Windows 7 - wireless adapter or network is not visible

Hello
Recently I've updated from windows xp to Windows 7. When you use windows xp, I have access to my router wirelessly from my laptop. But in windows 7, the wireless network and the adapter itself is not visible (I tried in the taskbar, Panel-> Network and sharing Center). My laptop Dell Inspiron 1520 and wireless (earlier) is Intel 4965AGN. I tried to install a few drivers, but no permits. I don't know what the problem is? There is a problem with the driver / card wifi / Windows 7. Kindly help.
Thank you

Unfortunately, this adapter is not compatible with the W8 and I recommend you just get an external usb wireless adapter and use it.

  • Inspiron n4010 virtual wireless adapter shows 'unplugged', does not connect

I've scoured the web looking for a solution to this problem, found a similar question posted here, but no solution... en.Community.Dell.com/.../20263886

My friend brought me his Inspiron n4010 notebook help saying until a few months ago, he used to connect to the wifi with no problems. All of a sudden, it wouldn't show all wireless networks available no matter where she went - its wireless home network, work network and neighborhood of free wifi hotspots - none would connect. Similarly, I have tried with my home wireless network and my network wireless office without result. Connect LAN2 (for Boradcom virtual Wireless Adapter) this always as 'unplugged network Cable.

    6. I checked the Windows Mobility Center. Wireless 'tile' was where it should have, according to other messages I saw who were on this subject. Strangely, when I clicked on the button to launch under Dell - Radio control options, checkboxes Wi - Fi and Mobile Broadband have been unchecked and greyed out.

    7. I have reset the winsock catalog and restarted the computer via the elevated command prompt (Administrator)
    NET winsock reset catalog
    No change in status wireless.

    8. I disabled the Norton firewall and Windows and anti-virus to see if wireless was somehow blocked by them. No change in status wireless.

    9. I checked the Windows power plan settings to confirm that network cards did not have their power reduced. I put the adapter wireless for maximum while on battery and current performance alternative.

    10. I checked the Windows Event Viewer logs > Windows Logs > system:

I've seen repeated Scriptures error spread among the many dates of "BTHUSB (Blue Tooth adapter failed in an indeterminate way, will not be used.". The driver has been unloaded. "I saw no reference to what about wireless however.

    11. I tried to run Windows Update manually to see what, if any, driver updates it can find (using a network cable connection) and got the error 'cannot be updated because the Windows Update service is not started. I confirmed that he was released. I also manually stopped and restarted the service but continued to get the same error message. I kept the Windows Firewall and Norton Firewall (and antivirus) disabled in case they were interfereing with Windows Update, but no luck.

    12. I ran bad/ad/spyware scans with a portable version of Spybot and also a free version of SuperAntiSpyware, analyze the results showed several adware results, that have been deleted.

    13. I tried to manually configure the IP address, subnet mask and entered default gateway for IPv4 to the wireless adapter, which had been put on "obtain automatically", as it should. I also put the server DNS preferred my ISP (Comcast), then tried Google 8.8.8.8. This should have worked but the connection still showed as "cable disconnected" (why is a mistake to launch a "cable disconnected" wireless connection?)

    14. just for fun, I ran the update from the Intel driver from their site (via wired), who identified the available for graphics and Chipset updates - I've updated both, but it did not help (no surprise).

    15. I started Windows in Safe Mode with network - just as in normal mode, he showed the connection wireless as "cable disconnected".

I am open to any suggestions at this point. The laptop is out of warranty so prefer to avoid paid support, if in any way possible.

If you can get a hardware ID by activating / deactivating it on or turned off, it suggests itself wireless card is bad... Diagnostic tests could confirm this:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/F12-Preboot-Diagnostics/

You can look in the service manual to try and reinsert the card or replace it. His work a bit longer than necessary:

    http://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_inspiron_laptop/Inspiron-14r_service%20manual_en-us.PDF

An easier solution if you are uncomfortable with the material of the Assembly would be to buy a USB wireless adapter.

I have a DELL Inspiron 14R with windows 7 installed top.

Yesterday, Wifi worked very well, and today, it is not. Wireless adapter is not listed in the change of parameters of the card or even the Device Manager... However, the ethernet connection works fine.

I tried to reload using the last configuration and nothing has changed.

Any idea on what the problem might be, and a solution would be more than welcome :)

    Thank you.

    Hello Fredric,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum.

    1. This is the first time that you connect to a Wi - Fi connection?
    2. You get the error message? If Yes, what is the exact error message/code?
    3. You did it hardware or software change before the specific issue?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check.

Method 1: why I can't connect to the Internet? to:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/cant-connect-Internet#1TC=Windows-7

Method 2: Install the latest drivers for the network card

How can I troubleshoot network card?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/fix-network-adapter-problems#1TC=Windows-7

For problems with missing wireless adapter, update the drivers for the wireless adapter and check if you are able to access the Internet

Method 3: Update a hardware driver that is not working properly

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows/Update-driver-hardware-isn ' t-work correctly

Please return with the result and also answers to the above questions, we will be happy to help you further.

