a ticket with Technical Support and they guided me to the article. I do not have the link right now as they asked for specific serial number of google.

If I can find the article, I will udpate.

  • W510: Sound problem

    I have a weird problem with my w510. I use Windows 7 64-bit.

The key on keyboard to deactivate/activate the sound is out of sync with OS icon that is, when I turn off the sound of the keyboard, the icon in the windows task bar turns to mute and when I turn the key on the keyboard, it gets muted on the operating system.

Only problem is. The second problem is that I hear no sound at all... I just install drivers of Lenovo and its still the same.

The Device Manager shows any incorrect installation.

    Hi, _em_

It looks like that the speakers themselves might have gone wrong. The sound card still seems to work, because you can hear the headphones and anything else connected to the Jack, probably. Unfortunately, the best thing would probably be to contact Lenovo Support to 1-800-565-3344 to see if you can get the speakers replaced.

    It will be useful,

  • W510 5319-5RU i5 memory upgrade - only 1 taken?

Looking to upgrade memory, I discovered my refurb. machine has only 1 outlet. There is room for 2 Sockets but only the material for 1 module to install? I already upgraded before 6 GB (4 GB added) and it looks like embedded 2 GB (?).

Mused to do double 2 x 4 GB to 8GB maximum.

No idea what and how? Is this some old motherboard with a socket since it's the refurb?

Adds an option to only 6 GB module for me? Contact Lenovo?

The LENOVO reference book says that this machine has 2 Sockets for 8 gb max

There is a decision-making power under the keyboard and the other under the base of the laptop (which is the one you found).

The W510 Core Dual supports 2 x 4 GB of ram (8 GB). The quad core W510 supports 4 x 8 GB of ram (32 GB).

  • Random blocking - W510, Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid

    Hello

I was faced with a problem in which case my W510 becomes inadmissible at the keyboard or mouse entry and must be restarted. This happens from 4 to 6 times a day.

I couldn't put my finger on what makes it, then post it here in case others have had similar symptoms.

I'm on 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid). The symptom of the hang is as follows:

-always active mouse pointer can be moved across the screen]

-(sometimes) the mouse pointer shows the little hand grasping the hand such as the one displayed when you try to move a window (not the normal pointer)

-ctrl-alt-del doesn't do anything, or none of the keys alt - Fx, or ctrl-break etc.

-they have a USB key connected to ports USB LHS

    -Sometimes the subsequent startup crashes

-Sometimes the flight caps lock flashes on and outside, but not always

-There is nothing obvious in/var/log indicating a kernel panic or such other event

The fact that the problem is w.r.t. a bit sticky at the next boot gives to think it might be an overheating issue, but I don't currently have a way to measure this. Are there tools that monitor CPU temperature and the newspaper?

I would be interested to know if there is no diagnosis or I can activate traces that might give me a better understanding of what is happening.

The problem with the resolution that I've connected with has been set using configuration of the display resolution using the Ubuntu default display configuration tool, not the Nvidia tool.

    (BTW: the resolution is 1600 x 900, 1600 x 1200, as I have indicated by mistake).

  • New TP W510 freezing randomly

    Hello

Just got my new W510 TP and faced a freeze at random several times a day. I did a clean install with Win7 Ultimate and downloaded all the latest drivers Lenovo support page but the gel does not stop. In particular, it frequently during playback of a video, but when it freezes, I could still hear the video game but the PC does not have a mouse of keyboard commands. I thought it might be a display driver problem, so I uninstalled the driver. Since I did it, I don't have to deal with all the questions and I left the PC for 3 days now.

Looks like there is a problem with the Nvidia FX 880 driver (I also downloaded the last one directly on the site of Nvidia but which also kept freezing my system).

    Any thoughts?

    My Config:

    Win 7 Ultimate x 64

    Intel Core i7 Q720

    16 GB OF RAM

    NVIDIA Quadro FX 880M

    Thank you

    Ash

Search this forum, you can find a few cases like this...
    It comes to motherboard...

In my case, sometimes, I can use it without any freeze for 7 days... because it's randomly... when it happens, it could do 2 - 3 time a day again.

After change of motherboard... I never get any gel over 4 months now.

  • is it possible to order a t520 for a thinkpad t510 laptop keyboard

    Hi all

I wonder if this is possible because I think it must be something with the t510 design since my friend has a t420 and its keyboard is great. Unfortunately this t510 (and for the record, I had 3 replacement of keyboard) and each of the keyboard felt good at the beginning but after some use, themeslves felt stronger keys to break it. Either I'm crazy, but I think that my keyboard goes through phases... where previously in a first time the keys are extremely difficult to push and after awhile the keys get really easy to push and after while it slowly keys type on this keyboard starts to become harder to press down. It's really hard to believe, but it's true. Perhaps a defect in the t510 keyboard or I'm so no luck getting the same problem 3 times now with these replacement keyboards. Laughing out loud

    Thank you

    The keyboard on the T510, T520, X 220, T410, T420, T410s, T420s, T400s, W510, W520 are intercompatibles. So the answer to your question is Yes.

Just look for the part number of the keyboard under the keyboard.

What you describe is possible, as initially the mechanism in various plastic did not, once it is worn in the optimal point, the key will be easier to type on. But as you use it more, the essential mechanism will eventually wear out and create difficulties that you explain.

