Warning of low power for AIR-LAP1242AG-C-K9

Hey Buddie,

We bought a few AIR-LAP1242AG-C-K9, but not perchasing no matter what wireless controller. When I connect the TOWER to the port of Cat2950 or Cat2960 TRP, all the TOUR cannot start normally. It shows low power, please consult the attached two images. But if I use the external power cable, the TOUR can work well. So, I would like to know two things.

1. can I use stand-alone TOWER without using the controller?

2. If the above is Yes, how can I configure the PPoE on cat2950 to TURN Support correctly?

Q. can you a RIDE operate independently of a wireless LAN (WLC) controller?

A. No, towers may operate independently of the function WLCs. tours in conjunction with a WLC only. The reason is that the WLC provides all the configuration settings and the firmware that the TOUR needs in the process registration.

So you will need to return the AP and download the version of IOS, buy a WLC or convert the TOWER to IOS :(

Q. how to distinguish between a regular (standalone) AP and a TOWER?

A. the best way to distinguish between a regular access point and a TOWER is to look at the reference number of the AP.

LAP (AP light Protocol [LWAPP])? The numbers always begin with AIR-LAPXXXX.

Autonomous AP (Cisco IOS? Software)? The numbers always begin with AIR-APXXXX.

You can convert an access point of the mode light return to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS version that supports stand-alone mode (Cisco IOS release 12.3 (7) JA or earlier version). Step 4 connect the PC to the access point using an Ethernet category 5 cable (CAT5).

Step 5 disconnect the power to the access point.

Step 6 push the MODE button and hold the button while you reconnect power to the access point.

Step 7 hold the MODE button until the status of the LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds), then release.

Step 8 wait until restarting access point, as indicated by the LEDs become green followed the status LED flashes green.

Step 9 after the access point reboots, reconfigure using the GUI or the CLI.

I have problem, I try to connect AIR-LAP1242AG-A-K9 AP WLC 4400 with the 7.0.98.218 software, but the HA indicator is blink and always request new IP address (based on console logg AP), this device can ping from LAN but unstable (based on logg, the always AP request new IP address).

Anyone have experience with this case?

It's newspaper when I try the console to AP.

If your WLC mgt vlan does not enable DHCP, yes you can try to manually configure an IP address like below (IP & Gateway and WLC mgt IP info that you need to change to according to your intellectual property regime). If the keyword CAPWAP does not use LWAPP keyword in the syntax of the command

AIR-LAP1242AG bandwidth issue

Good afternoon

My name is Dave and my company has designated me to solve a problem with the signal from a controller of 5508 WLAN several (maybe 12) AIR-LAP1242AG in a warehouse.

We currently use a unique anntenna of 5 GHz, but are studying other options.

The question we have is the intensity of the signal. We use guns scan to Windows CE and the wireless is weak at best (even if you mount directly under the access point.

Since I'm new on the job, I'm familiar with our topology but will do what I can to solve this problem. The question would be a combination of power, the strength of the antenna and something in the dyacceder the signal to controller?

The ceilings in the rafters of the warehouse are between 25-30 feet. I'll be happy to help anyone who might be able to steer in the right direction.

I have yet to look at the console of the AP, but I wanted to eventually get some ideas.

You will find your problem Sir... If you are infact using the AIR-ANT5135D-e, which is a 802. 11 antenna, your problems is not on the AP to the radio antenna to your.

Note here the specifications say it's an 802. 11 b / g radio in the scanner, which is 2.4 Ghz.

TouchSmart 600: Low battery for the keyboard will not disappear

After upgrade to windows 10 in PC all-in-one TouchSmart 600; whenever the PC wakes up from sleep mode, low battery for the keyboard warning message appears despite the fact that the batteries are new. The message 'form' has no way of closing other that "remind me later".

Impossible to activate the mode of low power on iPad 4

Low Power Mode is only available for the iPhone or iPod may as well. iPad did not have this option, trust me. I use iPad and I don't have this option as well!

BlackBerry smartphones disappear when the icons/folders/data of low power - how to recover?
