W520 config 2 monitors via Mini Dock 3

Hello

I have a W520 with NVidia Quadro 2000 M and 2 monitors Dell U2515H x.

The user guide Dell said to allow 1.2 DP that I did on both monitors.

I have the W520 on a Mini Dock 4338 and monitor 1 is linked to via a DisplayPort cable.

Monitor 1 I have then a DP cable into the output port will monitor 2 via the port.

My problem is that I can't get a double on both screens Dell display. When I use the control panel NVidia (version 8.1.870.0) & try to set up multiple monitors it shows a single monitor.

I looked in customization, click on detect, it shows the two valleys as monitor 1.

I want to thank the views. Any help appreciated.

Hello bigrobinrob,

You should find your answer in the following related to the thread; 2 external screens is possible but does not support the daisy chaining screens displayport W520.

  • Audio input/output ports Thinkpad Mini Dock Plus Series 3 with inactive W520

I have 3 laptops W520 and 3 Thinkpad Mini Dock Plus Series 3 docks. The audio 1/8 "output audio and MIC ports are not detected by Windows. In the sound settings, the high definition Audio Device is always disconnected. I read that there was a problem with background sound via ports audio on an earlier execution of these docks, but the production on these date are all 11/07 (after Lenovo solved the problem). Someone had a similar problem? The ports are inactive for the W520 by design?

Solution:... drivers. Should have checked that first. I thought that our support office would have done that. I thought wrong.

  • T400 and Advanced Mini Dock - does not detect DVI monitor

I have a T400 with integrated graphics and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, and I recently bought an Advanced Mini Dock for it.  I have a Dell 1800FP monitor connected to the dock via the DVI output.  When I anchor the T400, the system does not detect the external monitor.  If I go to the resolution of the screen and click on detect, it does not appear.  The weird part is that if I reboot then than in the dock, when the system comes back he * is * detect and use the external monitor.

Any ideas what's happening?  Other equipment connected by the base (USB, Ethernet cable devices) all work very well.

I think I solved this problem.  I uninstalled my video driver and installed the latest version from the Lenovo Web site (which was more recent than the one found by Lenovo System Update).  Now my system properly detects the external monitor when I attach to the docking station.

  • New mini dock and the W520

Look at the specifications for the new cradle of 433835:

    433835U mini dock

Did someone tried this dock with the W520? I would like to know 2 things before "redevelopment":

This shows that the W520 will have access to the USB 3.0 port on the dock. T it?

    He also stated:

    "Mini Dock Plus (90W & 170W): 2 x DVI, 1 x VGA, 2 x DP.

Many systems allow for two of these video ports to use simultaneously. Some systems, including those with NVIDIA Optimus technology, allow up to three video ports on the dock to be used simultaneously. »

Is that means the W520 can drive three monitors of this docking station?

    Thank you.

The USB 3.0 replaces on the previous docking station eSata port and is accessible when the W520 is docked in the station's docking port (there is only 1 USB 3.0). The number of monitors that can be operated by the W520 does not change with the new dock. This limitation is in particular use of the chipset NVIDIA on the W520. The W530 can drive 4 monitors.

  • T500 GMA DVI Boot - Advanced Mini Dock: works with a monitor, but not another

    Hello

I have a type of T500 2242 with GMA X4500MHD graphics in Advanced Mini Dock. BIOS 1.20, startup display set to the DVI connector. Cable DVI - D single-link of the dock-> DVI - D input on external TFT monitor. I get different results according to the attached monitor:

    (2) "Topaz" Soyo DYLM24D6 24 "native 1920 x 1200 S: external monitor stays off, the splash screen appears on the screen of T500.

Maybe there is something wrong with the Soyo is EDID? Or a bad interaction with the T500 BIOS?

I would be grateful for clues on how to get the start screen to display on the monitor 24 ".

    Thank you

    Frank

Good news! I sent my T500 in-service, and Lenovo replaced the motherboard. Now, the startup screen is correctly displayed via the dock to my monitor's DVI port external 24 ". After what Linux / X sees the external monitor and it puts in place and it displays correctly. So: problem solved! Thanks, Lenovo

Before the swap of the Board of Directors system, I was able to use a cable DVI DisplayPort / talk to the 24 "monitor. This requires an extra cable to plug/unplug, so it's nice to finally have the DVI dock work.

It seems that this problem only arises with some ThinkPad + external monitor combinations. My original system card worked fine with a 19 "monitor. And another Member pointed out that a single version of a 19 "works fine with its T500 Belinea monitor, even if a previous version does not. (See this thread for more details.)

  • Triple monitors with Thinkpad Mini Dock Plus Series 3 T520

    Hello

I have Lenovo T520 with home Mini Dock Plus Series 3 station.

I would like to connect three monitors, that is, two dviports and thirdly, one is the T520 monitor.

I updated my video driver for Interl (R) Graphics 3000 Driver.

When I try to run the NVIDIA Graphicdriver, I got a message error "the graphics driver is not compatible with the graphics hardware. I tried to find a solution on Lenovo forum

    http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/options-Accessories/mini-dock-plus-series-3-with-triple-monitors/TD-p/57...

