Warning battery dv4-2165dx

My laptop DV4-2165dx, who is aged 4 years, now gives me a warning message at every single boot upward on the internal battery being low ability. This may very well be true because of his age, but I don't really like, and it is certainly unnecessary expenditure and all the hassle to replace.

So is it possible to stop this message appear every time you start upward? It slows down the whole process and is quite annoying to be told the same thing over and over again endlessly.

John

Battery is a chemical element and therefore a lesser life if the indicator can display a different or fresh level.

Check the battery:

To avoid this message, remove the battery from the battery/bypass.

  • HP pavilion dv4-2165dx entertainment notebook pc memory

So I have a hp pavilion dv4-2165dx entertainment notebook pc, and he had performance problems lately, which im pretty sure are problem with him having no not enough memory.

Yes, I'm going to clarify a bit before you go.
I ran clean on my laptop, turned off non-essential startup programs and done everything I could think to preform better, but nothing helped.
At the moment, I have chrome open with 6 tabs, Skype and League of open captions, as well as a few background programs such as Norton and Intel GMA HD Task manager said that he uses about 10% of my CPU, but about 60% of my memory. everything else on my computer seems to work perfectly, so what I'm wondering is if I upgraded the RAM in this laptop from 4 GB to 8 GB, if this would signifigantly increase performance.

I've been watching little ram to replace with if this would work, but I'm near clueless when it comes to computers, especially the RAM, like not committing almost $100 in something only to find out it did nothing.

This is the ram, I was looking to buy, which is PNY Optima PC3-10666 DDR3 SoDIMM 2 x 4 GB RAM that looks like $80, and I would like to know if it would work in my computer, and if it would solve my problems.

My laptop is using the configuration by default he had when I bought it, but here are the specs, just in case they are required:
    CPU: Intel Core i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13 GHz

RAM: 4 GB installed, 3.8 usable.
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Graphics card: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD
Disk space: 446GB (322 GB free)

If you need anything else, it just ask. I just really would like to help with this issue!

Now we are getting somewhere. As I said, this is aka the PC3-8500 DDR3-1066 memory.

    It will work for you:

  • Questions Charger HP Pavilion DV4-2165DX

    Greetings!

I recently acquired this computer which has been used very little and well maintained for life.  I have problems with the charging system.  I tried to replace the battery (twice) with official HP for this laptop batteries.  If I insert the battery, the machine will start very well.  If I remove the paste and use one of the two power cords I have for this computer (the two HP OEM bricks/cables) it works perfectly.  However, if both are in the machine at the same time, it will use one or the other.  I downloaded executable diagnosis of HP battery, and it is said that the AC adapter is not turn on/off.  However, if I remove the battery, the laptop powers on with the AC adapter just fine.  This machine is running Windows 7 Ultimate, X 64-bit edition.  It has all updates and is not malicious software that I have just rebuilt the machine with copy of my Windows 7 manufacturer.  Can someone please help me, for the sake of my sanity

    Thank you

P.S. .......... I tried searching everywhere for someone who has the same problem, and I have not found anything close.

Its a motherboard hardware issue unfortunately.

    Hello foanti,

Welcome to the HP Forums! I hope you enjoy your stay!

I understand that the computer asks you to replace your battery. I apologize for the late reply, but I will do my best to shed light on that!

This error message could be a mistake. Fortunately, Microsoft has released a document with the steps to solve this problem. If you follow these steps, it should cause the error to disappear if it is not true. You can find this document here: you may receive a warning message "Consider replacing your battery" properly on some old HP laptop running Windows 7

I think that these steps wil solve the issue. Whatever it is, please provide your results. Thanks for choosing the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • HP Battery Check status: unknown (90)

HP dv4-2165dx running Windows 7 64 bit with Support Assistant 5.2.9.2 and battery check 4.0.16.0

Battery status says 'unknown', with the 100% battery charge.  Battery seems to work very well, but not checking the battery does not seem to be able to connect to it.

When you run the battery check, it returns

    Status: Unknown (90)

    The long description is:

    Main battery

An error occurred trying to access the battery.  Please re-insert the battery and the power adapter for a new test of the battery.

