Why the Windows updates on new install Win7 Pro broken?

Steps to reproduce:

1. download Windows 7 Professional. ISO from the Microsoft link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows7

(I also tried with the DVD of Windows 7 Pro that we bought in 2014)

2 install Windows 7

3. If you need to install the drivers (for access to the network) then so if open Windows Update

4. check the updates-> > it never changed "check updates".

I tried the installation:

VMware ESXi 5.5 (3 x systems VMware)

Ovirt KVM

I left the system in the "check updates" screen for 6 days, but no change.

Looks like the update of windows does not support regardless of the version of windows update is built into the DVD.

Windows Update has been hit for several months.

Here is a discussion about the Windows Update which proved effective and does not require the use of IE:

  • I don't have the language packs in my optional updates from the Windows Update - how to install a language pack?

My hard drive crashed.  It was replaced and the outside company installed the OS for me.  However, I'm in a French country and they had no English operating system share so installed the french operating system without telling me.   I left it as it is that I had to install my other apps in a hurry.  Now, I want to change the language of the OS in English without having to reinstall the operating system.  The MS help Web site gives this page with instructions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/install-languages-with-windows-update, but I don't get the language packs when I click on "View available updates".  How can I install the English language pack if she does not?

[1] relative to the first, third and fourth link: already done - the regional formats and input languages to the keyboard/are not the problem

[2] re second link: that's where I started.  If you follow the links on this page, you get finally to the page I linked in my original post, above.  It says select a languge in the update of Windows

If the language you want does NOT have a downloadlink on http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/languages, what you did (for example, adding input interface & English language keyboard) is ALL you can do with a Vista Home Premium French-language version.

If you want any display in English, you need to install the English Language Pack , which, as you know, is only available for Vista Ultimate computers.

Yes, it's unnecessarily confusing and convoluted but WYSIWYG, I'm afraid. You have that would be to buy an Anytime Upgrade from Vista Ultimate, (b) a Win7 Home Premium update (and then an Anytime Upgrade to Win7 Ultimate) or (c) a full-detail of a language version English version of any version of Win7... which will be probably much more expensive than buying a brand new computer with a version of English language of Win7 preinstalled (and good luck finding that in a French speaking country).

Wish I had better news for you.

If your PC behaves properly, you can remove the hidden Windows hotfix backup files that start with $NTUninstallKB to the WINDOWS folder. There are two ways to do:

    A. manually, but copy files on a CD/DVD first to enable their restoration has a fix must be removed thereafter. Now delete the folder \WINDOWS, but leaves the orphan entries to add / remove programs intact. Remove only the $NTUninstallKB files that relate to corrections, not those for applications such as Word, WMP, etc.. In addition, DO NOT DELETE THE folder$ $hf_mig.

    B. my preference goes to run a script that also removes the corresponding entries in Add / Remove programs. Once they are deleted by the script, they cannot be restored. Download, extract and run this little scripthttp://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_hotfix_backup.htm creating a system restore point first just in case something goes wrong when the update of the register.

  • Did not receive the security updates June 2016 for Win7 Pro.

Two of my three PC Win7 Pro received June downloads security on 15 June.  My third pc from today (July 1) did not get these downloads. The last time it was in May.

I told Win. updated LOOK for downloads but it sets just there saying looking for UPDATES.  I waited an hour long, but nothing happens after that research, keep just on & on.

Please note... I have no problem to download other applications.

I wrote the numbers of June security update KB of my other PC.  Where can I download them manually?

Try the following: manually install the client June 2016 update rollup package, including a new version of windows. Earlier versions may not manage patch day KB3161664 June. This would be a solution for now to install it manually, but with a high probability of the issue of his return on the day July patch.

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/3161608

Before you install the updates manually, the value of the automatic updates to 'never check updates' and restart to avoid any research activity to interfere in the background.

  • Remove the auto to replace new installed XP Pro search function, whenever I try to open transferred files/documents

Hello all him world-same advisors windows on this forum:

I thought I had posted this slight question here, but maybe on other forums of Web site...  I could not find in this forum, throughout 50 not possible pages to be sorter for the dates of entry anywhere to locate mines. So, I am apologically, submit again (if I already posted here).

I prefer my implementation of behaviors on my programmed replacement XP computer to be what I'm used to.  My old computer was XP system (do not know if a Home or Pro).  Whenever I have clicked/open a saved folder and/or its documents/pictures, etc., he immediately opened everything I wanted.  Very simple and the most privileged.

This computer has been changed by a virus (HDisc has been cleaned) and breath of capacitors (?).  I replaced this computer with a similar XP programmed order.  This computor (Lenovo) is installed with OEM XP Pro (Service Pack 3 2002).  My cleaned documents and records were transferred to this computer.  They are also on my external hard drive. All resettled programs worked / I was able to run everything as I preferred, and I know my game previous changes.

