Web Client - icons missing

!! Help!
When the connection in the Web Client, no icons are displayed.

I don't know how longs its been like that, maybe a day or two

Restart the webclient = no success
VCSA restart and PSC = no success

Tried various browswers, systems and various user accounts = same problem - no. icons

I can see the tasks and the alarms where they occur.

Anyone got any other suggestions that might help.

Web Client - No Icons.JPG

I was able to restore the icons by uninstalling the third-party extensions.
I removed the Update Manager, POS and following customer Web Tintri

I'll do some tests to isolate and may have caused the problem

I also noticed that the Web Client performance is much improved since... Shame, I can't live without plugins

  • NetApp VSC v6.1 UI is missing from the Web Client v6.0u1

I recently updated my vCenter Server 5.5 to v6.0u1 (2k12r2 for Windows with backend SLQ 2012). With that I installed a fresh instance of Virtual Console storage NetApp v6.1. All was working perfectly until I've restarted the vCenter after about 2 weeks of operation of the new version. After you restart the gui NetApp VSC and features were missing completely on the web client. The plugin has always shown as active in the webclient service is, however, no GUI. Strangely when I try to disable the plugin from the web client, it refreshes and remains only set as active.

In heavy client, the icon was always present, however with the new version (6.1), no functionality can be achieved through this and you are just re-directed toward the Web Client of VMware. Backups were still underway at the scheduled time, even if the plugin was not visible in the Web Client.

    I tried the following:

    The re-registration plugin

-Stop webclient VC services, stripping any trace of com.netapp* of the VMware folder of the directory (program files and program data). Mainly located in the folder of vSphere-Client-serenity

    -Departure VC web customer service

    -Re-enrollment VSC with VC

    All the re - install

    -Stop services of VC

-Stripping any trace of com.netapp* of the VMware folder of the directory (program files and program data)

    -Stop services VSC

    -Do a complete uninstall

    -Remove the VSC installation directory

-Reboot server VSC to delete reg keys

-Install the new copy of VSC 6.1

    Re-record with the VC Server

The same question is observed. The plugin shows as being installed. The extension "com.netapp.nvpf.weblient" exists in the breast of the https://< vCenter > / mob. (see attached screenshot). The thick client still shows the plugin as permitted, as the web client. I still cannot see the interface user via the web client despite the plugin is installed and activated.

Tear out my hair with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Guys,

An update on this issue, it could be useful to resolve any other issues similar and research...

After 4months our case eventually made its way to the development of the web client team in VMware. The problem has been identified as a corrupted file in vCenter which is responsible for organizing the status "enabled/disabled' plugins customer web. Difficulty as follows:

    "C:\ProgramData\VMware\vCenterServer\data\vSphere Web Client\SerenityDB\serenity\ALL\client.package.states.

    The solution was: -.

    • Delete the file
    • Open customer vcentre, administration, plugins
    • Disable a random plugin (this forces the State file recreate)
    • Exit vcentre and then reopen
    • Plugins should now be visible
    • Customer goto plugins and re - turn that which has been previously disabled

Good luck guys, it was a serious pain in the ass

  • SRM 5.8 does not display an icon in the Web Client

I have a customer that has improved its server vCenter on the two sites of 5.5U1 to 5.5U2, a condition 5.8 SRM.

After what seems to be a successful installation of the SRM on both sites, I see NOT the RS icon on each site.

Tried to restart the VMware vCenter inventory Service

Services of SRM server and embedded database are running

I checked below and the ExtensionManager value, com.vmware.vcDr is actually present.

    Notes:

1 SRM is installed on the respective vCenter servers using the embedded DB ProstgresSQL

2 vcEnter also uses the embedded DB - there are only 3 hosts per site

    3. the total number of protected virtual machines expected to be 12

Any ideas? I know it's a new product, but we are here.

OK, this has been resolved. Here's the answer:

Customer said to have upgraded the server vCenter Server to 5.5U2, which he did. But...

    1. he could not also upgrade the inventory Service

    2. has failed to upgrade the Web Client

It is interesting that SRM 5.8 installation succeeded only after upgrading vCenter server, but the Installer do NOT also test the compatibility of the inventory also upgraded service.

Note that there is no current documentation reflecting this anywhere I could find. Refers only to the version of vCenter server.

    Done deal.

  • inventory of missing vCenter using the web client?

I just upgraded my environment to 5.1 and for some reason, one of my vCenter servers shows no inventory by using the web client. I double checked the permissions on both sites and have checked the inventory in the vSphere client and everything seems good. I have two related modes and the other shows, everything is fine. I tried repointing and re-application as in accordance with article (KB VMware: repointing and re-application VMware vCenter Server 5.1.x and components) but all exits show as being already recorded. Any ideas?

    Capture.PNG

    Thank you.

This is the expected behavior for the operation of the Service of the inventory.

Searches in the vSphere Client works perfectly?

Take a look at the following kb NOT to DO ALL THE STEPS IN THERE!

    http://KB.VMware.com/kb/2033620

Only follow re-register vCenter Server with the Service of inventory for now, if the search in vSphere Client function does not work correctly.

