Warranty blackBerry Smartphones! RIM repair service?

Hello community,

I have a question about BlackBerry security or technical service. I bought my "BOLD" through eBay and I got a Bill also. As I see it when starting my "BOLD" is that the carrier is O2 Germany.

Now, the bars of money between the keyboard fell of and I want to sent my BB on BOARD for technical service. I Don t know if I still have warranty or not, but it doesn´t question I'd even pay for it if they can repair. I already talk to O2 and they only repair with the original of the invoice I Don t.

So my question is if there is a technical center in Germany where I can send my BB to and they look through it, if they can fix it or not and if it s possible how much it will cost.

I already looked on the web and the forum, but I can´t find a direct contact with the RIM.

Anyone know?

Thank you.

Mike

Sorry, no you have a guarantee of purchase off eBay, unless the seller wants to justify the device.

Buy new and third-party sellers (sellers unauthorized, as private sales on eBay) does not include a manufacturer's warranty, I think understand.

You would be better out of touch with local smartphone repair center in the EU or the Germany, I don't know... a RIM service center it could be, I don't know.

  • Warranty blackBerry Smartphones UK and do repair/replace

I bought my phone last September as released on Amazon UK. It is delivered in the original RIM package, and since then she has developed several problems.

    Problems include:

GPS system is deffective. A lock can sometimes be achieved and sometimes it will not. This includes times when I am stood next to another Blackberry user and it will not achieve a GPS lock when there is any material above the phone (ceiling, car roof, etc). I have asked about this problem on the RIM forums, and they improved GPS results, but it is still largely deffective.

I have noticed a green liquid emerging from the USB connection on the phone, which can cause some staining.

The phone will only 50% of the time receive a call. Quite often the phone will just send me a message to tell me that I have missed a call. The phone will not display that a call is being received. This is not a phone option as the same person can ring me twice in a row and one of the times it will not respond to the call.

The phone will not always respond to a change in internet connection, and will refuse to load pages as it wants a WiFi connection. This occurs about half of the time for all webpages, even if they're non-WiFi pages. This can only be resolved by connecting to another WiFi network. This occurs even with full 3G connectivity.

I'm tired to look for alternatives, and some of these problems seem to be repaired.

Is there a way I can just post to RIM and ask them to fix it in the title of their standard warranty of 12 months?

    Kind regards.

I thought it might be corrosion as well, but that would mean that the device has been previously exposed to a sort of liquid.

To quickly check, take off the case and remove the battery. The battery must have a white label near the connectors. Is it always white, or is it red? There is also an indicator of liquid on the left side of the battery (only visible when the battery is removed). It is white or has she turns red? There is also an indicator more in the camera itself (visible only when the device is engaged). Unfortunately, if one of these indicators have turned pink or red, the phone is is more covered by warranty.

    Good luck!

  • International warranty blackBerry Smartphones

    Hello

I wonder if I bought a blackberry AT & T, with the international guarantee torch

If I had to be in Singapore, my warranty will be valid and where and how we serve our phone

One question, will you use the device with the voice and/or data ATT international roaming service?

If not then, real problem, you will always be an ATT customer.

But if you buy the ATT device, use no ATT servcie and are not an ATT customer and unlock the device for use on another carrier? Of course, it is still guaranteed, but you will have a devil of a time access once you take the unit off to the carrier and retail dealer who sold you the unit.

    Here: http://www.blackberry.com/legal/warranty/handheld.shtml

So, while you are covered, if you have a claim, it won't be easy. You will be in Singapore and to retailers it won't cover a device has they have no sales.

You can contact RIM directly, but it will not be easy.

My advice... buy a refurbished or used at a price less than complete out-ATT contract, get it unlocked and don't worry about the warranty. If something happens to physically of the device (which is not covered by the warranty anyway) so just buy a new one. You would always spend less money, in my opinion.

Otherwise, you can get all the support software and operating system, you need here in these forums.

  • Frozen Blackberry - warranty blackBerry smartphones?

I was wondering if someone could I would like to know how long the Blackberry 9300 3 has as a guarantee?

I have one who is barely 5 weeks old and it froze!  Even after I remove the battery, wait a few minutes and then put the battery back, it is still frozen.  It won't let me even turn it off!

We took it in a Carphone Warehouse store (originally purchased online through Carphone Warehouse), but they tell me that the warranty is only 28 days!  That doesn't seem fair to me.  They were exceptionally useless and said I have to give them the phone for them to send to repair which could take 3-4 weeks during which I have no phone but I still expect to pay for something that I can't use!

Y at - there anyone out there who would be able to offer some kind of useful advice, please!

    Karen.