    All the best!

  • Cannot install Wireless Adapter (card NETWORK or USB key) to the Pavilion p6340a Win 7 Home Prem

I removed a work card TP-Link to a Pavilion a1300a XP Home PC network to put in my Pavilion p6340a Win 7 (64-bit) Home Prem PC.

Download and install the current drivers of TP-Link.
Installed everything well and the adapter can be seen in sub "Change adapter settings" in network and sharing Center and shows as working properly in Device Manager, but it is not recognized as a network within the network and sharing Center.

Under "Manage wireless networks'" nothing appears, if I then click on Add"then manually create network profile" "I then get an informative message '" an unexpected error occurred'. "

Suspect a problem with the NETWORK card, I uninstalled it and its drivers and tried to install a USB wireless adapter with the same exact result and the error message. It seems that there must be an OS problem or something stopping the wireless to work. USB adapter both NIC work properly when installed on the former Pavilion a1300a XP Home PC. NETWORK card and USB adapter are the current drivers for Win7.

All the ideas it driving me crazy. A simple 5 minutes on any other PC task turned into many.many hours without solution.

After many hours of uninstall re install & try everything under the Sun in many forums, I finally found a solution. Despite trying with firewall disabled at different times was the final fix

    1. Uninstall NETWORK card and USB drivers and devices.
    2. Then uninstall the AntiVirus (in this case AVG Internet Security)
    3. Reinstall the NETWORK card and drivers
    4. Reinstall AntiVirus

Tried the USB adapter as well so that the antivirus has been uninstalled and installed no. with problems.

    Everything works very well.

    Hi JRKellison,

    1. What is the model number of the router?
    2. What is the full error message that you receive?
    3. This is the first time you install it on the computer?

Check and make sure that the adapter is properly connected to the computer.

I suggest that you try to install the driver using compatibility mode and check if it works.

  • Added Windows 7 as OS secondary now USB adapter and network does not work.

    Hello

Recently, I bought a laptop HP from TS 15 w / 4GB preinstalled with Win 8. I bought windows 8.1 PRO thinking that w / the downgrade rights I get Win 7 w / no prob. Must clear my system and bring back the 8.1. And yesterday, I added Win 7.

Now, every time I switch to Win 7 (I need Win 7 for a work at home customer), I have no internet access at all - the network adapter is missing so if the USB controller and ethernet. So even if I had to go back to 8.1 and download a driver on a USB I can't use cuz on Win 7, it would not be recognized.

  • problem with access point or wireless adapter, a network cable is not plugged in correctly or may be broken

I recently purchased the 8 Envy Touchsmart PC Notbook HP windows. Immediately I put in place, and everything worked well - even on the Internet, unfortunately has an hour or so I started to have problems with Internet... I go through the process of diagnosis to do repair, but that did not help much, so I updated my laptop. For a few minutes, it worked, and then the problem once more. Frustrated, I checked my other laptop (which I use to write this), and the network was very good. In fact, all my other WIFI device did not appear to have problems. Anyway, thinking it would help, I connected to my router, changed my mac address, it did not work so I had to go back to the default Mac setting. I ran troubleshooting 300 times or more, but who has not fixed my problem at all.

I checked my network card, it is updated... I see no problems with it at all. I checked every setting in there, but there seems to be no problem. sometimes windows network diagnostics say found problems, he's talking about wireless /wifi ip is not configured or something, I don't remember the exact words. He would say that it is connected, but I see the yellow sign that appears on the wireless icon. He would also say «identifying...» "A minute im connected and then the next day it does not.
I do of course when it comes to setting basic stuff, but it's just beyond my comprehension. I can't point the question of the pint. I just did a complete reset, in the hope that he would go back to its default setting if I have deleted or destroyed something by accident, but I still have questions. Can someone help me please. I am frustrated and fed up frankly at this stage.
Please get back to me as soon as possible, because I have important files on this laptop that I need to download on my drive of google.
    Thank you.

    Hi Fergiey,

When you run the network troubleshooting tool and which indicates that the wireless IP address is not configured correctly, I suggest that you reset the stack TCP/IP and check if that helps.

One of the components of the Internet connection on your computer is a package of instructions called TCP/IP. TCP/IP can sometimes become damaged or altered. If you can't connect to the Internet and you have tried all other methods to solve the problem, TCP/IP can be causing it.

TCP/IP is a main component of Windows, you cannot delete it. However, you can reset TCP/IP to its original state by using the NetShell (netsh) utility.

The reset command is available in the context of the NetShell utility IP. Follow these steps to use the reset command to reset TCP/IP manually:

    Steps: what please refer:

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

    a. open an command prompt, press the Windows key + X select prompt as an administrator.

    b. When the user account control box pops up, click on Yes.
    c. at the command prompt, copy and paste (or type) that follows the command, and then press ENTER:

    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

    d. Note: If you do not specify a path of the directory for the log file, use the following command:

    netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

    c. restart the computer.

    d. When you run the reset command, it rewrites two registry keys that are used by TCP/IP. This has the same result as the removal and the reinstallation of the Protocol. The reset command rewrites the following two registry keys:

    SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\
    SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DHCP\Parameters
    .

    e. to run the manual command, you must specify a file name for the log, in which the action takes netsh is recorded. When you run the manual command, TCP/IP is reset and the actions that have been taken are recorded in the log file, called resetlog.txt

Please post with the State of the question.