  • Run a workflow form again vSphere Web client?

It seems not possible to run a workflow of web to vSphere client.  Am I missing something?  We really want to start using the web client vSphere integration but the lack of this feature makes it really difficult.  Are taken in charge of canceling a workflow running and for answering a question, but not to run again.

Yes, "rerun" is not taken in charge, like the other features available in vRO Interface Java client.

These 2 customers are 2 completely different code bases/Technology batteries, and it is difficult to keep in Sync feature-wise. Supporting the use of vRA case is one of the main goals for vRO under vRA become internal consumption of vRO. vSphere client Web integration is not a major use case for HRV and thus maintaining at the same level as the vRO Java client is not on the top of the list of priority tasks.

I have re-registered using the IP address instead of the FULL domain name as well as restarted the VCSA, but nothing has changed.

    Any ideas?

I think that I thought about it.

The latest version does not appear to me in the web client for some reason, but the release before that does not work. (I don't know if this is what vmEck wanted to say in his reply...)

    Try to install version 6.0 U1 (6.0.0 - 3040890).

I completely removed everything (including SQL Express) and worked perfectly. I then tried the upgrade to 1 billion and it is not yet once I chose well to wipe the DB and start from scratch (don't have much in it anyway). I'll try again, but choose to keep the existing data to see if it works.

Whatever I don't know if it's a bug or there is something wrong with my setup, but perhaps someone from VMware can investigate?

  • vRealize Orchestrator - cannot add to vSphere Web Client

    Hello

I configured the device vRealize Orchestrator and added the vCenter Server to the server via the customer to vRO Orchestrator--> library and can successfully run workflows against objects in vCenter. Then vRO works.

    BUT

The problem I have is that I can't seem to add the server vRO to vSphere Web Client. I do not see the plugin if and when I go to the Orchestrator plugin I see the vCenter Server in the "House of vCO' tab but"N/A"under"Managed by vCenter Orchestrator Server"." Under the "Lists" section it says "vCO servers: 0".» What Miss me?

I tried to add the new server to vRO (device) by changing the vCenter object and enter the server IP new vRO. But "Test connection" fails every time.

In addition, vCO has been installed with vCenter initially but never used and not yet used. But I don't think it would make a difference.

I don't see the vCenter plugin tab in the left menu when connecting to vRO with the customer and com.vmware.vco isn't showing in /mob .

    Versions:

    vCenter: 5.5u2

    vRO: 6.0.3.0 build 3000579

    Thank you!

    Hello

I'm a bit confused. It seems you are trying to use the two vCO 5.5.2 and vRO with VC 5.5.2 6.0.3, but plug-ins are different (they have different deployment mechanism, different extensions in MOB, etc.). I recommend you stick to the version of the vCO you got installed with VC - in this case, 5.5.2.

    Then, check the following:

    • Check that the vCO is configured with the SSO authentication, and it is the same instance used by VC/Web Client SSO
    • Check that this instance of vCenter is added as properly to vCO and there is an extension of 5.5.x - style into the CROWD. His name is com.vmware.orchestrator. [some-guid]
    • Check that the extension of the server property contains a record with URL property pointing to the server fine vCO - https:[vco-ip]:8281
    • Make sure that the user you are using to connect to the Web Client has a permission; for example. You should be able to connect to vCO Client Java with this user

If the foregoing is valid, check the Web Client (vsphere_client_virgo.log) log file for any errors of loading of the vCO and connection at the vRO server plugin.

  • "VerifyError: Error #1053: illegal override of CustomProxy...". ', for the plugin in Web Client 6.0

I'm having a problem with a plugin developed for 5.1. Works very well with the two web client 5.1 and 5.5.

I'm trying to deploy the same plug-in in the web client 6.0 and follows with the reference of this binding changes for compatibility:

2 important reminders for your plugin 5.5 is compatible with the Web Client 6.0

-Change Web-ContextPath, vsphere client /-name of the plugin in the MANIFEST. MF

-Configured by default two channels, one amf and secure-amf services - config.xml and remote - config.xml.:

After these changes, I was able to resolve the "cannot load resources... '. "errors. And I am able to see my plugin icon.

I made changes to my own proxy class (CustomProxy) to use ServiceUtil.getDefaultChannelUri (). I added the ServiceUtil code to my plugin rather the upgrade of an SDK 5.1 to SDK 5.5.2.

Now get an error message when you click the icon of the plugin:

"VerifyError: Error #1053: illegal override of CustomProxy...". ». Please find the screenshot of the flash error attached drive.

Could someone guide possible cause and resolution of the issue?

    Thank you.

Now I realize the you will not be able to compile it:

    public void callService(methodName:String,_arguments:Array,_callback:Function_=_null,_callContext:Object_=_null,_ _opId:String_=_null_):void {}

It turns out that BaseProxy backward compatibility is broken If we substitute the callService method . We'll resolve this in the next version of hotfix or update.