Like car engine, there is wear in the period for the parts of the engine once the engine of the car will feel smoother and eventually it will wear out.

P.S. But what you describe will be visible for people who constantly typing on their keyboards at a very fast pace.

  • W510 - install RAM

    Hi guys!

I've had my W510 for about 4 months now, and I couldn't be happier. However, I recently bought 8 GB of ram (1 333 Mhz - 2 x 4 GB) to replace my current setup of 2x2gb 1066 Mhz.

I found an installation guide on the Lenovos site that guided me very well. However, when they show how to install memory in slots under the keyboard, the video differs from my W510 (4319 - 29G) in a very annoying way. The location of the bottom is the song of the lower left corner of the laptop. Here are some photos I've taken "."

    Sorry for the blurry cam...

No where on the Lenovo site, the hardware maintenance manual, or anywhere on the internet they mention this, so I don't really know what to do. The only solution I can think of is to follow the service manual and remove the entire top of the laptop, but I don't know if that could result in the cancellation of my warranty.

in any case, this is why I write here... Someone at - he then seen before?

Just thought I'd give you an update. The solution was to disassemble the entire top of the laptop and then remove the thermal protection (2 screws, nothing major) and once that is done, insert the memory. Fact. So it's just the reassembly of the machine which is easy enough.

    Works like a charm.

  • Touchpad Iconia W510 turns off when the battery dies

I know this isn't the best subject line, but he described a kind of my problem.

My W510 Iconia came with Win 8 when new and then the empty Tablet two batteries so that I could use the touchpad for as long as I could use the device. Drained the battery of the keyboard first of all, there's enough juice to keep the touchpad and keyboard work and then switched to the battery of the tablet. When I closed the lid it load the battery in the keyboard shelf. Neat.

When I upgraded to 8.1 win he has changed so that it now would drain the keyboard battery almost completely and thus stops the touchpad. Sill keyboard works, however. Is not treated, it is a step backward and very annoying.

This turns a laptop very versatile and ergonomic for a tablet with a keyboard for about 50% of his total time of battery, which is a long time for this device. The only way using the touchpad is to charge the battery of the keyboard more than x % (when it is unplugged the touchpad up 0% works). I haven't checked how I need to load the keyboard in order to get the touchpad working again. I write this as it Chargers and 15% is still not restarting the touchpad, I guess I have to restart.

The other week I upgraded to Windows 10 and Win 8.1 behavior continues.

Of course, all the drivers and updates from Windows Update are installed and uptodate.

Y at - it a fix, a driver that it cures, a power setting which prevents the tablet to completely drain the batteries in the keyboard?

    Thanks for your time!

Because I failed to locate the drivers for the touchpad and reinstall so I used the system restore feature.

Curiously enough the touchpad began immediately the work during the restore process while restoring the system itself ended with a message that it was unable to restore Windows to an earlier version of point as no changes have been identified.

Well, everything is working now, so, my lesson is that the system restore can restore drivers and relaunch devices Device Manager can not find.

  • W510 and USB lost administrator password appears to be disabled.

    Hello everyone.

I recently bought a W510 of craigslist, the tablet was without charger and would not ask upward.

Purchase of a charger and turn on the Tablet, I can not login as administrator.

The person I bought the tablet of not respond to text messages.

I was not able to get the camera to recognize external USB devices, which means I can't restore or recover the original software.

    Does that mean I'm stuck.

I followed the instructions on several positions to try to get the tablet to boot on USB or dvd, but nothing works.

I even bought: external powered hub USB, external keyboard, external dvd drive.

    Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thank you

    Bruce

I could solve this problem once I bought the keyboard dock.

All attempts without the dock failed.

I have had 1 attempt with dock for windows reinsall 8.1 on this tablet and installed the drivers.

  • W510 and google earth directX

    Hi all!

I recently received a w510 and I am overall happy with it, but have faced problems with DirectX applications. It is said that the graphic component can handle DX 9, but running for example Google Earth led to the freezing of the pilot.

I see that the graphics drivers included in the update package newer (2.08) have about a year. What is the problem? I don't want to start games on the Tablet, but the Basic applications like google earth is something I'd expect to be able to run on the road.

Also, I saw that HP released newer drivers for the graphics component (as of January 2013) but I am unable to install them. If you modify the inf for the correct subprovider file and you get an error the drivers, not digitally signed are not. And if I try to make a new shoe with digital signining disabled when I get to the screen where I choose an option with F numbers - the physical keyboard does not work (some drivers still don't load probaby) and I don't found no way to bring up a software keyboard, so I guess we can't access safe since the w510 same mode (and all windows tablets 8).

Problem solved. All this has happened because the pilots of shit.

I managed to install the most recent 9.14.1130 drivers (08/01/2013) which have been made available for HP Envy x 2.

To do that you must modify the inf file, and then clear the driver signature and install drivers manually.

Google earth now works without problem using DirectX and directX performance is also better.

I hope that Acer is making a new driver package which includes this driver soon.

Using the mouse all to random tasks or someties will be stuck so I can't spend it slider farther to the left or to the right of futher. If I don't touch it for a few seconds, it becomes ok.
