  Hi, I'm in InDesign CS4 on a PC running XP.

  I was wondering if it is safe to use text effects in InDesign the drop shadow, outer glow. I think someone told me earlier that they are best used in Photoshop especially if you want to print. I just wanted to check that I will be having something printed with the help of ID...

  I've never had a problem with shadow or a glow on text in ID when you go to print, but I let my live transparency and let the printer handle flattening RIP. You can have problems with a printer that has old equipment and insists on having a flattened PDF, but if it happens press (rather than the digital output) even what is unlikely, although I tend to stay away from the effects of ads where I'm not supported the selection of the printer.

  The only way that you would avoid flattening of the questions by the effects in Photshop would be to flatten the image in Photoshop and placing this, but this will rasterize text unnecessarily and will probably lower quality type in the final output.

  Original title: XP USB device timeout - is there a solution?

  Under all the circumstces I get: "Windows - Device Timeout" The specified IO on Device\Harddisk2\DR4 did not complete before the time-out expired period.  The drive is a Sony external 150 GB USB2.  The only way to remedy this is turned off and let windows re - recognize.  It stops usually after 18minutes regardless of activity. I did all the USB install no etc no difference.  Please advise as soon as POSSIBLE!  Please not flaky ideas or suggestions.  P.S > I looked the FIX for USB, but it is not specific to my question - if I ask this question instead.

• What does "wireless authentication failed because of a time-out" mean?

  Have a combo unit router and modem.  Having two computers.  You can use the wireless that the other cannot use Wired.  Getting messages like "wireless authentication failed because of a time-out," conflict of IP address and canceled due to the delay.  There was a variety of messages.  We had been able to use a router before, but it would be turned off every two hours or more.  Giving the same messages on Windows Vista.  The other computer is Windows XP Motorola
  modem/router.

  I'm delving into administrator's guide and I can't seem to find anything on wait times, other than sticky expirations.

  Basically, what I'm looking for something that will tell me what is the setting of time-out 'session' is... It is a global setting, it is configured per farm, etc...?

  Without seeing a real failure in a network capture, it is difficult to speculate on the cause.  The ACE doesn't care about the size of a file through it.  If your VIP is only Layer 4 (VIP and port), and then the ACE sees as nothing more than a TCP session and look higher up in the stack.  If the class is Layer 7 (parsing HTTP header), then it only looks like the header.

  The best place to get a capture is the port of tengig ACE, especially if the client computers are locked.  The capture of tengig will give on both sides of the connection.  Forward and after you will showtechs / TAC to see if the error counters are incrementing during a failure.

  You can also use the capture utility of integrated package of the ACE if all else fails.  First, I use a SPAN.  After all, the ACE could be the culprit here, and using the built-in utility is a bit like asking a suspect of a crime for the facts of the case.  ;- )

  Another tool to use is the 'see the conn?' and 'display the details of the conn' orders immediately after launching a test connection.  This will give you an idea about the State of the connection, and to what extent this time he got.

• Increase the time-out value of external WF stubs in vRA 6.2 device?

  The stubs of external workflow (BuildingMachine, MachineProvisioned, etc.) are defined to use a time-out of 30 minutes by default. • TAF and time-outs TCP - AMT Config - VIP

  I'm reviewing a configuration of 11 g Dataguard (1 primary-> 1 physical standby) 2. I was just curious, given the underside of tns, wouldn't the customer receive/wait for a TCP time-out after 3 minutes if the main server was actually full down.
  
  Here if the scenario, I do a permutation of primary eve-> all the links already connected are passed to the first new using TAF.
  Now, all those already connected before the swtichover are ok, but the news of the day before (primary source) is now completely down, I have to change the entry of TNS for use instead of the VIP for new connections not TCP timeout?

  b) On another node in primary subnet - bind/start the Failed database node IP. This can be done via 
  a script.
  Make sure to shut this down, when bringing up the failed primary node. (This is kind of a manual 
  VIP failover)

• CSS navigation with an outer glow to the overview

  Is it possible to have a "glow" on words in pointing a css navigation State? I do it with the flight path images but I would do it in css so that if we want to change the color scheme in the future I have to change the CSS, not 50 pages.

  It is a strange in css. I know not all attribute 'intensity', which could be added, you can add multiple shadows to increase the 'intensity '.

  You do it by adding another set of numbers in a list of coma separated for the text-shadow element. You can also change the blur of a couple of them to get a brighter glow closer text. Something like this should be closer to what you want, you can play with adding more and change the blur settings to do as you like it, or at least nearby...

  text-shadow: 0 0 10px #ffffff, 0 0 10px #ffffff, 0 0 10px #ffffff, 0 #ffffff, 0 5px 0 10px 0 #ffffff, 0 5px 0 #ffffff, 0 0 3px #ffffff;

• Outer glow problem

  When I create an outer glow on a form I get a glow unwanted in other areas. Any suggestions?

  

  Perhaps mayb not there seems to be a bug of somekind look to these in particular att ssettings for 30 blur athen look at others, note that at 30 he appears and 32 or 29, he went and it does not matter how much extra space added give him 30 will produce the artifact.

• Effect of outer glow on with solid color text?

  Hi, I'm using an Illustrator CS5. I'm doing an outer glow on a text effect, but I want it to be with a solid white color (not passed). Even if I set the opacity to 100%, it still comes out faded. Is there a way to fix this?

  1. Select with text tooel the stroke and fill none value
  2. Select the type with the arrow tool, select this type instead of character.
  3. Add your fill and return strokes (they are now at the level of postscript type)
  4. On the surface, drag the embankment above the line.

• How to adjust the time-out setting?

  I'm in a certain OBIEE in Firefox which, by nature, do not take a long time to run. One of my local Technical Support people suggested increase Firefox's timeout setting (he showed me how to do this once, but I didn't write it). Can you provide instructions written (or annotated images of the screen), please?

  Alright. There are two ways to do this. You can extend your timeout, or you can completely disable timeout. Depending on how you are using firefox, can be useful. If you want to extend your time-out, type about: config in your search bar on the top. From there, need you a list of preferences. There is a search bar. Type "Timeout" in there. The top two are disable the time-out and the 'County timeout'. If you want to disable the timeout, simply double-click the "enabletimeout" on the top. This will change the false value. If you want to change the value of how long it takes to timeout, double-click on the "CountTimeout" and type in your new value. If this is not sensible, see screenshots.
