Windows 7 is not geuine

original title: my laptop 3 month old crashed and I had to use a bootdisk from my son the same laptop to get operational. Now I have a message saying that Windows 7 is not genuine.

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

Ideas: I asked this question last night and a guy named Noel gave a great answer to this, but I can't find the thread now sorry if this has been repeated. He gave me a statement link, which of course I can't find it now. The laptop works quite well now, but I would like to say that my product is authentic. Any response would be appreciated. Thank you very much in anticipation.

I don't know if this helps, but I ran a check from another thread?
.. .and I said there - that is where you should have posted this. :)
(I'd love to see MGADiag report your son as well - but should not be greedy( )

I think that your computers are not as identical as you thought - so certificates are not correct for activation OEM_SLP works correctly
You should be able to activate with the COA sticker on your case - click on the link to change the product key at the bottom of the system properties page and then activate by phone.
