W540 - CPU stuck at slow rate

Hi all

Had a w540 for a few days and so far, it would be nice.

This weekend I used the laptop on battery power for a long time and thus to define the bottom of the power management to save energy

However, today have switched back to power and power control performance max CPU is always concerving power.

Its operation (according to the Resource Manager) at 29%, and little matter how I do it sticks to this percentage.

The laptop feels his market at this clock speed too... everything is super slow... can watch programs drawing on the screen...

Someone knows what could happen?

Thank you

J

Weird, removed the power cable and replugged and kicking suddenly back to life.

    Hello

My CPU is stuck at 598 MHz. I think it has been like this since I bought it 2 years ago. I am in Australia at the moment and very rude support could not help.

I did a search in google and got a few answers, but nothing helped. I tried to change the management settings power, BIOS settings, BIOS upgrade, etc.. Nothing! The CPU runs at a max of 598 Mhz

Any ideas. I heard that there is a utility that could solve this problem, but toshiba has taken off the Web site for any reason

    Andrew

No, no update of the utility or the BIOS update will help.
It seems that the firmware must be updated on this laptop.

For the most part this microcode update is necessary after the replacement of the motherboard.
I think that there is without a lot of do you contact the service partner in your country for the microcode update

  • Slow rate pass on 5 GHz Band [e3200 + macbook pro osx 10.7.3]

    Ok...

Just got the e3200 dual band about a month ago and today he just started in place.

The 5 GHz band has a bit rate of about 25% of what makes the 2.4 ghz band.  It's funny, because 5 GHz is supposedly less interference to treat.

I thought it was a problem with osx, so I upgraded to 10.7.3, but always with the same result.  Then I played a bit with the different settings, but always the same results.  I gave and got on a chat session with the support that brought me to Flash the e3200 with the firmware file, reset and reconfigure.  Guess what... 5 GHz still slow.

Someone at - it suggestions?  I've tried everything under the Sun - software/firmware is all current, no major obstacles blocking the router, tried them all not mixed Firewall [-n] has, power modes, different bands... am I missing something?

Any help would be appreciated before going it one out of warranty.

    Thank you.

I know that other users say that the 5 GHz band is weird then call Cisco would probably be your best option. Generally, if there is a real problem, you'll have a case manager who will work with you to get a replacement, see if the issue must be examined, etc..

  • Since the installation of Sierra, trackpad stuck on slow

I upgraded to macOS Sierra yesterday, and since then, the speed of follow-up was butchered on slow. Adjustment of the speed in the preferences system by moving the cursor to 'fast' does nothing and if I go out and re-enter the system preferences and check again the cursor referred to "slow down." It doesn't seem to be a problem with my trackpad, as accessibility, I can put my speed to fast successfully. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

  • Slow rate of AirPlay

I use AirPlay to get streaming football online (from the Australia, is not available outside the internet streaming via browser) my MacBook Pro (via the wifi of 5 MHz) to my Apple TV and then (via HDMI) to my TV big screen. When the action on screen is fast (i.e. 90% + screen redesigned between the ribs), it becomes very bad on the TV due to the loss of images: according to my estimate, it falls to 3 images per second. The frame rate video of MacBook Pro is much better and watchable, is not a streaming problem, but a problem of airtime. I'm using the latest Mac OS, not sure of the Apple TV. How can I improve the frequency of images on the big screen?

    1. Restart the Apple TV (settings > general > restart).
    2. Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL cables for 30 seconds.
    3. Restart your router. (Also try to remove the power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    4. Restart your computer.

If you're still having problems, try disabling bluetooth, if it is enabled, also try to use 802.11n for wifi if you are currently using 802. 11B or 802. 11 g. • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 9300 - slow rate on EDGE

My 1st question is: is the BB 9300 3 or EDGE. Whenever I go on facebook it takes time for comments/photos to open. I don't have a lot of music on my phone. Last night I had bluetooth 25 songs on my phone. I don't have 8 photos and videos on my phone. I don't have other unnecessary applications. I noticed that this phone going between 3G and EDGE. When his EDGE on so I can put the phone away so I can't do anything.
My 2nd question: why when I download "free", as world radio applications, and when I use it, I have to pay. My service provider is unable to know that this is an application of BB.
question 3: if I have audio listen to a local radio station (www.lovefm.co.za) then I experience constant buffering. According to the radio host, I'm the only one that this experience. What can I do?
One of the reasons why I got the BB9300 is because there has been problems of slow response. And now with the 9300 it feels worse. Can someone help me please?