The suggestion is to turn it off, replace the battery and AC power, I did several times.  I also followed the procedures outlined in another post about a battery check status unknown (94)... but no change.

How can I correct this condition such that I can get a battery status check valid, like 'OK', 'Calibrate', 'Replace', etc.

Is there a * easy * way to clean the battery contacts?

Note: Diagnostics of HP you can run before Windows (tube exhaust when starting) indicate that the battery is "defective", perhaps because the diagnosis can also access chip smart battery.

There is no other assignments by mentioning the battery... check (90) advanced status code just to code (94) elsewhere.

    Thanks for your help.

    Found the solution!

There is a new version of firmware, version F.0F (appears as 'F' to the poster information) which is available in the download section software.  Version F.0F is documented as the resolution of a problem with checking Service Advisor 5.x and battery.

I downloaded the firmware update, installed and then re-directed to battery check.  Now I have a proper status, with detailed battery status is displayed.  In my case, the battery is about 2 years old and needs to be calibrated.  But I now have a status legitimate and can go through the calibration process.

Note: I use Advisior of Service 5.2.9.2 and says there is no update additional software that apply... .but Advisior Service missing update of Firmware and will not download and install it.

According to the notice of Release Firmware, this firmware version applies to several laptop models.

After I calibrate my battery, I'll try running battery check and start diagnostics.  Diagnostics boot time also scored as battery being defective in the past... with the older firmware.

I'll post my results once completed.

    Hope this helps someone.

  • Samsung Ativ tab 3 power button doesn't work does not, the device always at 0% battery

I write about a Samsung Ativ tab 3 I bought recently.

The item was bought September 26, 13, model No. is XE300TZC-K01AE. The morning of October 3, 13, I noticed that the screen was frozen and not unlock when you press the power button. After pressing the Windows button under the screen, login screen came and I was able to connect to Windows. On the home page, noticed that the battery was at 0%, although there were about 45% of charge about 7 hours at least. I plugged in the charger, but the battery was drained down and power off the device. If the charger is plugged in, the blue light was not on and also the device wasn't turning on. The charger was kept connected up to 16:00, but the unit was still not turn on. After several calls and discussion with Samsung, the unit was sent to a service center for repair and the 10 - Oct.

The device worked absolutely very well once again, until last night. Yet once again, the device froze and power button did not work and the Windows button has been used to unlock screen after several attempts. Battery was showing 0% despite his accusation of 78% 15 minutes previously. The connection of the charger, the battery was still at 0% but not more. Fortunately this time around the closed device not down, but after 3 hours of connection of the charger, battery is always 0%. I would like to know any suggestions to help solve this problem. I tried to restart the battery APC controller in Device Manager, but there was no improvement. I am also attaching the powercfg command results.

    Rgds,

    Remy

two days later... the solution seems to be to simply keep going & not connected until the battery is empty (support of important things upwards at the same time). The fact that it took several days, I understand that the warning 'battery 0' is part of the dysfunction. During this time, you can sleep it w manually control 'turned off' in the bar of charms, ensuring not to turn it off (cos then you will not know if the battery is still empty) and turn it on the original key w.

Once the battery is completely empty (no response from the original key, little blue light by power button / stop), you plug it in and it works.

My guess is that explains what has happened before, when I (and others I read) he sent for repair. At the time where he got at the workshop had drained the battery, so they connected, found it worked, and he came back with a message like "you must have forgotten to load," the missing issue.

Let's see: if it is something that happens after a few months, & it's easily solveable, it isn't so bad. As much as we can always use it in the meantime that the battery is empty.

Wonder if regularly leave the battery can drain ever few months would avoid the phenomenon?

Be interested to hear what others have found.

  • Backlit keyboard for my laptop.

I recently bought a HP laptop and I was wondering if I could pass the keyboard by purchasing a backlit keyboard. I just want to know if the backlit keyboard would work with my laptop because I read that it is not compatible with any laptop.

Also, I would be able to buy and install a wifi with blutooth card, or my laptop is not able to use it?