The new computor will now automatically in the search window (I got rid of this infernal animated dog) whenever I click/point on a folder and or any document in this folder.  I now do a right click to open the menu, scan down to go to search, explore, open and click on open every time I want my stuff with immediate access. I went and variously adjusted/delete/restore items separated and grouped in file search options. No effect I wanted, then it's back to the restored original basis.

Does anyone have a simple solution for a keen memory private user of documents and folders to open the first time I point to them, without having to the Group of experts through 2-3 additional steps to counter some automatic placement in a research program?

Thanks for the reply.  Method 1 as fact: click Start, control panel (click appearance and themes is not in this Panel) then you click on options files, display tabs, then erased automatically search box of files network, apply, and then click OK.  No effect.  When I click on registered (non-shared, never networked shared, in a single computer only) folder, the search engine appears and indicates to click on in the box on the left to share.  It brings up a list.

I want my file to open it in mode icon in place, what it does when I go its just clicked menu to open.

Method 2: start, press go to run, should have read clicked ok, locate items in step 2 (through the menu items open progressive as indicated), when in the value DWord, when started banging NoNetCrawling he immediately travelled to this window and in box will the number 1, which was already. This spruced up, press OK and the closed registry editor and start box.     Once again, no change in behavior.  Go back to defaul restoration, since it is the basis for me to start without jump my computer up to my forgotten violin.

Thanks a lot again.  However, responses to my question don't involve any networking computors, shared, wifi /, household D link wireless routers, office or home setting or use dial-up.  It is a computor that whenever I point to a folder, the search procedure starts automatically.  I want this behavior stopped and I want the computer to open the folder and the files it contains right now I click on it (I use the simple click).  Click and open.  Don't click, search, open.

How can I find my question?   I went to the discussion for XP, all questions and did not find it anywhere among the 50 items recently answered to.  Only it obtained pressing the issue on my e-mail address containing your answer.

  • My windows update will not install the new version of windows update, I get the error code 80070020 on a 64-bit vista SP2

My windows update to install a new version of windows update says it acts like it will download and install it then gives me the error code 80070020 and says that my computer is unable to download or install new updates or new version of the windows update. I have a 64-bit windows vista SP2 and my avira antivirus program that has a real-time protection. I tried to do a clean boot upward and tried every possible tip I found on the Microsoft and through suggested methods help panel, I found. My computer has Avira Antivirus that has real time protection I deleted and tried without that somewhere because he said it could be antivirus programs that include real-time protection. Does anyone have advice good?

    Hello

    1. What are the troubleshooting steps correct you did to fix the problem?

2 did you a recent software or changes to the material on the computer?

I would say allowing you to run the FIXIT from the link provided and check if it helps.

You receive error 0 x 80070020 when you use the Windows Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web site to install the updates

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/883825

You can also try the manual steps and check.

If you follow the manual steps to start the computer in a clean boot state, remember to start the computer in normal mode after you have completed troubleshooting.

Note: when you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 7, mentioned in the article to start the computer to a normal startup.

Note: It is possible that some data could be removed if infections are detected.

Hope this helps and keep us posted.

  • Why the automatic updates to install the Service Pack 4 (KB2463332) on my computer? I have windows XP

I have Windows XP Professional version 2002 service pack 3, this computer is on a network, but it is NOT the server. This update hase until now tried to install 24 times, and continues on a daily basis through automatic updates. Initially, I tried several things to actually force the installation until I found a link here, who said that he was only for servers. So, I need two things... If I do not need this update and how to stop it coming as an update critical for my computer? or if it's my computer, how can I install?

Thank you for your time, Jenny

KB2463332 is an option, not the security update. Do not hesitate to 'hide '.

    ====================

    1. stop the automatic updates service:

    Start > run > services.msc (enter) > [OK]
Double-click Automatic Updates > click Stop
(Stopping the service will take a moment)

2 remove the contents of the download folder:

    Start > run > %windir%\SoftwareDistribution (enter) > [OK]
Open the download folder and delete its contents
    Close the window.

    3. go to the Windows Update Web site. Select CUSTOM and allow the analysis to be performed. Uncheck the box/deselect KB2463332 (look in the SOFTWARE OPTIONAL category on the left side) and hide ("don't show me this update").

    4. start the automatic updates service:

    Start > run > services.msc (enter) > [OK]
Double-click Automatic Updates > click Start
(Starting the service will take a moment)

  • New installation of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit does not install the Windows updates

I tried it twice.  I install Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit on a ThinkPad T61.  After installation and activation successful Windows, I tried Windows updates.  The 'check updates' never ends.  After the first installation of Windows, I tried all sorts of bugs found either here or other Windows Help Web sites, does not.  So I reinstalled Windows, but with the same result.

After that the first installation was impossible to install updates, I received the Windows Update stand-alone Installer and downloaded the stand-alone files for updates.  Would install things like IE updates, but no security update would install, as well as most other updates.  Yet once, just standalone Setup would continue to search for already installed updates without ever ending.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

Thanks for the comments.  It's good to hear that you have actually solved the problem.