    Hello

It seems that WebLogic trying to check for the resource JSP reload... and he's STUCK in this process...

By chance you tried to disable the 'resource-charging-check-dry' in weblogic.xml by assigning the value "-1".
    And "* page-check-seconds *" in weblogic.xml "-1".»

    resources-charging-check-dry
The element is used to perform caching for cached resources that are found in the path of resource in the scope of the metadata Web. This parameter identifies the frequency of WebLogic Server checks to see if a resource has been changed and if so, it recharges.
A value of-1 means never charge. This is the default value in a production environment.
The value 0 means always reload.
A value of 1 means that reload every second. This is the default value in a development environment.
The values specified for this parameter using the administration Console prevail.

page-check-seconds Sets the interval, in seconds, that WebLogic Server checks if the JSP files have changed and need to recompile. The dependencies are also checked and recursively reloaded if changed.
A value of-1 means never check the man pages. This is the default value in a production environment.
The value 0 means always check the man pages.
The value 1 means check the pages every second. This is the default value in a development environment.
In a production environment where changes to a JSP page are scarce, consider changing the value of pageCheckSeconds to 60 or more, according to your needs setting.

Deactivation of the "page-check-seconds' can help to understand this issue...

  • VTEncoderXPCService the process using 100% CPU, slowing down of the MacBook Pro to a crawl

I'm running OS X 10.11.4 on my mid-2009, 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo 13 - inch MacBook Pro, updated updated to 8 GB of RAM. For these last days, a process called 'VTEncoderXPCService' has been constantly running like crazy on my Mac, using about 150% CPU. This slows down my Mac to a crawl, especially Safari, where I usually end up with beach balls every 20 to 40 seconds. I need help [figure out what is the cause, as my Mac is basically unusable because of the drop in performance.

This is a background process that converts the video in a photo or iMovie library. If an iOS device is connected, please disconnect. In the iCloud system preferences pane, uncheck that marked Photos. The activity should stop.

My CPU just to start running very slow after I did a system restore, I did initially to make it faster, but it did nothing but make it slower. Everything that I use my CPU is for videos and video games and the games that I play the frames per second dropped, I dropped the quality of games that I played and its worse then before. I do not understand why my CPU got even slower then before. There are also now have a time more difficult major videos loading when I could just click play just about any video, now I have to wait until it loads. I downloaded all the latest drivers. Don't understand why its even more slowly so that was before help would be greatly appreciated.  PS my CPU is a Windows 8 HP laptop

  • Stuck at Spotlight indexing

My MacBook Air (13-inch, early 2015, bought in September 2015), started the battery and overheating (temp CPU to 80 ° C), but fun to 1300 RPM in the last days. He also became slow, simple things like put YouTube video to play in full screen would freeze this tab and sometimes entire Safari. I got about 20 tabs open in Safari, and nothing else, but most of the time I have many more tabs and other programs that are running and it works. Several reboots and a SMC reset din't help.

Today, I noticed that when I use the projector there is a progress bar indicating the indexing. Also, I noticed that high CPU usage (so slow performance and overheating) is caused by a few mdworker and mds_stores process. These processes are used for indexing, so I let it run all by checking from time to time of the progress bar. Once I watched the progress bar amounts to 30% and a few minutes after his return at first. He continued like that for a while.

I did some research and found this: rebuild the index Spotlight to your Mac - Apple Support. When I put the disk hard Macintosh in the use of Spotlight Privacy tab CPU is back to normal and battery stopped draining. But I couldn't let Macintosh HD here because I use Spotlight much so I took it from there. After that I did this renewed Spotlight from indexing, but after leaving it for awhile, it just goes forward, jumps back and continues like this circle.

