Satellite M500 - closing LID off the external display
I just bought a new M500 today. I use a TV 46 '' as external display. When I close the lid of the external screen turns off and the laptop into hibernation.
How can I stop this I use the external screen 95% of the time?
Thanks in advance.
Hello
It's just an option, you have to change the Windows power management. Go to power options, and then select the power profile you use. Change the map and scroll until the power buttons and lid-online lid close action. Change this option to do nothing. With apply then OK you save this settings.
Now you can try it again. I must say for me that it worked because I also work with the external monitor. :)
Welcome them

Satellite P750 - unable to connect an external display via the VGA port
Hi all
My problem is the following:
I tried to connect my P750 (running on W7 x-64) an external display using the VGA cable port. Unfortunately, these devices recognize my phone. Laptop does not recognize the external display, you can see in the graphics settings as additional display, but the screen shows "no signal".
The computer always identifies the screen correctly, so it seems that there is communication from the screen to the PC, but not the reverse.
This has been verified with 3 separate screens and television - still the same. All the screens work properly with the other PC.
I already have:
-try to play with FN + F5 / "windows" + buttons P - no change
-install the latest drivers BIOS and video site Web from Toshiba - no changeSuggestions how to operate? Is it possible that the VGA port is faulty?
Thank you in advance.
Hello
You have the same problems with a HDMI output port?
Usually, you don't need to change anything to get the external monitor works.
Press Fn + F5 several times until the monitor RGB (VGA) was selected
Since you can choose an HDMI output too, you should pay attention to this option.Have you tried to change the resolution before using the Fn + F5?
It s worth a tryLast but not least, you could set the default BIOS (press F9 BIOS and save the changes by pressing F10). But I don't very well if the BIOS contains some parameters of port RGB (VGA) m

Portege Z30 - A - 18 M - cannot set the native resolution on the external display
Hello
I tried to connect two different displays full HD to my Portege Z30 - A - 18 M and I was unable to set the native resolution - maximum resolution I can put for those is 1680 x 1050... I was not so surprised by the first that I had a few problems with a native resolution when I connect to the laptop computer Satellite I had before. But then the same thing happened when I tried the other view.
I thought that this notebook can handle a higher resolution external... Is there a way to force the native resolution of the external display in Windows 7?
Thank you!Just a question: have you plugged your Portege with HDMI cable and use only the HDMI option?
With other words went from the desktop to the external display only computer?I don't have this machine, but I think you should be able to see the desktop on an external device to the HD full 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Tecra S2 cannot switch to the external display
With my Tecra S2 and when it is docked in the Port Replicator APR - III, I used to be able to connect my external (via DVI) display so that it was to automatically screen output to we by default, not only to the windows startup screen (Yes, I noticed the topic on the forum at the start of windows) but also when display login screen and beyond.
Only problem now is that there is no more than anything, she now only sends the output to the external display when starting and then switches back to the computer screen displaying the screen Windows login and when you are connected to Windows.
Also after commissioning and connection, FN + F5 does not at all, even when you switch to DVI, display does not illuminate.I feel that either the nVidia properties settings (double screen, unique, etc.) or the Mobile Extension Manager have something to do with it.
Anyone who knows the answer / solution to this problem?
Experts on the Mobile Extension Manager or several monitor in nVidia settings with of Toshiba Tecra?Thank you

Hello
Well, as I know it is not possible to set the external monitor as a default monitor.
I use a Satellite phone and sometimes I plug it into the external monitor and use the extended desktop option.
During notebook startup procedure the windows boot image will appear on the second screen, but the user name and the operating system appears on the screen of the laptop.
I think you can use the external monitor but you can't set it as a default monitor and you can use it if the operating system has been released. -
Here is the chronology of the events:
(1) FF start on my MBP (OS 10.8.2) and the retina display working properly.
(2) connect my MBP to a 24 "external display which has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 (defined as primary) max. FF displays well on screen.
(3) disconnect the external display and FF is now pixel on retina MBP. Updating of system preferences Dispay doesn't seem to help, or I have not found the magic technique.
(4) restart FF and everything is fine.
The question seems so FF not to recognize the need to revisit the resolution of the retina.
You are welcome

