W520 Bios Update Utility 10 64-bit Windows

Friends

Earlier, I had a Thinkpad W520. Looks like a powerful machine. He already started level Win 10 Pro 64 bit.

Now I tried to update the BIOS on this issue but don't know how to proceed. The current BIOS is:

BIOS
LENOVO brand
Version 8BET55WW (1.35)
Day 06/12/2011

So, it is already 5 years old. I tried to find utility to update BIOS for 64 bit Win 10 on the Lenovo support site, but not been able to find one for this model. I find one for 64-bit Windows 8, but not to win 10.

Can I use the Win 8 BIOS update utility to update my W520 at 1.42 BIOS? Or what are my options?

Thank you

Calle

On machines like yours that were ever sold with pre-installed win10, I suggest burning to a CD and update the BIOS in this way.

    Hello

just got my trusty zv5000 AMD out of the closet and intend to play with Linux on it.  At the moment there no bone because the HD has not, although I noticed that the BIOS is a former F.21 and would get to you last F.35.    Unfortunately, it seems that I can only do the update of the BIOS if I am running Windows.

Wondering if there is a bootable ISO or floppy image available that I can use to do the update.  I prefer not to have to locate a copy of Windows, install on a new HD just to update the BIOS.

Thanks for any help on this

  • Qosmio G30-211: how BIOS update on Vista 64-bit?

    Hello

The VAP is not compatible with Vista 64 bit. For the execution of the BIOS updated common modules of necessary VAP. Vicious circle!
Do you know of ways to improve the new version of the BIOS (3.50 win) not under Vista?

    Hello

Because of your first thread posted here in the forum, I guess you have a laptop Qosmio G30-211. This unit belongs to the series of PQG32E.

    Now, we must clarify something;
Toshiba laptops are not delivered with a 64 bit OS. Also the Qosmio G30-211 not was not preinstalled with Vista 64 bit, but with 32-bit Windows, XP Media Center Edition 2005.

In my opinion, to run the original image of Toshiba (or MS Vista 32 bit OS) for updating the BIOS. And not a 64 bit OS!
The BIOS of 3, 50 - WIN at the moment on the Toshiba page is OS independent, so it should be available for updating Vista or Xp.

In the BIOS zip file you will find only an exe file, and you must run this file to launch the BIOS update procedure.

    By the way; the document said Toshiba;

For the current offers in the range of Toshiba laptops two different BIOS update procedures.
-Windows base update: BIOS is updated to Windows.
-Traditional update: BIOS is updated using a floppy disk or a CD-ROM when starting.
We recommend that you update the BIOS from Windows.

Today I updated my laptop Windows 7 to Windows Home 64 bit OS 10. Everything seems to work fine, except the WIFI. Windows can't find my card, but don't wake him. My button built-in wifi (f12) got a red light on the subject, even when I pressed it. I tried the buttons Windows 8 wireless driver, but I does not solve my problem. With this driver installed the button turn the power Modeavion. Not between WIFI. Also the wifi settings WIFi will go off. When I try to turn it on, it turn on directly to 'off '. I gues it's a driver problem, so I was wondering if there is a next pilot? Or is there another way to turn it on.

Please help me. It is very annoying.

I've read som other forums and I came tot a solution:

    3. reboot the system
4 boot BIOS tot, load default values

  • Satellite U400 - after the BIOS update I can't start Windows

I have laptop Toshiba Satellite U400, PSU44E and Win XP. After you have installed the new BIOS v. 3, 80-WIN32, it is not possible to start Windows, it always ends in restart. It is also not possible to reinstall Winsdows, as it always ends with the blue screen.

    Any help or suggestion?
How can I install back my backup BIOS BACK?

    Hello

Did you really choose the good BIOS for your laptop? Because on the Toshiba site Web are different models U400 has so you choose for PSU44E BIOS on Toshiba page?

After the BIOS, you should load the default settings in the BIOS.
    Did you check that?

A downgrade from the BIOS is not possible. This is possible only from an authorized service provider. So, you should contact them and ask a technician for help. I m sure they will help you. ;)

  • x 61 was updated the BIOS with 7nuj21us.exe Failed BIOS update utility

Only, I have restored my x 61 to the original settings due to a problem with the blue screens and decided to update the BIOS right afterwards.  I followed the directions precisely and installed all 21 of each component for this model.

I then turn off the computer and turned it back this morning to continue to load the software.  The system started with the fan running at high speed and stopped at the ThinkPad screen.  However, nothing happened after pressing the ThinkVantage button and F1 or another touches besides.  I left for a few hours, but finally determined that I could not turn off or do anything with the machine.  He just hung there.  I did finally remove the battery and replace it and now there is not able to record when the machine is connected and it does not start.

Is there something I can do to recover the system?  I suspect that the answer is a replacement of the Commission.  The update of the BIOS was not at the same time with something on my computer.  I have just 2 years in the warranty period at the United States, so if I need to replace the card, what are the best options?

Thanks for your help and comments... it is a very frustrating twist, because this is my work machine.

    Dmtrich,

Certainly, we can download and system flash here, just to be safe.

I'm sorry that you have had this problem, I sent you a PM and email and we can follow up there to work through your specific.  Please let us know your concerns!

  • VCenter 4.1 update - support for 64 bit Windows 2008 R2

Hi, I was wondering if VCenter 4.1 supports Windows 2008 R2 64-bit?  OR if it supports up to Windows 2008 64-bit (Service Pack 2)?

Noticed a large number of entries of knowledge, but many of them are former comments so just look for the current level of support.

    Thank you

    HCC says:

My SQL Server 2005 is external and I executed the script to check the inconsistencies and that returned nothing, so I guess I can just run the datamigration for backup tool and install the VCenter on the new hardware.

There is no need to run the data migration tool.  You connect to an external DB, that identify only in your installation.  The schema will be upgraded and your inventory will be back as usual.  Just make sure you have a full backup.

    Hello

As far as I know the BIOS package downloaded from the Toshiba WE page driver contains the ZIP file self-extracting WinRAR 32-bit which includes both based on Windows and disk according to the BIOS update installation options.

    Hello

    I bought a B50 - 30 touch notebook 2 months in the United States.

Just before my visit to India, I have updated the BIOS to version 2.04 to 2.07.

Now I am unable to boot successfully in the factory-installed Windows 8.1.

I have reset the BIOS for the parameters by default in the system, but still failed to start successfully.

Even using the Novo button for system recovery results in endless reboot loop.

Kindly let me know if there is anyway that I can Flash the BIOS to version 2.04 using a USB flash drive.

I have both versions 2.04 & 2.07 of the BIOS update utility executable files:

  • Dell Inspiron 15R 5520 BIOS UPDATE

    Hello

I am updating a BIOS on a Dell Inspiron 15R 5520 using a DOS environment.  I downloaded the update to the BIOS of the support Web site of Dell, which is 5520A14.exe, and placed on a bootable USB flash drive using the Dell Diagnostics Deployment Package.

When I run 5520A14.exe, once I started the system it just comes up saying 'Test' and does not run in the BIOS update utility.  I thought that maybe the executable may be corrupted, so I downloaded again and still got the same problem.

I also tried to download the executable file for review 13, who did the same.

Please advise me on my next course of action.

Installation from a Windows 8 environment is not an option.

    Thanks for the help.

You will need to prepare a flashdrive bootable Windows - BIOS can not be flashed from a DOS environment.
