  • removal of the password expiration in windows 7 Home premium?

in google search the answer seems to be on command prompt run as administrator hit command net accounts maxpwage: unlimited, but the problem is that it does not say the command has run successfully, instead, I get a bunch of say syntax

    NET {accts/computer/continue/group files/help/helpmsg/local/group/break/and session

How can I fix this so I can finish the command successfully prevent my password expired. I know I can't fix through local user groups (not in windows 7 Home premium and not through the uac...)     I: have a step by step ordering process because I'm not a programmer and I am a user of intermediate consumption.  Thank you!!

    Redford:

You may have always given up this password expires the thing, but I followed your posts at the end and I wanted to let you know that I just got to work! I don't have to do anything really to my computer, I just worked in the command prompt. And that's simply because of the headaches that you've been through a couple of years.

If you, or anyone else for that matter, is need for all stages of simplified then voila:

I am under my user account with administrator privaleges. I am running Windows normally. Windows told me that my password is going to expire tomorrow.

    1) click Start menu

    2) command prompt type

    (3) right click on command prompt

    (4) select run as administrator

    (5) type the following text exactly net /maxpwage accounts: unlimited

(so if someone told you that by phone (so read aloud and it's logical) it would be net accounts [space bar] [space bar] oblique (the one with the question mark key) maxpwage colon unlimited, no space after the slash)

    6) press [Enter]

    (7) you will receive a notice that says that the command completed successfully.

I just thought that you, Redford, perhaps for another attempt after a couple of years. And, if I am incorrect, it is now listed on all together for someone else to use with the knowledge that he managed to fool the computer, me.

For anyone else reading this, not Redford, when you work with the command prompt, you must type it exactly. That's why #5, brackets, I typed out as one addressed to you, something someone used, the other on me and it worked. If you get something other than the result stated in #7 make sure you typed it exactly.

Good luck! Yet once again, it worked for me.

    Sincerely,

    LadyOfSimplicity

  • How to buy a Windows 7 Home Premium product key?

I have a Toshiba NB550D netbook (AMD Fusion: D) which has Windows 7 starter, but due to some issues such as memory limitations, program limitations, no aero, no customization, I want to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I have Home Premium discs I used initially to install on this desktop computer, so all I need is a new product key.

Is their any official method by Microsoft to buy a key product that you could do with Microsoft Office 2010 (buy a card with the product key to this topic)? I saw a guy on ebay selling product by E-mail keys, but I am unwilling to trust to buy from him if what he does is neither legal nor safe.

Since the cost is the same suggest you get DVD media too, the DVD will be authentic and can also be considered a set of backup media if you lose your existing media.

    Hi SirBruce,

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    2. type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

  • Windows XP can't see shared files and folders on the system Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

I have a wireless home network. When I got Windows 7 Home premium 32-bit on my desk - my XP laptop was able to share files and folders.

Today, I upgraded my computer to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Now - my Windows 7 Desktop can access files on my XP laptop - BUT - I was no longer able to access to any shared files and folders on the Windows 7 desktop. I checked that matches the name of working group. And on the XP - when I go to the Add Assistant preferred network and make a Browse. When I select Microsoft Windows network and task force - I see my office listed. But when I try to select - the OK button remains grayed out.
I would appreciate your help on this.

Thanks for your help - but I just found out the problem. In the advanced sharing settings, I forgot to select Enable turn off password protected sharing. The second I chose no-all the files and folders that I set to share on the Windows 7 system became available.

    Thanks for your help, anyway.
  • Unable to start boot corrupted files Windows Vista Home premium

Hello all recently I got my hands on an old Toshiba laptop Satellite I'm supposed to have attachment to a friend, however, she doesn't remember the password for the laptop so I searched for ways to circumvent the password and delete it however, I ran into a major problem, according to the wiki site , how you put in a family of Windows Vista installation disc premium, you select your country and all that say before you install is a repair of your computer, but I can't so I thought well maybe if I hit install that it will recognize that there are already Windows Vista on the computer however to my dismay that it did not so I canceled the installation but now the computer does not even boot into Vista at all he'll just do Startup Repair whenever whenever it starts "Windows loading files" I already tried several things the bootrec command using command prompt without success, I tried to restore the master boot record by using the command-line without success either, here are the details as seen from the Startup Repair tool: signature of the problem GREATER TOMBENT AUTO there is also one that says corrupt boot configuration data and who says fix partition table I look it up online that I mean who is the code which is the ID of locale 1033 I looked up the exact problem this forum and he said if there is the disconnect a USB connected the problem with that is there is no USB device connected. To clarify what I said earlier about wiki, how what I tried to do initially was put in the trunk of installation disk from the CD in the environment of the installation, then click on repair your computer so that I could use CMD to reset the password online, I have seen that you can change the keys to self-retaining pull up of CMD by modifying the ease of access button but I thought that it would be easier because I don't have to understand how to fix the ease of access button after I did. So now I am at a loss as to what I could do next to important things to note that this computer doesn't have system restore points stored on it so it is not an option if you do not understand something please let me know and thank you for your suggestions. PS I will try a disk check, now that I think of it.