What should I do Spotlight could be successfully completed indexing?

Try the procedure suggested here: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/1072/spotlight-indexing-appears-stuck-w hat-can-i-do

But be very careful with the necessary controls in the Terminal!

  • High CPU after 10.11.3 at 10.11.4 upgrade

Use El Capitan successfully for several months, 10.11.1 to 10.11.3 migration. However, the upgrade to 10.11.4 led to relatively stable high CPU.

In particular, I see process launchd (about 75%), UserEventAgent (70%) and mds_stores (30%) CPU consumption at that rate there essentially all the time, the % overall slowed down when do nothig is about 45% - therefore on an end of 2014 retina iMac 27 inches with Fusion drive. Despite this, everything works still with reasonable performance, probably because there is still spare CPU capacity.

Looking at the Console log, I see a lot of

Removed some of the programs began and eliminated some of the agents launched (I think) and also re-installed from the recovery partition, but the problem is still there.

Someone at - it watched questions along these lines?

    Would appreciate any suggestions.

Try each of them in order. A test to see if the computer works properly:

    1. Reset the PRAM
    2. Reset the controller (SMC) system management
    3. Start the computer in Safe Mode, and then restart normally. It's slower than a standard home.
    4. Repair the disk by booting to the recovery HD immediately after the chime press keys control and R that the Utility Menu appears. Choose disk utility and click on the button continue. Select the withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) volume entry of the list to one side.  Click first aid button in the toolbar. Hold the button brings up. Disk utility and return in the Utility Menu. Restart the computer from the Apple Menu.
    5. Reinstall OS X by booting from the Recovery HD using the command and R keys. When the Utility Menu appears, select reinstall OS X and then click continue.
    6. Download and install updated Combo OS X El Capitan 10.11.4.
  • Subpixel draw slow sprites

    Hello.
I worked on a game of iOS with Flash for a while. Now I'm stuck with a display problem.

My game objects move very slowly and steadily and I noticed jittering/stuttering pretty bad. It's GPU Air 2.7 mode, mode CPU is too slow. The cause of the variation, it seems that the Air moving my sprites (from the PNGs) in the proceedings full and half-pixel, cacheAsBitmap/matrix are only enabled or not. What is an optimization by Adobe or can I get rid of it somehow? It's really annoying.

    Thank you!

    This gave a new index:

«Just cacheAsBitmap looks a lot worse because it produces full-pixel work.»

  • Blocked CPU Accelerator

Since I own my E7440 Latitude, I encounter the following problem:

The i5-4310U processor is supposed to throttle from 800 to 2600 mhz based on request.
However, after sleep it seems stuck at 800 mhz when running on battery power.

This translates into 100% cpu usage and slow performance. Rebooting solves the problem - until the next morning.

I hope someone can help me find a solution to this problem.
As a temporary solution I'm manually control the speed of the cpu with a tool called ThrottleStop.

(Potential) solution or explanation is welcome.

This problem was solved by replacing the motherboard.

  • Qosmio G10: OS does not work properly (very slow)

I have the same problem with the CPU. Pc slows down extremely, sometimes it's back to normal, but after a few seconds, it's like hell once again. I tried various OS (Win xp Home, Xp Pro and XP MCE) so far, but none of them does not solve the prob. I tried then to see if I can slow down the CPU manually, but that did not work, either. Kinda funny, because I had no probs virus, nothing.

Actually I don't really know what I should do now.
If there is anyone out there with the same problem, let me know, if all is well there is someone who has solved.
Otherwise, I'll go with linux, maybe that's going to work.

Anyway, please if anyone has good suggestions...

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

In my opinion, you should install OS using recovery media. The image content designed Toshiba all drivers necessary, and it should works well. It has been tested and there should not be any problem. If the antivirus application is installed it can slow down the BONE quickly (as in my case).

Like I said, the recovery DVDs to use for the installation of the OS and enjoy life.
