• Disk with bad sectors - how to get out the data?

  I have a drive that is on its way in my lab at home. He got a few virtual machines on that I'd like back. The SMART State shows a few hundred bad sectors. I use ESXi 5.1 build 799733

  VMS seem to run but when I try to copy them to another disc from the vSphere client, I get a generic error and it hangs on. VMkernel.log displayed I/O failure of questions and 'unexpected sense '.

  I wonder if:

  (1) there is a way to get ESXi try again to copy several times because I think that the copy may succeed after several attempts (given that the VMs system run OK but can not copy them).

  (2) it is possible to run something similar to a chkdsk utility that can be run on the vmfs to see if the file system can recover bad blocks?

  (3), a last resort is it possible to get ESXi to continue with the copy despite IO errors. Maybe then I can run chkdsk inside the BONE and it will heal.

  (4) what are the tools (if any) can I use to clone the drive dying on a well known disc? DD work?

  I agree with the suggestion to try gddrescue.
  The problem THAT VM power off - start a Linux VM from a different data store and get the data store with bad blocks via vmfs-fuse and sshfs.
  Then copy the outside through ddrescue flat.vmdk.

  Sometimes it also helps to manually create a snapshot for the bad VM on another data store. Who sets the origin vmdk in read-only mode.
  Once you have the snapshot you can clone then the empty new snapshot with the basedisk damaged via vmkfstools - i.

• M712 repetitive image problem. Can not find the page for service with the official RULE

  I have to review the manuals online here and I googled for them as well.

  Nobody seems to have an official repetitive image for the M712 default rule page.

  My impressions can repeat the points that occur each 1.75 "or 44 mm.

  Looking at an older manual for a different model of printer, a HP 5100, this repetitive error indicates a Toner Cartridge primary charging roller.

  Since most of these parts are internal to the toner cartridge, I've already replaced a new cartridge of HP brand. No help.

  Most replaced suspect parts with a kit of maint merger, no help.

  I can assume either us:

  -a got a refurb had somehow HP ink cartridge or

  -a got another somehow cartidge PROBLEM or

  -the charge roller is NOT located within this model of printer toner cartridge and my roll charge elsewhere in the printer

  Test for half. Place a sheet of paper in the manual feeder on the right side and perform a self-test. When the rear edge of the paper into the printer, quickly open the toner door to stop printing. Remove the toner cartridge and look at the picture without fuse below. If the fault is present, it is still the toner and nothing else. If the defect is not present, then the question is fuser.   I have my windows installed on a Samsung 840 Series SSD 120 GB and a WD 320 HDD as secondary drive in a basket in the dvd disc space. The two worked very well.

  I got 301 MB of unallocated HARD disk space and the rest as a partition.  I used MiniTool Partition Wizard 9 wish that one partition with all the space unallocated. After the changes have taken effect, it showed the hard drive as a 'bad disk '. I thought that I should restart windows to solve this problem. After that restart the laptop is stuck on the start screen that you can access the BIOS, the caps lock light flashes 5 times several times and then stops. The hard drive seems to be on and I can't access BIOS.

  When I remove the disk hard windows starts very well.

  I solved it myself.

  Set quick start.

  then the drive gives a letter.

  I created a rule to move e-mail to folder based on information.

  I even moved the messages that meet the criteria that I can see that they are moving and are not based on a folder. I point to the folder that I moved.

  I can't be the only user who would like to 'sort' mail in folders.

  I used it in Outlook without problem.

  Now, I wonder if the switch to Win7 and WLM wasn't actually a half a step back.

  Seems to me that get the "functional" rules was a half-hearted attempt.

  I'm sorry that you are having problems with message rules.  I just created and tested one like yours in Windows Live Mail, and it worked as expected.

  Check the description of message rule and ensure that all of the conditions are good.  Try to specify the name of a person, not an e-mail address, for the line where the of contains people .  I recommend always including "Stop treating more rules" in the list of actions.  When you apply the rule, make sure that you selected the correct folder in the menu apply to the folder .

  This could help to display the description of the rule here for others to check.

• useDaylightTime() method detects bad DST

  I need urgent help on zone with BlackBerry API problem.

  The TimeZone.useDaylightTime () detects incorrectly.

  For example, I put system for simulator time zone is UTC-3 Montevideo, Montevideo - Uruguay now, time don't use DST, but code returns true.

  However, the time displayed in the Simulator is still correct, only detection DST returns incorrectly.

  Just tested 4.2.1 using Casablanca and London, Casablanca does not use DST and in London, and the code worked OK.

  Is it possible you are checking if the time zone uses DST and thinking that this means that it is currently in a summer period?

  I have the voice gateway Cisco connected to the PBX through E1 PRI. I want to disable all PBX users make direct calls to _some_ IP phones. I tried to do it with the voice translation rule. Part of my config is shown below. But this configuration does not work. Where a mistake?

• Firewall Windows with advanced security rules do not take effect immediately?