It says that I need to enable Optimus in the system.

I can't understand what he found where I can activate Optimus?

You guys have any suggestions as to how I can put it up using two DVI ports instead of use the vga?

    Kind regards

    Thank you all guys.

While constantly looking for a solution to extend the number of monitor. I managed to find a solution. Today, I had "I - TEC USB 2.0 graphics video card" and he connected with one of the USB port. It works very well and I am also pleased with the video quality. I can separately used the third monitor. It is also possible to share the display between the second and the third screen.

  • W530 and Mini Docking Station - monitor not displaying at boot time

I have a W530 (2441A 53) and I just the mini docking station for it (433835U). We are using PGP Desktop, then when I start my laptop, it prompts me for a PGP password. The monitor does not display it for me at all. I have to go to the laptop, open it and enter the password (well, actually, I think I can probably get on the keyboard that I use with the monitor, but I don't see what is happening, and the docking station is in an uncomfortable situation). Once I get the password, and the machine gets more in the boot process, and then the screen finally shows what happens, and it's very well after this point (well, not exactly - it is not about taking advantage of the resolution of my screen - but I am not concerned about it right now).

Is there a setting I should do in the BIOS, Control Panel, etc., so that the monitor can function during startup?

In the BIOS, set the graphic display to the detection of Optimus discreet and set to 'disabled '.

  • Battery ThinkPad Advanced Mini Dock (250410U) display will not extend

  • Can't do two screens to work - T510 mini dock (433710U)

    Hello

I have two external monitors that I want to use at the same time. I have a Mini Dock (433710U) which has a VGA, DVI, and a DisplayPort. I connected 1 monitor to the VGA port and it was connected via DVI. When I used the dock, I get only the one plugged into the VGA port to display.

    Can anyone here help?

    Thank you!

You can change the direction of the screen extended using the display property, all you have to do is drag the screen to the location that suits you.

In addition, if you want to use all three LCD at the same time, we of the vga screen may need be run on the laptop itself, rather than via the vga of the station entrance.

  • Portege R500: unable to connect the remote DVI monitor via Dynadock

    Hello

I just connected Dynadock (DVI) with my Portege R500. The cell would be supported - according to Toshiba - but my experience confirms that Dynadock is not able to access the DVI ports. This implies, that Dynadock is nothing more than the USB HUB.

My setup: Vista 32 company b (CZE edition), the latest patches, Toshiba R500.

Software: latest dynadock software 2.3 c.

Symptom: I can't connect to the remote DVI monitor via the dynadock, there are only two external panels with 800 x 600, but Vista does not allow me to choose.

More information: software Dynadock requires to run without Microsoft Defender, otherwise it blocks the service: DisplayLinkService; file:C:\Program Files\DisplayLink base Software\DisplayLinkService.exe
If you turn off the MSDef, the "error 2738" message appears when you connect the dynadock and when Vista tries to install a missing drivers for you.
Yes, I know the VBS question and the problem is not caused by VisualBasic - VBS "Hello World" runs.

If you think always, Toshiba Dynadock is compatible with Toshiba R500, then press Fn + F5 and look at your logs and you should find something like:
In English: igfxext.exe throws an exception 0xc000000d, offset 0x0000f9f8.

I look forward to the comments, advice etc. If you are able to transmit this bug report to a responsible engineer, do please.

    Hello Leo

As far as I know, Toshiba has not designed for laptops models own only Dynadock and it can be used on every laptop or fixed. Because of this, I think that this statement about model of care is not so important for this problem.

Toshiba provides devices and software. To connect using the USB port, and these ports must each computer or laptop. I hope that you have installed the software by following the on-screen instructions (device of should not be connected to the start-up of the plant).

Is your Portege docked the host or you have connected Dynadock directly in Portege s USB port?

  • T400 and Advanced mini dock

Hi - I have a T400 with integrated graphics card and I'm looking into getting a mini dock advanced to run an external monitor.

What output resolution has done with success through the advanced mini dock VGA port? -This will help me understand which monitor to get, I read that many had bad signal of the dock when using the VGA port.

As my T400's only integrated graphics, I won't be able to use the port DVI - is this still true or something changed?

Your comments would be much appreciated,

    Thank you

    Cosmin

    Hi cosma12,

Your T400 with integrated graphics can digital video output through integrated DisplayPort or DVI connector on the advanced Mini dock. It is only the switchable T400 graph that cannot use DVI with integrated graphics card, they must use the ATI chip instead.

Graphics from Intel in the T400 can drive 1920 x 1200 on DVI or DisplayPort - which I think is the highest resolution, supported by the single-link DVI. If you are shopping for monitors, I highly recommend to make one with a digital input: DVI / HDMI / DisplayPort. the video quality is theoretically (and practically) better than when using analog (VGA).

EDIT: Oops, the T400 (and R400) do NOT have the DisplayPort, while the largest do T500/R500. My bad.