    HP Pavilion Dv4-2165dx

    Hello

The first manual/guide on the following link tells you two things:

a montherboards for the series do not have a place for you to plug in a backlit keyboard. You need lights for the keyboard, not you? That's the average, you will need to buy a motherboard also.

    (b) a list of wireless cards compatible with BT (page 1-3). My suggestion, buy a BT - USB dongle for little money can solve the problem one avoid a lot of headaches.

I am computer repoair of my daughter-in-law.  When turn on he immediatey goes to "Windows Error Recovery".  After selecting 'Launch Startup Repair', he goes to the "Windows Boot Manager" who tells me to insert the windows installation disc, and then restart the computer.  This screen also shows error 0xc000000e.

After you insert the installation disc (I had to order from HP), I power cycle the computer and it brings back me just to the screen "Windows Error Recovery".

    * I checked the Bios (F10 at startup) and everything seems normal.

    * I tried recovering system (F11 at startup); I see the message "Go to System Recovery" in the lower left, but close up to the screen "Windows Error Recovery".

    * I ran quick test and full on the HDD and via Bios diagnostics memoery test - all past

I'd appreciate any ideas of what this forum can provide.

    Thank you

So, thinking that the computer has been infected by a virus that attacked the MBR, I started looking on the web for a free tool to check and repair the hard drive.  I found some Mini Partition Wizard tool [http://www.partitionwizard.com/partition-wizard-bootable-cd.html], downloaded their software, and using a free ISO Burner [http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/burnisofile.htm] created a bootable DVD.  Then, I started with this DVD and was not surprised at what I saw on the configuration of the hard drive.  After repairing partitions, I was able to boot from the installation disk that I received from HP and the files are now restored as I type this.

  • Pavilion dv4: battery does not charge even when it is plugged (load plugged says), but doesn't move 19%

    Hello hp Support Forums.

Hardware specifications of the machine (if required):

Laptop model: HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC
    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium x 64
    CPU: Intel (r) Core i5 - 3210M @ 2.50 GHz (4 processors)
    RAM: 8192 MB RAM (4096 MB x 2) DDR3
Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 4000 @ 1 696 MB
Audio: IDT High Definition Audio 16-bit
    HARD drive: 750 GB SAMSUNG Spinpoint M8 ST750LM022 HN-M750MBB

I own a laptop PC hp Pavilion dv4 laptop and this morning there was a sudden battery problem, I was playing Dota 2 and the Steam interface told me that the battery percentage was 12% (7 minutes from the end) then I moved and grabbed the chager, plugged into the outlet and plugged the charger in laptop a few seconds later the laptop turns off suddenly and won't restart, even if the charger is plugged there no light came from the load indicator.

A few minutes later do research for similar problems, there was a solution to remove the battery and the charger then press and hold power for 30 seconds and 3-5 minutes then return the battery but it did nothing.

After with some research, the indicator load on all of a sudden and when I start the laptop it was on 12 percent and billed not (there is no indicator that the charger is plugged) and turns off suddenly without warning.

Later, with a bit of panic and thought, I removed the battery and the charge light lit, which allows me to boot up the laptop and when Windows starts, I plugged it to the battery and it says: 19% (plugged in, load) so I track for a bit, but it didn't move at all, even when I changed the power of High Performance for HP recommended settings , window 19% available (plugged in, load) but it's just, it, don't move or anything like that.

EDIT: When I unplugged the charger to move my computer laptop and plugged in again, the indicator not lit and does not charge the battery thus forcing me to shut down or Hibernate, and remove the battery to the charge light.

Your battery is quite likely to be having no longer life left.

It is that if your laptop starts up without the battery, since the race, the battery test is not a viable option.

  • low battery level, does not give a warning.

    Hello

When my battery is almost empty it does not give a warning. I have a HP G62 and windows 7. My closed laptop (black screen). And I'm lost all my internet settings and think that I saved...

Problems began since I changed my HD (because my HD crashed). I changed my HD 52 00 RPM to 7200 RPM.

    Can someone help me thanks.