  Hello everyone, I seem to have a problem with the Windows Firewall with advanced security. I put a rule that should prevent some IP address the ability to send packets to any port on my pc, however, it doesn't seem to work, said ip was still able to send packets until I installed the third-party firewall. That's what 'the netsh advfirewall firewall show = rulename rule name' indicates:

  Thanks for the reply, I checked the Windows Firewall service, it is set to automatic, and two long-term services are started (BFE and MPSDRV). It turns out that the PC was connected to the Public network, while the Windows Firewall has been enabled only for the private profile. Activation of the firewall for the public profile, did the trick.

• CBAC with several inspection rules

  My customer places an ASA/Pix IPsec hub and network spoke to a DMVPN network with 2921/881.

  All the security(ACL/CBAC) will be run on the Cisco 2921 Hub site. I have attached a drawing simplified topology of HUB interfaces:

  

  As you can see in the picture there are 5 active interfaces on the Cisco 2921:

  LAN INT

  DMZ INT

  VIRTUAL INT

  INT TUNNEL

  RE INT

  All interfaces have incoming ACL applied to them in the inbound direction. So, I have the following ACL:

  INSIDE_OUT for LAN internal (management traffic from the LAN to DMZ DMVPN, Internet and VPN clients remote)

  DMVPN_INSIDE_OUT for TUNNEL INT (managing the movement of DMVPN LAN and WAN)

  VIRTUAL_INSIDE_OUT for VIRTUAL INT (manage traffic for remote users VPN DMVPN, LAN and WAN)

  DMZ_INSIDE_OUT for DMZ (open for ICMP to internet and a server on the LAN)

  INSIDE_IN for INT WAN (deny all apart form ICMP; ESP, ISAKMP, etc.)

  Currently, I have the 2 following the rules of CBAC:

  Property intellectual CHECK NAME IN_OUT applied on departing on INT WAN

  IP INSPECT NAME applied to inbound on INT WAN OUT_IN_DMZ (to allow traffic initiated Internet DMZ return form)

  But now, I think all the stateful traffic interface, as in an ASA I have to configure a rule to inspect to inbound on each interface or am I completely wrong?

  For example if I want a LAN Server to communicate with a server on the DMZ, I need to inspect the incoming traffic to the right to allow traffic to DMZ from LAN LAN? Which means I need a third inspection rule, no?

  Ideally, you'd inspection on all inbound interfaces.

  However, I think that you try to overcomplicate things, (dare I say).

  Your problem would be solved by adding a dynamic firewall on your design and ending for example remote VPN on it.

  This would substantially reduce the burden of DMVPN routers in the case of PPE or future growth and would you allow to dynamically on a device which was supposed to be with State actually lie real packet filtering.

  I will attach a photo in a moment of what I think off the coast.

  This phenomenon was related to BdfNdisf6.sys Firewall NDIS6 BitDefender filter driver.  I would remove at least to test.

  Also and you need to update to win 8.1 as there are many, many bug fixes, it is more secure, etc.

  This seems to be a mistake because of the name of Member formulated with the concatenation of the current Member of the dimension account with "ARPM.

  Check if the membername formulated in the formula corresponds with the name of the Member present in the outline.

• Can we use Source accounting entity group to load the data from multiple entities with a single rule to load?

  
  Page 79 of erpi_admin_11123200.pdf says that "reporting entity groups are used to extract data from several reporting entities in a single data rule execution.  I use standard EBS adapter to load data in HFM application, I created a group of entity made up of several accounting entities, but I can't find a place in FDMEE where you get to select/use this group... When you define an import format you type the name and select Source (e, g. EBS) system you can select Map Source (for example EBS11 I adapter) or the accounting entity (it is what I select to define data load maps), but not both.  Note that there is no place to select the Group of accounting entity...  Location check menu group entity drop-down but it doe not my group of accounting entity which I believe is anyway something different... and creating a location and pointing to a format compatible with the selected Source adapter is no not good either... I'm confused, so is it possible to load data from several reporting entities in one rule to load or am I misreading the documentation?  Thank you in advance.

  Do not leave the field blank in the Import Format. If leave you empty to the place, when you set the rule to load data (for the location with EBS as a Source system), you will be able to select a single accounting entity or a group of accounting entity.

• p6310t comes with bad HARD drive

  The drive was DOA from HP. I did get a replacement drive rather than return the system. Pretty simple. 1 month later the new drive appears. The player was supposed to be imaged pre. It was not the case. They sent 4 recovery cd the problem is disk 1 of 4 is not bootable. The disk volume name is supportsent44, which is exactly the same as the disc 4 of 4. No much of the disc is classified. A call to HP and they send a new series. Disk 1 of 4 is 4 again. HP called once again, spent an hour trying to explain to an analyst in support in India. Finally, he agrees to send another set of disk. Low and behold the same thing. I don't know what to do at this point. HP does not recognize that they have a bad batch of cdroms of recovery. If that's important here is the disc number and generate the code.
