__Want to upgrade Vista 32-bit to 64-bit Vista on a system with 64-bit processor

Two people told me that I can get a free update of my Vista 32-bit to a 64-bit version.  I searched and who cannot find on the website of Ms.  My system has an AMD 64-bit processor and it is wasted as far as I'm concerned.  Not sure why Dell it sent with the intall of 32 bits in the first place.  Please notify.

If your Dell printer came prenstalled with Vista 32-bit, you are not eligible for a 64-bit version FREE disc.

This offer is only for retail licenses, your OEM license.

  • Upgrade Vista to Windows 7 with upgrade... activation needs

I got a slightly used work computer with Vista 32-bit on it. I tried upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium with an updated disc that I bought a few years at Microsoft.  Everything went well. It is installed properly. I downloaded ALL the updates to get SP1 +, but it seems to need an activation key.  Can I just buy a key without reinstalling the operating system or do I have to buy an another upgrade or full version of Windows 7 Home Premium?  Be specific on where, how and what to buy.  Thanks for the help.

Thank you.  I had to buy a new product key for Technical Support, but it went very smoothly and now Windows 7 is genuine.

  • Measures to upgrade Vista HW RAID1 system for 7?

Current system is Vista x 64 with two RAID1 arrays (including the system drive / boot), the RAID Motherboard (Intel chipset) controller.

What are the steps required to upgrade to Win 7 Ultimate x 64 (with RAID 1 migrated tables) on-site?

Is that need an upgrade in place as possible, given this new RAID driver for Win 7?

Thanks, guys, I appreciate the help.

Although there aren't still some of the characteristics of an independent RAID Intel Chipset RAID is a solution hardware, software is required for the management and within Windows error report. Just be aware that newer chipsets do not actually have built-in RAID. What chipset is your? I run an x 58 chipset that requires no driver to install.

For Intel RAID function is completely transparent to the windows and the iastor driver is built into Windows 7, the mirror will appear as its drive. Windows 7 has the same functionality of type F6 as XP, because it will provide the o/s controller card drivers but does not depend on a floppy and works via the USB port if necessary.

What software do you mean exactly?
    > There is a HDD Recovery folder in the second partition, but I fear that the use of it will be re - install Windows Vista as well.
Correct, but please don t forget that after a fresh install of Win7 you will not be able to access the HARD drive recovery image and installation of HARD drive recovery (F8 > fix my computer) will no longer work.

  • How can I upgrade Vista 32 bit to Vista 64 bit on a Sony laptop?

Hi there; Please tell me how I can upgrade Vista 32 Bit to 64 bit Vista on a Sony laptop?
Without having to install a new 64-bit version and then I lose my Sony laptop platform,.

that would prevent me from making the web.

(I like to keep all my installed Sony devices & drivers more bits & bats).
The disc tells me that the upgrade function is grayed out and pass through the windows!

    But does that mean?

    Peut-there please help me someone?
    Thank you very much.

    Hello

There is no way to upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit; they are different operating systems.

It must be done with a new installation of the 64-bit operating system.

First thing to do is to check with Sony to see if 64-bit drivers are available for your machine:

  • Cannot upgrade Vista Home Premium Vista Ultimate 64-bit

I have a computer with an OEM Vista Home Premium 64-bit version installed. I bought Vista Ultimate Upgrade 64-bit and when I try to upgrade instead of clean install I not give me the option to upgrade. Instead, I can install a clean install and lose all programs, settings, I have on my system that has taken a lot of time.  Why the copy I bought directly from the microsoft.com site does not my upgrade, even if it is the version upgrade of Vista? I want to be able to do things such as distance to this computer and the Premium version does not allow me.

Thank you for all the advice and help.

Make sure that you do not have 64-bit installed.

On your installed operating system Service Pack level cannot be greater than what is on the disk to upgrade.

Click Start > right click on computer > properties > system > it will tell you which SP you have install.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/948537

"How to uninstall Windows Vista service packs"

If the OS installed Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 1 upgrade disk > uninstall SP2 installed operating system > install the upgrade > reinstall SP2.

And run the upgrade of a Vista operating system.

  • Upgrade Vista 32-bit. Bought a third party software windows 7 Home premium 32-bit upgrade disc

    Original title: Upgrade Vista 32-bit

Buy a disc to update my pc using windows vista 32-bit. The disc has 4 netfx files. installation package I tried and get message asking me to install a setup of .NET Framework 1.1. Only having the disc I bought to upgrade. Help please.

Exactly where did you buy this drive?

The installer of Windows 7 should not be prompted to install the .NET Framework.

Try to download the installation media of Windows 7 since Microsoft Software download page or follow any other instructions to get the media to install Windows 7 32-bit:

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

  • Upgrade Vista 32 - bit to 7-64 bit

I pre-ordered the windows 7 home premium upgrade and know that it comes with 32-bit and 64-bit versions. My computer is running an OEM version of windows vista edition Home premium 32-bit (which came with my computer). My question is if I can move to the 64 bit version of windows 7 with the disc "upgrade"? Thank you.

As long as your system meets the hardware requirements, you can use 32-bit or 64-bit when you upgrade.  You want to change to 64 - bit, however, if you perform a custom installation.  This means that none of your programs and your settings will be carried over, and you will need to reinstall your software and adjust your personal settings.  An upgraded on-site, bring all your programs and settings forward, should you stay at 32-bit.
