Windows 7 cannot print

I installed windows 7 32 bit.  My printer is HP Photosmart 6180.  All of a sudden, I can't print from documents word or internet.  I have tried convenience store - no chance.  Downloaded and installed the driver from HP.  No luck.   On the Control Panel, it shows that HP as a default value, but whenever I try to print, nothing in the print queue.

  • HP Laserjet 4 MP: HP Laserjet 4 MP - just switched to Windows 10 - cannot print

Hi - I used my Laserjet without any problems on Windows 7 but cannot print now that I went to 10 Windows.   The Laserjet 4 MP is listed on the page of the driver for Windows 10 HP, but the directions for upgrading the driver doesn't seem to work or there is something that I'm not enter.

In "Devices and printers", my printer shows already that it is selected with the green check mark.  When I go to "Add a printer", it does not find the printer, even when you use the option 'my printer's oldest  So I went the next step, try using the IP address. Print my printer Config pages to try to find the ip address/port, but nothing seems to match them.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I went through all the steps of the Windows Update, found on pilots of widows 10 for Laserjet page mentioned above, but this time, instead of choosing the LPT 1 port, I chose the USB virtual port (I remembered reading on that port for an alternative online), and it worked!  (LPT 1 was probably active before a few years ago, I bought a USB connector for the cable to the printer)

  • install HP DeskJet 600 in Windows Vista - cannot print

original title: install HP DeskJet 600 in Windows Vista

I have an old (1995) HP DeskJet 600 c which works very well on my old desktop computer. I bought a USB adapter cable, to replace my old printer cable. I am trying to connect this printer to my new laptop and after that I installed the printer (with success, so he says) I click on "Print a Test Page" and I get an error message printing. I tried LPT1, LPT2 and USB001. I can't understand what I'm doing wrong. Is this printer work with Vista?

  • Impression of Windows 7 - cannot print on anything, spooler running.

    Windows 7 Home Deluxe

    latest updates of Windows.

    Printing/scanning device HP AllinOne.

Print everything to the driver file.

First the printer print a status page of the HP application, connectivity is good. Scans also work.

I am trying to print to the printer from any application - Word, Outlook, browser, does nothing.

No error message, nothing in the spooler.

Tried printing to a file using the printer default XPS, nothing there, too.

    Spooler is running,

So I suspect something in the spooler/printing subsystem is corrupt.

Any suggestions on what to get?

    Thank you

    RickH

I finally found the problem, it was the permissions on files to print.

No Diagnostics found, no more than an upgrade reinstall fix it.

I had to do a high takeown and cacls from a cmd window.

  • Windows 7 cannot print on the HP LaserJet 5 p printer

I spent about 5-6 hours on this and am pulling my hair out...

I have a new computer HP w / W7 Home Premium 64-bit.  And I connect to my old LaserJet 5 p via a line parallel to the printer, to a man, 25-pin (DB25), which is connected a parallel cable DB25 female that has a USB port on the other end. USB is connected to the port on the new computer.   The peripheral area is listed as only an "unspecified unknown device."

I started with W7 canned programs add a printer, setting up devices, download the drivers. Updates to the driver.  When the test print did nothing, so I went on troubleshooting.  So, which went nowhere...

Then I went to HP, looked through many sites of help Articles/community and finally used their technical support for BOTH the new computer area (had me re-doing the preserved parts, download the drivers through zone devices, once again, and when have not (yet), they suggested I call their "Commercial LaserJet" technician who said...) "It is no longer supported." And if the driver that you downloaded does not work, it is not MS problem, our.  Contact with them. "(Possibly), brings me here.

I went through the MS canned his fix and downloaded manually from the site of HP (as opposed to automatic download/updates devices), only to get a message... "Windows has encountered a problem installing the driver... error occurred during the installation, because it is not digitally signed or not signed it."  Contact your hardware vendor (IE HP, which does not support)

Well, you get the picture... I work a pretzel here... MS wrote it's HP, HP says it's Ms... and all I want is to use my printer who worked two weeks ago on my old Compaq!

Therefore, there is an index HP I found that looks like I might be closer to the problem that said .doc, find an interface IEEE 1284 in your devices and make sure there is no error code.  So, I found IEEE 1394 or something like that (I'm not there now).  BUT no IEEE 1284. Let the only error codes!

So, I came in contact with the service of HP, and how IEEE 1284 it there instead.  They said they do not know, and it's a problem of Ms.

So, to dig a little deeper, I found in 'Device Manager' I might add an IEEE 1284 printer... BUT slide it towards the bottom of the list did not have the 5 p. Close, but so far and nothing to update, as in the other area of the device...

So, I'm pretty frustrated that a HP printer cannot work on a HP computer, even after the download a driver of HP. This is 1284 IEEEE something you can put in place?

Clues on how to solve this problem would be very, very, very appreciated!

