After the upgrade to Windows 8, the computer does not recognize my second monitor. Disconnect and reconnect the device after it remains unknown. I am running a Dell Inspiron all in one office. Do I need to install a driver so that he will recognize the secondary monitor? If so, which?

    Access

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Screen resolution

and make sure that both monitors are indicated and "Extend desktop to this display" is selected for each monitor.

If both monitors are not displayed, try clicking on "Detect".

    ==================

Check Device Manager to see if the card video cards (if you use more than one) and both screens are indicated in the list of devices.

Try to go to the Dell website, enter your service number (usually located on a label on the back of the case) or the installation allows to detect the pattern.

  • Windows 8 will not detect my second monitor.

I recently bought a VGA splitter to connect my second monitor to my computer. It turns on but it duplicates only (not even as good resolution). I want to use this monitor to expand, but when I go to display and resolution it does not detect the second monitor even after click on detect. Someone has an answer to this?

A VGA splitter can duplicate only a display. It does not report a second graphics port for Windows, which is necessary if Windows is to recognize two separate screens.

If your system has a single port graph, you will need to replace your graphics card (or add a card, if you use the integrated graphics card) with a with two or more output channels.

  • Windows 8 does not recognize my second monitor

Initially, I had a desktop with monitor Samsung acer computer. I added a second monitor (Acer), in the hope of having an extended screen.  I use a splitter of VGA cable but I got a dual monitor.  How can I make a second screen when windows 8 do not recognize my second screen.

    Hi Gayle,

You get an error message when the second screen not not detected?

Ensuring that both monitors are shown and Extend Office for this view can help get the problem solved.

  • First Pro CC will not recognize the second monitor

    Greetings:

I'm having a problem with the help of my second monitor to the output in CC PP.  I did the following based on another post:

Try these two steps to check the transmission is enabled:

    1. go in the program monitor Panel menu > check "Allow to pass" is checked.

    2. go to Preferences > reading > check your 2nd monitor is present and active.

What I get when I do it is a black screen that covers the top left of my screen at 1920 x 1080, the size of my other monitor.  When I save a project and use my second monitor for a sign, say under my belt, I'm able to drag the Panel above and use it, but when I save and reboot, the Panel is always on my primary monitor:

I tried different confgurations in Preferences-> reading, but get the same result every time.  I have to force quit when I get the black box, I'm unable to access other options of PP.  Anyone encountered this, and if so, is there a solution?  I saw that there was a problem of "transmit", but that does not solve this problem.  Thank you!

I don't hate replying to my own post, but I thought I'd post here how I solved my problem in case someone else ends up here with a similar one.

To be clear, I have 2 monitors and when I activated transmit full playback screen would be superimposed on my workspace creation on monitor 1 even though I had specified to monitor 2 in my video device in the preferences > reading.

It seems that during the last few months (I have a vague memory of it), I decided to check the "improvements" in the way Mavericks managed multiple monitors. I created two spaces in Mission Control, this is how Applications in the dock wins a menu extended options in the menu contextual (the one that appears when your right click the application icon in the dock). I knew that this extended menu was there because the site of Apple told me.

From the OPTIONS menu on my 2 monitor setup are then ASSIGN to > all workstations; OFFICE ON DISPLAY 1; OFFICE ON DISPLAY 2; NONE.

After trying the various options to see if the operation was consistent with the explanation of Apple and if I wanted to work with spaces, I decided that I don't have not so I removed the spaces that I created in Mission Control.

Remove the deleted spaces these additional options ASSIGN to THE menu even though I wasn't aware of this at the time.

A few days later, I went to allow the TRANSMISSION when editing in Premiere Pro (that I had used successfully before) than having the problem described in this thread. I stupidly credited this problem for a recent update of CC and in the release of 2014 CC does not correct it, I started to look elsewhere.

Cut to the end and the way - after proving that a new Mac user account test does not show the problem, I have returned to my user account, active areas in control from Misson, changed the menu ATTRIBUTE to None for Premiere Pro (default), then the TRANSMISSION function worked correctly, showing a full picture has been assigned to the correct window.

OK, the last paragraph may suggest I knew what to do but I have not, I had spent a lot to research in the library of the user to search for differences, until I came across this.

  • New installation of Windows 7 will not identify the second internal hard drive

Attempted recently to upgrade a computer running the SP3 of XP to Windows 7.  Bought the new FULL version of 7.
Have two 1 t Seagate Barracuda SATA drives on board; Operating system in partition 1 of disk C:. second disc to store data only.

Several unsuccessful attempts to install 7, but with helpful suggestions, others on this forum, (i.e., update of the BIOS, re-formatting drive C to do a clean install, etc.) finally managed to a successful installation.

All right, except that it does not find my second hard drive.  I have the disks attached ports SATA 1 & 2, but the system reads them so much as the C: drive.  The second disc appears in the BIOS Setup and Explorer as just the C: drive.

Tried to change the SATA port for second drive to 3 and 4 with the same result.  It always appears as the C: drive.

How can I get the systΦme can recognize the drive, so it can be assigned to a drive letter and I can access?  I suspect that the reformatting of the first disc for installation probably erased some boot sector/configuration info.

A side issue: before attempting to upgrade to XP, I backed up my "Documents and Settings" on an external drive.  Now that XP is passed to the computer, can I continue to use Windows Easy Transfer to retrieve all my settings and info from the program, or who's going to screw me up?

Check if the hard drive is assigned to a drive letter in disk management.

Click Start, right click on computer

    Click on management of

    Expand disk management

Select your external hard drive if its posted here

Make a right click paths and change drive letter

Restart your computer, open the computer in the start menu and see if it shows then.

I uninstalled what is called "Windows Live ID Sign - in Assistant", as well as the usual games of .NET, MS for Windows - LIVE and games for Windows Marketplace Client, then ran a registry cleaner (I used CCleaner, which is free) and restarted.
I then reinstalled GWL from MS. site
