Windows 7 detection as a generic non - PnP monitor, cannot set 16:10 resolutions.

After the reboot, I noticed my resolution has been reset and when I went to go put my Native resolution. I discovered that it wasn't on the list more, and that it has detected it as a 'generic Non - PnP monitor '. Updated video card, CCC, he admits to 1680 x 1050 60 Hz max resolution.

Video card is an ATI Radeon HD 5750, Monitor is a 20.1 "Soyo MT - NI - DYLM2086 DVI.

Drivers Vista will also work.

I installed the drivers from nvidia windows 7 (190,62) and it works fine, except that I can't change my resolution to 1680 x 1050 for my 22 inch LCD V7 R22W02 display! It presents itself as 'Generic Non - PnP Monitor'. When I update the drivers, it says that the Non - pnp drivers are up-to-date. The maximum I can choose is 1600 x 1200 which makes all crushed. My monitor is plug'nplay (!) and I can not launch the drivers from the site Web V7 because they are 32-bit.

I had this problem until I fixed it.

Problem: the resolution of my screen changed all of a sudden, the screen was LCD ACER monitor..., but it changed for non-Plug-and-Play monitor generic.

Solution: what I did unplug the power cable that is connected to the monitor when the PC was on.  Then I plugged it to the screen after a few seconds.  I was so happy that my screen resolution was all perfect again! Haha! Simple =)

I hope this works for anyone having this problem too.

  • DisplayPort to DVI adapter is generic Non - PNP monitor

I have a 6 week old want H8 - 1420 T C1U69AV #ABA, Windows 8 64 bit, 1 GB Radeon HD7670 and I am trying to connect two Dell 1905FP monitors. Each monitor works fine when it is connected to the DVI port. When I connect a monitor with an adapter HP DisplayPort / DVI dongle, the system reports it as a generic Non - PNP monitor and the screen remains black. I tried the adapter on another system, and it works fine.

I've updated to the new '8.982.10.1800 Rev A January 3, 2013' driver on the HP site, but it did not help. The AMD drivers will not install because it is apparently a video of the ugly step-child card, not a true AMD. If I knew that I would have not purchased with the system.

I have the original of the 1905FP CD when I bought it and it isn't a driver file on this subject (no need of one with XP). When the monitors work, they are each reported as a 1905FP.

    Someone at - it suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion, but this has been resolved over the weekend. I was using a passive adapter Displayport to DVI. I replaced it with a Startech DP2DVIS active adapter Displayport to DVI and that did the trick.

  • Unable to set the display resolution, Intel HD 4600 in Device Manager displays ' generic non-pnp monitor low resolution.

I am slot as Windows 7 Pro on a Dell Intel 64 bit pc with a screen HD Dell I5 and Intel HD graphics 4600 driver.  PC woke up a few hours of inactivity, after no updates known to windows or other programs, with icons and pages double size beyond the limits of the monitor, setting the low resolution and Device Manager showing ' no generic pnp monitor low resolution ' instead of 'Monitor Dell HD' and no option to increase the resolution.  No help with reset, not restoration, disconnection and reconnection monitor auto plug n Play, 'Search new device', 'add a device', update of the graphics driver, reinstall the drivers from the Dell monitor.  Troubleshooting peripheral reported to date and working correctly.  After I finally uninstalled driver restarted, and graphic displays "default monitor" Device Manager (no longer "generic low resolution"), no graphics driver identified, but don't allow me to change to a higher resolution.  New windows had to be individually size / expanded to fill the screen.  This can be corrected?  I want to optimize my display settings for this monitor.  I have reinstall my graphics driver or just be happy that I can use my computer?  Thank you.

Call Dell.  Your monitor should have a 3-year warranty.  Your matching OptiPlex with a warranty of one year more.

Also, check all the hidden and invisible buttons on the monitor.  Someone may have inadvertently changed one of these.

  • Resolution of Windows Server R2 2012 stuck at 1024 x 768 generic Non - PnP

    Hello

I want to have my own windows home server, so I installed WindowsServer 2012 R2 on a laptop Aspire 7740. But the laptop does not screen because I don't need, I want to order the server remotely via VNC. The problem I have with the server, it's that I can't increase the resolution, so if I use VNC only 1/4 of my remote screen is filled with the desktop of the server due to the fact that my remote screen resolution 1920 x 1080.

