  Would like to know the issue you are experiencing. I can help you to solve it without the restore options. However, if you still want to do a factory restore you will find these useful steps.

  It seems that you are not able to boot into the operating system. In this case, you can try to crash your system 3 to 4 times to access the Advanced Recovery Options. For crashing Windows 8 system, you can turn off the system while it is trying to load the Windows operating system (i.e. Dell logo during the indirect approach of the points appear) by pressing and holding the power button down until the computer powers.

  However, if you are able to boot into the operating system, you can follow the steps below to return the laptop to factory settings i.e. on day one when you bought the laptop using Dell backup and restore.

  Note: This step leads to complete data loss if you select the option to delete files in step 10

  Dell Backup and Recovery can recover the operating system or the backup of the recovery partition. To recover the operating system from the recovery partition, follow these steps:

  1. Plug the power adapter.
  2. Turn on the laptop.
  3. Click on the button power on the low side to the right of the screen.
  4. Press in and hold the SHIFT key on the keyboard and then click restart in the options provided.
  5. Click troubleshoot from the options on the screen after a reboot.

     

  6. Click the Dell backup and restore .

     

  7. The system restarts and returns to the top, click Next in the screen Dell backup and recovery.

     

  8. The system would be checked to see if the chip repair option can solve the problem, click Next once this is done.

     

  9. We will ask to select the backup to use, click the picture factory option or select one of the backups. Click Next.

     

  10. You will be asked to save your files, if required to do so by selecting the option Yes, save my personal files (Make sure to have a backup external hard drive very practice.) or select No, erase my files.

      

  11. The system goes ahead and ends at the restoration of the operating system. Click restart when you are prompted.

      

  12. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the system with windows.

  If the options above, done does not work, you may need to install the windows 8 manually using the recovery discs using an external USB optical drive.

  Please let us know the exact error code that arises during the diagnosis.

  If the code was 0142 or 0146 or DST smart test failed, then the HD is faulty and should be replaced.

  Before going any further - run a diagnostic extended hard disk (f12 at startup to join Dell diagnostics).  A failed hard drive is quite possible.

  If the drive passes the scope - and not only the flesh to live - diagnostic, which shows of BONE on the product key label (in the battery compartment)?  It may be the system comes with 7, but has been improved to 8.

  At this point, you can take advantage of the upgrade of WIndows 10 - it's free and you can get the Microsoft installation media.  Just check the label of the product key so that you get the right version (it is unlikely that this system is delivered with 7 Pro - House is on the label, you should just Windows 10 (not Pro).)  Your product key will work to install Windows 10 on the system.

  All this is based on a faulty hard drive.

  If the system shuts down during the diagnostic tests, you can have an overheating problem (is the system running hot?-if so, remove the heat sink assemblies dust).  If it is not hot but switched off, you probably have a bad mother.

  So about three months ago I had a problem with my HP mouse and browser. both were glitching on screen and does not allow me to type consistently or right-click (to copy, paste, etc.). So I contacted Microsoft to reinstall my Microsoft Office. After I have reset a computer and everything was in order, I hung up with them. By attempting to play a video a few moments later, I noticed that my volume is not working. I tried through the Troubleshooting Device Manager (replied 'No audio device found'), by lifting missing audio drivers via the HP Web site (found nothing) and call Microsoft to see what they could do since HP reps no help. So far, no progress is possible except that Microsoft has discovered that he is no longer an audio in/out located on my device. This is absurd! My laptop was purchased 2 years ago for around $500 with award-winning special Beats Audio Sound System. I want to come back. I was forced to resolve the previous question myself and I wa slucky enough to find a way. But now, I am presented with an audio problem I'm afraid that I can't solve in my favor.

  I read your post about the need to do a factory reset and wanted to help.

  What will work restores your computer to its original factory state using HP recovery media. It is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

  My hdmi suddenly stopped working, tried things usual fn + f5 / f8, win + p key, enable / disable lower resolution etc. so decided to factory reset but still pc hdmi does not graphics card.

  tried it on my panasonic usual tv nothing works, tested on samsung tv without result, the pc detects the tv and even sets the audio to my TV but no sound from the tv. tried unplugging tv cable and pc stop feeding and took out the battery for 10 sec, trendy everythign on all together, still does not work.

  I checked the hdmi cables with other devices and work on the two TV - using the shortest cable to test the laptop.
  honestly, I thought that it was a software problem because it can real detects the TV but no picture or sound work, which indicated the hdmi cables, but they work with my ps3.

  I got the error following when trying to do a factory reset - 0xe0ef0003.  He successfully reformatted my drive, so now I can not start, but he couldn't just by downloading the necessary files to reinstall Windows 7 top 16% download with the above error code.  Appearently, it cannot order a disk to install either...   I can't help you with why the recovery disks do not work, but if you can still read all 25 characters of the product key of W7 Home Premium on the bottom of your laptop, you can make your own regular installation of W7 media and which allows you to reinstall Windows.

  However, you will have to get access to another Windows PC to do this...

Followed every step asked that include having an account with dell by using Internet explorer active x control and visit the "my dell download" page and the final step which is "Registry system" and the page load but nothing shows. They have tried several times. I keep record the system but can not get the spirit of the soft reset factory page.   You must be the original owner to use my downloads Dell who has purchased software that has been installed at the factory when the computer was new. Search the site of Dell support to this software. It may be available. You must have the fingerprint reader installed on the computer. This is a feature optional, not standard.   I've had this computer for a while and you have downloaded many unnecessary programs and unnecessary processes are running reduce my activity down. Time for a factory reset, the only problem is that I do not think I have something that needs to be reset. I wiped the entire hard drive and reinstalled windows and all the drivers.
