Mail does not accept account hotmail password and now I can't reinstall the Hotmail account
I "upgraded" to El Capitan recently and for the last week, had problems with Mail does not recognise my password of the Hotmail account. I thought it would be a good idea to delete the account and try to reinstall the account, but of course he still doesn't accept the password, so now that I'm completely stuck, and other proposals of support do not work when the account is not to start there. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I have several accounts email for different purposes and it is more convenient to access throughout the Mail
I solved this problem by logging into hotmail using a web browser, then click on: EMAIL, ACCOUNTS, then POP and IMAP and POP options changed, Yes. Try experimenting with this option online.
Good luck

Why do I have an account Hotmail and Windows Live Mail? What is the difference?
Some time ago I had a problem getting into my Hotmail account when a transaction has been by Microsoft. It did not recognize my passwords and told me I tried too many times to do so I plugged the support staff who said that I only had not provided them with enough information to reopen my account and they told me to open a new. I did it. Then I found a Windows Live Mail account on my computer that had my old Hotmail top messages. I didn't open this account and it don't did me not a password, when I saw the icon and clicked it open. Now, I had this account which was again Hotmail messages sent to my old account but name to send e-mail messages, I got to use my new account. I was confused, but agree with that. Now, however, the Windows Live Mail is asking for a password and I have the same problem I had before.

Search in the start menu displays old emails from my Hotmail account. I find it tiresome and very secure as anyone who uses my computer can read my emails. I guess my computer is somehow related to my Windows Live account. I did a search for these emails in my Hotmail account and they don't even exist.
How can I go to stop this? I tried to look in the Windows Live options but couldn't find anything. Thank you
These files are probably within your e-mail program on your computer (for example, Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird or another program).
You can turn off the messages to appear in the search results, but anyone could still just open your e-mail program and snooping. The only way to be really sure is to use a password on your computer and let other people use a guest account (or make their own account). -
Account compromised Hotmail - password reset does not work!
A few days ago my account Hotmail "sent" emails to all my contacts, even if the emails are not in my sent items folder. To prevent this from happening again, I installed antivirus software and also deleted all my contacts from Hotmail. I could access the account for a day or two, but now, without warning, I can not access my TI at all. When I try to log on I get a screen "your account has been blocked. I have a second email address, to which I ask a verification code sent to unlock my Hotmail. When I enter the code, I get a screen "Reset your password". I have reset a strong password and save, then resubmit my secondary e-mail address, then continue. I wonder for a phone number as another option of password recovery, but I ignore this screen and click on continue. I get then tell screen ' authorized error 401 - no server: access denied due to credentials not valid. You are not authorized to view this directory or page using the credentials you provided "."
Makes no sense to me!
I installed Avast antivirus and Microsoft Security Essentials but neither picked up a virus on my system.
Help, please! I really need to access my account!
Hello
First of all you must have a significant anti-virus program on the computer at one time much
less running. Even if disabled they will always load parts of themselves into a memory that
can cause strange issues while actually reduce safety. Even the remains of a
uninstalled antivirus may cause problems.Uninstall Avast or MSE (both are excellent)
Avast uninstall tool http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-uninstall-utility.html

More information:
If someone is Spoofing emails that appear to come from you then they probably never
had access to your e-mail account. Instead, they have either a copy of your contacts

This name doesn't have an e-mail account on the mail system used in parody.
As SpiritX - AT - realmail.com may be a valid account, however, parody used
SpiritX - AT - wrongmail.com. The latter could still be considered an email address valid

Proceed to a very thorough check for malware and then change your password by e-mail.
The reason why you want to do this is to make sure no more hacking your computer is
still in effect (if it has been hacked). You have changed the password once but I would
Change it again after these checks. It is possible for a person to send the email that 'seems' to be of your

Not really, no. It could be an accident too - someone ' one with a user name very similar to yours that's typo in their username, may not know why they are unable to open a session, requested a password reset, thinking they forgot what it.

Windows Live Mail lists two identical hotmail accounts on the left.
I lost my hard drive. In reloading, I found myself with two accounts of Hotmail on the left side, but all messages in their Inbox are the same. Then right-click and select Remove, he warns that it will delete the hotmail account. I want only to delete the second screen of the same account. How to remove duplicates?
Depends on what version of the year of your WLM 2009 or 2011.
They have different received to get accounts from email.
Basically, tools > Options > account > see if you have 2 accounts Hotmail listed > If Yes, select one > click on delete.