Is it possible to increase the resolution of a generic Non - PnP monitor? (I tried to install the drivers from w8.1 but it did not work)

  • Monitor undetected, only non - PNP monitor used

I have been using Windows 7 and an external monitor, an Acer AL2216W, for several weeks.  The wreck of monitor to 1680 x 1050 was used.  I rebooted and now 1680 x 1050 is no longer a choice.  When I use the widget of the resolution of the screen, it lists the monitor as generic non - PnP Monitor.  I have a choice of different resolutions, that which some only displayed.  I chose to use 1600 x 1200, but the fonts are blurry and 1680 x 1050, the characters are crunchy.  I tried to install the driver for the Acer AL2216W monitor, but windows tells me that she loves her current driver more and it won't install it.  Do you know what I could try to have this monitor correctly detected?

    Thank you!

This is resolved.  The monitor must be disconnected, turned off and then reconnected.  Having done this, the monitor is again detected by all computers.

    Thank you

  • Windows 7 sees my second monitor as "generic non - PnP" and will not let me set the correct resolution

    Hello

I just installed Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on a new hard drive on my Dell Studio 540. The PC has a graphics card ATI Radeon HD 3450 and has a Samsung 226bw 22 "monitor on the digital output. This works very well, and has the resolution of 1650 x 4050. When I am running Vista (on the previous hard drive), I got a monitor flat 14 "old on the other out, and it worked fine (although at a lower resolution).

I added a monitor AOC F22s + on the other output, expecting to be able to put this to the recommended 1920 x 1080 resolution. Unfortunately, Windows has developed the driver for this monitor "Generic non - PnP" and will not let me set the correct resolution. To the maximum it will allow is 1600 x 1200, (as well as all other resolutions it allows) do not use the monitor at maximum capacity, which is the ratio of evil anyway, so the display seems tense.

I run Windows Update, so have the latest drivers. I tried to install the other drivers, but nothing helped.

I tried to unplug the Samsung monitor and restart the PC, so that the AOC, one was the only monitor it and he always had as 'Generic non - PnP' with the wrong resolution.

Someone at - it ideas? I'm at my wits end. AOC support did not understand and could only suggest that the monitor was faulty, but the place where I bought it insist that it works very well and so no Exchange or get a refund (no restocking fee, which is a RIP-OFF).

I really want to use both screens and would appreciate greatly any help that anyone can give. I hope I gave enough information. If I didn't, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance,

    Alan

    PROBLEM SOLVED!

It turned out that my VGA cable was wrong and that it was not send the right signal to the computer. The screen worked fine with a VGA monitor, but the PC has not said that the new monitor is a PnP I tried a different cable and it worked fine.

  • Cannot set the screen resolution to 64-bit on windows 7 64-bit edition.

So, I bought a laptop with windows 7 64 bit is installed. I rolled back my driver after a few months to fix a crash on a game I was playing. I'm running a nvidia geforce gtx 260 m. Under the nvidia Control Panel, I see I can use 32-bit resolution. I updated the driver and I checked the other updates. However, I can not yet use 64-bit color. How can I set it so I can use 64-bit?

    Thanks in advance!

'64 bit,' in this context, describes your mother/CPU card and your
    version of Windows.

"64-bit color," in this context, describes how many different colors
can be displayed. This is a * completely * different question of the
mother/CPU card and Windows version question above. The number of colors
that can be displayed depends on your video card and how much
memory, there is on this topic. If it has all video cards that can make 64-bit
color, I don't know of them. It would be a waste, in any case, since your
eyes could not distinguish that many colours. Still 32 bits
color can provide over 4 billion different colors.

    > However, I still can't use 64-bit color. How can I set it so I can use 64-bit?

You can not and not need to. There is no advantage to do so.

  • L220x monitor cannot work in 1920 x 1200 on Windows 7

I have a monitor with a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 L220x 22 "Lenovo. Under Windows 7, the operating system doesn't offer not any of in favour of this resolution, corking on-site in 1600 x 1200. I have the good. INF installed for this monitor is "Lenovo L220xwC (Analog)".

The host system is a Lenovo T60. A similar problem exists with Windows XP. To work around this problem, I had to select the option "Ignore the settings of the monitor" (or something similar) within the ATI Catalyst program. However there is no equivalent to the program in the version of WIndows 7 to the ATI drivers.

I tried the "ATI Display Driver for Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit" Lenovo Windows 7 Beta site and apparently not what either.

Any suggestions? A peek inside the. INF file suggests he's trying to tell Windows that it supports 1920 x 1200.