Portege R700 with docking station may not automatically switch to the external display
Hello!
In the past, we bought a lot of A600, R500, S10, and always a docking station for every laptop here at Desjardins, we bought.
Now we have a little problem with the new R700 model: PT318C - 00G 001,
We bought 30 of them.WHY when we put in the tie-down (with the nearby screen) it can display automatically to the external display no/switch? (in this case a 22inc LCD)
It is connect with the HDMI/DVI cable. And when we get the display by sliding in the graph of intel and media panel (V 6.14.10.5258), after a reboot of the docking, the screen is all buzzy... sometimes both screen are dark, and we must use a combination of keys to move.
It's really not easy to use for our users...With the old model as the A600 or S10, all have always worked well, if we are on the dock, the pop screen directly on the external LCD, so I stopped him, ondock it and start up of all is well on the screen of the laptop.
We are on Windows XP Pro SP3.
I tried the utility Toshiba display device change and expansion Mobile from Toshiba. are not clear...
Thanks for your help.
Have you installed a version of vanilla from Windows? Or XP has been installed from the Toshiba Recovery Disc?
Maybe you are missing several key structural factors (common modules for example). Also make sure that you use the drivers to display on the Toshiba site. Also try a BIOS update (v1.70 is the last one I think).

Does not work on Tecra A2 - FN or key how to switch to the external display?
Hello
Tomorrow (Saturday 6) I have to show a little presentation my Tecra A2 on an external display or projector.
After that I have to install my laptop for the second time last month, the Fn or function keys do not work.
With this problem I don't know how to work with the external display. Please can you advice?
Sorry for my English at low altitude.Buist huh
The Netherlands@J.Verberk
Sounds you're a newbie and you're talking nonsence
You comment is simply not qualified.@Hein
You said that you have installed you mobile again. Did you use the Tosh recovery CD?
If this isn't the case, I think this might be a reason for the FN key anomaly.
After recovery use the laptop must switch with FN + F5 external peripheral connected to the laptop.
If you use try beamer to turn the trap settings. -
HP Split: Port HP Split HTMI spoiled, any other way to connect to the external display
HTMI HP Split connector seems weak and unable to detect the external display. Troubleshooted HTMI and HTMI port to the monitor cable to be ok. May need another way to connect to the screen, otherwise repair port (don't know not so easy to fix). Enjoy the century lights.
2 way possible. There is such a thing as a usb adapter to HDMI.
USB 3.0 models provide a very good experience. Also if your laptop has the right hardware (Intel processor and wifi card, usually) you can use WiDi (Wireless Display), but unless you connect to a Smart TV with built-in WiDi you need a WiDi adapter.

Hello
Please let me know if this is possible. Seems to me like a current need, but I can't find a way to achieve this.
I wish that the laptop to sleep when I close the lid (battery / plugged - matter), except when I have a connected external display.
The script is very simple, I prefer to work with an external display, so I don't want or need the lid is open. When I'm on the road, the "sleep when the lid is closed" is a desired behavior.
Is this possible?
Thank you
Roee.
(1) this function is available in the Apple OS, but not in OS Win.
(2) but, you can set a custom power plan to do this, so when you connect an external monitor just switch the power around plan. It is the easiest way to get what you want.

Satellite P300 - randomly turns off the power when connected to the external monitor
Hello
I have a Satellite P300, Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53 GHz, 4 GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 512 MB, running Windows 7 ultimate x 64.
Recently, I bought an AOC v22 led screen and connect my conputer via HDMI. Everything works fine, but sometimes my computer off just randomly. I might have something to do with my computer overheating, so I clean the fan, but this was not good.
I think it has something to do with the LED screen because my computer was never off his own.
Hello
So this also happens if you n t connect laptop to external display? So, you can determine what is causing this problem.
If the computer laptop doesn t turn off without external monitor, you should try to update the BIOS and the display driver. Two updates that you can find on the Toshiba site:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download driversYou close the lid if you have connected the external monitor?
What operating system do you use?In addition, it would be interesting to know how you clean the laptop. That's why I use the jet of compressed air that can blow the dust from the cooling fans and you don't have to disassemble the laptop.
Good bye