All keyboard problems, it looks like what I've seen several times on a device with moisture damage.
Even sitting on a countertop bath during a hot steamy shower or bath can cause problems with keyboard and trackball up to this JUST-withered.
Really, it is more common than you think.
1 the battery immediately! Do not turn on your BlackBerry device.
    2. allow the device to dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days * (see below)
    3. DO NOT "check it every day" by placing the battery in. Leave what would to dry completely. It takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can damage only (humidity + power = disaster).
    3. If the unit is hot after the drying period, let it cool to room temperature before placing the battery in the.

    * Suggestions on your BlackBerry in a warm dry place (open, with battery):

    • Place the BB in a container of dry uncooked rice, and then you can also place it in one of the locations mentioned below.
    • On top of all heat dry emitting electronic components: TV or CRT, LCD, TV cable box / Satellite or plasma monitor
    • On the dashboard of your car on a day sunny

  • Problems of browser to blackBerry Smartphones. Missing service book.

    Hello!

I have a blackberry storm 9500 from the Germany. I am located in Yerevan (Armenia). It seems that there are several problems with my smartphone:

    1. when I try to connect to the browser, the following message appears: «your device has no currently all entries in book of Service Configuration Browser.» Please contact your service provider to enable the browser on the device"or next:"It seems that your device does not have an installed service WAP2.0 book."

    2. I can't find the networks without wire in my phone.

    3. I can send info via bluetooth, but it cannot receive (after the coupling with other phones of course).

    4. can I transfer my messages in the "SMS SIM Card Inbox" folder in the folder "Inbox SMS"?

    Thank you in advance!

No problem!  I'm just sorry I can't do more to help!  If you explain in detail the situation of your carrier, I hope they can get you operational.  You may also call Vodafone in Germany to see if they will release your phone IMEI # and PIN # in order to work with your network.  Unfortunately I don't know a lot about this fact (just what I've seen here on the forums), but maybe someone else who has done this before will see this and can help more!

If you do not hear anything someone else on this, try to start a new thread with the following title: "need help with get data service on a Storm 9500 unlocked from a different network."

This should be able to get more attention to others who have experienced similar problems and managed to solve it.

  • Warranty blackBerry Smartphones?

    Hello

    Happy holidays, everyone!

I just had a new Storm 2 and thought to sell on the internet. I'll propose the typical 30 days return policy, but I was wondering if the always 1 year manufacturer's warranty applies to the new owner in the case where the phone below upward after 30 days.

Similarly, if I were to buy a Blackberry through sites like eBay or Amazon, and six months later it stop working, I'll be able to get it replaced through the warranty?

    Thank you

    Shepherd

I don't think so... that your buyer is not to buy the unit from a seller of authorized retailers.

Similarly, if you buy a new device OR used from one seller other than a dealer, you only will have guaranteed either.

Warranty service is provided by your operator. If you buy, say a device 9700 marked Tmobile, off eBay and you have a Tmobile account and use the device on Tmobile, you could get the warranty offered by Tmobile. If they check and see that you do not buy the device... maybe not.

It's a bet that you do buy used or second hand machines and by buying from other independent sellers retail.

  • Data messages blackBerry Smartphones RIM appearing on handheld

I received messages from the network of the RIM on my handheld. They say that the message is used to carry data between your Blackberry handheld and a home server and advise me not to remove, move or respond.

Anyone has an idea as to how I can get these messages do not appear constantly?

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

Reason: You have installed Desktop Manager by using the option 'Enterprise' or "Desktop Redirector".

Step 1: If you do not use redirector or company, you must uninstall Desktop Manager and then reinstall it using the BlackBerry Internet Service option.

Step 2: On your device, go to: Options > Advanced > maintenance book and remove any service books for [office]

  • BlackBerry Smartphones off data services - how will this affect my phone?

I recently bought my first Blackberry ever and I am now impressed and have a few questions through

I've had a look around and managed to find a lot of what I need these forums already, so I am very grateful to everyone who has already answered in other issues, as it helped me.

However, I have a question that remains unanswered.

I bought the phone without a data plan and I have looked around and saw that to navigate through the wifi I have to configure my browser for mode access point.

I can browse the mobile network, but as pay as you go and it's expensive, so I want to prevent that from happening. I've already hired a few fees according to my bill online trying to browse before wifi I found the access point mode.

I found the entry of data services. If I turn this off, my phone will still work as usual? (phone, receive texts and picture messages?) -If it prevents my phone to connect by mistake, it would be exactly what I need! However if it prevents that, I guess it's a useless option!

Cheers in advance for any help.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Google Talk Service not enabled for this handheld on 9700

    Hi all

I downloaded the last Google Talk for the BB AppWorld. When I try to connect, gtalk a message Service not to this compatible handheld. I enabled BIS, internet and wap are disabled by the carrier (O2 CZ - the data on them are paid extra).