I can you advice how to solve this problem for your plugin. And it will work with 6.0. But after that we released the patch, your code will break. The only thing you can do at this stage is to remove from your CustombaseProxy.

    So I recommend the following:

1 extract the logic that you have about the utility class, for example ProxyArgumentsUtil

I don't understand why keep you the reference to m_reqMetaData and not to create a new instance for each request.

If you do this, you can have a simple util class with a single static method in it. If you need this reference, then your utility class should be instantiated.

    2. all the classes that extend CustomBaseProxy should extend directly the BaseProxy

    3. whenever you call callService, use this ProxyArgumentsUtil to manage your "arguments" parameter

    4. remove the CustomBaseProxy

    Apologize for the inconvenience.

  • 6 of vSphere Web Client

I am setting up my first Server 6 vSphere in a laboratory for the study of the certification test.  I have a brand new vSphere 6 Server installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server.  I finally got through some teething problems with IE on my computer so I can connect now, single sign - on without problems.  Now, I can't understand how to create a folder and add a few ESXi servers.  I went through the getting started videos and hosts, and even the documentation online, but couldn't find out how to start.

Apparently, I need to need to have a folder, data center, or a Cluster before I can add a host.  I can't create a data center until I can create a new folder.  I see no area of the user, and when I click on the roles, it tells me that I don't have permission even if I am logged in under the account administrator created during installation.

    What Miss me?

    Wade

have you changed vSphere.local field of SSO to vSphereLab.local? If so, please, sign out of your web client and try to connect using the user name "[email protected]" and the password you gave when installing. That will allow you to see the inventory.

  • Unable to connect to web client vsphere... y at - it something for her?

Good guys, maybe I'm missing something very obvious here but I couldn't find an answer.

I test esxi 5.5, downloaded the latest version and installed in a test machine. Installation went well, I am able to access the page by default on this machine with instructions and guidelines mention that I should really use the web interface instead of the vsphere client. All right! But how? There is no link with it on this page by default. I found the interface should in theory be available to port 9443 or 943, tried both and although I can connect to them using unencrypted http for some single line of text saying SSL must be used, queries https get never be answered. In other words, https://ip_addr:9443 is not responding.

So, what is the appropriate procedure to activate? I'm on a Mac and it is difficult for me to find a Windows installation for time to at least test the regular customer. I tried using Fusion Pro 7.0 via the 'connect to server' option in the menu - does not work.

I'm puzzled. I really feel like I'm deciphering some ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics here. Shouldn't be that bad, right? Looking for your advice.

    >... how exactly the Windows client will activate the web client

This isn't. The Windows Client and Web Client are two different things. The Web Client is only available with vCenter Server (on which the web server is running). The Windows Client as long as the Web Client Access ESXi hosts via the API.

  • Dude where's my 5.8 SRM in vSphere Client? -Its in the Web Client

    Hi guys,.

    VC5.5U2, MRS. 5.8

    vSphere Client 5.5U2 build 1993072

I can't find the SRM in the vSphere Client. Under the Plugins section it says "Site Recovery Manager 5.8.0, no download on the client side is necessary for this plug-in."

It is here under the Web Client.

He's still in the vSphere Client?

BTW I have SRM installed but not configured at this stage.

    See you soon,.

    Hello sjmeyers,

With the SRM 5.8 client version is more in c# vSphere Client. Please connect to the WebClient service and you'll see the RS icon there.

  • vcops presents in vSphere client but not in vSphere Web Client

Question for you.  I just installed vCOPs for demo in our environment, and I'm having a problem seen in the web client.  I am able to see it in real vSphere Client with all registered vcenters, but this isn't the best way to use the tool.  I use Chrome verstion 34.0.1847.116.  I also tried in IE.

By using the web client of vSphere vCOPS isn't built the way but he is in the thick client.  In the client heavy, you have a plug-in, that you click and it basically gives you the web console window in a tab.  There is nothing like this for the Web Client.  If you click on an object, you can see the health of this object and so forth.  If you want to watch as you see in the thick client but you will need to connect to the user interface for vCOPS self https://vcops-ip/vcops-vspheremeaning.  Or if you look on the homepage of the web client, you can see under surveillance, you see the vCOPS icon and which will bring you to the login page.

  • "Convert a model" in the web client

In vSphere client one of the default options for a VMguest is to "convert a model."

I use it a lot, I have a couple of models, after a few weeks/months I convert a VM + updated everything what is necessary + convert model.

The conversions back are almost instantaneous.

With the web client, I can convert an existing model to become a virtual machine, but I can't find the option "convert to a model.

This means that if I want to update a model, I find myself with a long process of "clone model" and plus my original CD VM is left behind, requires me to remove it to clean the models folder.

If this option is not added, or have I missed something obvious?

If indeed, it is not available, does anyone know why it's been left in the first place?

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark

The option convert to model in the vCenter Web Client should be available in the "All actions of vCenter" section as shown in the attached picture. (This is the Web Client 5.1).