    Thank you

    DRJames

  • Windows XP cannot print on shared printer Windows 7

I've recently updated my Windows XP computer to Windows 7.  This computer has acted as a print server for the other 4 computers in the House, all XP sp3.  However, now that I updated to Win7 print server and installed the 64-bit drivers, none of the XP computers can print to the printer (Canon i850).

The problem seems to be that the Windows 7 machine installed 64-bit drivers to be able to print to the printer, and these are unusable by Windows XP machines.  On the Win7 computer, I try too install the x 86 drivers (under the properties of the printer-> sharing tab) so that Windows XP 32-bit machines can print, but of course the Win7 machine won't let me because it is not a 32 bit OS.  I was hoping that if I did my Windows XP machines for the printer itself on the network, they would automatically install the required printer drivers but no dice.  I tried to manually install the 32-bit drivers on the Windows XP computers directly, and it gives me an error.  Simply, I can't believe I'm the only one facing this problem (machine Win7 acting as a print server on a workgroup with Windows XP machines), but I can't seem to find a solution to this problem.

    Thank you!

The print driver names must match.  You will need to find a 64-bit driver that uses the same name that the 32 bit driver XP or install the 32-bit driver for Windows 7 on x 64 machine.  Because the files do not appear in the flat file on the 32-bit DVD format, you will need to ntprint of 32-bit Windows 7 files.

If the pilots names then it is possible that coork has a better solution.

  • Computer laptop Windows 7 cannot print on PSC 2410, attached to the desktop of Windows XP on network home

The subject little line about everything said.  I finally received the laptop to see the printer and went through Windows update to find our model of the printer, but when I print a test page nothing happens.  I tried setting up as a network printer, but could not find a driver (which he required).  Finally, I went through the local printer option to get as much as I did with her.  I also tried the XP desktop to add a printer driver for Windows 7 64-bit OS, but this option is not available... I was sharing the printer tab.

It's very frustrating because I had no problem setting up my Vista laptop.

Try the following: on the Windows 7 machine go devices and printers folder, add a printer, a local printer, create a Port, Local Port, \\Computername\Printername (use the name of the actual share of the computer and the printer), OK, then click Windows Update, and then select HP for the manufacturer and series HP PSC 2400 during the updating of the list.

  • Windows 7 cannot print on a deskjet D2650 via the network

I have a D2650 deskjet printer connected to a desktop computer running XP Pro - SP3 - updated

I got a laptop with Vista professional I could print from via my wireless to the printer.

I upgraded to a laptop with Windows 7 Pro and the laptop found the printer over the network, and I was able to print a test page, no problem. I then tried to print a Word document and nothing happens. I come back and print another test page... no problem. Try to print from other programs and... nada.

I then installed the correct drivers for Win7 64 bit, connected to the printer and print anything very well. When I return to the network and try to print, nothing other than a test page.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

To do this on the Windows 7 computer.

    Go to devices and printers
    Add a printer
    Add a local printer
Create a NEW Port in the Add Wizard in the Control Panel Printers
Select LOCAL port (unless your printer is a printer on a network with an address IP then chose TCPIP port
Enter the name of the XP network or IP address
    Install the Win 7 driver

  • No driver HP CP3505N for windows 7 - cannot print custom envelopes

    Greetings,
my HP Ladersjet C3505N apparently has no drivers for Windows 7.  The printer property has worked on XP.  What can I do to print custom envelopes and I can't determine why HP created no drivers for Windows 7. The printer is not that old, but has now become a problem for me.

Thanks for all the tips on how to work around this problem.

    /Susan

Oh gosh... it was not a driver issue at all... to request more and a person of THIS ready to spend time on this issue, I discovered that it is a matter of word 2010 do not accept envelopes with a width smaller than 6.4. I guess that all this happened at the same time... .new computer and word 2010! Thank you both for your help. At least my drivers and firmware are updated! :)

Word (or your printer) will not allow a smaller width of the envelope than 6.4 ". You may still be able to print an envelope which is 5.75 "x 4,38", but you'll have to evade the provision. Accept the minimum width in the Options dialog box for envelopes and then, when Word gives you something to work with, just to increase the left margin of 0.65 "to compensate for the difference between 6.4"and 5.75".

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community. Before you start the troubleshooting steps a few quick questions:

    1. are you unable to print any email or a particular message?

2 are you able to print from other office applications and also from application windows such as WordPad, Notepad or Internet Explorer?

    3. what happens when you try to print? You receive error message nay?

    4. print preview appears fine?

Change the printer and then try to print and check:

Click on the file<>Print< under="">name ofthe printer change the OneNote or XPS document writer printer and check if it prints correctly.

Note: If you are able to print from OneNote or XPS, then contact the manufacturer of your printer to update printer drivers.

I hope that the above suggestions help. If you need any other replica of assistance and we will be happy to help you.