  • Satellite A350-22D - cannot activate the network (Windows 10) wireless adapter

With Windows 10 Wi - Fi worked well. Suddenly three days it s active no more
FN + F8 does not work.
The switch in front of the computer or the other.
At startup, the computer recognizes the card and then turns off the front LED.

The card WiFi Intel 5100 AGN and pilots the latest work well.
I uninstalled and reinstalled but no result.
What can I do to get my Wi - Fi works again?

PS: when I've been upgraded to Windows 8, it had the same problem...

This old notebook was designed for Vista and support for Win7. No more than that.
FN + F8 is controlled by special tool developed for the feature FN keys.

As much I know Toshiba offers no update for this older model laptop.
Let's see if any other A350 owner has found a solution for this.

I have A300 with Win7 on it, but I don't want to test with Win10 due to all possible issues I have with her.

  • TE2100 - wireless network card not visible in device (XP SP3) management

HI, thanks for looking at my post.

I'm trying to get another year of this beast. USB1 only so I don't have any options for a wireless dongle.

I have a switch on the left side of the laptop (beside the volume control). FAILS
I have a F8 option for turning and turns off wireless. FAILS
I have a LED at the front to show the wireless status. FAILS
I have a very good memory to have used this laptop wireless prior to this version of windows. (pre SP3 posibly).
I downloaded the drivers. I have "Show hidden devices" in Device Manager. FAILS

There is no reference to a device or a wireless card anywhere > not a glance. Not an option - nothing.
I found a post that says SP2 could work. But I'm reluctant to roll back.

Someone knows something about this situation?

    Thank you very much

    See you soon

    Tim

    Hi Tim,.

So if the WLAN card is not listed in Device Manager, what happens if you start installing the driver? You can download the WLAN driver from Toshiba's official website:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

But you have to look in * Archives * because he former model laptop s but you will be Agere WLAN driver 1.11.108 for XP. In addition, download & install Wireless LAN Activator to activate the wireless network card.

    Check this box!

  • Impossible to find wireless adapter/driver installation does not work

I recently had to open my laptop HP G7 to blow off the dust of my fan and under the keyboard. When I put they keyboard back together, my wifi does not work. I am now on an ethernet connection. Open a network connection, there is no icon wifi adapter. I tried to install the driver, but mid install, I get this message "the driver that you want to delete the files will not be deleted as the corresponding card is not installed". I don't know what that means, but when installation is finished, the Wi - Fi connection does not always appear in network connections, and the driver does not appear in Device Manager. What else can I try?

    Hi @king26 ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using the forum, it's a great place to find answers. You have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I think that after you open your laptop to clean dust from your fan and that breaks down your wireless card is no longer recognized.

I suggest deleting and reinstalling the wireless card, as it can move during the cleaning process.

The driver could not complete the installation because he couldn't find the map to focus on.

Please let me know the results.

  • Downgrade from Windows 7 - driver interface (ethernet) NETWORK does not!

I bought the HP Envy 15-j030us portable and QUICKLY retired the suicidal call error Microsoft Windows 8.  Everything is ok except my ethernet driver HP does not work.

The driver has been installed but there is a problem of access to materials or loading the driver, idk.

In Device Manager, it is recognized as a Realtek NIC but does not correctly install the software.  When it is plugged in, two activity lights are flashing but there is no evidence of a network.  The taskbar displays only the ORANGE icon wifi available.

I am quite frustrated to Macrosoft to put me there already, can someone please help?

    Hello:

You should be able to use all of the drivers W7 64 bit of this professional HP laptop except the audio.

If for any reason the realtek LAN driver does not work since the link above, you can get it directly from realtek to l'adresse--deuxieme file on the list.

Make sure you install the Intel Chipset Installation Utility driver first before moving on if you have not already done so.

  • "Enterprise network" permission not visible in the Application of the permissions

    Hello

I have two devices of 8800 (v4.5) a configured with BES and another with the BIS.

In our application during installation, we show the permissions dialog box if "Network server" permission is set to DENY using,

    newPermissions.addPermission (ApplicationPermissions.PERMISSION_SERVER_NETWORK);

    ApplicationPermissionsManager.invokePermissionsRequest (newPermissions);

This fix on the BES device work, but fails with BIS device.

On device BIS opens the permissions dialog box, but no permission is listed in the (Blank) dialog.

Is one knows the reason why it does not work on BIS device?

    Comment:

1 device, BES - for all permissions "Network of the company" installed application is visible in the list of the Application's permissions (Options > Advance Options > Applications > change permission)
    2. BIS device - for all permissions "Network of the company" installed application is never visible in the permissions list for the Application

There are many methods, which include most analysis service log files. I suggest that you look at the source code of the NetworkDiagnostic tool available for free from RIM.