The L220X is now working at full resolution. The problem was a defective cable analog VGA connecting my port Expander to the monitor.

When it is connected with the defective cable, Windows 7 (and, presumably, XP before it) it detected as a 'generic Non - PnP monitor' in Device Manager. Apparently, Windows caps the choice of the resolution without any higher than 1600 x 1200 for non - PNP monitors. This limit held even if I forced the correct monitor INF by installing L220XWC.INF.

To solve the problem, go to the Device Manager and uninstall the driver for the external monitor monitor. Then, with a new VGA cable, connect the monitor external and an analysis of the material changes. This time, Windows considers it as a 'generic PnP monitor' and offers the possibility of 1920 x 1200 screen resolution tool.

(Note: edited to replace the original "solution" that was wrong, because it has to test myself at a different desk with another cable.)

  • Non - Generic PNP monitor problems

So a few months ago, I had a problem with my PC where it would do the sounds of disconnection/reconnection as im Plug and unplug a USB... I had no idea what it was and he finally stopped.

Now, she came back and found out that the cause is what is called my 'generic Non - PNP monitor' I had my window peripheral upward and the noises at the start I looked and saw that coming in and out of connection and other. I only use 1 monitor and run Windows 7 Home Premium.

I had first turned off this unit and it stopped for a few minutes then it re-enabled itself and started to act up again. Then I uninstalled the driver, but he quickly reinstalled itself... I ended up re - turn off and unplug that I discovered on my screen plugged into my hard drive internal, but also my Radeon. Since I unplugged I have not heard but I want to know if it was the real problem or I'm just have a chance with her?

    Hi Nathan,

    Thanks for the reply.

It seems that your computer detects that you have another monitor connected. You have a monitor to fix?

You can set the second monitor in mirror and then disconnect. That could prevent switching monitors.

    Hope this information helps.

This monitor works fine but is detected by the generic as 'PNP monitor' Device Manager. My video card is detected correctly. I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. It also shows that Asus VS247 in devices and printers. I checked the Asus support and they do not have a monitor driver.

    Any comments would be appreciated.

    Roger,

    I'm glad to hear that.

Just to let you know, it is often the case with the monitors.

They will be the "default"setting, but still have the correct driver.

  • Windows 7 Non - PnP device

What is peripheral Non - PnP?

    Hello

Windows supports the specifications that define how a computer can detect and configure the newly added hardware and automatically installs the device driver Plug-and-Play. Before Plug-and-Play, users had to manually configure devices before attaching them to the computer which is known as Non Plug and play (Non - PnP).

  • Windows does not recognize second monitor, lists as generic pnp monitor

I have a Setup dual monitor. When I bought the monitor in that I plugged it, windows 7 recognized immediately there were no problem driver. After about two weeks all sudden Windows Add as the right brand and model but just as a generic pnp monitor. I rebooted and the problem was solved. Then it started happening more and more and now I have nothing will fix the problem. I installed the drivers for the monitor, ATI drivers reinstalled and nothing else in between I can find. It wouldn't be a problem except that when it it lists as is the generic monitor does not have the correct resolution and I'm stuck with a second monitor that is horrible with a lower resolution. Any help or ideas would be useful.

    Specifications of the computer:

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

    Motherboard Asus Maximus II

    Intel Core2 Quad Q9550

    4 GB of Ram

    ATI Radeon HD 4870

    First monitor: Acer AL2216W

    Second monitor: Optiquest Q2162wb

    Hi k.Winger,

What happened when you tried to remove it in Mode safe?

I suggest to disable your antivirus and security temporarily software and try remove and reinstall driver.

  • Restore settings from the generic pnp monitor on Dell laptop

While trying to do a second monitor to work with my Dell laptop, I changed somehow the settings on my laptop screen.  Looks like it has changed the appropriate parameters for the additional monitor.

I can't understand how to restore the original settings for the generic pnp monitor on my laptop. I don't know how to manipulate icons in the window' display settings '.»  When I move the '1' icon, I see just zeroes--not numbers.  At one point, the size of the modified icons - the '1' was smaller and larger '2'. Who is now reversed.

At this point, I want to just restore the settings of the laptop monitor the way in which they were and start on my original problem (which was Windows Media Player works with the second monitor).

If you disable the second monitor that the computer should return to the unique display. In the display settings, click on the second monitor if boxes before "this is my main monitor" and "Extend the desktop to this monitor" is checked, click to uncheck the boxes, then click on the apply"" button.
