Windows 7 blocking links to Explorer internet (I think)

I work in a small company where I made a simple html "site" with links whose co-workers can click to find documents or see the other pages created in MS Word/Excel 2007 and who are all stored on my computer. Very simple installation, amateur that works exactly.

When I first put in place I was using IE 9 and everything was fine. I've tested in IE 8 and FireFox as well as some of my colleagues use these browsers.

All of a sudden, however, on my own computer only - including the files are stored in - I can not simply follow all the links with IE 9. I click on the different links on my intranet page and nothing not happens. All my colleagues have no problem clicking on links and view the pages from their own PC.

As I am still able to navigate the links with FireFox, I tried for a long period of tinkering with settings of Internet Explorer, reset, lowering the security levels, etc., even uninstall the update of IE 9 and put it back, once again with the installation program from the MS download site, but nothing helped.

I tried looking for lights that my anti-virus has played a role in blocking things, but cound not find any indicator of what is the case (I use Microsoft Security Essentials).

My 32 bit Windows 7 PC is not connected to the internet and I did a program installs or updates at this time. Last night, it was working fine and suddenly this morning that it is not.

I finally decided to abandon IE 9 and passed to IE 8 (which was already installed), to see that it reacted exactly the same way. At that moment I decided that it must have something to do with Windows (but I have no idea really).

A few months back I experienced something similar, but to a lesser extent, by which - on the same PC and still not solved to date - IE 9 would not run any javascript whatsoever. He ran when I first put in place (a few lines of pre-written code I found on the internet at the display tabbed content on a page). but then just stopped working. Once again FireFox it just well managed and all my co-workers, regardless of OS and browser, have no problem. The problem is entirely on my own station. At the time I also tried to adjust all the parameters, but without result so finally just stopped using any kind of javascript (which had no use other than to make "site" look better).

Please advice.

Dan

Windows Me is obsolete and is therefore your computer.  Consider the purchase of a modern computer.  Examples

  • Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, even aid keeps crashing on Vista Ultimate 64 bit

I loaded Vista Ultimate x 64 and it starts fine, but when running if I use Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer or even the help option, it stops (the app not the operating system).

When I use IE7 it tires to access a URL, then says "Internet Explorer has stopped working".  When I click on the tab that says 'Find a solution online' or something to that effect, it can't find anything and shuts down.  I am able to browse websites with Firefox.

Also, when I download a 32-bit application as the cleaner _, he warns also an assertion error.  If I try again, it downloads and then I get the error:

    Hi nt5engineer,

Thanks for posting on the Forum of responses of Vista.

Is this a beta version of Vista?
Your screenshot does not appear on here.
You can use a free host of images photo, most are free.

I've seen the same behavior in the past, but it is from a beta version of Vista.
No idea what software this might be:

    'D:\longhorn\ds\securityproducts\...\dynami...ues.cpp '.

The file extension "CCP" seems to belong to the C++ developer files.
You do programming on this computer?

    3. have you made changes on the computer before the computer?
    4. are you trying to install the printer software\downloading turn off the internet?

    Method 1:
You may need to download the correct driver\software from the manufacturer's website only.

Note: After a repair, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the Knowledge Base article.

    Method 3:
You can disable the security software and check

A probable reason for the name of user and password fails in Windows Mail is

  • Windows Mail blocks

I have Vista ultimate 32 bit. When I copy and paste something Microsoft Works Word, in an email from creation, it crashes windows Mail completely.

    Help!

Wow! I have exactly the same problem. This is all just from the last few weeks. Not only made any copied text in a document of work crash windows mail, it will also crash internet Explorer. If I try to paste any text of works in the window of description on ebay, expolrer will crash. It is a real pain to say the least. I have the feeling that this is due to a recent update from windows. I have not yet tried system restore but may need?

UPDATE... I found and corrected the problem. Uninstall the windows update #KB963027. It was in the last round of updates to Vista about two weeks ago. With this removed update, the problem is solved!

  • New windows created by links start not maximized

37.0.1 on Windows 7 x 64, but this problem is currently using Firefox for a long time.

When you click a link that opens a new window (IE a link using target = "_blank") the new window opens not maximized. For example on the http://www.protodave.com/tools/verifying-a-dkim-txt-record-and-key-length/ page when you click on the link "DKIM Key Checker" it opens the target page in a new window. The window opens not maximized. I currently Firefox custom displaying the bar title and Menu bar and I did not "open new windows in a new tab instead" checked.

There is a workaround for this problem and that is to turn off the title bar in the Customize menu. When the title bar is not enabled then new windows properly open enlarged. The fact that Firefox causes the behavior expected when default mode as unwanted in the title-bar-enabled state title non-barre and reporting product behavior leads me to believe this is a bug or (hopefully) an obscure about: config option I was able to present descry.

I prefer the active title bar and so I just live with the question, but it's no doubt aggravating. Help, please.

Shift + click should open a window that has the same size of the window the link was clicked in.

However, in Windows, if you move the window to the top right, it will automatically maximize (something to consider as a work around in the meantime)

This issue is being tracked in bug 1005098, however there is no ETA when it will be worked on. It is proposed in the 38, but not implemented.