I tried to reinstall, get the service books, but nothing works for me.

    Any idea?

    Boris

Well... I found the resoultion on another page... It is in Czech http://www.blackberryweb.cz/?p=444 and follow the steps:

    1. backup your blackberry

    2. download the service book containing the gtalk http://www.blackberryweb.cz/?file_id=5

    3. in Blackberry Desktop Manager restore backup selectively from the file downloaded Service_Books.ipd

4 return to service your provider directories (if some of your e-mail accounts are missing)

    5. possibly restart your Blackberry

As O2 CZ guys told me that they will not support gtalk in the service books, this is only informal way how to get gtalk working with O2 CZ.

  • Applications blackBerry Smartphones without the services of BB activation

Hello.. I opted for an internet access plan frm my ISP (vodafone). However, I hvnt activated yet no BBservices on my BBtorch... I can't use any app on my phone without the activation of these services like push e-mail, social RSS, RSS etc... ???

is there an audio dictionary for BB Phone?

Without BB service there is very little that you can do on the phone outside phone and text.

According to me, there are a few apps that you can install as Facebook for twitter and Browsert of the opera for a web browser that would work, but for the full experience, you need to add the blackberry data plan.

In the United Kingdom at least BB onto the bolt on the same cost to a bolt of normal data in most cases.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones configuration BIS service

    Hello

I received my 8310 for personal work, we use a BES server, is there a way I can reconfigure the 8310 to work with BIS?  At present I can receive emails and SMS messages, but cannot respond to emails or surf the internet.

Any help would be greatly received.

Strictly speaking, a "wipe" does not remove the it policy. The process to do this is to first remove the BB to activate BES and follow this KB to remove the it strategy (method 3 is my favorite method).

If your policy has been removed, then perform the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come):

    (1) registry HRT

    • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table > (it matter little what line is current) > sign up now

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your carrier for formal support because you pay for services they don't deliver.

Then let it, you don't need, and is not "manually erase the memory.

Then, the card media. Where did this come from?

And he was in another device before this BlackBerry?

What I propose is pasted below. You want to follow these instructions to remove and remove all the file bbthumbs.dat map of support as shown below.

Now, that being said, there are different types of media cards, class 2, class 6... etc., that determine the speed of the press card. When a BlackBerry is restarted one of the first things he will do is to check if a memory card is inserted and if it is, it starts to scan the media card to make miniature and to cache thumbnails, video, music, etc. This analysis is sometimes unnoticeable in the background. If you reboot and go immediately to the media card to play a song or display an image, you can see the «media card analysis» reviews So, after a restart, let the device idle sit a minute couple to complete everything.

Read this on how to correct the media card (courtesy of John Clark, a different expertise here in the Forum):

    1. remove the card multimedia unit and put it in a card reader. This makes the rest of the process much faster. However, you can do it with the card in the camera.

2 copy all the contents of the card on your PC.

    3. replace the card in the camera and go to Options > Media Card > Menu button > card. You wipe the card and reformat. (if using a card reader to remove the card and put it back in the drive).

    4. now copy backup ONLY in the media to the device. Don't copy back all the 'BBthumbs.dat' files or all system files. I went through the entire folder and delete all .dat files before copying the content of the music folder and the folders of photos to the device. The device will re-create these files. Also, I is not copy folder "current music" but rather just copied content and pasted into the folder \Blackberry\music of the card. Do this for each folder.

    5. Once finished put the card in the camera, and then try again the media App. He must walk to the music. If you have a lot of music can take 5-10 minutes. When scanning, you can open the music application and you should be able to see the songs move in the list when the device will navigate

If after the transfer of all your files back, you still get a stuck scanning bar or device restarts so you have a file in conflict on the map. I saw video files to do this, but it could be a music file too or (less likely) an image file. Remove all the files you transferred and see if restarting to stop him. Then add each file one at a time to see if you can narrow the file which is the cause. When you have found the folder, and then you can refine to a particular file.

  • Manager of Communications cell phones blackBerry Smartphones RIM has stopped working

    Hello

Today, I found my trackpad on my BB9900 had ceased to work for any scrolling. I could still use it as a button to select something, but not to move. So after the reboot to check that I had installed any new software or applications during the last month or so and even pulling the battery... I know that I know that it still did not work.

I then plugged on my laptop to try reloading software. When I did he wanted to update BB Desktop Manager. So of course I did. (BTW the BB connected at this stage) After the update when you try to connect the BB all I get is this error "RIM Handheld Communications Manager has stopped working". I restarted the laptop and the BB just to be sure, but nothing. Now, I have a BB that doesn't scroll and BBDTM which does not connect. Advice?

Either by the way, I also tried changing trackpad sensitivity and turning on an audible scroll but it did not a difference, nor I heard no sound scroll.