Hello all I was able to restore the computer back in working order without password, I did however have download and burn a copy of Vista Home premium at my discretion. But I use the product key legally reactivate Windows Vista Home premium but I have to say that the search for the driver for this laptop has not been easy, especially the pilot Wi - Fi that I had to go

burn it to a disk, and then install the software in this way. I really don't know not how I got the display driver correct because I downloaded the driver two booster and then the next minute it was display driver just because I checked on the user manual on Toshiba.com and it was the correct an Intel 3000 graphics thank you all so much for your help and I hope this helps someone else :-)

  • Help with error message: "Windows Vista Home Premium product key you typed in is invalid for activation.

Original title: help with error message... Please...!

I use a desktop PC of HP Pavilion a6202.uk with Windows Vista Home Premium & Microsoft Office 2003.  When I am back from vacation & turned on my PC, my password was OK, but rather to raise Windows, I received the following message: "Windows Vista Home Premium product key you typed in is invalid for activation.  He then listed the following options: "access your computer with reduced functionality (this will allow you to buy a product online key)" or "Type a different product key" or "contact HP to help solve this problem."

I have no idea what a product key is and don't have anything either in the type comes to connect as usual.  I can't access anything to be same to reduced functionality.  I can not type in a new product key because I did not.  I can not contact HP - phone number does not... !!

I'm quite desperate, I travel docs to print and e-mail to answer and I don't have any idea what is happening.  Please can someone help with this not very IT clued-up DTP...!

    Moved from Vista programs Forum.

You should have a sticker with the product key on your computer, on the bottom, or under the battery cover.  I try to type this key in and see if it accepts it.  If this isn't the case, you might not have an authentic version of Windows installed.

I write on behalf of a client. The customer wants to know how to remove the prompt at startup to sign as an administrator or guest in Windows Vista Home Premium. I hope to hear from you.

The computer does NOT prompt you to sign any particular account.
He simply open a connection with all available accounts screen and the user must specify the logon account.

The user has an option to configure the computer automatically log on to the user account without going through the login screen.
BUT, to do that, the user must be administrator or in possession of an admin password.

Here is the tutorial to do.

  • HP dm4-3099se with Windows 7 Home Premium format and would like to re - install Home Premium

My laptop is HP Pavilion dm4-3099se and it came with Windows 7 Home Premium. The password was lost and I was advised to format the system. The system has been formatted (all disks have been removed except for drive C :) and an OS from Windows 8 pro installed. Shortly after the formatting, found the lost password. If possible, I'd like to go back to the operating system supplied with the system (i.e. window Home Premium) and also get all the drivers provided with the system.

    Please, help me.

    Hello

    There are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Also, if possible, back up the folder swsetup which lie at the root of the C drive.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a very respected source (Digital River).

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

Regarding the drivers etc, you must, if you were able to save the swsetup this will contain all the software installers and drivers for your laptop - if you were not able, drivers and software, you may need can be found here.

    Best regards

Error code 37. I have a model CM5688 E gateway with Windows Vista Home Premium.  My Optiarc DVD RW AD - 7203 has left a couple of weeks of work.  Anyone have an idea how I can get it working again?

    Hi Sunday47,

There are many causes of Code 39 errors:

    ·         A required device driver is missing.

    ·         A required binary file is corrupted.

    ·         There is a problem with the file I/O process.

    ·         A driver that refers to an entry point in another binary file cannot load.

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Run the fixit available in the link below

Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314060

    If the problem persists,

Step 2: Uninstall and reinstall the drivers.

    1. click on start and then click Control Panel.

    2. click on system and Maintenance, click System, and then click Device Manager.

Note If Control Panel is in Classic view, double-click System and then click on Device Manager.

    3. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    4. in Device Manager, expand CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives, right click on the device CD and DVD and then click on uninstall.

    5. When you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the device, click OK.

    6. restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the drivers will be installed automatically.
